Wonderful customer service! Mary Adams is amazing! We look for her every time we go in for a new appliance, which has been often as of late. It seems our appliances have been on the same schedule of giving up the ghost. So, Mary has been extremely helpful in outfitting our home with new appliances. Our recent purchase was our refrigerator, which will be delivered tomorrow instead of October 11. Thank you so much Mary!!!

I have been repairing appliances for 5 years, and since Sears closed down in 2019, Ive been referring customers that want to buy new appliances to Judd and Black. The other day, I was close to the store so I thought Id go in and take a look around, figuring that since Ive been recommending them to my customers for 2 years, I should at least see what the place is like.I walk in, a couple people at the counter greet me, ask me what I needed, and I tell them I was just taking a look to see what their was. That was a huge mistake. One of the employees actually walks up to confront me to ask me what I was doing in the store. At that moment, I was reading a pamphlet they had on display on the sales floor. I explained myself, the employee gets very suspicious and tells me that if I didnt have the intention to make a purchase, that it doesnt make any sense that I would be thereI apologized, and tried to explain again that I just had a curiosity about prices and products available, then as calmly as I could, I left, being watched the entire time. I entered the store about 12:20 on a Thursday, and left at 12:27. It was the most uncomfortable experience Ive ever had in any retail setting. I felt like I was being accused of stealing, as if I slipped a refrigerator or washing machine in my pocket. I will be referring all of my customers to Lowes and Home Depot from now on, and I feel absolutely terrible that Ive subjected so many people to this company and their dehumanizing treatment of people. Shame on them.

Well, that experience went south quickly! Looking at the recent reviews, ours is not unique. It’s obvious J&B is struggling with providing customer service. They were super glad to get our money, but the honeymoon is over, I guess. Our dishwasher installed in June has needed four (yes, four) service calls, and we’ve used it maybe a dozen times. Obviously defective. Our latest call is three weeks out! Now we can’t get a return phone call or any kind of response from the general manager, service manager, not a soul has done what they promised they would do to take care of this situation. Did they expand too much? Overwhelmed without a clear plan? Whatever the problem is, I would NOT recommend this company.

We went to buy a dryer. Selection was just okay.. Dryer we chose was not in stock but would sell us floor model. But THREE WEEKS to deliver! I live less than two miles from store. Didnt buy here because of that.

Two years earlier I had bought new appliances for my kitchen and everything went great - from the ordering to the delivery to the setup. This year I bought my refrigerator in January 2021. It was delivered the following week and the two young men did a good job of setting up the refrigerator. The only thing I noticed which I should have reported was that it smelled like the young men had been drinking. Two months later, Im having my plumber out to check the water supply for the ice maker and I cant move my refrigerator because the leveling feet were cranked down so tightly that I cant get them loosened. I called Judd and Black this morning and I was told that they have to schedule someone to come out and fix it and it will cost me a $100.00!!!! I have had no reason to move my refrigerator until now and because the delivery men were over zealous in tightening the leveling feet I cant move my refrigerator. I dont have the strength to loosen them. Thank goodness my plumber hopefully will be able to take care of this. My compliant is that there was no understanding, no sympathy and was immediately told that it would cost ME $100.00. I actually was not calling to have them take care of this. I was calling to suggest that they tell their delivery people to not tighten things so tightly. Consider the customer - I live alone!! Thanks for nothing Mary Adams! P.S. The manager - David of the Everett store came to my rescue and helped me with the leveling feet problem. Thank you so much David for your help! You are awesome!!

Had to get a new dishwasher wasnt to happy to deal with people because well the Rona. It was surprisingly nice even with her mask Mary was very patient and was honest about the products discussed to be honest it was a great experience. Definitely suggest this place and will continue to shop there for any of our other household items!! Thank you!!

I went to the Judd & Black location in Everett Washington. Matt Beck helped me. His customer service was outstanding. He took all the a time I needed to explain the different appliances to me to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. He made sure that I understood the warranty of each appliance and delivery options and time frames.I bought a washer and dryer a microwave an oven and a dishwasher. I am so happy with each appliance that he helped me with.Each one is everything that he said it would be.Matt went above and beyond everything I expected. Thank you

I am VERY disappointed with our recent experience. We purchased a dishwasher last week and Bo was the salesperson. It was clear that he was distracted and more interested people who were set to buy immediately because once we told him we were just looking for prices so our landlord could purchase he lost interest in us. I understand that part but we did decide to purchase that night anyway. My disappointment is because Bo told us our dishwasher would be delivered on Tuesday and that was not the case. He did not even schedule it for delivery. We called on Tuesday (after being without a dishwasher for a few weeks) and were told we were not even on ANY schedule for any delivery. This is very frustrating and not ok. We were told today that our dishwasher will be delivered NEXT Wednesday! That is a month without our dishwasher! Had we known this we would have looked at other options. I have NEVER had such poor customer service. I understand the desire to make a sale when you are in that business but next time I will request a different salesperson or choose a different business. Be honest and forthright when dealing with customers. Not setting up a delivery is not ok!

