They estimate high on the fuel they send you out with, and low on what they estimate you brought back. I took a 17 truck out, drove it 14 miles practically empty (moved a particle board pool table that my wife and I loaded and unloaded), brought it back after putting a gallon of gas into it, and was charged for two of their gallons on the backside. Their own website says the truck would get 10MPG loaded. Lesson: take pictures of the gas gauge so they dont screw you.Believe all the other 1 star reviews - go to one of the myriad other U-hauls around.

Unhelpful, dont care about the customer. Just all around awful experience. Ubox was supposed to be delivered today, when it wasnt we waited on hold for multiple hours with the location and U-Haul headquarters. When nothing came from that we physically went to the location, which could not tell us where the box is or when it will be delivered. Told us to come back the next day because its not our department that handles the UBox and that someone might be there tomorrow to answer our questions. Never will I ever trust U-Haul with anything again. Reporting to the BBB and

Do not use this location! After I returned my truck and the final contract was emailed to me, I noticed two fraudulent charges had been added. One was an incorrect fuel charge (uhauls online support eventually removed this charge when I presented photographic evidence I took of the dashboard after reading reviews of customers having similar issues at this location). The second fabricated charge was for returning the vehicle outside of service hours. I returned this vehicle at 11:30am on a day when they were open from 7am to 7pm (uhauls online support would not refund this for some reason, even though they could not defend it).

The Agents have a I dont care attitude. Its hit or miss here for good service. Most of the time the wait for propane is 15-20 minutes. Never come early or late because the excuse is that someone did not comei in or had to leave. Once had to come back 2 days in row for that excuse. Who cares that you are toting several propane canisters.

I ran into a rutt (my own doing). Tried to rectify it by calling several other U-Haul offices, Penske and Enterprise Trucks.I rented a truck, and underestimated the size needed. Brandy C. (Moving Center General Manager) was able to rectify and resolve my issue. Alleviated my stress and migraine. Sometimes people dont use empathy when resolving issues. Think outside the box. She did that, I am very appreciative.

They have things, which is good I guess. But historically they have the most mind-numbingly slow service... which is annoying when you just want to buy a box or some tape. Maybe they could benefit from an express lane, or just making their truck rental process faster.Thats one thing, but last week I stopped by for some supplies and the 2 employees running the registers were not wearing masks, and one of them was the manager (saw her name on the door as I was leaving).

I have made an instore booking and taken a 10 truck, its came fuel shortage I realize after sometime when I am on the road. I am a little bit hurry and I havent checked the mileage and return the vehicle without taking the picture or checked the miles because I believe the U-haul people. But I have a knowledge on many miles I drove, I drove 56 miles but for rounding, I am giving 60 miles or max 65 miles. When I checked the bill it says 118 miles so I called them, one lady picked up my call named Brandy. she talking rudely and saying you will get a text you need to verify the miles and if there is a discrepancy you need to say before go on the road. I said if dont go on the road how could I know the regarding the fault meter or scamming meter of that truck. She rudely repeating the same thing you have to check the vehicle and before you take off on the road and while returning the vehicle. I even requested to send me a picture of miles on the vehicle but she refused and said the vehicle is already on the road. I called at 8 AM, I didnt get how come that early vehicle goes on the road. Here the thing is I believed them, but they gave me the wrong bill and rudely responding.

Received good customer service today and yesterday. when we got to our pick up location in Hilton head South Carolina, we open the back of the truck and discovered there was a hole in the top. Called customer service and she worked very hard to get a service provider to come and patch the hole for us. We had to leave before the provider could get there, but Uhaul reimbursed us for the patch kit. Also when I got back to my home location in Durham, the lady who checked me in was very helpful, and especially friendly. Her name was Russia, like the country. Excellent service.

Do not use them unless you have no other choices. I have rented equipment and a ubox they always have issues with my ubox or the equipment I need. They have lost my box in the system twice and now I have to wait for them to load my ubox to the trailer, they didnt do it even after I called them a day ahead. Unprofessional 😠😠😠

This uhaul location was supposed to have our uboxes ready for our move, but they were delayed and they didn’t notify us as such. I tried call the locations direct line for hours and no one answered. They completely messed up my move and ended cost me a lot of extra money. Do not recommend using them under any circumstance.

