I’m fairly new to the Scottsdale area and wanted to get my husband a nice piece of jewelry as an early “Father’s Day” gift celebrating the birth of our son. Mark was an absolute joy to work with. My wife and I visited Hamra today after months of anticipation as we live about 120 miles away in another city. Hamra is the only Patek Philippe dealer in AZ. Let me start by saying the staff was kind and inviting starting from the phone call I made to inquire if it was appointment only during this time. The woman stated that it is appt only and gladly offered to set an appointment up and upon hearing we were available as we spoke, she invited us for an immediate arrival. We walking in and were immediately welcomed by Kimberlie. I expressed an interest in viewing their selection of Patek Philippe as a prospective future customer of PP watches. Kimberlie pulled out every watch I expressed any interest in even though I did not ask or require any be taken out to have a satisfactory visit. The gesture was very much appreciated. I would like to say that the Patek selection was absolutely fantastic. They had more pieces readily available than I could have hoped for. In the watch world today, that is a huge challenge and for customers it is the golden ticket. Luxury time pieces of great demand are near impossible. I expected to see 1/4 the amount of Pateks.As I am an avid watch lover, I asked if I may look at the Tudor and Rolex cases since I was there. She made me feel like time was not an object and I could browse with her as long as I would like. I was impressed with their Rolex selection as well. New and preowned! All the while another lovely associate showed my wife some diamond rings and cleaned her wedding set, and gave her a gift for our first visit. I believe this was Sana. Such delightful ladies!I wish I could add to this review that I went home with a time piece but that will have to wait for a future review. I would just like others to know that this is a lovely store and I will be happy to give them my business in the future and so should anyone in the market for a luxury watch or piece of fine jewelry. My wife decided she wanted to get me a Rolex watch for my birthday and we found this place as a certified dealer of Rolex watches.We always had to go after work and it left us with little time before the store closed. And yet, they never rushed us or complained we were there so late on several different occasions.We actually met the owner 1st and then met with Steve, our sales associate, and he was just perfect in showing us and educating us on everything Rolex. He went through every question and every watch several different days. Until one day, I found the right watch. Steve made the buying so much fun. Made it feel unique and absolutely about me and my watch. Where to start. . .we have been long term customers of Hamra for many years and keep going back. First off, if you havent been, it is like an incredible candy store of exquisite jewelry. Whenever Im in the area, I love to pop in just to see what they have gotten new. Every time I visit, they are more than happy to clean and check my jewelry and have found loose stones on several visits that I wasnt aware of. For my most recent visit, I had the pleasure of working with Steve. He has been a breath of fresh air. I went in to get some ideas for some stones I had from some family pieces. He was a wonderful help. While talking to him, I mentioned that I have been looking for a matching necklace for some earrings I had bought there several years ago. Within a day, I received an email from Steve that he had tracked down the matching piece and he even had it in the store for me to view within a few days. It was a perfect match! He made sure my entire experience was easy and seamless and provided excellent customer service and great communication during the entire process. Night and day difference between this Jeweler and another that I’ve worked with locally. Very uptight atmosphere. Not sure if it’s because I came in a T-shirt and shorts or that I look younger than their typical buyer, but they definitely didn’t try to make a deal.I have purchased many watches and other jewelry, it’s always negotiable. Another dealer I work with locally typically discounts 15-40% depending on the brand and style, they offered less than 4%. With online sellers offering the same piece for 23% off there’s no way I would do business here. It’s a shame the normal dealer I work with doesn’t carry the brand...

I was in need of a Christmas gift for my wife and went to Hamra based on her recommendation and previous dealings with them. I dont have much experience with jewelry, particularly diamonds, and I arrived with only a vague idea of what I wanted. It’s taken me awhile to write this review, but the way I was treated continues to bother me.I popped into this jewelry store a few months ago because I needed a back for some diamond earrings my husband gave me. I also decided to take some old heirloom jewelry given to me by my mother. I wanted to assess the value, and see if it was worth it to design a piece for her 70th birthday using some of the stones/diamonds as well as new ones. The two ladies assisting me were very cold. Immediately, one stated that a diamond cocktail ring wasn’t “real”. She brought out a handheld detector, and as she touched each of the diamonds, the indicator flashed green. Then, unprompted, she placed the detector on the diamond earrings I brought in for a back. These too indicated as real, which was no surprise (they are certified and insured). When I asked about creating a designer piece, I was told they would not work with jewelry this delicate. After quoting me $150 for an earring back, I left. No one should be treated this way. Our family jeweler has retired, so I was looking for a new one to develop a long-standing relationship with. Customer service did not seem to be important at this store, and I was made to feel like I was not important.

Most recently, I have been working with Jered on sizing a couple of rings I have purchased there in the past. He went above and beyond to take care of me and keep in touch with me to let me know when my items were ready. They always make sure you are completely satisfied. This family run operation provides the best of both worlds with a wide variety of unique items along side a full collection of standard fare like Rolex. They are an authorized Rolex dealer and do repairs on site. We had our repair back in half the time compared to the last time at another jeweler. The location is easy to find too, right on Scottsdale road across the street from the Kierland area. Hamra Jewelers is worth a visit.

Not even sure I can even express in words how rude Steve G was when we just went into Hamra Jewelers just now. We were interested in trading in our two Rolex watches for two new ones. At first Steve was courteous as you would expect in a high end jeweler. We were looking at some new watches and tried on a few. But what you see is what you have in stock as he said. We didnt like anything in stock so we asked if the same amount offered in trade would be for cash and we can go elsewhere to buy the Rolex watches we wanted. Thats when the service level dropped. Steve in a condescending manner said you asked about a trade in and not cash. I said well we dont see anything we liked. He rolled his eyes and said well it is a different price and it will take a few minutes because that is not what you asked. I am sorry. Who is the client here for one? And two the store barely had anyone in there. And third he last comment oh you guys are making me get my steps in today. That is when we left. Steve is it because you get more commission on a sale and not cash? This is not how you treat a new client. Trust me there are many high end jewelry stores in the Scottsdale area. And this has nothing to do with what they offered for our trade in. This has to do with treating people with decency and respect. You would get better service somewhere else.

We had a great experience here over the weekend. I had received a $300 gift certificate that I wanted to use before it expired, and I really didnt want to spend a lot on top of the certificate. I went in knowing that it would be a smaller purchase, and Darla Jo didnt mind at all. She helped us look through all sorts of beautiful pieces, and spent a good deal of time explaining some of the items I was more interested in. Not so great selection ..was in the market to purchase a luxury watch, with the advertising on tv, I assumed they would have a great selection, instead the selection was rather limited. I had to go to the other end of the city from where I live and purchase my watch ..

I’d like to commend Steve at Hamra’s. As a new Arizonan and watch enthusiast I had stopped in with my wife to see their Rolex and Patek Philippe watches. Steve took plenty of time to show me their selection. He was knowledgeable and pleasant to talk with. I have been in the store a few times and have had a great experience every time. He recently assisted us with a lose diamond on my wife’s ring and sold me my first Rolex. I couldn’t be happier with it and plan to add more from Hamra’s to my collection in the future. Not a good experience. They lack truthful information. Shady prices. Rings and earrings always have a price change. Once the decision is made the owner finds ways to add to the price. I dont trust his way of doing business.Unhappy customer. will not go back.