First time to the new location, which is nice. They actually have a nice big showroom floor to display the products. As opposed to the old location where it was a bit more broken up into separate rooms.The sales people are still as friendly and helpful as ever. Even with product shortages due to the pandemic, they were able to get us what we needed...and quite a bit cheaper than I was expecting too.Thank you J&B. Well be back!

Thrilled with the salesman I worked with..his name is Michael....but it went down hill from there. Bought a full suite of kitchen appliances....needed the stove and dishwasher asap. That part was good...except they sent the wrong dishwasher...and then I had to take it back and get the correct one rather than them bringing out the correct one.Then the refridgerator door had a ding in it and they are going to replace it.Buuuut...I am at their mercy for delivery/swap....Wont tell me what time till day of delivery...so I have to lose a complete day of work for their ten minute service.Sales.....excellentService....nonexistent.

Super pushy sales lady as soon as we walked in. Kept asking the same questions over and over, showed us she wasnt really listening to what we were saying because we answered the same questions 3 times in a row, we have a side by side fridge that broke, it is 20 years old and no we have never purchased from you before. Didnt ask any questions around what we were looking for to replace what we had, since we didnt bring measurements she didnt really know what to offer and seemed like she was preoccupied. Made really off-putting comments about it taking a really long time to get appliances from them, months long turn times is what she said. Really wanted to go to someone local but this felt very used car salesman. A few other courteous salesmen checked in as we looked around and asked if we had any questions, not pushy at all. Bad first impression from this particular sales person.

We recently visited Judd & Black in Everett to purchase a washer/dryer and had great experience working with Devin...again. We worked with him almost two years ago when we needed kitchen appliances so we were glad to be able to have him help us with the w/d. Devin knows his products and is just a great person to deal with. The delivery crew was on time, removed the old w/d and had the new set installed pretty quick. AWFUL, HORRIBLE, ABSOLUTE WORST!!! Bought my dishwasher in December. Was told it would be a couple months because manufacturers are behind in production due to covid. Ok, I can wait. Come march, they finally attempt delivery and install but it wont fit. Need a different model. They arent helping at all. Wont get back to me. I am told my sales person is with a customer every time I call. Ok, first of all. I was a paying customer first and have not gotten what I paid for- months later. And, if a customer has an issue, especially a purchase thats still open from months ago shouldnt they be contacting me!?? Extremely BAD service, cant get any worse!

Was looking to buy all new appliances for our new house and decided to check out Judd and Black in Everett. The salesperson we worked with was very knowledgeable and helpful and took the time to look up several products for us. The salesperson was wearing a mask the whole time, but to our disappointment they were the only employee in the store wearing a mask. There were several other employees walking around the store without any masks at all. As we attempted to work with our salesperson at their desk, another employee was sitting at the next desk very close to us with no mask. We felt extremely uncomfortable and decided to leave without purchasing anything. As we left we realized even the employee greeting people at the door was maskless! Just couldn’t stand to spend money at a business that lacks concern for the health and well-being of their customers and community. As an essential business, they should be doing more.

We purchased a microwave a couple years ago from J and B and was satisfied with it so when we needed a dishwasher, I called J and B first. Matt was very helpful telling me about a couple of dishwashers I was interested in. I decided on one, it was in stock at their storage so we went and picked it up. The whole process was fast and easy. If we need another appliance in the future, we will check with J and B first.

Delivery, set up, install, take away, 5 yr warranty and 10% rebate all for what I thought just the fridge and stove would cost. Truly wish we had a better experience with this location especially considering the amount of money we paid for multiple appliances. We had appliances delivered early to a storage place nearby as some were floor models and they wanted them removed quickly. But when time came to install in house they didn’t arrange to help us move them. Which was a bummer as I felt we helped them out by taking the appliances months early and allowing room for new appliances on their floor. Also parts were missing and they told us we would need to pick them up and that they could not guarantee damage would not occur during transport?! They did refund us the money for some missing cords but we had to go to Home Depot to pick up new ones which was not convenient. Then we had our stove grates delivered in a damaged box and the grates were wrapped in Saranwrap and 4/6 were broken. Still trying to get communication on when those will be replaced. I was so disappointed as the salesman was nice but once they got the money I felt we were tossed to the side and they were on to the next sale.