Rented a truck to move a refrigerator and the agent placed two holds on my account. I waited an entire week to have my money released and its now the July 8th and the hold is still there. I have called numerous times to have nothing done and to be lied to about the hold being released. If you need anything updated or changed go thru the app or dont rent from here at all. The lady Brandy at the customer service desk does not know what shes doing and if never at the desk when you go on the store. Reconsider using this location

In the front desk was a girl named Itzel Silverio who was very mean and throw all the papers that I had to sign, she was not in a good mood, very very mean, disrespectful and bad actitud, she made many mistakes during the rental process and when the manager came blame on me. This is a very busy storage facility - expect a wait when you get there, especially at peak times. The reason its busy is because its such a popular facility at an ideal location. Do not go there expecting to be helped the moment you walk in. Other reviewers have left poor reviews because they had to wait to be helped. Seriously? Stop acting like a celebrity! If youre that entitled, why are you moving your own stuff? Get over yourself! The entire staff is hardworking and put up with a ton of attitude from overtired, disorganized people moving stuff they cant manage, then they take it out on the U-Haul staff when something doesnt go their way. These guys are great, and they know what theyre doing, but they cant fix your bad attitude. Give them a break!

Very disappointed with how management handles situations. I’ve been coming to this location for many years now and the staff has always been great. But this last time was horrible. It takes a great deal of time for the manager to answer phone calls from customers who have legitimate questions in regards to business. I feel as though there may be some sort of bias towards customers who appear to be minority’s. With that being said, I would hope the manager (Johnny Cameron) would train her staff adequately and have them refrain from giving people false hope or false advertising about certain things. Smh.

I didnt realize until I got home and reviewed the emailed receipt that I was charged for insurance that I never signed up for. I could not be any more positive that I did not opt-in for insurance because I reviewed my reservation several times in anticipation of my big move.I called customer service within an hour of returning the truck. I had to call during the week as well because it was still not refunded. Here we are a week later and they still have not refunded this insurance fee that was clearly shoved in there in the hopes it would be overlooked. Nothing will convince me otherwise that this is the strategy.This has nothing to do with the money...its the amount of time Ive had to put into trying to get this money back after the move was done. Ive got 900 other things to do after the big move, this shouldnt be one of them.Ill do business with another company from now on. Peace

I showed up 4 hours past the scheduled return time and was charged for an additional 24 hour fee. I requested to pay the pro-rated amount of that fee: since I was 4 hours late, I expected to pay for 4 hours - not 24 hours. The general manager was completely unwilling to cooperate. This is a very poor customer experience. I had a great experience at the Wilmington location, however the customer service at this Durham location is severely lacking.

I am disgusted at this locations so-called manager Johnny Cameron. After I called multiple times & left her voicemails on different occasions, til this day I am waiting on a call back. I had to call yet again to try and reach her while on my way there for a simple question that could’ve been answered yes or no the first time I tried to reach out. I even called the customer service line and had them email her multiple times as well and they couldn’t get a hold of her. When I finally come in contact with this lady (bc I called the store and was lucky she was there) she simply replied with a NO and didn’t even have the audacity to apologize for not returning any of my messages from 3 days ago. Her employees are giving out false information & she wants to get upset with the customer as if it’s our fault. Poor management with NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT ALL!!

These people are not good. Ive rented their trucks in the past and everything was good until the last van I rented. They added mileage and gas charges and I topped up the gas to the same level, as if it was not enough, they told me that I drove for 37 miles yet I only drove for just below 20 miles. One of their morons needs to have his/her head checked.

