Got there at 7:30am when they opened. Car sounded like it was literally going to kick the bucket & The guy that “manages” the place now told me that he couldn’t look at my car until 930-10am. Everytime I come in as soon as they open, and I’m the only one there, I’m being told to come back. Took the car to Big Al’s and got seen immediately and the service was way better. Would definitely continue to get my car serviced at other Meineke locations, just not this one.

Chuck worked quickly and efficiently. He gave me a time line and stuck with it. He fixed my car horn and gave me new brakes. I would definitely come back for future services and would recommend his shop to friends and family.

My husband and I took our car to Meineke to inspect our exhaust system. The technician stated we needed a new resonator at a cost of $1900. We took our car nearby to Big Als and they charged us about $250 to replace clamps, etc which in fact our resonator was good.

Good work but super expensive$400 to replace one sensor and get an oil change

The gentleman were very down to earth. I called before I came to the shop I was told it was first come first serve which was perfect for me. The wait time was accurate. They took the time to show me what needed to be fixed and why. I left 100% satisfied and did not feel ripped off. I will most definitely return.

I bought an older pickup and the exhaust was not complete and I thought it may be in rough shape. I made an appointment with the Meineke on Airline Dr Portsmouth.The gentleman I dealt with was knowledgeable and courteous. He Didn’t waste my time trying to sell me something I couldn’t use and also offered an alternate solution for my situation.Once I have my parts needed I’m going to take it back so this shop can complete my exhaust. I appreciate the honesty and time.

Highly disappointed with their services! I took my car in to get my a/c fixed, so those guys had my car from 9am to 2pm just to tell me my car needed an a/c compressor and the amount (1300$) to fix it cost way too much for my pockets. Found someone else to fix my car and then was told my compressor was good all I needed was an switch for my a/c so basically the tall white man at Meineke told me a bald face lie and was trying to over charge me for service that my car did not need oh I believe he thought I was a young female that didn’t know any better. I will never go back to this business for anything!!!!! Please beware of dishonest people!!!!

I was in town from Florida and needed to get an oil change. I was welcomed with open arms along with prompt, professional and an honest assessment of what was necessary for my oil change. Not only that, items like full synthetic, a new filter and fluid flush for a Lexus SUV had no semblance of price gouging. The honest folks here at this meinkeke are a great representation of what your auto repair experience should be! I would come here a hundred times over if I lived in town and heck if I’m in town and need of any kind of auto repair this would be my go to place hands down!

I recently scheduled an appointment which I have done in the past and had no issues with and my fiancé went to go drop off the car and they said that in order to keep the appointment that I had a confirmation for I was supposed to call 24 hrs in advance to confirm. I have always gotten my oil changes at meineke car care centers and never before had to do that and didn’t receive anything in my email or a call from them that stated this information. I have gone to this specific meineke once before and the guy at the front desk, an older genteel man, was inappropriate and rude to other customers and I wasn’t extremely happy at that point. Will not be returning and highly don’t recommend.

On February 3, 2021, I took my vehicle Meineke Car Care Center #544, 2490 Airline Bvd., Portsmouth, VA, because my brakes had failed. The manager diagnosed the problem and told me that the master cylinder and brake booster was the problem and needed to be replaced and would cost about $1000. When that didn’t fix the problem, he told me that all 4 brake calipers were locking up and needed to be replaced and would cost about $1000. When that didn’t fix the problem, the manager told me that he was going to have another repair shop diagnose the problem. On February 10th, I was told that my vehicle was being taken to another shop for diagnosis. February 15th, I was told that my vehicle was at Canady And Branch Complete Car. When I spoke with that shop, I was told that they had not even looked at it yet.After frustration and almost 2 weeks without any personal transportation, I had my vehicle towed to another auto repair shop. The problem was diagnosed and repaired. In the professional opinion of this repair shop, the caliper replacements were not necessary.After filing a complaint with the Corporate Office, I was told that since I authorized the calipers to be replaced, whether they were needed or not, there was nothing they could do to compensate me. I ended up paying $2115 to Meineke for a brake problem that was never repaired. I paid for Meineke’s shop manager’s misdiagnosis and incompetence. I am a very unsatisfied customer/consumer and will no longer patronize any Meineke Car Care Center.

Very perfessional and friendly, I felt like Ive known the guys working there for years. They got the job done, and they did it fast. I will most certainly direct anyone I know with car troubles to them. 10 out of 10 in any category of customer service.

I thought the atmosphere with the receptionist was fantastic I was not expected to pay as much though overall I would come back.

