Called in seeking help ordering a difficult to find bicycle. The individual who assisted me was very helpful and informative about the process. Once we realized this bike was discontinued and unavailable for ordering the representative brainstormed with me ideas and resources to accomplish my goal. It was a very informative conversation and I really appreciate their help. Thank you so very much for this support !

I got a pair of new tires for my bike and had a great experience! The price for the tires was absolutely reasonable, the staff was super helpful in helping pick the right tires out and very accommodating in scheduling the service to replace the tires. Many thanks and highly recommended!

My daughter had just arrived in Eugene and needed her bike for her 14-miles round trip to her new job the next day. Unfortunately during the move, her bike brake broke and she was pretty stressed. Even though we only had an hour before Arriving by Bike closed, Josh calmly and competently fixed the problem within minutes. The icing on the cake was the shop’s awesome selection of repair gear and pumps—now she’s set the next time she’s got a bike emergency!

This is an amazing shop! The people inside are super friendly, knowledgeable and kind. You get all the service of a huge shop without any of the judgement or weird vibes. They still have great selection too. I am far from an expert when it comes to my daily commuter bike, and they have saved my bacon a few different times now. They are quick too. I swung by with a flat one day and needed to commute with that bike the next morning at 5am. In less than 20 minutes they had it changed out and had found the thorn that made the puncture - and this was like 30 minutes before they closed. From what I can tell, their prices are very competitive. They are so nice when you walk in, and it feels super genuine - which I really enjoy! They arent trying to schmooze me, the just want to help me find what I need. Great shop! Great people! I dont need to look around. I found my go-to bike hub.

I went in to get a basket or some way to be able to travel, by bike, with my puppy. The old lady was down to help but the younger snob…literally told me two things…put your dog in a book bag or call an Uber. Now at a store called “arriving by bike” telling you to call an Uber would be completely opposite of the name. Secondly you…this is Eugene, OR where dogs even mane infested, worm ridden, starving, and owned by homeless wandering the streets are loved, cherished, and adored. Get caught by anyone stuffing a dog in a bookbag in this town and that will be a huge problem. Even with the homeless. I had 200 dollars to spend in your store. I found a basket that worked on Amazon and was sent to me overnight. For 25 dollars. You could have done the same exact Amazon search, purchased it, charged me double, and I would have easily purchased it, supported a local business, and been so happy to do so. Instead, you lost me and anyone else I talk to as a customer. And imagine what they will say about you in this town knowing you said put a dog in a book bag.PS-The queen isn’t too happy that the little prince didn’t get his basket 🧺 from you guys. He really wanted to go to the river this weekend. By bike. And had to wait. And was sad. And his mama didn’t like that. And y’all like to sell water bottle holders called looney bins. Obviously because we’re in Eugene. Keseys. Psychedelics. Cuckoo’s nest. So cute.Or maybe in this day in age you’re actually crazy if you’d rather drink water over a local microbrew. (Sorry Ninkasi) But either way, you upset the little prince. And you know what the queen says when she’s upset don’t you? You’ve read(or watched) Alice in Wonderland correct? There are more people into psychedelics than the Keseys. ♠️♣️♥️♦️🤭🤣Arriving by Uber for the win 🥇!!!!!

One of the few bike shops open till 7pm so I was able to make it in the shop before all hope failed. They did not have a shock pump on thier tool bench but however they did have one for sale. This isnt exactly a mountain bike shop more of a urban in town cargo style bike shop. This places prices are fair.

The best selection of items for touring and commuting of any shop I have ever been to. Also has friendly employees. However, markups on things like dynamo parts are steep and prices are above better local shops for shared items. Ive also had repeated problems with them not calling me about special ordered dynamo-related items, but I think thats on the owner, not the employees who took the order. For the kind of niche items they sell, youre better off going through the manufacturer. For common items, support a local shop with better overall customer service.

Arrive By Bike is by far the best bicycle accessory store in town. The staff alone are extremely helpful and take their time to make sure you are taken care of. I never feel pressured to buy anything, yet each staff member really takes the time to talk with you if you have in-depth questions. The prices are very reasonable, and I never see them sell cheaped out products.

There were items displayed on the street like this shop was trying to sell things. When we tried to go inside we were met with a makeshift barrier and after a long wait, an unhelpful and unknowledgeable employee. There are a lot of bike shops in the Eugene/Springfield area.