First off, the sales lady Mary talked so fast and showed us refrigerators so quickly we couldn’t even see the insides of them. We told her we didn’t need a water dispenser outside the fridge. And she had one refrigerator she could show us, it was a Samsung. She was trying to talk us out of it saying it wasn’t a good guy. But we liked it and wanted to know if they had new one in the box we could buy. She had a guy go look in the back to confirm they did and two other sales men look on the computer and confirm they did. But, when they delivered the refrigerator it was the beat up floor model! And when we called back they said they didn’t have a new one, they wanted us to pay full price for a beat up floor model, so after several phone calls to the manager they located one in Burlington. Then the new one was delivered with a huge dent in the freezer. Mary said she could give us $50.00 off the fridge or wait for a new drawer. Of course we want a new drawer!

UPDATE: Judd & Black pulled through and came back to remove old fridge and installed the new one before 10 AM with a professional team. Im updating my rating to reflect their comment to take care of us.Im only offer 1 star as there is hope that J&B will make our situation whole. Delivery folks couldnt figure out how to remove old fridge. Mind you, Sears was able to install the same size unit 5 years earlier using the same porch set up and maneuvering an extended garden window that has since been removed and opened up even more deck room. The delivery crew said they had other deliveries and would call us back. They did not and we tipped them as incentive to keep in touch and keep us posted. We made clear we would adjust our railings so they had easier access upon their return. After speaking with our original sales associate at 5:45 PM because no one would respond to our calls, the soonest possible return is a week from tomorrow. We wouldnt have known had we not bird dogged the company. Even then, IF any concessions can be made to return earlier than a week from now, they wont be addressed until after 9AM tomorrow. Trucks are load and ready for dispatch between 8 and 10 AM. Code for sorry suckers you are at our mercy and we dont really care how long it takes you to get your paid for appliance. That is how that lands on us.Had we known that our efforts to make things easier for removal and insert was for nothing and had we known wed have another 8 calendar wait to see if anyone shows up, we would have insisted they take the fridge back on to their truck and refunded our money. Now we are stuck with two disassembled fridges and decking that we adjusted for useless delivery.To add insult, the freezer seal on the new model being delivered was broken upon delivery. But hey, no problem, they can have someone out sooner.Be careful when planning and buying from J&D!Am I mad and did I yell? Oh you bet I did!!!

I went in to get a replacement part for my 13 year old dryer. The part was no longer being manufactured. So instead of trying to sell me a new dryer the man that was helping me found one on e-bay and wrote down all the information for me. I got the part and my dryer is up and running again. Super disappointed with Judd and Black. We bought a dishwasher 13 months ago and it has already quit working. My husband contacted Whirlpool and replaced all reccommended parts and still doesnt work. Manufacturer warranty was only for a year. Service department was no help. Will no longer buy from Judd and Black.

Our fridge died on us so we were forced to go out fridge shopping. We wanted a black fridge and all you see anymore is stainless. We went to every possible place that sells appliances and didn’t like any of the fridges or they were way too much money or the salespeople ignored us. Then we went to Judd and Black. The salesperson was super helpful. We got exactly what we were looking for and $1,000 cheaper than Home Depot! We also got a 3 year warranty! Couldn’t be happier. I will definitely go to Judd and Black first the next time I need an appliance.

My refrigerator conked out at a pretty bad time (Pandemic.) I was able to salvage some stuff from my freezer but most other items perished. Our Community (Clearwater Commons in Bothell) gets most of its appliances from Judd and Black....So our founder recommended calling Devin . We made an appointment for the delivery of a new fridge in about 3 days. Unfortunately when the new appliance arrived it was DOA ( wouldnt function.) I was pretty disappointed and rather desperate when I was informed that I would have to wait for another 3 days. But I didnt push it. Luckily Devin called me back and told me another exact same fridge would be sent out that same day. He offered me a free 5 year warranty for the inconvenience. I appreciate that Judd and Black did the right thing and offered the 5 year warranty. I highly recommend this company for prompt and reliable customer service!

