Seriously worst customer service experience of my life. Avoid this place at all cost. They are incredible rude. I called before I made an appointment to have wiring installed for a hitch to ensure someone was there to complete the work and I was told yes. When I arrived I was told the person who handled electrical hadnt had a break and was done for the day. I was then called a liar when I said I had called earlier and spoke to a woman who confirmed someone was there that could complete the work. They said there wasnt a woman that worked there...Then I called back for a refund and they started yelling at me saying I didnt give them a reservation number or my name and put me on hold. Called back put on hold immediately again. Called back and they unsuccessfully put me on hold and I could hear them saying they werent going to help me and they didnt want to deal with me today. I said I can still hear you...you didnt put me on hold and they hung up on me. The GM and employees are beyond rude and do not deserve your business.

PLEASE listen to others who say this is the worst U-Haul theyve ever been to. I think Ive been to over a dozen U-Haul locations and this is BY FAR the worst experience Ive ever had at one. The manager is inexcusably rude and condescending. Literally laughing at me on the way out with his buddies when I eventually left out of frustration. Zero even basic competence. If I cant trust you to use basic common sense and honor your own policy, I sure as hell dont trust you to make sure my hitch is safe or store my belongings. Please for the love of god do not go to this U-Haul location.

This is my worst experience with U-Haul. They are not helpful not at all nice to customers I don’t know how U-Haul hired them because they don’t know how to treat a customers. They are laughing on customers faces and not providing good service. Providing wrong information and this is my last going to this place. Not at all good experience.

If looking for extra storage, out of want or need...STAY AWAY. Dont even stop by for prices. It feels like a BAIT AND SWITCH. The sign out front says one thing and they will tell you that price all day. Then, the end of month comes around and its a different fee. All of the sudden, you are charged another price. Even though the signs are still there with the same reasonable price. WRONG!!!My thinking is, the owners - train/teach the employees to tell you the price is good, no matter what. They forget to tell you they charge different prices for an upper and lower level. If you walk into the store, you would have a VERY HARD time finding IT.Believe me! Even on the flyer they provided it is not labeled. Not even remotely. I must have read that paper more than a dozen times and still did not see a supposedly price difference for upper and lower levels. When asked, ALL employees feed you the same U-Haul script. The manager...not even worth speaking to. He says the same thing too!!! Hes just another employee.STAY AWAY... STAY AWAY!!! There are other locations that offer bigger spaces at lower prices. If any lawyers are reading this...do I have a case? Bait and switch! Check it out!Needless to say: I only lasted the month. Then, went somewhere else. Unfortunately, I have heard similar stories from others. Wish I had known beforehand. Pass the word around to others...STAY AWAY!!!

What a great experience. The management and any member of the entire team provided the best service. They took a load off my mind and it was more than just the 15 truck. Loved the entire group. Dont know how any experience could have been better.

I returned my truck and trailer here after an interstate move. I called on my way into town to ask if I was allowed to drop off the trailer a day early after hours. The employee told me I could drop it off in the parking lot and that he was going to be in the next morning and could process it then. The next day, we brought the truck back (on time) and confirmed with the employee that the trailer had been returned the previous evening. A week later, I received a bill for an extra day of rental on the trailer saying I returned it a day late! The bill included a contact email for questions and concerns. I wrote to dispute the charge but still have never received a response. I am really frustrated by the service here. The trailer was returner EARLY and somehow I am paying for an extra day.

Sure, they have a lot of options and vehicles here. But the staff is never available to help at the counters, and the person who helped me took a personal call right in front of me chatting it up in the middle of my trying to check out a truck.

Staff very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. U-Hauls trailer rentals are a bargain. Trailers are well maintained, solid, and very stable, but make sure you abide by U-Hauls loading instructions. Highly recommend reserving on-line and ahead of time. Trucks and trailers book up fast especially around college move-in times. This U-Haul facility can install hitches and harnesses and also flip drop/rise for hitch balls / adapters - their installation is great and they use high quality hitches and accessories. I see that there are some bad reviews here, which is somewhat confusing.

Got a hitch installed on a new 2020 Mazda CX-5. In and out in 40 minutes. I booked the appointment though U-hauls online site and called ahead before my appointment to make sure the part was in. Great folks and great experience. Tip: Book your appointment first thing in the morning middle of the month as they were dead at that time!!

