This quite honestly is one of the best, most helpful bike shops. they have machining equipment, a huge variety of bikes including aftermarket rims, bike equipment, the store itself is large and spacious and everyone there is very helpful with a great attitude. would come again. a note on who i believe to be the owner, or manager, i am unsure but he is one of the most helpful people i have dealt with when it comes to bikes, he listens and does everything he can to get you set straight. such a great shop.

Had a full tune-up + new brakes/rotors for my mountain bike ~$400. Everything was great until 6 months later when my front brake developed rotor noise and I noticed a loose caliper mount and overhanging brake pad wear pattern.When I brought it in they sold me a new rotor. I pointed out that the cup washers were still loose and was told that was normal (???). They couldnt fix the noise after 2 tries so I left. Long story short I figured it out at another shop. Turns out Ajo had installed the new brakes with incorrect spacing (overhanging pads) and flipped the bolts (bottomed out bolt, loose). I fixed the front brakes. Similar spacing problem on the rear (see photos). It was sloppy, and Im bummed about it.Edit: had an good conversation with the owner Brian Newbrey and felt heard. I appreciate them reaching out to me.

Was riding The Loop and got a flat, thankfully this shop was open and got me in and out in no time and they were all super helpful and friendly.

Went in asking for a seat post release pin. They were very helpful in quickly assisting me and offered options. Didnt end up finding what I was looking for but experience was good.

They had lots of bike seats to choose from. I finally found a replacement for my old uncomfortable seat. Helpful employees and has more in stock than any other store weve visited recently.

I drove down from Gilbert as I know Ajo has probably the best selection of recumbents in the state. I am considering getting a recumbent trike as my body doesnt work as well as it used to. So, there I was, staring at the inventory on hand and, Brian, the owner, came over and asked if he could help. I explained my situation and Brian showed me a number of different models he thought would be appropriate. (The body may be old but my brain still thinks I am a teenager.) Then, over the next few hours, yes hours, I tried at least a half-dozen of more trikes. Brain hopped on his own and we both circled the parking lot as Brian patiently explained different features ...no pressure, excellent information. He then left me alone to sort things out and decide what I liked, etc. I did not buy a bike that day but I can tell you that I have never had a better experience at a shop in my life and I have been to quite a few over the years. I cannot recommend Ajo bikes more highly and, when the time comes to pull the trigger on the deal, I would not think of going anywhere but Ajo. Thanks Brian, thanks Chris!

I should have written this review months ago but better late than never right?!?! I purchased a bike for my teenager in December... they went above and beyond to help get everything situated for the big surprise! Fast forward to this week.... we had some issues with the bike, manufacturer issues, but the guys at Ajo Bikes were more than willing to fix all the issues even tho it wasn’t really their issues to fix. I was originally told it would be a week or two to get the parts ordered which wasn’t an issue at all. I got a call today and told it was done already!!! Seriously the best customer service EVER! Literally from the purchase to repairs, best shop hands down! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Im not happy with their service. I took my bike in for a tune up and when I got it back, I found that they hadnt replaced the bearings in the crank. Also, the brake line broke AFTER they replaced it. When I asked them what they were going to do to fix my problem and they Said that I should bring it to the shop and that they wouldnt charge me full price. Charge me????Ill never go back to AJO BIKES

I went in to get a tube replaced on my bicycle wheel. Had a really great experience. Super friendly staff. I had two first for me. I was able to ride my first ebike and my first trike which was an etrike. Not sure how soon I might by an ebike but I can say a was really impressed! When I got done with my rides my tube replacement was finished. Aho bikes is a bike shop you should give serious consideration too. 🚲 😎

Oh my goodness. I called and spoke with Chris. I needed 2 sets of clear odyssey brake pads so I could bring in 2 bikes for new pads new cables complete brake services on both bikes. Ive done this in the past and worked with Debbie and that was a pleasure! Chris refused to order me $20 worth of brake pads unless I came into the store. I told him I lived 45 minutes away but by then he was to the point of talking over me on the phone.I offered to pay for the pads over the phone but he insisted I come in. He had 1 set in stock so were talking about ordering 1 set of pads. He didnt ask for my name or my phone number to look me up in their system. Had he done this he would have seen that not only have I purchased several bikes form them Ive spent thousands of dollars in parts and service. Never again. I called Broadway Bikes and got the complete opposite treatment. Theyre not off the freeway so theyre not convient but they are 100% more professional. Pads are on order and will call and schedule me an appointment when the parts arrive.

