Took my car in this Saturday for an exhaust inspection, due to my 2003 Camry was getting louder. Don the Manager I spoke with on the phone prior suggested I come in for a free inspection. So, I did. Then the tech which I didn’t get his name, but he was awesome. He asked me to take a look at the exhaust and the old original thing had 4 rusted out holes including the muffler the size of a ½ dollar through the entire exhaust. He advised me of the most cost-effective repair and they had me out the door in just a bit over an hour, fixed. Best service and very thorough and effective repair. Nice to have a quiet vehicle again. Thanks, guys!

I have NEVER had an issue with this Midas location or staff, and have been helped out numerous times here. I brought my CRV in for an oil change and alignment. I can’t say enough about how great everyone was at the shop! I have been other places where the sales are super pushy or try to take advantage of a woman but these guys were great!! They showed me how off my alignment was and now it’s prefect and I feel so much better driving with my family in the car. I will not be going anywhere else.

I spent over $1000 to fix a car only to learn on my own that is was out of oil. They never checked the oil! Obviously, I’d did not get my money back. Took a Toyota Prius into them, they worked on it and later stated that this car is not their expertise. I took it to Toyota and they stated that Midas screwed up my car. They found parts missing and things zip-tied together under the car.I like Don who works the desk but we have had numerous issues with poor quality and thousands lost. Will not be returning there.

Don was very nice throughout the process and helped explain what the situation was to me. I got my brake pads and rotors replaced completely and it fixed the issue ive been having for months. Glad I came here rather than waiting for my local mechanic.

I was driving down the road when my car literally broke down and I had to pull in to the nearest safe spot. Luckily I pulled into Midas where they quickly diagnosed the problem as a shredded serpentine belt. Not only did they fix the belt but they took their time to look into any other issues that might have caused this. They also kept me informed and went out of their way to keep me calm as they could tell how stressed I was and how anxious I was getting about the time away from the work I had left to do and the possible costs of the total repairs.Liz was working the front desk and took time to stop and talk with me multiple times amidst their busy day dealing with other customers and simply just let me vent and shared some laughs and really helped me to calm down. Liz kept saying “We’ve got you… you’re in the right place …they are the best… and they will make sure to take care of the issue.”Unexpected car repairs are hard enough to deal with both in financial and time costs to our busy days but I seriously am so glad that I was in the right place when this happened.

I will never go to another company for auto work! Midas has consistently been professional, even through two moves to completely different areas. Theyre knowledgeable, and have never tried to provide a service that was unnecessary. Other companies just want to make an extra dollar. Midas has always been honest and considerate of my time and budget. Theyve always explained everything so I can understand them without feeling talked down to our inferior just because Im a woman. Have been bringing my 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander to Don at Midas for oil changes for a few years now. Always prompt, professional service at reasonable prices. Recently, I stepped it up a bit and asked Don to do a full inspection of the car and let me know what he saw. I was at 130k miles and needed to see how much was left in the tank. Don called me back about 30 minutes later and provided the details of his findings. Tires, brakes, filters but everything else looked good. Don never tried to oversell me and provided honest insight into what needed to be done to keep the car safe and operating at a high level. Even with the brakes, he told me I still had about 7k miles left of the fronts before they needed to be done. Could have easily told me they needed it now and I would have never known the difference. I know very little about car maintenance but Don never takes advantage of that, or looks down on me for it. I would trust Don with all of my vehicles and recommend you do the same.

We’ve taken our cars to Midas in Crystal Lake for repairs and service for over 10 years now. We’ve never been disappointed. We’ve tried other repair shops in the past but none compare to Midas for their honest and friendly customer service and talented mechanics. I wouldn’t even think of taking our cars to the dealer or other repair shops in the area. Other repair shops are typically more expensive and don’t offer alternative ways of fixing things. At Midas they give you several options on how to repair your car while keeping your costs down. This is why we continually go back time and time again. It’s just rare to find these qualities in a repair shop these days. We always call on Don as the Midas shop in Crystal Lake. He takes care of all our family repairs and is super friendly and knowledgeable about cars!!

