A nightmarish experience. I spent $1300 to have my exhaust system replaced, and left with my car much louder than it was before. Long story short, I have had to bring the car back seven times over the process of them acknowledging? realizing? the part that they installed was faulty and attempting to replace it. Im still not sure if theyve replaced it because the person Ive been dealing with at the front desk is the surliest, least helpful, least communicative auto shop employee Ive ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Ive honestly had more pleasant pap smears. Id give it 0 stars if I could.

The previous team is gone!! I was a previous loyal customer of Ricks. I took my car to Rick every time I had issues - whether it is tire patch (always free!) or oil change (20-30 dollars). I took my car there yesterday for a tire replacement. The customer service was minimal and below satisfactory - I barely got any information from the mechanic about the service he will be performing, let alone a choice on tires. I am comparing this experience with a recent tire replacement experience at another auto service chain for my other car, where I was given a variety of choices of tires with a good price range. I was quoted 145 for a single tire replacement, which is a lot higher compared to the 250 I paid for a two-tire replacement at this other auto service. What is worse is that when my boyfriend went to pick up the car today, he was up-charged to 160 for no apparent reason. i feel very much ripped off for the service I received and I will never return to Monro again. Based on some other yelp reviews, this rather shady practice seems to be the way that the current team does business. I would recommend that people, especially the previous customers of Ricks, go elsewhere if you dont want a massive disappointment.

Having been going to Monro for several years. My last visit I was told Rick was no longer at this location. I was glad to see Andrew was still there. The new mgr wasnt friendly at all! Went back today for an oil change. Website stated they would open at 730am. I got there at 730 only to find the door sign stated 8am. Several customers were also there waiting. Why 2 different opening times? I also noticed not alot of cars on the lot like it used to be. Apparently folk are taking there biz elsewhere due to the mgmt. Now Andrew is no longer there!!! Monro has lost my biz. No recent positive reviews all negative. Rick and Andrew were the best. Bring them back and you will see a difference at that location!

Fairly disappointing experience. I had an appointment scheduled today. When I arrived, I was told that one of the mechanics did not show up, but that they would get to it by the end of the day. Apparently they did not but failed to communicate that to us. While it is understandable to be short staffed, I would hope there would be some sort of contingency plan, or at least an attempt to let us know, especially since they are not open on Sunday. Despite multiple attempts to reach them to get an update, no one picked up. Given the lack of follow through, I do not recommend their service.

I called in the evening and was given an appointment for the next morning to get my breaks checked. They got started about 10 mins after I got here and were very professional. I was told what needed to be done right away and what could wait. I appreciated the time Al took going over everything with me. Price was better than I expected. Will come here again.

Please do not go there! Women, watch out! This place is dirty, there is only one mechanic. The other employee does not work on cars. If you use to get your car worked on there, it is different now. The two employees that use to work there (Rick and Drew), are no longer there. Those two guys had loyal followings (customers). All of there customers have left. Due to the lack of customers, the charges for repairs are much higher. There is knit picking on what they will charge and how much. This is to compensate for the lack of business they have lost and losing. Upper management do not care about loyalty. After over 30 years of employment, Rick is getting over COVID after being let go. Drew quit because of poor business practices.

Monro Auto Service and Tire has amazing service and customer care. They are a very honest business and even recommended I go to my dealership because it would save me money even though it meant a lost job on their end. The work they did was great. Highly recommend!

This is the go-to repair shop in Baltimore City. I take in my Mazda 3 for regular service - oil change & filter, tires, everything. They are very honest and hardworking. Its a great value because Ive had no major issues with my car. I will usually drop my car off and pick it up later the same day. Im always very pleased with the work and when I ask questions, I always get great advice. I replaced my tires with them, rear shocks, and front struts (Baltimore City roads). Work was excellent.

Their customer service was wonderful. in offering me a viable resolution that I could afford and I had my car up and with same day service. Rick Claycomb at Monro on Howard St went above and beyond to give me just about the best automotive service I’ve had. He understood my car, talked to me like an old friend, and had me out the door and driving the same day for many, many times less $$$ than the estimate of the competitor next door (you know, the one whose tires shredded in the ‘90s). I’ll be back to Monro for more service because they’ve got a gem in Rick.

This is now the only auto shop I will go to. Theyre extremely professional and treat all customers with the same respect. On more than one occasion theyve even fixed mistakes another shop made. The location is well-marked and easy to find with plenty of parking.

My daughter comes from Philly just to go to this location because they are so professional and always go that extra mile..Mr. Rick is such a sweet guy. On many occassions I have called him to see if he could put air in my tires and he always says, Just come on in. no charge. We are always greeted with a warm smile from him or Andrew. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!

Rick no longer manages the shop. Prices have increased tremendously and they have lost a loyal customer after 9 years. I was overcharged for brakes and rotors. Went to another licensed shop and the estimate was 75% cheaper than what Monro was charging me. Also found out the service that I needed was not what Monro told me. Now that they are under new management, you should get a 2nd opinion about your car.

I went here because my cars heat was not working. Even though the shop seemed to be very full and the mechanics seemed busy they took care of my car really quickly. The customer service was great and Ill definitely come back here any time in the future I need work done on my car. I was worried about being taken advantage of/overcharged because I dont know a lot about cars, but they were great at answering all of my questions and didnt charge me for simple fixes like refilling my coolant.