The storage unit was absolutely tiny. It says split level so I assumed it to be bigger however DONT BE FOOLED. Great if you have a couple of storage bins however if you are looking for a place to hold your belongings in between a move ( with about 2+ rooms worth of stuff) DONT DO IT. I got the unit the 30th of June, attempted to move our things the 4th of July, and called to tell them it was too small and I cant use it on the 5th and they said they dont prorate and they were still charging me for the month. Very upset with the customer service I receive and I dont recommend them at all! I would suggest touring the unit first, wish I wasnt pressed for time or I would have done so prior. Lesson learned.

Clean areasbut the customer service is terrible this morning...waited about 10 mins at propane pump as directions list on sign for someone to come out talking on the personal phone not realizing I had been waiting. Even if machines malfunction the person should be questioning why a random truck is just sitting by propane fill up station.

Reserved a truck and moving supplies a month in advance. I checked in the night before pickup and got a call in the morning saying that everything was ready, yet when I arrived they did not have half of the moving supplies I had reserved, and already paid for, and asked that I instead purchase items I was had reserved to rent. Staff was neither professional nor courteous. Poor communication and service caused major delays to our move.

Everytime I come here my visa is ridiculously over charged!!!!Whoever the rude lady is I just spoke with can relax, you just work at uhaul its not that serious. And this is my money, I can call as many times as I want. Get is right the first time and we will NOT be having these problems.This is why black people gets no respect, because of people like You.

Avoid at all costs!! I was overcharged and it took 4 trips back to the store and several phone calls to hopefully get it rectified. Staff is very nonchalant and no one seems to know what is going on. I finally spoke to the GM so hopefully it is correct at this point. Too much time wasted. I just wanted to get a truck to bring some items to the rescue mission instead i got a giant hassle. Extremely disappointed

Poor experience here. Needed a hitch, and employee simply said he couldn’t get the part in on time. We called the Raleigh location on Capital Blvd and they happily ordered Express shipping. Wonder why this location couldn’t be bothered to try?

I made a reservation for a trailer hitch to be put on my truck February 15, 2020. I tried to make the reservation online, but the website would not cooperate so I drove to the store the next day. When I got to the facility the representative physically looked at my truck explained what I needed and wrote up an order for the service to be provided. He told me to come in early thursday because they may be able to get to me early. Instead I went in on Wednesday hoping they would be able to instal it earlier. To my surprise they claim they had been calling me. I had one missed call NO MESSAGE!!! They were under the assumption that I was bringing my own part in. WHAT? Michael tells me they do not have the hitch I need and they would have to get it from another store. Thursday I do not get a call, Friday the hitch area is being repaved or something Michael tells me to come on Saturday at 12 he would put my hitch on. Today I go to Uhaul Michael isnt even scheduled to work. Also my part still isnt there. What kind of business does this to their customers?

I made this reservations weeks in advance. Set the pickup location somewhere convenient for my needs. I even confirmed with that location via phone the week before i was scheduled to arrive. The day before scheduled pickup U-Haul called and said the equipment was not available at that location and that I would have to drive 20 miles out of my way to another location for pick up. That was frustrating enough but when I got to that location they did not have the specified equipment available either. At this point I was getting very upset with the situation. The manager (Stephanie) was able to find the equipment at another location. She did this with absolutely no apology for my inconvenience. I found her resistance to even perform that task a poor example of customer service. I am totally dissatisfied with the LACK OF service at the location (4409 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd, Durham, NC). I had to drive an additional 15 miles out of my way to the third location.

Customer service here is horrible. I almost feel reverse discrimination. Everyone walks away from you. They switch computers all the time moving the lines everywhere. This is a service orienated business. Everyone here hates their job.

I had to move on a saturday so it was understandably busy. the employee was apologetic once we reached the counter and he was really nice and friendly. asked about my move and got me a cargo van instead of the pick up i originally reserved because it was more spacious and i could have it for longer. when i returned, they were slammed, and i expected it to take forever to return the van. the employee outside was super quick and friendly though. i was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the staff and how they handled a very busy day.