My experience was with the service department. I had a tire problem that they were able to fix and get me back on the road. Thank you, Ajo Bikes. While I was waiting, I looked around the shop. They are well stocked with bikes and equipment.Four days later, I decided to go get my front derailer adjusted. Jesus not only did the adjustment, he showed me what to do if it happened again and got a bike trail map for me.Thanks Jesus and Ajo bikes.

Super expensive and little selection. I know Ajo bikes very well. I been going to Ajo bikes since I was a kid and the shop was on 12th and Ajo. You probably dont remember me because the last time I was there the staff didnt help..As far as the bike prices, I went to another store and paid $500 dollars for a bike. Im not totally broke if thats what you are implying. i just wasnt going to pay $700 at this shop for the same bike.. please consider going elsewhere if you want helpful staff and a decent price..

We were greeted at door by sales person. Right away, there were problems ! We were cut off when speaking! Made to feel stupid because of not knowing demention of tires. pedals. Sales person directed us to go to Amazon for high riser handle bars, which we really needed assistance. Not knowing tire specs, got in a heated discussion. We were refered to this bike shop! That person spends a great amount of money. The gentleman, putting that very lightly, that helped us was in to much of a hurry just to make a sell. Do to our experience, WE WILL NOT BE BACK OR RECOMMEND YOUR SHOP.

Incredible experience. Ajo Bikes is literally the best bike shop in Tucson. I bought this bike from the U of A auction and took it into Ajo Bikes for some repairs and overhaul. It came back as a beautifully new working bike. It was a surprise for my wife and she loves it! The new owners were so helpful and friendly, as was the service staff. My wife and I were desperate to get her recumbent bicycle’s end shifter replaced, as we are here on vacation from Maryland. First, we called the shop that we paid to assemble our bikes after we shipped them into town. No luck. They didn’t have the end shifter. Next we tried Ajo Bikes. What we didn’t realize was that Ajo’s owner, Brian answered the phone, even after his shop had just closed. He heard our dilemma and said he would stay late with a mechanic to see if they could help. They both stayed at least thirty minutes late waiting for us and another thirty minutes to repair it. Notice I said repair. The Ajo mechanic REPLACED the SPRINGS in the end shifter. He did that so he wouldn’t have to charge us for a NEW end shifter. UNHEARD OF in bicycle repairs. I’ve literally been around the country riding bikes on vacation. Tucson, please know the value you have in Ajo Bikes. They stayed late for $ 6.00 repair and didn’t take advantage of us. Well, after getting two new jersey’s we left, amazed at their decency. Needless to say, we can’t wait to wear the Ajo jerseys tomorrow when we head out to the Loop. Thanks again Brian, we love your shop as much as we appreciate your integrity and thanks for going the extra mile. It means a lot.

Ive been coming here for a little while for maintenance on my bike. Theyve always been very knowledgeable and friendly and worked to make sure I was taken care of. When it was time to upgrade, they went out of their way to help me get the right bike for me. I wish more businesses were run like them. I will be a customer for life.

Really friendly staff over the phone & in person. Fixed my flat in 15 minutes & welcomed us on the schedule for an appointment to see if they can fix my grandsons ebike too.

Good customer service, although they were busy like most shops in the pandemic, it appeared to me they enjoy people and thier aspirations to ride. They didnt seem stuffy as to say you need us we dont need you. I simply felt like a friend with similar interests in helping people.

Brought my sons bike in for a few things, Thought it needed a tune up, new chain and tires and tubes. These guys were very accommodating, had great customer service. Told me a Tune up was not needed, the chain could be saved and just had to replace the tires and tubes and they checked over the cables. This was busy and I had the bike back in just a few days where as the local place closest to me said at least a couple of weeks. All at a great price. Highly recommend Ajo Bikes. Keep up the great work.

Amazing!!!! Everything about Ajo Bikes from the customer service to quality of products, even pricing, is exceptional. I bought my bike from them around this time last year and love it so much that if I’m am not working, I’m probably on it! Today, my husband accidentally hit my bike while we were riding & broke the entire rear assembly. I immediately called Brian to see if they would be able to look at it & he told me to bring it in. Not only were they able to fix it but with an already busy schedule they were able to get it back to me in the same day so I’ll be able to go for a ride again tomorrow! By far this was a great choice. The 3 wheel bike I picked up for a developmentally disabled gentleman, was so happy! Brian was amazing! Very professional and knowledgable. He helped us make an informed decision. He was very personable and nice. The price was a little more then I expected but the quality makes up for the difference. This is truly a better bike. Now I am going back to get a bike for me.

