Wow. What a solid, helpful, and friendly team at proVelo. Went in late in the day on a Sunday afternoon, after only a little research and advice from family, looking for a gravel bike. Laura took down and set up ~ 5 bikes for me to take for quick loops in the parking lot. She knew a ton, and was able to help lay out the various pros and cons of each bike, helped me optimize for value, and made sure I got all the accessories I needed with a 10% discount with a new bike! After my first ~150 miles a week or so later, the front wheel was clicking so I popped in for an adjustment and the mechanic stopped what he was working on to help me out, quickly testing a few things and getting me back on the road 20 mins later. Love this bike shop. So glad to have found them to help me with my new bike!

I cant say enough about this shop. Ive been taking my bikes to them for about a year and a half. All of my interactions with the staff have been great. They are friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. Ive had them install and dropper post, build a mtn bike, and work on my brakes. In each case, they have done good work for a fair price. They always take the time to explain what was done and point out things that I should keep my eye on. I will continue to bring my bikes to proVelo.

Ive been going to ProVelo for around 5 years for bike maintenance, fitting and shopping. The staff is always friendly and helpful, once they even skipped a song that was playing because I mentioned I didnt like it! Chris is an expert bike fitter, and the pricing on that service is very reasonable. Ive had him help me on three different bikes, and Ive been able to comfortably ride for thousands of miles. I recently purchased a new Giant bike through ProVelo that was available at another dealer halfway across the country, and they made it easy to get it here and get me rolling. I also know theyve gone above and beyond for other riders who had warranty issues on their new Giant bikes. If youre serious about riding, this shop is an excellent resource!

In a town full of bike shops, proVelo is my go-to. Heres why:The Staff: Travis, Chris, and Amanda (among others) have helped me with the countless questions I have about my bikes and nearby trails. They are friendly and do not push sales on their customers. The Service: I know that when I take my bikes here they are in good hands and for a reasonable price. These mechanics are thorough, honest, and knowledgeable. If you cherish your bike like I do, you want it to be worked on by someone with passion and expertise. The Bikes: It doesnt matter if you are buying your first commuter bike or your third high-end mountain bike: This shop has something for everyone. They have a solid range of brands, types of bikes, and price-points. If they dont have the exact bike you are looking for in the shop, they can order it and assemble it quickly. The Demo Program: Theyve got a fleet of beautiful bikes ready for you to go out and ride. When you decide on a bike to buy, every penny you spent on your demo rides goes directly to your bike purchase. This allows you to try different brands, models, wheel sizes, frame sizes, etc.Enough said: Go see the place for yourself and you will know what I’m talking about!

I found several great things about this shop. They have a small but great selection of women’s bike shorts and gloves - with some brands better than REI’s - and the prices are the same. The price of a tune-up here was less than what I’ve paid elsewhere and included more. The mechanics were friendly and transparent about pricing, and my bike was ready a day and a half before they said it would be. I will definitely be back the next time I need parts or services.

ProVelo is just ok. I havent had bad experiences but I also havent had great experiences. For example I called and asked about taking a bike on a quick parking lot ride to get the feel for the bike, something any shop is happy to do. I was told no because the bike was a demo and I would need to pay $125 to demo it. :/Another example: I bought a demo bike and was told to come back after they cleaned it up for me. Im ok with that. Came back later to quickly pick it up and go out for a ride. Got to the trail, hopped on, and I realized there was still a lot of dirt around the BB area. Ok, thats fine. Its going to get dirty anyway. Once I started riding I noticed the rear mech wasnt in tune..... :/I have also got good advice and bought the odd item that I needed from them but any other shop would do or have the same.

