I edited my review from 5 to 2 stars.Pete said that power steering fluid leaked and I had to replace the rack for $2500. I asked if the leaking spot can be repaired and he said no, the whole rack has to be replaced. As the car is old, he doesnt recommend fixing it, and I have to replace power steering fluid all the time.I did for a few weeks, and then the leak got much worse. The fluid would all leak out right after being replaced. I thought I had to get a new car.The cars are extremely expensive right now. Dealerships add $12-15,000 on top of MSRP price, and 3 year old cars are more expensive than MSRP for new cars. So, I thought I might just replace the rack instead. I looked up the rack replacement for my car model, make and year... its $900-1200 depending on location. I was flabbergasted. Pete said $2500.I took my car to another shop, and the mechanic replaced the leaking hose for $300. Thats it. It doesnt leak anymore. Not sure if I can trust Classic Car shop anymore. There is a huge difference between $300 and $2500 repair.Original review: Pete is the best mechanic. Always honest, reasonable prices.

If youre shopping for a mechanic, youve found it. This shop was recommended to me, and Im so glad I gave them a try. They were patient with a slow insurance claim and went above and beyond to make sure my repairs were done expertly and within my budget. They treated me like family from start to finish and took the time to make sure I understood everything. Ill be going to them from now and would highly recommend you give them a call.

Pete was incredibly kind and fix my right front bumper promptly. I heard him recommending another auto shop with the phone number to a customer who had specific repair needs. This is a great shop, and I highly recommend it.

Avoid this shop at all cost, they will waste your time! I was told my A/C recharge and conversion would take 3 hours, almost 4 hours later not a thing was done to my car.I called in last week to schedule my appointment with them and made sure that they could do the job before I committed to driving up 40 min to their shop, they said he could and he has done these sort of things before.Well I dropped my car off at 0800 sharp and he said it would be done in 3 hours. When I called their shop 2.5 hours later they informed me that they didnt have all the parts they needed but that it was being delivered by NAPA. So that tells me he lied to me when I called to schedule the appointment, right from the very beginning. they didnt even bother calling me to tell me that there was a delay, I had to keep calling them to check up on things. That is very unprofessional, if you run into an issue you should call the customer and let them know that there will be a delay. I guess they dont care about that and are fine with wasting our time. When I told them I was going to pick up the car they told me we are sending someone to go pick up your part so they couldnt even get their own story straight.I will never go to this place again, be warned... they will waste your time so just go somewhere else.

Pete and the team at Classic Car shop are wonderful. My car stopped running during the pandemic and in less then 24 hours, Pete had my vehicle back up and running. Such a relief to have a honest local business close to home during these times. Will be back again for all my future auto needs.

Classic Car does great body work for reasonable prices. They are very honest. If you have been in an accident Pete will tell you what it will cost to repair everything perfectly and what you actually need to do. We had an older car that someone backed into the front. The insurance company totaled it. Pete fixed it so you had to know what to look for to see anything. And he did it for a fraction of the price of what the insurance company paid and the car ran great for a number of years after. They do regular car repairs as well.

Friendly staff and excellent service always make needing maintenance a significantly better experience than it otherwise would be. They go out of their way to get you the best prices, and will let you know when something is worth replacing rather than making them rich having it repaired it over and over. The quality of their work is excellent; Ive had significant body work done here that came back looking just like new, and at a very reasonable price. Their repairs last, they really know what they are doing, and after many years coming here Ive never once felt like I havent gotten an honest and fair deal. Sometimes I wonder if their strategy is to be so great that they ultimately guilt me into coming in more often than I otherwise might - as an excuse to say hi!Im a big fan of this place and the wonderful people who work here. Five stars, absolutely.

Getting my car back into drive able condition was made easier and less financially painful by this shop. I was dealt with professionally and there is clearly experience and thoroughness that goes into the work. I had a slightly cheaper quote from another shop but I felt far more comfortable using Classic Car to get the job done with their experience and the itemized estimate. The only hiccup was at the end when the total was significantly higher than the estimate due to the extent of damage, however after they realized I was never informed as the repairs were being made they reduced the price back to the original estimate right there. I definitely plan on going back for any future needs.

I imagine that the two recent complaints are false, as Ive known Pete for years, and have had him work on my car, and he has never shown rudeness nor unkindness. There is a reason that they trust him with valuable antique cars, and he is the only mechanic I now use. Highly recommended.

Pete is incredibly rude and nasty! I was told that my vehicle was going to be ready in 3 days for pickup; It was not, it ended being over 10 days. The reason being is that he did NOT start work on it until after day 5, stating lame and unprofessional excuses. I requested to be updated on the status, and he refused to call me. I called him each and every time. Every conversation he was rude, brushed me off, was flippant, and belittling. After I informed him that he was in fact, rude and nasty, he hung up on me...a paying customer that in 2 different appointments, had given Classic Car almost 2 thousand dollars worth of work. When I finally picked up my vehicle, thats when the unprofessionalism hit an all-time low. My car was dead. They left a couple lights on, and my vehicle needed to be jumped (not by Pete, another employee). This employee, while smoking, placed not one, but TWO jumper cables onto my battery to jump it. When I questioned him, he stated that it would give my vehicle extra juice so I could make it all the way home (an hour and a half away). I thought it was odd, but Im no mechanic. Finally the battery was charged when I noticed the entire inside of my car was filthy with grease and muck. It was deplorable. I was so angry that I just wanted to go home. Upon leaving, I noticed my steering wheel was making a scrapping sound when I turned and the wheel was lopsided. I took the vehicle back, and Pete was incredibly rude when I questioned the issue. He told me that they didnt place the clips back properly and fixed it without apologizing. I informed him of the complete dirty state of the vehicle, including the windshield that was covered in finger and oily head prints. He looked at me like I was nuts. I ended up stopping at a gas station to clean the windshield so I could drive home safely. On the way home, my cd player started ejecting nonstop without a cd in it. I couldnt get it to stop, even with the stereo turned off. Then when I arrived at home to pick up my children, I noticed the sliding door no longer worked on the drivers side rear passenger. It was stuck shut. I called Pete the next day to inform him of all the issues, and he told me I could bring it back up to be looked at, but it would be on my dime because there is no way he can tell that the door/cd player wasnt like that prior. I was so angry. I yelled at him, and he hung up on me. I ended up taking the vehicle somewhere else to replace the battery, and alerted the new mechanic of the door/cd player. He told me that the were short circuited because of the double jumper cables. It was like a huge power surge. To top it off, he noticed that the plastic piece underneath my windshield wipers was severely cracked, which wasnt before. Classic Car had to take out my dash to fix the problem and cracked it. AVOID this place at all costs! Especially Pete. He doesnt give a crap about his customers and is a complete and utter horses butt! The most unprofessional man I have ever met; he truly should be ashamed of himself!@Robert Gelinas: My experience with Pete and Classic Car is NOT false. You may have had a good experience with them, but I didnt. My review was based on my circumstances, for which you werent privy to. Im not claiming your experience was false, so I would appreciate it if you werent so rude in to saying mine was. I have 2 witnesses to how awful he was to me, including an employee at FreedomCar. But, you go ahead and think Pete is aces, that says a lot about your character.
