A must visit bike shop. It’s part shop, part retail store and part bike museum. The vibe of the shop is so good! The shop stocks many unique and interesting parts from the best brands in the industry. Plus they have cool shirts. Looking forward to visiting when I’m in Omaha.

I initially stopped in several years ago to look for a bike, but ultimately did not purchase - they have a great new selection but just not what I was looking for. I do go to them often for my service needs though. I have a Kona Jake that I have rebuilt and ride often. Any flat tire, or service needs that come up they are quick to help and at a fair price. They are definitely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. Ive visited several times for various reasons, and I always get the help I need. They even do bike inspections if you have an old bike that may need some attention. I havent been to many other local bike shops in town, but Im happy with Monkey Wrench, so I dont go anywhere else.

Needed to get a bike shipped to CA and they were super helpful with the process! They took apart the bike and boxed it up and then told me about Bike Flights for lower priced shipping - they took a stressy process and made it super easy for me :)

I have had success in the past with having my bicycle repair at cycle works but later found that monkey wrench was closer and more convenient and now I have chosen this place to get a repair done or get what I need these guys are known to be the best at what they do nice and friendly and always there to help.

Monkey Wrench has always been a great bike shop in town. But what they did for me the last time I stopped in is absolutely incredible.I acquired some used wheels on ebay to replace a broken set that I had on a bike that is very dear to me. I went in thinking that it will be a simple job of moving the cassette from one wheel to another but that was far from it. The new set had a wobbly freehub body which they ended up swapping from my old wheel, since it was in better condition.I came to pick up the wheel only to find out from the guys that 3 out of 6 holes for the brake rotor were drilled through for bigger, non-standard screws and even if we affixed my rotor the aluminum body was too weak and would eventually break. This was a major safety hazard.The only way to save the situation was to move the rim from the new wheel over to my old hub and put it all together. Anyone who has ever worked on bikes knows that this is a heck of a job that involves completely rebuilding the wheel, moving spokes, bearings - everything.You could tell that the guys didnt like the fact that I spent all that money and so much work still had to be done, but they absolutely wanted to help me and theyve done a superb job! Eric, man, youre amazing!I now have a fully functional bike again and am looking forward to nicer weather so I can ride. Thank you Monkey Wrench Cycles, you guys totally rock!

Ive been going to these guys for years. They are great! You can tell that they really care about bicycles and bicycling. Theyre friendly, but they never make it seem like theyre like a used car salesman. And their work is always great. And their prices are reasonable. Dont go anywhere else!

Bikes are hard to find right now. Called these guys and luckily they had the bike I was looking for, still in a box. Even though they are extremely busy, they took the time to put it together and called me later that day to tell me it was ready for a test ride. I went for a test ride the next day and Nate was super helpful. Thanks for the great customer service and the great bike.

Best shop in Lincoln! Took my sons wal-mart bike to them because it needed a bottom bracket rebuild. Now I was just going to buy the parts and Install them myself but the guy working there offered to install everything for me. So to make a long story short, 25 dollars later and my sons bike rides like new again. Super cheap repair for a bike that no other shop would even touch. And all the other shops I called were down right rude when I asked them if they could fix the bike. These guys are a class act.

Had full tune-ups done on my wife and Is trail bikes within the last week and both are running better than new. Nate and Eric are two of the most talented and honest mechanics Ive ever worked with. Been doing business here for 15+ years and couldnt recommend more.

Fixed my extremely worn and dilapidated bike for a reasonable price in only one business day. Then, when it was discovered there was something else wrong with the bike, they repaired for no extra cost in only ten minutes. I was grateful for their service, their quality of work, and rapid response to repairing my bike. Get your bike fixed here!

About 10 days ago, I posted a critical review of Monkey Wrench and also reached out to them. Not only were they nice enough to respond, they asked that I bring my bike back to their shop. They did everything they could to fix the issues with my back tire and gears. They took time to explain everything that had happened and now my bike is running as good as new - if not better. There are, fortunately, many good bike shops in the Lincoln area and this is the best!

I am so glad that I went there this morning. My bike was taken in, the chain greased up and everything else checked out just fine. Great customer service, extremely knowledgeable. That is my shop now. Cool place.

Didn’t have a single bike in the whole store that would work for me and they supposedly don’t have a wrench that can loosen your tires. Would give less stars if I could. Have more selection and products for ALL your customers. Very disappointed.

