We have bought two excellent vehicles from here and have always been treated fairly. They didn’t, at the time, have vehicles I liked so they told me to let them know what I was looking for and my price range. Within a week we had a very nice and mechanically sound car. It ran so well that we returned for a second vehicle five months later when we purchased my fiancé’s SUV. You can’t beat the price. They won’t yank your chain and are straight up about mechanical issues with the cars they get in. I highly recommend Roanoke Auto Auction!

I found this place through Facebook a few months ago. Overall a great experience. The one thing you need to realize is that you arent going to get a cheap car without problems. You get what you pay for. The car I bought from them had some problems. Some listed, some not. Had I not been in a rush because of my own issues or been more vigilant I would have seen them. Still, I think they should list every issue with a car on their Facebook listing (even if I understand why they dont). Even with the money Ive put into some repairs you cant beat the price with no loan.Greg himself was super nice and patient, and didnt hover over me as I looked at the options. He let me get in and test drive any of the cars I was interested in. The buying process was quick and painless. Should I ever be in the position of needing another car for cheap (god forbid) Id purchase from them again. I would just ask more questions.

I bought a 1996 Mercury Sable wagon from Roanoke Auto Auction, (used car section), a couple weeks ago and so far my experience with the car has been hell. Firstly, the odometer doesnt work when I was told it did. I test drove the car around the block next to the auction and noticed the odometer wasnt moving. I passed it off as it didnt get enough driving to move. I asked the salesman directly afterwards if it worked and he assured me it did. Secondly, the service engine soon light came on after I changed the oil and it turned out to be the o2 sensor. Wouldnt be an issue if only it wasnt the most difficult sensor to get to. The light went off after that and all was good for a few days with the exception that the transmission began acting up; hesitating in gear, hard shifting, etc. I planned to get it serviced when the last straw hit this morning; the engine light began flashing and the engine started to make a thumping noise. I believe as soon as they get their cars in they slap a price on them and leave it at that, I dont believe they actually inspect them mechanically. In the end its 100% my fault. I shouldve gotten the car checked out by a reputable mechanic before I made a purchase, although I didnt spend much on it so its not the end of the world. The guy I bought the car from, Greg, was really nice; its a shame hes an untrustworthy sleazeball like the thousands of other shady car dealers. If youre in the market for a used car theres a plethora of other good places you can get a deal. Just stay away from this scrapyard in disguise.

This place is untrustworthy when buying a vehicle. They told me there was nothing mechanically wrong with a car I just bought and as I was driving home the transmission started slipping! I had to pull over and drive with emergency lights on all the way back to staunton! Both front tires were also deflated and a dash light on for tire pressure that wont go away when tires are inflated. This place is a fraud. Im assuming the review above mine are by people the owners personally know. When I said I wanted a refund and to return the car they told me to contact my attorney! DO NOT GO HERE.
