The Hive is the cutest little place I think I’ve been to in all of the Netherlands! The atmosphere was so great and the staff were so kind and helpful. Not to mention the food was absolutely amazing and was worth every cent. If you find yourself in Haarlem—or the Netherlands in general—go here! We will definitely be returning.

This place is awesome. Tasty, simple food, great coffee type drinks. Owned by a woman whose very nice father works here too. On hearing it was our first time in Haarlem, the owner came out with a little tourist map and drew us a route to things around the city center. Could not recommend it more highly.

Fantastic cafe in Haarlem, between the old town and the train station. The purpose/theme of the cafe is bees and bee-friendly, hence the name. The staff are extremely polite and helpful, outwardly and attentive - some of the best service I have experienced. The food menu was easy to understand, and the dish I had tasted amazing. Clearly prepared freshly and to a high standard. Same goes for the drink menu, and the lemon-honey iced tea I ordered. Presentation was immaculate. The environment inside the cafe is nice; feels clean, modern and spacious. There are seats outside, and a further range of items including alcohol is also available. Definitely worth visiting!

One thing I can say is this place is a must for those looking for a good breakfast/lunch place. They focus on honey products as well as raise awareness on bees and their importance. Top must try is their honey cheesecake. It is perfect.

Wonderful place especially if you want vegan or vegetarian food. Tried Humus+mushroom and humus+baba ghanoush sandwiches. Both were really good. The homemade ice tea was very refreshing. The homemade carrot cake was also really subtle and tasty. The staff was very polite and friendly. This is the first restaurant we visited after a very long time i.e. after thé lockdown opened and we are so glad we chose this one 😊

The Hive in Haarlem is a bee-themed cafe, which means the bee is central in everything that they do. Not only is the interior designed to fit that theme, with yellow and black details (and even little bees hidden everywhere- it’s a game! Find all 10 and get a lollipop!), also the menu shows what items exist only because of the pollination of bees. The Hive also sells great products made from beeswax, as well as delicious bee-friendly honey (only excess honey is taken by the beekeeper in the production of this honey).Robin, the owner, is super friendly, as are the rest of the staff. They always greet you with a big smile, no matter how busy it is.When you go there, I suggest the vegan carrot-cake (with a nice oat milk cappuccino), or if you go for lunch, get the brie tosti!Also good to know: the Hive is pet and laptop friendly.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with ‚The Hive‘ in Haarlem.It is located near a main street and thus it is quite noisy but we wanted to give it a try anyways because we like the thought of supporting bee-products.The prices were quite high in comparison to other places in Haarlem, so we expected good quality food or maybe even just bigger portions. But none of that. Small portions and also cheap ingredients...I found it quite sad, because Haarlem is such a nice town and there are many cute cafés there, but ‚The Hive‘ isn‘t one of them.

The decoration is just lovely, we loved it! Coffee tasted really good, with a small honey cake (more like a meringue). The fruit went really well with honey, and the hummus sandwich and soup were all nice!Very cute shop~ The coffee is delicious! Attached is a biscuit that tastes like honey (somewhat like meringue texture). Fruits are delicious with honey, and sandwiches and soups are also great.

Came by yesterday on the road bike. And what a lovely spot The Hive is. From the terrace you can see life in Haarlem walking or driving past. Tourists but also residents, you notice the differences in the speed of passing and the language of course. And as for the food and drink. The cappuccino is really super delicious. No bitter aftertaste and you taste real coffee. And the menu has now been expanded with delicious milkshakes. I had to try it immediately and then the one with honey and whipped cream. Divinely delicious, I have no other words for it. A fat recommendation. And finally the service, friendly, attentive and always room for a chat. If you are in Haarlem, drop by at The Hive. You wont regret that. The score of the reviews (4.9 on a scale of 5) says it all.

Yesterday a day in Haarlem with my boyfriend and I am glad that The Hive was the first thing we ran into because I was already looking for chai latte (as always). The chai latte here is super tasty and the owner offered me two types of chai flavors (vanilla and massala if I say it correctly). The chai latte was really tasty and also stayed warm for a long time on the way (very nice for take away). Super positive vibes and that while she started The Hive at the beginning of this (strange) year. We will be back for sure!

Nice coffee, good atmosphere and when it is busy you can still understand each other perfectly. This is different at some tents in Haarlem. They have vegetarian options and I think the vegan menu can be supplemented a bit :). All in all, definitely recommended and will definitely come back more often.