My Fridge died and I needed one ASAP. Matt the sales rep provided the highest quality service and gave us honest feedback back on our concerns with purchasing a new fridge. Not only did he ensure we purchased the fridge we made but also helped insure the process was seemless. Im so glad I decided to try Judd and Black instead of going with a big box store. I called Lowes and I would have had to wait for a month for a basic refrigerator . The sales guy was not helpful. Joel in sales at Judd and Black was really great. He found me a perfect refrigerator for less than I expected to spend and the delivery and removal charge was very fair. Sure their appliances are a bit on the high side but, their customer service is the best and I highly recommend them. I may change my review after I see the service tech, but so far I am not impressed with this company. I have a family of five and our washing machine is a pretty important appliance. When I started laundry this morning at 5:30 am, the machines engine would not turn, no water will drain. These things happen, I understand. I called promptly and the man on the phone told me he could get someone out on Wednesday or Friday. Wednesday OR Friday? I asked him politely. He responded in a tone that made me believe his assessment of my intelligence to be less than a house plant. Very slowly he explained to me, Yes, today is Monday...Tomorrow is Tuesday, I have no one available, Wednesday is the day after that. Is this supposed to be customer service? There are no other companies that offer repair services to the point that he would talk to me like he is the only shop in town? And not only that, but waiting until Wednesday with a family of five is one thing, but OR Friday? My daughter is potty training and my husband works construction. So three loads of laundry a day at least, Wednesday Or Friday is a big difference. So I tell him Wednesday would be great. Then he tells me the service tech will call on Wednesday morning, between 8-10 to schedule a 2 hour window for that day. REALLY? I can only assume that so many of their appliances are going bad that they cant nail down a time and actually set real appointments with people. Even in the morning? I mean I understand not knowing how long one fix may take, but first appointment is a 2 hour window too? The coffee at this shop must be amazing, I hope the owner knows all the window time he is paying his employees. So now I will be waiting all day on Wednesday for a tech just to come look at my washer, chances are slim it will be fixed that day. Two stars.Update: The tech called me very early into the two hour call window and showed up at the beginning of his quoted 2 hour window. He was very polite and nice to me and he fixed my washer today! Which was great. I was very impressed with the service tech and would give him personally five stars. I still am not thrilled with the original person I talked to. Since the tech schedules his own appointments, Im not sure why the other man is the one dealing with people when his skills are severely lacking.

Im so sorry because its been a icon in Everett for 75 years.Thursday July 18, 2019 review: The building that Judd & Black had at 3001 Hewitt Ave by the Interstate 5 freeway is now totally demolished. I just want to cry everytime I see the vacate lot. I cant afford appliances and currently live with people with appliances. Im not in a situation to get an appliance but Judd & Black would be my first choice to buy appliances. I dont know if something else would be built there or if a new Judd & Black would be built there but the iconic Judd & Black I saw when I left LA where I grew up and moved to Everett, I saw that store and I never heard of Judd & Black in my life but I really miss it being there. Rather J&B returns or not your store on Hewitt will always be in my heart. I really miss it.

Initially, we went to a Big Box Store. The salesman was very helpful but the nightmare started when we were to take delivery. After the runaround three different times, we cancelled our order and went to Judd and Black in Everett. Matt was very helpful. We actually upgraded some of the appliances and they matched the Big Box Store in price. Delivery was a breeze. They delivered when they said they would and there were no scratches or marks on any of the appliances or our house. Installation was done professionally and I would recommend this company to everyone. From now on, we will be there customer.

We found what we needed and the prices seemed fair. Caters to people who prefer to spend $ on something with fancier features, not a very good selection of basic models (what we were looking for), and it seems like they dont keep much in stock- we had to order and wait a few days, and of course got the item in the middle of the week instead of the weekend.

Locally owned, family business that has the reputation of standing behind their products & their customers...fast, friendly & they even answer the phone, with a real person. If you need repairs they do it with in-house staff. Good ole fashion business.

Knew what I wanted when I went in. Got the equivalent of a used car salesman. When I told him what I wanted down to the model number I got the hard sell on the upgraded model. Wound up going to Lowes and getting better service

The service is superior as always. I had to replace my Kitchen Aid dishwasher after 26 years. The sale representative was attentive and knowledgeable. After I decided on Kitchen Aid KDTM404EBL, it arrived about one month later and scheduled for installation two weeks after. The installer was very nice and professional. It must have been so difficult to remove the 26 year-old dishwasher but he successfully removed it and installed the new one. Its much quieter than the old model and very pleased with the service.

