I went into Blue Heron Bicycles with my dad when he was visiting, and we had a great experience. My dad is very into bicycles and is a collector, and he was thrilled with the selection of bikes available in the shop, even purchasing one to bring back home with him. I was impressed with the value, the service, and the comfort of the shop: it has that classic bike-shop feel to it, Ill be back, by bike.

I brought in an old bike I had left outside in the mud room for a few years, so it had built up a layer of cobwebs and rust! Blue Heron took care of it, giving the bike a full tune-up for just $70. They even solved an old problem where the brakes would squeal. Super satisfied with my beautiful fixed up cruiser, thank you!!

So, my neighbor was selling two Trek touring bikes and I bought them for my spouse and I to use for exercise, knowing that one was too large for her and I would need to sell it. I took them into Blue Heron and met Susan, asking to have both bikes tuned up, new seat and peddals for mine, and the bigger bike sold. I described my spouse, were older, like really older, and asked Susan to pick out a bike for me to take home for my spouse to try out. Susan picked a Marin, model Stinson ST, blue, and my spouse loves it! So, Susan did a great job picking it. And my tuned-up Trek runs like new. We now have a mutual exercise activity for years to come. Thank you Susan of Blue Heron Bicycles.

Brought my bike here for an expensive repair and it broke literally two days later. I wouldnt recommend them. After a few times working with them and getting pricey work done each time, Im guessing that theyre just over there to take advantage of college students who are desperate and dont know better. Thats how they got me. I went there the first time when I lived in the dorms and didnt have a car. I dont plan to ever go there again. The service is mediocre, they arent generally warm or friendly, and they dont give a very detailed document of what repairs they did or why the cost broke down how it did. I dont even think I got a receipt for the last repair, so of course they arent going to fix their repair job for me. Its fine, Im just never going again. I shouldve listened to the other poor reviews. They are there for a reason.

The people who work there are nice and genuinely care about people and their bikes. I bought my bike there 3 years ago, have ridden it every day, and its never had a problem. If I do need an minor tune up, theyre always efficient and fair about the cost of things - which is nice because sometimes I feel as if businesses take advantage of college students. Definitely the best bike shop in town.

This bicycle shop is the best in the city! Superior service and very fair prices. Ive been doing my bicycle business with them since 2000, and Ive never been disappointed. No high pressure salespeople. Just honest service. I dont spend too much time recommending places, but wanted to take the time to recommend this bicycle shop. You will not be disappointed!

Amazing service! Went in to get my bike repaired, some pieces of the brakes needed to be substituted. They also made sure everything else was working properly and I was able to pick it up within 1.30h!! Not expensive and very friendly!

I would definitely not recommend this bike shop. It probably has to do with its proximity to campus, but the service is poor and the price is high. It took almost 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge my presence. When I finally got an employees attention, I was informed that he wasnt on the clock. Eventually a lady came out and looked at my bike, and immediately started installing new parts (I had a malfunctioning stem) without even consulting me. It was only after I asked that I was told the price. I would have left, but because of time constraints/classes I had to bite the bullet and accept it along with the suspicious service fees. This shop caters to college students with busy schedules and who dont know any better. Dont go here! There are much better options in Eugene!

Best shop in the city. Owner and mechanics are super knowledgeable about both vintage and modern bikes. One of the first shops to stock Brooks saddles or offer refurbished vintage bikes and retrofitted fixes for sale. Also great place to consult regarding classic bikes, vintage parts, kit for randonneuring or general info about rides in the area.

I bought my 1st new mountain bike here years ago during the mid 90s (which sadly got stolen, and happens a lot in eugene), and purchased another new one here in the mid 2000s... both for commuting before i got back into road biking. anyway its a great local small shop and they are very helpful, and i purchased some locks & lights there a few times as well as rain gear. they also had an air pump outside which is nice. sometimes if it was a quick repair or fixing a flat, you could just go over to the other side of the street for something to eat while they fixed it.

Great shop! I rented a bike here twice over the last three years and the aluminum/carbon road Marin was $75/week. Excellent staff-- very helpful swapping out pedals and letting me adjust saddle height and so on.

Blue Heron bikes is a great place - they can be a bit pricey as far as new parts go, but that is likely due to their location (right by campus) and the fact that Im a poor college student and thus see everything >$10 as expensive. Their 20% off coupon in the Student Survival guide is fantastic, though, and has really saved me.The staff are very friendly; theyre always up for helping you out or humoring you as you contemplate a bike project. It does a good job feeling like the local bike shop it is. Theyre knowledgeable, but when they dont know for sure, theyll admit it. They are almost always open (even Sundays), and they have a healthy enough selection of used bits and pieces. When you need a nut or bolt, they have it (and itll probably only cost you a quarter). Really a great shop.

Blue Heron replaced a rear rim for me a year ago, and since then, I have had to bring it back 4 times to be trued and/or fix a broken spoke. The forth time they (finally) did the retrue for free, but left some metal shards in wheel, which subsequently gave me a puncture on the inside facing part of the tube. Im all for giving the benefit of the doubt, and chalking some of the repairs up to Eugenes rough streets, but, at 4 questionable repairs, I will take my business elsewhere, and suggest others do as well.
