Like a candy store for musicians. Focused on electronics and older gear, but really impressive selection of rare pedals, keyboards, and just random stuff. And reasonably priced, too!

Excellent service and a fantastic selection of vintage electronic instruments!I brought my synth in for repair after bringing it to Main Drag Music where I was told it couldn’t be serviced. Good shop with great people. Big Ed is a NYC legend and keeps his shop stocked with some pretty cool stuff. Rogue is a smaller place with a good amount of new and used gear. The knowledgeable staff of local musicians are very informative and seem grateful for your business. A throwback shop with a welcoming local feel. They may not have 30,000 square feet stocked with every conceivable gadget for making noise, but it sure beats the hell out of having to beg Johnny Douchebag for a new set of strings.

Best place for vintage synthesizer sales and service in NYC! Clark did a great job repairing some keys which didnt work on my very obscure early 80s Kawai analog synthesizer and I consigned a few items for an efficient sale. Most of their gear is priced at or below internet pricing which is unheard of for such an expensive city. A++++ :)

I have been dealing with Rogue for well over 10 years now and have purchased many synthesizer modules, keyboards, expansion sound cards, drum machines, etc and never had a problem with a used piece of gear. They will go out of the way and print you up a paper manual if you ask them. Ive done business with Ed, Clay and Brent. All those guys are courteous and take the time to answer your questions. Fast shipping/processing gives them a bigger pat on the back from me. I have even flown up there to do business with them in person just to meet the guys.Keep up the great work.PS - To the nut job who gave them a one star review? Haha, you must be their competition. NO WAY IN HELL does Rogue deserve a one star review, even on their worst day - what ever that may be.

I recently purchased a fantastic Telecaster from Rogue. As someone with a lot of guitars, and who travels and shops music stores from coast to coast, I must say this small shop is one of the nicest and most knowledgable places Ive ever encountered. They always have an interesting mix of great quality gear, at realistic prices for real people. Best of all, everyone Ive ever spoken to there has the most refreshing directness, knowledge and total lack of the all-too-often wannabe rockstar bullswager found in lesser (and larger) operations. This place is a gem, and I found a truly magical instrument there. Thanks guys!

Was very disappointed in their repair shop and crew. If you need a repair - do not go to those guys. I needed to remove a dust from inside of my 5 years old Korg keyboard. It was exposed to new york dust for few years and the dust started affecting the sound and response of the keys. I researched the issue online (its a common issue), and found out that the keyboard has to be disassembled and cleaned. Inspite the fact that Rogue is certified center for Korgs and I was ready to pay their hourly rate - they proved to be not helpful at all. They tried to assure me that it should be some parts that they have to order, they refused to do the exact estimates of how much time they need to work on it, and when I asked them just to disassemble and clean, they became unfriendly and rude. (One guy just said - we dont do it like that and turn his back on me. When I asked to talk to technician - they answered, that technicians do not talk with the clients). ..etc. Basically, if you need a repair - avoid this shop.

I have no idea what the guy who gave a one star review below was talking about. I think he must be a competitor. These guys are familiar with every ancient, vintage synth, every piece of vintage keyboard gear, every guitar manufacturer and rebrand and off brand, every pedal--every everything. There simply isnt anything that *hasnt* passed through their shop since 1983.The prices are New York prices BUT I would rate the number of real bargains at significant not just a few. I say that because I have managed to cherrypick some really *fine* gear at some insane prices. These guys sold me a Boss DD-7 for $79 and a ZVex Vexter Box of Rock for $95 plus a trade in of a small, cheap overdrive pedal. Theyve bought gear from me for green cash--they dont do checks--for very reasonable (better than average) prices as well.Brent, Big Ed Sullivan, and Clay Chalem are *great* guys to deal with and all these guys are working players--Ed runs the blues jam at The Red Lion in the Village on Mondays, which is a great place for a Jersey player to cut his teeth playing in the City. Between the three of these guys, you have a nearly endless fountain of knowledge about gear and a great source of up-to-date info about gigs and events. Totally recommend. Your music trip to NY isnt done without a stop here.

Instrument store half hidden and difficult to find. Unlike Guitar Center or Sam Ash, smaller stores may contain real hidden gems. I accidentally entered this store and was surprised by the large amount of used pedals and the equipment and spare parts. And you find good used pedals for very honest prices. I recommend it to musicians. From amateurs to professionals.