Ultimately my experience here at uHaul was terrible ! First, had trouble finding the Uhaul i bought due to terrible system. Once i found my uhaul they gave me the wrong size, so i had to go back and get the right size. Then they gave the right size but had EXTREME ODOR AND WAS VERY DIRTY. I presented the issue with them and the was nothing but excuses ! NEVER AGAIN !!!! Terrible Costumer service, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Had an order to pick up three grand-wardrobe boxes. Arrived at specified time after already paying a month in advance and they were out of stock. I asked if there were in any in the whole facility, was told no. On my way out, after our cashing others, found 1 grand wardrobe on the shelf. Wasted about 40 minutes of my time with the line wait.

Easy to find and the parking area was clean and orderly. I didnt have to rent a uhaul here, just return a trailer for a friend. So, I didnt actually have to deal with much of the staff except a young gentleman who helped me parked and unhooked the trailer. He was friendly and helpful. Nothing outstanding about the visit, but nothing bad.

Need more workers on Saturdays, considering it is one of the busiest days of the week, and college students are moving back in. They just didnt seem prepared to handle customers needs in a timely manner. We waited in line for 25 minutes just to receive a lock. Unheard of!!!

After 25 minutes and two requests to ask for propane tanks to be filled the guy gave me some line about the tanks not being certified. Ive been there several times and previous workers never questioned that. It was obvious he did not know how to fill the tanks but did not want to.

Rented a motorcycle trailer to transport my vehicle to the dealer in Greensboro for service. This was my first time using my SUV for hauling. I was grateful for the requested pre-inspection which insured that all went well on delivery day. Both Johnny and Dyonte (hope I got the spelling correct) were exceptional in their customer service. I will NEVER EVER rent from uhaul again...what i went through yesterday sealed the deal. From 1pm-7pm i went through so many reps and no one to help me after waiting for hours they (Manager) hung up on me and didn’t even call back i had to drive a loaded truck to the location all calls were sent to customer service not the actual store (no customers in site when i got there) Then being charged for gas today (through email) after i put gas in it which it was only on half tank and i put $35.00. Your gage on the paperwork and the truck looks nothing alike. So how could anyone ever be so accurate. Poor service poor maintenance for the trucks overall horrible experience.

Poor service, no follow up, utter fail.I ordered a hitch and installation for my car and scheduled the service via the U-Haul Website. I received email confirmation of my order and appointment. Appointment day arrived and received a call that the hitch had not yet arrived, but that I would get status call back that day. I never received a call back from this location. I called the location 3 times over 3 days, each time I was forwarded to a CSR in Texas who could not even tell me if the hitch had been shipped let alone any tracking info. The CSR knew nothing about the status but said they would contact the location for a callback to me. No callback received.I finally called the nationwide U-Haul customer support line. They couldnt tell me anything about the shipping status of the hitch, where it was, or even if it was shipped to the dealer.Fail.

07/29/2017I had the worst experience at this uhaul location.I went in to rent a trailer. I was helped by a younger lady that was new.She tried her best to help me as best she could to get a hitch for my jeep.After the trailer was hooked and i was ready to go, the manager said no soft top vehicles could tow. This manager had NO customer service skills. He provided no reason. He dropped the trailer and basically said get the f out here. He didnt offered any other solutions.The new girl trying to help ask numerous men workers to help and NO ONE offered to help.The manager was a complete uneducated ass . I spent an hour there to be told on my way driving out. I could not rent it. No apology. Ill never do business there again.

Thank you so much to this location!!! Customer service on another level. S/o yo Johnny the woman manager and I cant recall the other manager (a middle aged bald black male) for taking care of me time and time again! Had a unit here for work and they were very helpful whenever I had an inquiry or needed something done.Also I just recently moved with uBox and although Ubox still has a bunch of kinks to work out and Uhaul needs to teach their corporate phone operators more about how the services works as well as some of the clerks the manager team told me when my box was picked up and that I should be receiving it soon. I would give Uhaul 3 stars but this location deserves 5+. Thank you guys for making it easy.