Reliable truck rental in the area. They came through for me last minute after Budget ended up not having a truck available after confirming my reservation the day before. Very accommodating and friendly service - definitely recommend for your moving needs in the area!

I made a specific reservation at a specific location that was five minutes from my house for a two hour project on a specific date and time. I expected to have the equipment available to me as requested. Upon arrival, I was told my reservation had been to moved to a location 40 minutes further away--meaning that U-Haul expected me to add 2 and half hours to my day and the added gas expense for their convenience. Their were five locations closer and more convenient. I was told that I wasnt eligible for their $50 guarantee that the right equipment will be available at the right time because they gave me a reasonable alternative.

Everything was great the day I rented it. Great help. Then now 5 days later im still getting charged for q truck that was returned 2 days ago, as well as a few for taking it to the wrong place(which nobody told me it was that stores truck) I tried to call the store and spoke to 3 different individuals and nobody could help except tell me to bring the truck to their location from the other. And that Id still be charged

Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Charged me extra $28 when I had already returned van on the same day. So that makes them irresponsible too. They cant even f keep track of who returned van on which date.

If zero stars was an option I would pick it. Terrible customer service. We returned our truck on time, only to fight with them to later to reverse a charge for an extra day. After we resolved the overcharge we had to call again as we received a second charge for not folding our furniture pads (which is something no one at the start or finish informed us we needed to do). We called the corporate office with no response. We will never rent from this uhaul again.

We waited for over an hour in line to get our truck. When we finally got to the front of the line, we were told that our reservation had been inexplicably changed from a week to 24 hours. The man helping us said he couldnt find anything for the amount of time we needed, although thankfully he eventually found a smaller truck that worked. Im only giving more than one star because the employee we talked with was helpful, and the reservation issue wasnt his fault. He seemed very tired, though. I think the working conditions could be vastly improved at this location.

We rent from this store frequently and never have a problem. They always recommend different items to us and 2 of the guys even came to help us move once BC im in a wheelchair and they knew we couldnt do it all ourselves. Great customer service and fast and reliable. They also just got some new vans, rented us one with 800 miles on it and we loved it. I would give 10 stars if I could!

Not helpful at helping me find what I needed, just waved me towards the corner. Finally found what I needed, then stood for longer than expected at the counter only to be told they dont take cash because they dont have change. Wouldnt reccomend. Pleny of other Uhaul stores in the area.

One stop service for all your moving and storage needs. The rental trucks and vans are well maintained and clean. They have propane. The selection of moving supplies is good. There is on-site storage. Service is friendly.

The movers that I selected off the Uhaul website, World Class Labor, damaged an antique and have REFUSED to pay for it. DO NOT USE Movinghelp,com, they are a shell and total scam! Uhaul will do NOTHING FOR YOU, it is a RIP OFF!! I am going to have to sue Uhaul, and World Class Labor to get any reimbursement.

These guys are so nice. They help select what you need, and also will help carry the equipment out. They have everything you could possibly need for a move, and will buy back unused supplies! Highly recommend.

If I could rate this place a zero I would. No one answers the phone, or help box, or returns an email, or applies a payment to your account!!! I have made several complaints to customer service and no one cares!!! Every month I pay in advance of my due date but my check sits on their desk for two weeks!!! Then I receive a lien notice and a lock on my unit!!! Avoid this store!!!

Terrible experience. Trying (still) to get a hitch installed - they cancelled 30 mins before my appointment saying the part wasnt in (after 10 days) and I couldnt get hold of anyone to resolve - nobody picks up the phone. Then I got a survey from u-haul asking for my satisfaction on the completed order. Trouble is, it still isnt installed - over 3 wks now. Their service is, quite frankly, disgusting.

Staff was very nice and helpful. Only deducting a star because it is always a very long wait to get to the staff. Might be helpful is there was someone available to help people not renting a truck.

Called in, mentioned I had my own hitch and just needed installation. They gave me a quote ($70) and set up an appointment for me. I arrive there at the scheduled time and they say they cant honor the quote they gave me 2 days ago and that the real price would be $ 140. What a waste of time... cant recommend this place when staff can barely understand what they are doing.

