I would recommend Salas Auto to anyone! My mom had an issue with her car ignition and two separate mechanics couldnt diagnose, even after spending hundreds of dollars in diagnostic. Salas diagnosed the issue and advised steps to correct it, all at no charge! They were ready to help and answer any questions she had. The Customer Service was outstanding! I have always enjoyed the service at Salas Auto. They are knowledgeable, dont hide anything and dont do any more work than necessary. Its the only place in Portsmouth I would really recommend when it comes to Auto Repair Shops that are honest with fair pricing. I have many vehicles they have serviced including 92 Ford bronco, 2014 Hyundai sonata, 2008 Dodge avenger, 2004 Dodge charger, 2005 Ford sport-trak.

We’ve been customers of Salas and for several years now. Recently our daughter was taking her first trip to Nags Head driving her own car. Even though she was just getting her car inspected they checked her oil and made sure our daughter would be good to go. Their tow truck driver was even super nice and helpful.

Ive used Salas multiple times over the years to get body components painted. Their turnaround time is always fast, and they have always delivered a quality product at a fair price, with perfect paint matching.The last time I used their services, Daniel came out to the car with his color swatch book, and actually matched the exact tint/hue. I thought all vehicle color codes were the same, but there are actually variants to them, especially when viewed at certain angles. I learned something new, and appreciated the attention to detail given!

I had to leave my vehicle there are three different times I bought it from a gentleman who has his work done on his vehicles there at this location the first time was for a wheel alignment because the car was out of alignment second time was I overheated and they replaced the thermostat and the radiator cap and they fix a valve for air conditioning unit as well the next day Im out driving and it red lines Im supposed to have been in the process of going after my husband who was in the hospital day before yesterday when my car broke down and the day before that as well so I mean I have two extra days of hospital stay because I didnt have a vehicle to use the young lady from your shop called me and said my vehicle was ready I told her I have my husband home with the medical condition and she was calling the owner of the place that I bought the car from he said he wasnt available he wasnt even in the area but she called me back and said her service manager out of the kindness of his heart is bringing me my vehicle that goes Way beyond responsibility to a customer and I am very grateful and I appreciate the help will bring the car back if theres any other service that needs to be done and thank you very much

Outstanding business! After a dozen or more estimates for damages to my sons truck I went to Salas Auto. Daniel was very courteous and professional and gave an estimate that was lower than everyone else.Richard the body repair tech looked at the truck and assured me he could do the work within the time frame that I specified. The work was completed ahead of schedule and my son and I could not have been more pleased with the professionalism and quality of work performed. It is nice to know that there are still good metal workers that can actually do body repair work the old fashion way. Most estimates I received required replacing the whole side panel with a new one, no repairs. Needless to say this was way more expensive than the price Salas Auto charged to do the repairs. I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for quality body work, reasonable prices and appreciates its customers.

Same day service. Dropped my car off late morning and was able to pick it up at 5pm. Staff was friendly. Very helpful and offered me a ride home so I wouldnt have to wait there for my car . They called as they said they would before doing any work so I was told of the prices and services needed. They wasnt pushy to have any other work done besides what I had brought in for. They did give suggestions of future work needed on car. Which was nice. The only thing I felt was the price was a little steep on the brakes being changed. Although she did give me a discount for paying with cash so I appreciated that .

Awesome job on my car, theyve have done an amazing job Everytime I bring a car to them. My car is always better off after I leave. Most mechanics peace grease or dirt in my car after sitting in the driver seat, but not these guys, they do a great job at checking everything and making sure its working.

A good Auto Place

Friendly staff. Excellent service. I took my car in for some frame work that the dealer didnt want to do. I couldnt be more happy with the outcome.

I had my truck there for a simple inspection. Nothing at all wrong with the vehicle. I just rotated the tires two days before, and checked the lug nuts with a torque wrench. 100 lbs. per lug nut. They put a floor jack under the right front in a position where it would slip and bend something. I saw the old man inspector and the look on his face when it slipped. A not to surprised look, more of a thats just what I expected look with a dishonest grin. There was no need to rotate the wheel to view the front brakes because the after market wheels are wide open and the thickness of the pads is easy to view. I check them myself regularly. And I am in the habit of replacing them at the 40,000 mile mark so as to always have excellent brakes The vehicle is a 2006 with 80,000 miles gently driven in the city to and from work only. He is purposely trying to damage customer vehicles, or, he is incompetent with his position. Furthermore, after watching this procedure I knew there was a need to check the side of the vehicle that was not facing the lounge area. Upon arrival at my home I got the torque wrench out and checked all 20 lug nuts for the 100 lbs. I previously set them to. To my surprise I found three lug nuts loose, two on the rear wheel and one on the front wheel. I was shocked to find this dishonest trick was played on my work vehicle. So naturally I wanted to share this with the public. They must be hard up for work to try and damage unsuspecting citizens vehicles.My opinion, for what it is worth, these persons operating this establishment are Crooks and Thieves. They should be Tarred and Feathered and paraded thru the city.........................Honestly,One Poor Citizen

Good work very honest fair pricing

Not sure what Robert was on writing his review above, but I just left there for the first time, my regular mech, doesnt do inspections anymore, I gave them the ultimate vehicle to find problems with, though there shouldnt have been any, a 1992 F250 Heavy duty diesel, they did their job. Inspected the truck, and were very professional, they will be getting more of my business, my only complaint, their waiting room is too small... 😂... God bless