Jamaal was the person I dealt with at the front desk. He was really slow as he entered my address wrong in the system three different times. No biggie, but he just wasnt focusing. I had to keep giving him my ID. So after 20 mins with him, I asked if he could please hurry because I had to turn in keys for my rental and was in a super time crunch. After I said that, he got a huge attitude with me. I asked if he just just please continue and he stopped my entire service and kept saying you need to calm down, I am going to sit here and do nothing until you do. I then asked for the manager. He told me he was the manager and he continued to say (since he knew I was in a hurry) Ive got all day.. how about that??!!. What? What are you going to do? My personal address is ............ I dare you to come see me. I was in complete shock. I have never had someone in customer speak to me that way, ever!! Finally, a worker came in and asked what was going on. He gave me a card to the real manager. After that, Jamaal abruptly turned around the phone, and said go ahead and call i=him, he aint gonna do nothing! Go ahead, I DARE you! Everyone in the store was in absolute SHOCK for him speaking to me that way. He was bullying me! He stared at me and waited until I was silent for a full minute before completing my order. If I started to ask him to please continue, he kept telling me nope! I walked out of the store shaking. I have used UHaul a hand full of times i n the last decade, but I will never use UHaul again because of my last experience with him. His manager did call me back and said he would take care of this. But please let me assure you, We ended up in a yelling match because I have never had a man speak to me that way, especially in customer service. The guy that was behind me in line, later saw me driving away. He actually apologized to me on Jamaals behalf, saying that he could not believe what had just happened. That even HE (the customer behind me) felt ashamed.This location is on Hywy 70, between Raleigh and Durham.

I had problems with my services from the very beginning. On the day of delivery, UBox was delivered 2 hours late, meaning I had to pay the movers extra as they waited around. The UBox was taken to this Durham NC location and shipped prematurely to my next location (1 month early). I was instructed that they all would be ready for unloading on Sept 30th. I get there with movers and only 2 of the 3 Uboxes are there. The third I was told was at another location and needed to be delivered to this location. We waited around for almost an hour for the delivery driver to go pick if up and deliver it to the correct Ubox location. Since I was paying movers by the hour, I instructed them to call me when the box shows up. I did not get a call and after my movers had finished unloading the 2 UBoxes into my apartment, I called to check on the last UBox. They informed me that despite notification that my Ubox had arrived, it actually was no where to be found. Obviously enraged, I tried to get a hold of anyone at this Durham NC office to see where my stuff was sent. I was unable to get any clear answers as to where my belongings were, if they had been shipped, etc. Several days later I get a call that my UBox had arrived. I go to unload it only to find out THEY SHIPPED THE WRONG BOX. My key would not work in the lock so the manager opened the box to be sure it wasnt my stuff before sending it back. At this point, I was charged shipping twice (once for the two boxes and another for the last box), totaling $3,000 and still did not have all of my belongings. I tried to call customer service to complain and no one would provide me with a corporate number. I was told that I had to speak with the general manager at the Durham NC location in order to get any answers. After several (I mean more than 15 calls) speaking to different people, I was able to get my box tracked down based on my memory of the ACTUAL PADLOCK! They mis-labeled my UBox, which means they shipped the incorrect one. Even after the general manager found my UBox it took them 3 additional weeks to get it shipped. When I called to complain about it, I was offered free UBox delivery to my home but that was it. THEN to make matters worse, I was STILL charged the shipping fee. I have not been able to get a refund for shipping, nor for me having to pay TWO sets of movers extra time while UHaul employees told me my UBoxes were on the way and they were NOT. I will NEVER in a million years do business with this company again and will be making a formal complaint soon.Oh and to make matters worse, my couch was broken, as well as some coffee mugs. Do yourself a favor and just use PODS, MUCH better customer service!!!!

I wanted insurance on the box, and the guy checking me out didnt add it. I have been calling, emailing, and asking for insurance, and no one responds. I hope my box isnt molded, as I found out they left it in the rain a few days after I got it! And someone at the new raleigh office LIED to me! They said the box was at this location, but it was still on glennwood in the rain.

Terrible customer service. Called me 2 hours before my reservation to see if I could push pickup out an hour on account of another customer extending their reservation.I obliged; but when I went to finally pick up the truck, they had bumped my reservation to another location 5 miles away. No notification, and no accountability. Stick with the little guys, at least they care about their customers.