First time visit with no disappointment. I got a good deal on my tires, got the wheel alignment and had some bulbs replaced in a timely manner. Don has a lot of knowledge about cars and his team works well with him.

The Crystal Lake Midas is the very best. I initially booked appt online after hours. Don called next day to verify in the morning. The car went in and was looked at in under 15min. The estimate was quick the parts were available. I was done in another 45 min. 30 min less than time estimated. Don showed me my muffler which had a hole the size of Texas! Boy was I lucky. This is second time they have taken a major repair and quickly diagnosed repaired and got me on my way. I have never experienced such excellent service. Don communicated well and kept me informed about my car. Thank you!

However, I didnt realize that Midas is a franchise (since educated myself on their business) and it is run with the home-town care of small business. The staff over at the Crystal Lake Midas is fantastic, for a few years now Ive been using them for various things that go wrong and maintenance of my autos.Don Ottesen, the manager there is both fair and candid when it comes to what you need to get your car fixed - and I REALLY appreciate that!!! I never write these things because life gets in the way but I wanted to make a point to let anyone who is on the fence know that the CL Midas is the best place. Heres why: Vehicle repairs cost, no matter what - but Ive always felt good about the money I spent there as they do a good job justifying and giving context as to what they did, why it costs what it did and how to keep my vehicles in shape afterward. It feels more like an investment, and its proven to be right over the years. Horrible service !! The guy at the front desk was so rude, (cause I came back...)I was getting my alignment done on my wifes car (Saturday)I called them (Monday,) the car had a problem and it would drive to the right, he said I have a problem with the tires... ( All 4 of my tires are new) I said No I didnt have that problem before alignment! He said I have a machine for $120K lol😂Back (Tuesday,) after I got it fixed -It was not fixed, I drove around on the streets and had to go back again, a 3rd time fix and was not fixed again, after 4th time yeaaahhh!!! was OK, but the guy from the front desk said He doesnt want to see me again with any off my cars, because he lost today a $100 !!Excuse me ????Yesterday I was with my car in Firestone, very friendly peoples and I have a warranty for alignment for 12000miles with no questions!!! Perfect service. Id recommend going there instead.

Honest people, I will definitely come back to this place!!!! After being told from the car dealership that my hubby’s car had a crack on the exhaust and the replacement cost would cost over $1000, I wanted to check out other options for the repair. I ended up here...I spoke with Don, and was told to come right over! He took care of me right away, and had the car up & ready for inspection in no time!! A ridiculous comparison to the 2 hours of waiting at the dealership earlier that morning. To make matters worse, Don shows me the so called “damage”. Turns out there was NO crack on the exhaust whatsoever!!! It was in great condition!! Unbelievable!! And to think I was close to forking over the money for the repair. Thank goodness I didn’t!! So many thanks to Don and the people at Midas! I will not forget what you did for me and will pass the good word to anyone who will listen!

Had a GREAT experience! Another car shop wanted to charge me $1,019 for a new exhaust system...Midas re-welded the brackets for $75 and was good to go! Because of their honesty, I had them perform some other repairs that I had planned to do myself.

Although this Midas installer had no reviews on Tire Rack, I chose them as my installer based on past experience with other cars that Ive owned. I was not disappointed! Tires arrived at Midas the day after I ordered them. Received a prompt phone call from Don (the Manager) at Midas that afternoon and made an appointment for installation. Installation was performed promptly and flawlessly. The price also was very reasonable -- about $85 to balance and mount all four 60-series tires. Don was great -- highly responsive and respectful. I would not hesitate to use this Midas location again.

I went to them to fix my muffler last year and went back to them for my exhaust and was more than impressed with there know how and how they were just real people. I also took my car down the street to Firestone and they tried to charge me an insane amount for the same thing that Midas did for a fraction of the cost. Not only do I appreciate you guys but I appreciate not getting ripped off either.