The quality of their service is tremendous. They are quality experienced techs and will do a good job. They are very helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to all sorts of different bike gear. I even think they charge fair prices for the quality you get.I have tried multiple times to give them money. I have wanted to give them money so badly but I have been unable to. Why? Every time I ask for some service they quote me out 3 weeks. This is fine for a tuneup but when I get some new bike parts in, Im quite eager to install them.Multiple times I call or email beforehand and they say we can do that in under a day just bring it in anytime but when I come in, they put me on the schedule days or weeks out, and then I drive up the road half a block and Recycled Cycles who can do it within hours. Ive even offered to pay them more money to get it sooner.. Sometimes cost is no object to me when Im eager for an install. Id rather use them than RCs but would rather be able to get on the bike and get some centuries in over the weekend if you feel me?I feel bad cancelling so many appointments. I dont feel that bad though they clearly get a ton of business if theyre always incredibly booked, and it seems every time Im in there I see someone w/ a $5000-$10000 bike so hey I cant blame them if thats the clientele they prioritize. Most of these guys have multiple bikes that cost more than my car so they dont mind if the bike hangs out for several weeks. I know I work with a lot of these money bag characters. Unfortunately I am poor but even us poor people need to hit the pavement and pedal. When youre poor and you get bike upgrades, the parts are a significant portion of your net worth so your marginal utility is much higher than rich people w/ multiple s-works bikes. But that said those people have more $ so fair enough. So if you have a really nice bike and need the best work, go to proVelo. If you care about speed go to recycled cycles. Both have their place.

After trying almost every bike shop in Fort Collins, this was my last resort to try to find a part so I could ride while visiting. I knew exactly what part I needed because I had been to 7 other shops in the area that day. From the moment I walked in the door I was treated with such disrespect and as if I was a complete bother for even asking. I was even willing to install the part myself if they didn’t have time for me but they acted as if I was an idiot for asking and I had no idea why. I did not know what their dealership was because I was just recommended to them as a store who had access to a lot of parts from the LBS I had visited just prior. I have never been treated so poorly in a bike shop. I thought at first that maybe it was just me, being tired and frustrated from searching all day for the part but I watched as the person who was helping me treated his coworker in an equally condescending manner. The coworker was asking if they could get a pair of socks in hiking socks for a customer and the person helping me said β€œwe could but we aren’t going to” and the guy trying to be helpful tried to question him further and he said β€œwell we can but we will not”. If there was a reason for that he should have explained instead of just treating the person who was trying to provide good customer service as if he was an idiot for being nice. They also publicly bashed the store that sent me to them. I purchased something in every store I went to just to support the shop as a thank you for trying to help me with my part but I left this store empty handed and almost happy that they didn’t have the part because I really did not want to give them my businessafter this horrific customer experience. I nearly left in tears because of my frustration with the customer experience. I am all about supporting your LBS we need them the thrive but I won’t be going back here ever! Which is too bad because if the nice guy with a foreign accent and trying to find hiking socks for his customer was the one who had helped me, I am sure my experience would have been completely different!

Im writing this so the owner is fully aware of the situation we encountered. My wife wanted her first new bike in ages. Ive been to proVelo many times for parts, technical advice, and gear. It was a clear starting point because they were always my go-to and I liked working with them. The pandemic situation has them very stretched and we tried to be understanding and patient, but we were met with some awful service and rude attitudes. It ended with a refund so that was a plus.We went in and looked at an Escape 1. They had one in my wifes size. She tried it out and liked it. We asked about color options and the salesperson told us this model was discontinued and ordering a different color would take months. In other words, if we didnt buy this one they wouldnt be making any more and this would have to be it because the Escape was not being made anymore. So we bought it.A couple days later we noticed the front wasnt shifting from 3-2. I figured it was break in stretch so I attempted to adjust the cables. Ive been doing this for years but I spent an hour and couldnt get it. So we brought it in when they were open. The employee took it inside for about 1-2 minutes and came out and said it was all fine. I also asked about reflectors because we saw that it had none when we bought it. It also did not have valve stem caps but I didnt bother asking about those. The employee got some and put them on, then we took the bike home.A week later we went for a long ride, this was the first time taking the bike to higher speeds and not just around some slow paths. My wife noted a large vibration from the bike when braking at high speed. I checked the brake rotors and they were both warped / bent. The bike also was even worse shifting. 3-2 in the front was not possible and the rear was jumping gears. The tires were very low on air. My wife is not a bike pro, but I noticed this which indicated that they were never filled or were leaking (tubeless) from when we bought it. We checked our receipt and saw the bike was a 2019. We had no idea it was an old model. We checked online and there was in fact 2020 Escape models to order which contradicted what were were told about the bike being discontinued. We felt frustrated and a little duped at this point. We brought the bike back and spoke with an employee. We explained that the bike still was not right, and that we felt the sales practice was a bit unprofessional because of how the bike was presented to us. He asked if we discussed the year prior, we said no because it was mid 2020 and it would be assumed that the year would be current, not an old model. We also explained that we were told the model was discontinued which also wasnt true. He became defensive and my wife had to tell him we werent mad and we werent yelling, we just wanted this known and what we wanted more was a working bike. He came out and I explained about the brake rotors, the low tires, the poor shifting, and the missing parts. He told us he would make it right and apologized about the delay due to the pandemic. It was likely that it didnt receive a final check before we bought it, and that he would compare 2019 - 2020 prices for us. He said he would fully go over it and fix anything wrong. We said please keep the bike as long as you need, there is no rush, we just want it working. We were told a piece on the derailleur was bent but it was now fixed, and another part in the shifting was bent and replaced. He explained that we needed to be careful with a small metal piece because it bends easily, which made it sound like we bent the part. I asked if they had checked the brake rotors. The employee said he rode it and it was fine. We told him it shakes us off the seat at high speed and I can see it is bent. He told us that there was literally nothing I can do about that, if you want a refund we can do that. My wife said she likes the bike and he laughed at us. I then noticed the back tire was still very low on air. This was it for me and we returned it before we left.

