Sooters is a good, honest mechanic. I brought a car in when I didnt pass emissions and they found a leaking intake manifold gasket. The mechanic tricked the emissions just by raising the idle and having me idle the car a bit faster when I was next in line for testing. A much less expensive fix that left me time to fix the main problem. He also fixed some vacuum leaks. Then I bought an Explorer and got it in for an oil change. They found a number of things, little things, that I can fix as I can afford it. Theyll change your oil without the other typical sabotage like chain store mechanics.Thanks Sooters, 2 thumbs up

Through no fault of their’s, the power steering pump they installed in my truck failed, twice. Despite the fact that they were completely booked up, the owner Kim, made time to replace the parts both times, at no extra cost to me, so that I was able to leave on time for my 3,500 mile drive to Canada.Many thanks to them. Their kind of professionalism and integrity is, in my experience, very rare these days.

We had just pulled up up to check into our hotel on a rainy day when we realized that our back tire was very flat. They were so kind to not only fill the flat with air to see if it would hold, but offered to replace it with our spare while we waited. Id been chasing a loud cracking sound in the front end of our low mileage 2000 Honda Cr-v through two shops here in Green Valley. Their solution, vastly overpriced, was to replace the front struts. I just didnt think that was warranted, the struts are less than a year old.Id been by Sooters for years and thought to give them a call. Cruz, the friendly young tech, took it for a test drive then put it on the lift for a better look. He couldnt find anything really wrong, but did tighten 2 mount nuts on the drivers side strut. Problem solved!!! Took only a few minutes, but with all shops the clock is running as it should, but here - No Charge!!Remarkably positive experience and theyve got all our business for the future. As always, it only takes one good man who cares and is determined to get it right to fix any problem. Excellent Shop!!

I initially chose Sooter’s cause it was so close to the university where I work and they offered pick up/drop off service at this time due to COVID. Kim was absolutely amazing and friendly. She answered all my questions fully as it was my first time ever getting vehicle service from a garage. They quoted me $150 for a general 30k truck maintenance check, but since my truck was technically near 37k (although, I did buy it used at 20k), they did an average between mileages, and with the extra lil work they had to do on it, came out to $203. The pick up/drop off was a bit rocky considering they were swamped and had a guy call out sick, but we made it work! She explained on the phone what they did/was required and stuck the invoice with the details in the console at drop off. Easy as pie. Overall, they were professional, personable, and got the job done. Will definitely use them again in the near future.

I highly recommend Sooters. Only shop that has been able to fix the transmission leak in my 1964 Comet for good, and did a lot of other needed mechanical work at a very reasonable price. They also work on my newer SUV, and are very honest. I definitely believe they are not just after your money and they truly care about their customers and getting the job done right. Sorry to see a couple bad reviews on here; I just couldn’t imagine anyone at Sooters not doing a giving you noble honest service and doing a stand-up job. They are super busy so call in advance, but it’s because a lot of people know they are simply the best in town.

My old truck is running better than it ever has after a few hours in the Sooters garage. Couldnt be happier!I interacted pretty extensively with two of the mechanics and the woman running the office, and all of them were extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Wish I lived in Tucson so they could become my new go-to mechanics, but alas, I am just driving through.

Great, honest mechanics!!!I recently took my vehicle to get inspected by a national-chain shop, and after they inspected it they said that the seals/boots in my rack and pinion assembly were leaking and would need replaced sometime soon. They wanted to replace the whole rack and pinion for $800. I told them I wouldnt do it then and to hold off. I did research online and found that you can replace just boots/seals if mechanics have the right tools. While taking a non-personal car here, I asked them about it and they said to bring it in later that day and they would take a look. After being there for less than 5 minutes, I come to find out that the rack and pinion is fine and that there is a minor leak, but it still has YEARS before the leak becomes bad enough to fix. That five minute inspection saved me over $800! They even added conditioner into power steering free to charge. Having recently moved, I didnt have a go-to mechanic around Tucson, but now I do! Would highly recommend this place! Very friendly and honest mechanics!

Great Shop. I know enough about cars to do some work myself, some things are just over my head. One of the few shops in town that I can buy my own parts and bring them in and they still guarantee the work. They are a busy shop for a reason and have good pricing. They wont try to push unnecessary repairs but will tell you what needs to be fixed now/soon/eventually. Honest business that I recommend to my customers, and I work in the car business.

Recommended this place to my mom to get her taillights fixed. They called and gave her an estimate before working on the car, then when we picked up the vehicle, they did not have the parts needed to replace the hub seal on one of her wheels. So they did not charge her for that. Honest and reliable mechanics, and Kim is a true professional! Will bring my car here if my husband cant do the repairs!!