Ive been there three times, it wasnt until my third time. I was treated poorly, to make a long story short. My bicycle was ready on Tuesday. No one called to notify me when I called to get a status no one picked up the phone. I left a message and no one in that store called me back.So on Thursday I go to the store and I get wishy-washy customer service. No customers are around except for the employees and Im ignored. And when finally I do get customer service, Im told my bicycle isnt ready or it cannot be found. Then another guy comes to me and asks to see my receipt. Only to be told, NOT reccommended that I get a new bicycle.Heres the thing...I only came in for a new kick-stand and two new tires. At first I was told that it was going to cost me 200 plus dollars to ger my bicycle fix.So buyer beware when you go to this store.I say that because this store has a sign that says they are strict with their rules about COVID-19 and yet this man who tended to my customer needs had no mask on. Im not going there ever again 😠

I have been a patron of Ajo Bikes, came into the shop in 2004. I was looking for a recumbent trike. I test road a trike and was hooked . Frank Cook, the owner at that time was very helpful. I have had a high respect for the shop and see no reason to shop any where else. I have purchased many bikes and trikes from Ajo Bikes over the years and have never been disappointed with anything. Brian, the current owner has carried on and even improved the shop. Give Ajo Bikes a chance the next time you want to experience old fashtion service with a modern flair. Amazing service. Just had my trike upgraded to an E-Trike. The mechanics did over the top service. Cleaned the chain, and the cassette, informing and showing me the worn out shifter springs and replacing them 1-2-3. I asked about a headlight and they said they could wire it to the e-kit and control it from the display. Professional knowledgeable staff!

Took my bike for what I was told was a simple repair, but I was told there was heavy demand and it would take 5 days before they would even get to it. I had done business with them before and I went ahead and left it there. Then ten days later, a day before I was told it would be ready, I called up and was told that it was still in the queue. Not a way to keep customers! I decided to pick up bike and take it elsewhere I suggest that anyone considering Ajo Bikes, think twice before they take their business there.

Well, Brian had reached out to me and explained a communication gap..Though the bike was gently used, I was not expecting a full refund, for it was now a used bike. To my surprise, he still offered a full refund.Though I think my riding daysAre behind me now. I think he has a really good selection I whish I could ride.I apologize for the delayed update.

Ive bought 3 bikes and 5 helmets here. These bikes and other bikes get serviced and repairs here. At first I went here because of the prices but now its an efficient one stop shop, and quality bikes for my family.

Nice staff but their mechanics I dont know. When someone comes in a place and says $ no problem just want the bike fix. I think it should be fixed in one shot. Not the whole come and go back and forth game should be played.

Brian sold me two great Raleigh ebikes. This is the oldest bike shop in Tucson and they have fast fast turnaround. He has about 8 mechanics so they are often able to fit you in. I like their KHS and Raleigh line of bikes. You save about 20 percent over buying Giant or Specialized.

What a great shop for bicycles, recumbents, bike parks, just about everything for cycling. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. If they do not have it, they know where to find it.

I was referred to Ajo bikes by a family friend to purchase my sons first bmx bike. I called the store to let them know I would be coming in, I asked to speak with Chris, who I was told to ask for. I let him know I would be there within the hour, and confirmed if that time would work with him, as I did not want to interrupt his lunch hour. Upon my arrival, he was less helpful. He basically just pointed his cane up at the available bikes, and left it at that. I had to ask him to bring them off the rack for a closer look. I asked if they had other color options than black. He told me he would go to the back and check. When he returned he came out with a plate of food that his employees had brought in while I was there. He continued to eat while ringing out another customer, then remembering I was standing there waiting for him to continue to help me. At that point I had already decided I would not be purchasing my sons bike from them. I went to Broadway bikes where I was given all the information they needed and was very happy with my purchase, and knowledgeable staff.

Hands down the best bike shop in Tucson. Visit after visit these people know how to run a business. Great selection of bikes, trikes and anything bike related. Friendly staff, And the Mechanics are very knowledgeable and some of the best in town. Wish I could give more stars this place rocks 🤘

Excellent shop! We were passing through on a multi-month off-road bike tour. Brian went out of his way to help us, taking one of our bikes into the back to get a mechanical question answered, even going as far as helping us on his computer with GPS issues. Great people, great shop!