When I was fitted two of them worked with me for over and hour, and when they realized I needed a non-standard seat post - Greg ordered it for me at no charge even though it was costing him money. Thee guys are wonderful. I live in Broomfield (about an hour south) with many bike shops nearby but I bought here b/c of the level of service, knowledge and professionalism. I would highly recommend giving this team a chance if youre looking for bikes - they are great!

Sorry, but I was not impressed. I used to go to the Cycologist, so the bar was set high. With the demise of the Cycologist I thought I would try these guys for a tune-up. They did not clean the bike and they couldnt have taken it for a test ride, because the shifting was not properly adjusted. Also, the person who did the tune-up was not the same person I talked to when I dropped the bike off, so he didnt know about the issues I mentioned when I left the bike there. I wont be going back soon.

This is by far my favorite bike shop in town. I cant recommend this place enough! This is the first bike shop Ive gone to where I feel like Im not being ripped off. Energy gel prices are on par with grocery stores and bike tube prices are on par with Walmart.I recently broke a mtb bike wheel and shopped around for a replacement. Recycled Cycles had nothing in stock and said it would be a minimum of two weeks to order one. On top of that, they were going to charge $7 to transfer over my cassette. Lees Cyclery had a $75 wheel and they were going to charge $10 to transfer the cassette. I called Provelo and talked to Chris who quickly found a wheel with nearly identical specs through one of their vendors for only $50, and it arrived in 3 business days. In addition, he readily agreed to switch out the cassette for free! I ended up saving $35+ and also got to deal with some extremely friendly and helpful staff members.I also came here to get a professional (Retul) fitting for my road bike after I started getting knee pains from riding. Greg spent a solid hour working with me and carefully adjusted and readjusted my bike until everything looked and felt great. It was well worth the money because my knees havent hurt again since. I also appreciated that I wasnt pressured to buy a different stem or seatpost like other bike shops have tried to do in previous fittings. This will be my go-to bike shop for the foreseeable future. With outstanding staff, good selection, and reasonable prices, it is easily one of the best bike shops around.

Today I purchaser a Cannondale CX105 from this store with the help of Cortney, Chris, and their wrencher whose name I most apologetically forget. I live out in the boonies of eastern Co and came into Ft Collins( a three hour drive) to buy a new cross bike after several phone conversations with other stores in town I chose to come into proVelo first and it was a great choice.Cortney listened to my needs and budget requirements and directed me to the best choice, by far. I received a great fitting and discounts on the accessories i purchased and on the TRP CX9s I upgraded to even though the bike was a discounted 2012 all in the most courteous and professional manner. Despite the fact Im not a racer boy cyclist just an avid amateur i received non demeaning care, this shouldnt matter but in 24 years of cycling in Florida, DC and N. Virginia, and CO, and visits to bike shops in many other states it has in many previous instances. I think I can safely say, this is the best bike shop I have ever used.I might not be a racer but I have been a randoneur ], a serious challenge event rider, and i take the riding i do seriously. I spent six years in the US Army as a paratrooper and I dont do any thing by halves so you raccers out there should consider this shop just as strongly as the casual rider. The bottom line, this shop rocks.