My husband and I chose Judd & Black because we wanted to support a local business and due to their reputation and they are a union supported business. Apparently, the supposedly great customer service only applies to when things go smoothly. We went into the Everett store and Brian Fee helped us. We had a week old infant and were an easy sell of a brand new washer/dryer because we wanted to get in and out of there quickly. Unfortunately, our washer ended up being a defective unit. This of course isnt Judd & Blacks fault, but how they followed thru and handled this was a huge problem. We attempted to go through our sales person to resolve the issue. He would promise to call us back, then we wouldnt hear from him and had to keep calling back in. He sent out service folks to help, but the unit remained defective. Instead of immediately offering to replace the unit, they tried to order a part for it. Totally unacceptable. We paid for a working BRAND NEW washer. Never got in thru one wash cycle, and they want to just install a new part? Brian only followed through when we escalated the issue to higher ups. We were told we would go a week until we could get a replacement...and that his hands were tied. Upper management did end up figuring it out and we got our unit earlier. Unfortunately, we continue to have issues. Brian never got back to us about crediting some delivery/services fees we requested (rightfully so, given the experience) and the $100 PUD rebates advertised for the units we bought is incorrect. He also did not send us the correct receipt so we had to call again today and request the correct info. The woman who assisted my husband was incredibly rude, and her attitude changed for the worse as soon as she pulled up our account. We are wondering if we were labeled as a problem or something because her reaction to my husband respectfully asking for the info was odd and totally uncalled for. This entire time, my husband and I have been more than appropriate and respectful in asking for them to simply make things right and exercise the good customer service we have heard so much about, to no avail. They seem to be primarily focused on making a commission. A true measure of good customer service is when things DONT go smoothly. We feel taken advantage of, and that they really dont care about their customers, beyond the initial sale. Yes, upper management did pull through and give us a new unit, but my husband and I have had to make countless phone calls, emails, and even a visit into the actual store to get a resolution....all while having a preemie infant to take care of and not having laundry capabilities for a week. Brian never apologized once. Safe to say we will give someone else our business next time. Very disappointed in them. As of this review, we are STILL waiting for a resolution about the PUD rebates and credits that were agreed to. Not holding our breath for either.

Update: 12/2019, so we wrote the original review after our purchase, unfortunately while the initial sales transaction was great, after the money exchange (quite allot of money) we heard nothing. Brian had advised he was ordering our kitchen suite and it probably wouldnt be in until the first or 2nd week of November. No problem for us as our kitchen cabinets, counters were still going in. We heard nothing more from anyone. We called 2nd or 3rd week of November to find out whats up and when we could get the appliances delivered and in. We were told they werent there and it would be several weeks. A good sales person would let the customer know of any delays, until we started actively calling and pushing nothing was happening. This delayed getting our kitchen back by 3 weeks. So once you pay, dont expect the top service we previously raved about. VERY Very DISAPPOINTED. (PRIOR REVIEW) :Brian Fee at the Everett store was/is an amazing sales rep. He takes the time with no pressure thoroughly answers questions or concerns. He puts in the effort even without knowing if the sale will go through. My husband, having spent years as a retail manager, is very critical of sales people if they dont follow through or give expected service. Brians service was above expected. My husband was the first to say we need to write a good review. Brian helps the customer by giving knowledge on the product no pressure but the right amount of attentiveness. We will purchase again from Judd and Black because of Brian and of course from Brian. Best sales experience yet!!!!

Very disappointed with the service department, will no longer be a customer of this organization. Lazy servicemen just trying to get in and out a fast as that can, very poor customer service. Called twice to complain. Just given excuses by service manager. Just go to Lowe’s or Home Depot, same crappy service but there prices are lower

We purchased a full kitchen of KitchenAid stainless steel appliances and Jenn-Air cooktop five months ago. We love them. Mary Adams was very helpful during the entire process. We did have a few issues (e.g.,, a dent in the frig door during delivery, installer forgetting to order the wall oven trim) but J&B took care of everything satisfactorily. We are very happy with our experience. It was great being able to deal with one company and one salesperson through the entire process.

My dryer panel broke, I bought the extended warranty and the scheduler would only let me schedule out for a whole day. I didnt have a whole day, so she said she would call me back when we could reschedule, well that was several months ago. I had to call and talk to the manager who scheduled me in a 2 hour block. He said the people at the position were gone and he was apologetic and gave me some free soap. I gave them a 3 because their customer recovery was good. I am glad to hear that the employee is no longer there, because she was difficult. I am reserved about this whole event. I paid $2300 for just the washing machine and dryer and I expect them to work and for Judd and Black to respond better than the did the first time