Bad service.Half a year ago my friend and I rent a U-haul here. They didn’t fill the tank fully at the beginning but we didn’t discover that. After using the truck we added 1 gallon gas and supposed that should be more than enough (we drove only 14 miles).The employees charged us 10$, insisting that we didn’t fill in enough gas. We explained and showed them the odometer (14 miles in total), telling them it’s actually their fault. They are totally indifferent, and the response is: “you have signed the contract at the very beginning (to confirm that the gas was full, even it is actually NOT).”Alright, it’s our fault. And in Walmart, it would be my fault if I bought an expired food, because I didn’t check carefully at the very beginning, right?

Never had any issues with these guys. Rented twice, every time a small truck. Everything worked smooth (booked online, came and pick up as per scheduled).Good and responsive staff.

Rude customer service. Vehicles aren’t clean. If you are worried about COVID DO NOT use their trucks.

Truck was there running with A/C going, ready to go. This was after booking it in less than one day notice. Check in took less than five minutes, same with checkout. No BS, straight to the point, get it done. Will be using them again in the future for sure.

I used them last year just as a drop off, the store was large and seemed nice, so I used them this year as my pick up, when I arrived they didnt have the car trailer ready that I had ordered them the uhaul I was given the seat belt was broken so I was delayed in getting my move started. I noticed I was charged for insurance on the trailer that I opted out of, call the first lady confirms that I didnt get the insurance but cant help me and will have someone call, someoneelse calls and they said a manager needs to do it. The next day I get another call again stating I need to talk to a manager...ok Ive been waiting for a manager I dont know why I keep getting calls from reps. I called Tuesday, after not reviving a call Mon and was disconnected so waited, its Thursday and still no call so call again and my request was never submitted. Very dissatisfied with the service and how this was handled, or lack of being handled.

Very large Uhaul location. Always busy but they have fast service and a wide selection of trucks. Centrally located in south Durham

One star is generous for my most recent experience with this location. Completely unacceptable customer service. The manager, Stephanie, was extremely rude and apathetic. I was largely inconvenienced during my move by not receiving necessary equipment that I EXPLICITLY asked for and was guaranteed, by the STORE MANAGER at the time of checking me out, would be in the truck at the time of rental. I ended up having to return to the UHaul store mid-move to get the needed equipment (wasting additional time, gas, and money of my own as I was renting a mid-size truck by the hour and by the mile) without NO compensation for the extra expense of returning to the store and not even anything close to an apology. In fact, I was even told by the manager not to get snippy when I attempted to voice my complaint. Ultimately, the missing equipment ended up adding over 2 hours to my move, 30+ miles, and an extra quarter+ tank of gas. I will NEVER use this facility for any of my moving needs again and I recommend others do not either because it was obvious to me that this location has NO regard for the quality of their customer service.

I WOULD NOT RENT A TRUCK FROM THIS UHAUL PLACE...I booked a 10 moving truck to move across country. I booked it a month in advance to make sure I get it. The person at the store told me that they would contact me around 6pm the day before to tell me the exact pick up time. When I called a few days before the day I was supposed to rent a trunk, they told me that their is no trunk in the 80 mile radius, and that only way I can get a truck is to drive out to VA (1.5h drive) to get a 14 truck. If I had not called a few days early, my move had been a disaster.They clearly do not understand what reservation means. When I talked to my friends about this, the same thing had happened to a few of them. They recommended Penske as a reliable alternative.

Good service but theyre ungodly expensive. I rented a 26 foot penske truck for 3 days for the price of a one day 10 foot rental here. (I drove a lot of miles)

I rented a Uhaul Ubox from this location. After paying for it up front and requesting that it be shipped immediately on June 4 with a 12-day estimated shipping time from the time you request the box to be shipped, this location apparently held on to my box without shipping it until I received an email indicating they had finally gotten around to shipping it on June 21st.They didnt bother shipping it until after it was supposed to have arrived!And I still had to wait the transit time for my box to be shipped across the country.

Unfriendly staff. Doesnt acknowledge customers as they enter the store. This is the complete opposite experience that I had 2 days ago because it was a different staff.

The store manager, stephany, at this store was very rude. She made me want to never work with uhaul ever again. The store messed up my appointment and stephany tried to blame me for the issue. However the young gentlemen who ultimately helped me in the end was a delight so kind and helpful. But I wont be going back here as long as stephany is working here.