I love this bike shop. I have tried several different shops here in Eugene (Pauls, Hutchs, REI). Each has its own strengths. The staff at Arriving by Bike has been exceptional - friendly, thorough, patient. They have offered ranges of ideas for purchases/repairs/etc. No one there has ever tried to sell me something I dont need. They ride the bikes they sell. The shop is small, cozy, comfortable. I really like their focus being on transportation, not racing or any kind of extreme mountain biking, etc. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We bring all our bikes here for service and buy our bikes here. The service is great and friendly and feels fair, in terms of price. Its probably not the best price ever, but its a local business that also supports our community (eg. They donate gift cards to school fundraisers). When I was buying bikes, theyve been patient and good humored and I felt cared for as a customer.

The store is not entirely open now (June 2020) but I was able to get what I needed from a staff member at the door. Although I couldnt go inside and browse as usual, the employee brought items to me to view instead. Gotta adapt to the times. And I did have a longer than usual wait since it was one-at-a-time service. I was glad the store is even open, since so many businesses are not.

Went in one day to ask questions about bikes. I told the person immediately that I wouldnt be making a purchase that day, was just getting information so I could decided what I wanted.A man there spent over a half hour showing me several models and explaining the pros and cons of each. I had to go, eventually, and thanked the man for his tireless patience and enthusiasm. He turned out to be the business owner!Although I didnt buy a bike there in the end (I ended up buying a used starter for my GFs first bike), I will gladly return when Im ready to buy a higher quality product or need a repair. Very good service, friendly staff, high quality bikes.

Great first experience, will be back.Im riding my first bike tour in a few days so I was checking my bike to make sure everything was ok. I noticed a loose and slightly bent spoke. I dropped in to ask them about this. They answered all my questions and offered to tighten the spoke for me.Even though they were visibly busy, I was helped quickly and kindly. I didnt feel rushed and was never pushed to purchase anything.Ive been to many other bike shops around Eugene, but never felt quite comfortable in them. Arriving By Bike on the other hand was a completely different experience. They have earned my business.

I bought an Ortlieb saddle bag here a few years ago, and a few months ago the fastener that holds the bag to my bike broke. So I went in to get a replacement. The nice workers told me that they didnt have the part in stock, but that they would order it immediately. They took my name and contact information and told me they would call when the part arrived. Then they never called. About a month later, I was in the neighborhood and stopped in to ask about the part. I assumed they had gotten the part and forgotten to call me, but it turns out they never ordered it. Ok, they messed up once, no big deal, I told myself. They apologize and say theyll order immediately and give me a call or shoot me an email when it arrives. Then I wait another month. In the meantime, my bag is strapped to my bike with bungie cords. And no call. No email. So I called them and guess what? They still hadnt ordered it yet. I was told the boss hadnt authorized it yet. In my opinion, a good manager or a caring owner would have called me to tell me that they werent going to order the part and offer an apology and some reasoning. But no one ever reached out to me. I know its only a $40 part, but I ride my bike to work everyday and I depend on my bike and bike bag to work properly. I am also a fellow human being, and I deserve basic courtesy and respect. I arrive by bike everywhere I go, and I thought this shop was down with supporting the bike commuter culture, as their name suggests. So they screwed up with me twice. Unfortunately for the shop, there will not be a third time for this customer. Im out. Ill take care of my bike needs and my familys bike needs at one of Eugene/Springfields many other excellent bike shops.

This is a small store but big on service! I visited this shop out of curiosity since its not far from where I live & its on a main st here in Eugene, so its very easy to get there. My first visit was to check out the bikes they had in stock & see what bike accessories were available & they had lots to chose from, the staff I have spoken with have been friendly & patient with my questions & knowledgeable about the products they sell. I had to take a flat in to get fixed & removed the tire myself not knowing it wouldnt be as easy to get back on since I didnt know the correct steps & adjustment required putting it back on & spent hrs fiddling with it.. Needless to say I ended up taking the whole bike in to get the tire aligned properly & the rear brakes set & it probably didnt take them more than 5 mins to get the job done correctly & the cost was only $10.So Ive learned my lesson about bike maintenance, its better to let the people that know what theyre doing do the job right the first time than trying to do it yourself and waste your time just to save a few dollars, take it to the staff at Arriving By Bike & theyll fix it right!

I would like to amend this review... The owner reached out to me directly to apologize, to explain there was a special event that day and the staff I had encountered were not their regulars. While still frustrated by the experience I really appreciate that gesture, speaks well of company values and leadership. Original post below:I used to like this place because its local and family owned. Today I waited for an hour for an answer to a simple question on pricing an item they should have stickered before putting it out for sale... One person deferred me to another, and then to another, and another, and another... then a phone call, and finally an answer without ceremony or apology for the time theyd wasted. Oh yeah, and price was higher than competition by 20%. I guess to pay for all that excellent customer service.