Had a bike lock mishap on their rack outside (which was totally my fault) and the staff jumped into action and treated like it was their problem. You cant find a lot of business like this anymore. These people care about you and want to make sure you are making smart purchases. HIGHLY recommend MW Cycles for all of your service and new bike needs. I will be a customer for life and always recommend them just like they were recommended to me. As a student on campus here at UNL I needed my bike fixed. Monkey wrench provided the best service Ive ever had at a bike shop. The man working there today (whose name I did not catch) knew what was wrong immediately, fixed the spoke tension on my back tire, and tuned up my chain/gears. He had it done within a couple hours, and now rides like brand new! The location to campus is definitely a plus, and Ill definitely come back if I have any other problems with my bike

Ive gotten a good u lock there and got the largest mountain bike tires my wheels could hold thanks to the recommendations from these guys. They just eye balled the size that might work, I ordered the tires put them on, and now I can use this bike year round instead of using a different mountain bike for winter conditions. These guys have always been knowledgeable and super chill. The people over at cycle works have been douchy to me because I ask about the cheapest way to do things, but these guys havent been at all. They let me know when Id end up paying more in the long run for a cheaper component and when I can get away with it, without being judgey. They rock!

My favorite shop in Lincoln (of many good ones)! I think they have the best mechanics around and there is never any up-sale pressure from their staff when buying bikes and equipment .Just realized I needed to update my review after buying our second bike there - they had a nice hard tail Kona MTB in stock at a very nice price. Was impressed given how hard it seems to find bikes these days. Another great experience. Also had Eric build a third set of wheels - theyve all been very solid, stayed true/round. CAnt say enough good things about the place!

The guys that helped me took the time out of their busy repair work to get a minor accessory item. Nice about it..that says alot in my book...Ill be back!

I have good things to say about several of the local bike shops, although I go to Monkey Wrench most often. Eric and Nate will give you good advice and honest evaluations. Definitely no high-pressure sales. Most important (to me), my experiences have been that their repair expertise is second to none.

My go-to shop for gear, service, parts and full builds. Recommend them to all my friends and family. Wide selection of both bikes and gear and these guys can help out the beginner or the enthusiust. If you prefer two wheels to four then this is the place for you!

I would say best bike shop in town but that would be an all out lie. They are the best in the state. If you want a hand built wheel there is no place in a 3 hour radius of this shop that can touch the quality that Eric puts out. I had a white industry laced to a hed Belgian rim about 5 years ago. It has never been trued and is still straight as an arrow 15,000 miles later. They go the extra mile and will sell you what you need.

Nate, Eric and Carl are amazing. Always super helpful and nice. I had gotten a rear wheel from somewhere else and was having a problem with it. Even though I said it wasnt a rush Eric wanted to look at it then and together we figured out what was missing as it was a proprietary/uncommon piece on that hub. He wouldnt even charge me for the 20 minutes of time! Its not the first time theyve gone above and beyond for me either.Thanks again MWC!

Great, well equipped shop! It is a block or two from the bike trail, but worth the effort to get there.

Extremely helpful and friendly. They really know bikes and do amazing work. I had them do some custom work on a Surly Wednesday and it was better than I couldve expected. They carry some nice bikes and a limited, but nice selection of gear and accessories. Theyre never pushy and would rather fix a bike or get you out riding than sell you gear.Get your hands on some MWC swag like a koozie, hat, or water bottle if you can. :)

Ive been using these folks for about 1 year. My bike always feels like new after they work on it. Great, timely service and excellent repair/maintenance skills.

Took my Salsa in for a tune up Monday, got it back the same day by 2pm. Put 20 miles on it that night, the bike rode great!

My bike needed the tube replaced as soon as possible. 5 minutes after my arrival they had it replaced while greasing the chains and pumping up the tires as compliments. Very nice and proffessional staff, would definitely recommend.

Great selection and service! Bikes are sort of higher-end, so dont go looking for a $400 Schwinn or anything like that. They have bikes from about the $800 range all the way up to multiple thousands of dollars. I bought a Focus Culebro Ultegra for $1500 and I am very happy with it. The main brands they carry are Focus, Kona, Surley, and Salsa - all very nice, high quality bikes. Love this place.