Fantastic experience. I had a check engine light come on. I suspected a faulty fuel injector. Took it into Sooters first thing in the morning. Yup was a fuel injector. They replaced it at a reasonable cost. I needed my Jeep back by 3pm and they even got it done for me by then! But here is where they really shine. I took my Jeep home and the next time I tried to start it it wouldnt start. So I called them up and explained this to them. They had me go through their towing company and tow the vehicle back in, spent most of the day trouble shooting the problem, it was a blown fuse in the fuel injector circuit. When I went to pick it up there was no charge for the tow or the trouble shooting and they even gave me a few extra fuses just in case it happens again! Awesome experience! This is the only shop Im going to in the future.

I went to Sooters for front brake replacement on the recommendation of a friend who highly praised their work. I was similarly impressed. their prices are reasonable and the work professional. As I was preparing to leave, the manager said: we always try to do our best work but were human and can make mistakes. If you have any problems I want to know about it. What more can you ask for?

I pulled into this place pretty much at random after a 4 hour drive. I had just had a bunch of work done on my car in another city, and I was hearing a knocking noise that was pretty worrisome. These guys helped me right away, tightened a loose nut, took a test drive to make sure, and I was back on the road in minutes. Great place!

They are efficient in time, effective in diagnosing and repairing, and reasonably affordable. Now that I found them, This is the only shop I will take my cars to!2006 F150 5.4 tritonHad a P300 random multiple cylinder misfire and various throttle body sensor codes. The tech determined it was a bad coil on #5. They also updated the computer. This fixed all my issues and it runs great now.

Excellent honest repair shop. They will tell me when I DONT have to do something, which saves me money. They struggled to fix a window switch on one of my cars, but they only charged me for the first visit. Replacing the factory supplied defective switch several times was totally free after the first attempt.

Took it in for an oil change and a wobbly tire. I got it back with a broken door handle. When I called about this, they said it was bought in like that. Talked with the worker that did the work, he said he oiled it, meaning he looked at the issue, and still they did not want to work with me on getting this sorted out.Bottom line: I brought it is for routine maintenance, and walk out with a busted door handle that had been perfect before dropping it off.Beware, they will not own up to any mistakes made. Seems like a good stop, but again, if they make a mistake, they will not admit it and put it on the customer.I would not recommend going here, very rude counter lady as well.

We took my car in, my door handle worked perfectly fine, I mean, I’ve only had MY car for TWO years, and I know everything about it by now, when I got it back, the door would no longer work, I don’t know what you did to my car, but I don’t think I ever want to be giving you my trust anymore...

Took my car in because something was smoking and I couldnt figure out what. Got it in and they told me exactly what was wrong and what it would cost to fix both in parts and estimated labor. I have a 99 so the car is slowly breaking down on me and I wasnt looking to dump a lot of money into the car but needed it at least drive-able. The friendly staff gave me alternatives of what they could do to stop the smoke and by-pass the failing part. Anywhere else would have told me there would be no other way to fix it.These guys give it to you straight and cheap, something unheard of in my experience when dealing with mechanics.

On our 2005 Ram 2500 Hemi, the clutch friction plate was worn out after 78k miles. Not unusual. Sooters quoted 30% less than the local dealers. They replaced the friction plate, pressure plate, throw out bearing and rear main engine seal. They also had the fly wheel surfaced. A few days after we picked the truck up oil began leaking out of the bell housings drain hole. We took the truck back and they determined that the rear main seal was defective from the manufacturer. They replaced the defective seal at no cost. Thats integrity. The measure of a company is not how they behave when every thing goes right. It is how they respond when there is a problem. Well be taking all of our automotive business to them in the future. Thanks Kim!

Great people, fair prices, they went the extra mile to find the problem with my vehicle and fix it.

I took my 2012 Honda Ridgeline RTL into Sooters Auto Service for some pre-100,000 mile preventative maintenance. They replaced my timing belt system (i.e. belt, tensioner system, idler, seals, etc.), replaced the water pump, and performed an engine tune-up. Price and schedule were as advertised. Im very pleased with the work as well as all of my interactions with Kim. She was very professional, took time to answer my questions, and even walked out to show me where my truck was parked when finished. I asked and they saved my old parts. I had previously had some worked performed at Chapman Honda which was sub-standard so this major work was something I really agonized over. No questions my vehicles will be headed back to Sooters for future maintenance and repairs.

Kim and her mechanics run a quality shop that is also friendly and above all, HONEST. They will bend over backwards to fix your automotive problems and take responsibility for your satisfaction every step of the way.

Sooters is unbelievable. I cannot say enough about the level of professionalism, care, and integrity Kim and her crew live by. A couple of months ago, I took my truck in for a rattle and they ended up replacing the distributor. When I was traveling up to Sedona, my engine started spitting and sputtering --- lo and behold, the new distributor was bad and I had to have it replaced in Sedona. When I returned the faulty distributor to Kim, rather than reimbursing me for the work they did, she reimbursed me for the work I had done in Sedona, which was substantially more expensive than the original repair. How is that for standing by your customers? A real old fashioned small town shop smack dab in the middle of Tucson with all of the modern technologies it takes to get the job done. It doesnt get any better than Sooters!