They say u can walk in for an appt but everytime I try to walk in they tell me to come back the next day. I understand that they are obviously popular w a large amt of business and it looks good but at the same time I feel they need to think about switching to appts only possibly to better manage their time and their customers

They replaced my exhaust 2 or 3 years ago. The factory spot weld on my muffler came loose. All I wanted today was a tack weld. The guy at the counter said it could not be welded but I have been welding for over 30 years most definitely weldable No such luck. I will take my money elsewhere next time

Very expensive, 980$ just to replace the power steering pressure hose which is ridiculous the last on average is about 100–200$. I called other shops and got extremely cheaper prices especially for labor. On average prices of other businesses was under 500$ for PARTS AND LABOR. I wouldn’t go there

I recently went in because I replaced a heater assembly hose; but I didn’t replace the hose the connected to the tree, it started leaking and overheating coolant so I rushed over and they where able to replace the hose within the hour. Jeff was great really knows what he is doing. The atmosphere was very nice I had my puppy with me and they had no problem with that. They also don’t over charge and they explain the breakdown of price before they do anything. For instance to refill with coolant was 30 dollars, I had 3 gallons of 50/50 blend that I had already bought that they used instead and took that off the bill. I highly recommend going to them, and I will definitely keep them in mind for the future.

If I could give it negative stars I would. First, my 930am online appt wasnt honored even thoughI arrived a half an hr early. There were only two mechanics, neither had name tags on. The tall sloppy guy was rude and super unprofessional. He acted like he was annoyed that people kept coming in.Also, I witness that same guy try to demean and berate this guy about a previous situation with other customers. I assumed the guy he was chewing out was an employee. It turns out he was a customer!The situation was so bad that the customer pulled out his phone, called his lawyer, and the cops!Long story short, I have never seen so much chaos and unprofessionalism at a well established business in my life! By the way, it took me 3.5 his to get my brakes and rotors done!If you see this place, keep driving!

Could not be happier with the service I got here. As many have said, Jeff is an amazing manager and mechanic and definitely knows his stuff. After diagnosing my problem he brought me to the back to show me exactly what the issue was and what it would take to get it fixed. Went here a few weeks ago because I heard squealing in my brakes. I purchased my vehicle 3 months ago and wanted to make sure the dealer changed out my pads. They performed a brake check and stated that I need new brake pads all around that would cost me $400. Took it to Big Als yesterday and they told me the brakes were fine practically brand new just had too much oil on them. Always get a second opinion. I was about to be ripped out of $400.

I brought in a car that I thought needed a brake change and left it. 15 minutes later Jeff called me and said that nothing is wrong with me brakes. He also checked the work that was done on my car by the shady place that told me i needed new brakes and made sure u was good to go. The only price was a handshake and some conversation. I WILL be bringing my car back here for anything other needs in the future. Jeff saved me probably 600 dollars. Place is amazing and people are awesome.

Went into Mieneke recently... Basic oil change. Some random dog was sniffing about the waiting area... Kinda odd if you ask me. Everyone seemed relatively nice except for Pedro... That guy has a serious attitude problem AND he doesnt take COUPONS!!! After my car was finished, I thanked the team and left... Some random drunk in the parking lot was shouting Long live Pedro!!! weird place... But hey, got thta oil change at full price!

My brakes went out today literally in front of meineke. I pulled in and quickly was diagnosed as the power booster for brakes went out. They called and said it would be $481 materials and labor parts $280 and 2 hours labor. 3 hours later I was back on the road. The brakes work great now but now the vehicle is cutting off and the air condition isnt working like it was prior. If they seen other issues why didnt they try to upsell or bring it to my attention, or did they sabatoge other things so I would come back being a company vehicle with logos on it. There also was no ac inside as they said it was not working. Both gentle man were very professional and curtious in my presence. When the mechanic test drove my vehicle when he returned he had a cold drink brand new with him,did he stop at the store during the 13 minutes he was gone, be cautious.Updated July 16thSo the van got worse I took to another mechanic. They fixed the fuel system for under 3 hundred dollars and fixed the brakes correctly. When my booster was put in by meineke they didnt bleed the breaks properly. I have yet to get a response from any of my complaints either.

Beware I took my car to Mieneke at 2490 Airline Blvd., Portsmouth VA 23701 where Jeff Trull is the manager.I went to have one spark plug changed. They charged me $209.00 for the repair. It was a little pricey, but I didnt mind because I couldnt change it. I was told it would be ready in 3hrs. I called several times and was finally able to pick my car up, 9 hours later.When I started driving I noticed my steering wheel had 2 inches of play, my air bag light was on, my horn no longer worked, and all of the controls on my steering wheel werent functioning. I drove 2 blocks and immediately turned around and took my car back to Jeff and explained the issues I found. Jeff went on a test drive with me and denied any wrong doing. All of those issues worked fine when I took my car in to be repaired.I took my car to another mechanic and he knew exactly what the problem was. Unfortunately, it would cost over $600.00 to get it repaired, and confirm the wrong doings at Mieneke. It took me 8 months to save for that repair. Im now saving again to get another repair done, that was a result of taking my car to this Mieneke.This is rediculous!! I took my car to have a spark plug changed and its going to cost an additional $1,100.00 as a result. Jeff strung me along for months claiming to relook at my car, which was an additional waste of time. Jeff is a nice guy, but Ill never take my car to Mieneke again!!Sincerely disappointed,Fred Pettus

Very impressed Jeff help be out a lot yesterday and saved me almost 80 dollars went to another muffler place to get work done to my muffler and the other place quote me almost 300 dollars came here and talk to Jeff and only paid 229 thats a big difference fast and reliable service I recommend this place to everyone