Sense when brakes and rotors repairs cost almost 5 hundred dollars i knew once i walked in the door the way the guy was looking at me he was thinking i got one. I think tf not went somewhere else paid half that price . Oh yeah then when i asked for a break down of the prices he wasnt able to do so.

You can definitely trust them.Long story short, after leaving my car and the part with them, it took them a day or two. When I went to pick it up, i was told I DIDNT have to pay anything and I was grateful because dealerships were quoting me $450 - $650 and these guys just basically did it for free.After my experience, I feel very confident in their ability to to be provide honest quotes, plus they nice guys. One of them ALWAYS answered the phone compared to when I called Acura dealership, I literally had to go through their finance department to get a service rep to get a quote.Nonetheless, I feel pretty good referring them to friends and other family. I’ll be back for any car related issues!

I brought my car in today for an oil change that I was in DIRE need of. Got there around 4:30 and they were quick to get my car up and check everything out. I waited maybe a total of 20-30 minutes and they were finished. I got a full synthetic oil change, and Rick charged me $20-$30 cheaper than surrounding shops. I also asked if the car looked alright underneath the carriage and under the hood, totally expecting a well you need this, that, and that but it was all good! 10/10 recommend and I will 100% be going here for all my future needs. The staff here are great. One of my tires had a slow leak and they told me to drop it off and that it would be patched in a few hours. I came to pick it up and was informed it was a free service! I really appreciate them for doing this. It just made my day!

I used to love going to Monro on howard when Rick was there but unfortunately since hes left its not the same. Got charged way more than Rick ever would and they tried to upsell me for service I didnt need. Also I heard them try to charge another customer $100+ to diagnose the check engine light?? Everyone was very friendly but I didnt appreciate the price gauging and upselling. Wont be going back.

I came out of the grocery store at night and saw that I somehow had a flat tire. I remembered that Monro was near enough that I could drive on the flat and drop the car in the lot. I called up Monro in the morning and talked to Mr. Rick who told me to come drop the key off and he would take care of me. I dropped the key off, went about my day, and got a call a few hours later that it was ready. I walked over to the shop and Mr. Rick told me it was on the house. Great work, great service. They get all my business.

Rick and Andrew are the bomb.com!I’ve been coming to this shop for years now. They don’t try to sell you on anything you don’t need, charge extra for nonsense, or anything of the sort. They know that coming to a mechanic is already stressful on its own. Especially since there are so many crooks out and about claiming to be the best. This place is an absolute gem. And it’s because they go above and beyond to help you.They are extremely hardworking and honest mechanics (and at this point, therapists lol). I’ve got a 2006 Jeep Liberty that is basically a senior citizen at this point. They’ve managed to keep it running smooth. Which is quite the accomplishment considering how rough the Baltimore streets can be on a vehicle.If I have a question, they answer it. If I have a problem, they solve it quickly & efficiently. I’ve never felt so cared for as a customer anywhere else. They treat every single person that walks through their doors like a friend they’ve known all their lives.Don’t hesitate to give them your business. Update - 3/5/21 - Seems like Rick is gone and corporate is a lot more involved now. The prices for an oil change have doubled and they wanted to charge me $125 just to check the check engine light. I have a good amount of work needed on my car to pass an emissions test, but Ill be taking it somewhere else. Ive been a loyal monro customer for years and have recommended this place to so many of my friends but the vibes here have changed and I guess I have to change too.--I am truly so grateful to have found Monro. Ive been taking my car here for almost 4 years and Ive had consistently great experiences. My car overheated once and Firestone next door quoted me $1200 to fix it. Rick at Monro fixed it for under $100. I dont know very much about cars and I can feel very overwhelmed whenever anything goes wrong. Rick and Andrew are honest and experienced and I trust them completely with my car. Thank you!!

I was traveling out of town and my tire pressures were low. Very nice man stopped what he was doing to fill up my tires and wouldn’t take money for it. Obvious he was very busy but stopped what he was doing to help. Lucky to stumble upon this place and Mr Rick!

I dropped my vehicle off at Monro this morning to have a slow leak in a tire fixed. I went to pick it up this afternoon and they told me, “No charge! Just leave a positive review for us if you don’t mind!” “Absolutely!” I said. As I drove away, however, I noticed a huge crack in my windshield. So, I drove back and asked the manager about the crack. “Honestly, I don’t know nothing about that,” he said. Then he suggested that something must have flown up “off the highway,” by which he meant Howard Street. When I pointed out that I parked it on the side of the building this morning, he said again that he knew nothing. Then he told me I should call my insurance company. No apology, no nothing. Didn’t feel like arguing with someone with a mask half on in an enclosed space, so I left. I will not be back and suggest you avoid this place.

I started bringing my car here a few years ago, and now dont trust anyone else! Rick and Drew are always honest about what does and doesnt need to be done, never pressure you to do more work than is needed, and dont over charge for diagnostics. Just recently I was having trouble with the brakes, and they bled them and tightened them up for free! They also are hands down the most affordable place I have been to.

Had a veerrrrry slow leak in my tire that was hard to find, but they patched it up for me and had me back on the road without anything out of pocket. Very happy and impressed :)

These guys helped me patch a damaged tire the other week. They were extremely accommodating for a walk-in, very friendly, and did a great job in a short amount of time. I would definitely come here again for other auto service.
