Quaint coffee shop that offers various types of food and smoothies. Great vegan/vegetarian selection of food..They even serve alcohol which is an interesting take. If your really into coffee shop culture than this might not appeal to your taste. Its not really a coffee shop more of a sandwich shop that serves coffee but I get why they call themselves that. The staff is friendly and the food is good. My pizza was a bit burnt and tasteless but edible and nothing to complain about. Not a fan of the coffee either but Ill go back and try something different. Its a great little place and worth the 5 stars and yes Ill be back! 😊

Bomb food and drink, definitely give this place a visit! Ive had the dirty chai and a lavender latte, breakfast tacos, and a few other treats. There is also beer on top with some quality local options! The inside is a bit eclectic and urban, it is such a comfortable setting to sit and chat, read, or work. I also enjoy the spacious outdoor patio tables. The staff are top notch!!

We loved their house blend espresso in the latte. One of the places that Ive seen offer pour over experiences with a wide variety of beans to choose from and various pour over methods. The quinoa bowl and caprese were good as well. Highly recommend if you work remotely. They have space and the fuel (food, coffee etc) to get you through the day.

Second time ordering out from this place, both times I was hoping that BB’s would add more to the AΓ§aΓ Bowl but it seems like they only use 2 Tablespoons of AΓ§aΓ. What looks like dressing and not the actual ice cream. From viewing the pictures of AΓ§aΓ Bowl from other people pictures, ordering in it seems like you get what you pay for. Ordering out, I pay $9 a bowl for some skimpy aΓ§aΓ bowl that is very sparse. Looks like this will be the last time I order from Barley Bean.In the pictures, the circle shows the bottom of the bowl and nothing but granola with the aΓ§aΓ dressing. The bowl itself is not full at all or even half but more like a little layer. At first, I was like maybe next time it will be different but this time it’s still the same. Anyways, I should’ve been charge at least $4 for barely anything!

This is a great neighborhood spot to hang out and work or visit with some friends. The brunch on the weekends has a special menu including the Croissant French Toast- soooo yummy you will come back just for that.Whoever does the music has a great sense of history and milestone music with classic RB to A Tribe Called Quest playing at just the right level that you can work and converse but still enjoy. It has all the coffee drinks you could want and a decent selection of craft beers and wines. Breakfast menu is proper!!

Came here on a Tuesday evening was pretty busy.People were working on laptops. Some were tutoring, seemed to be the spot to go after college to study. They served happy hour till 7I shared a pizza with a girl friend. The pizza was pretty much just dough and barely any sauce. Wish there was more cheese too. I would ask for these extras next time.It took about 25 min to get.So if youre not in a rush its a pretty cool hangout.

Have driven past this place a ton, finally went in today. It’s really nice inside, they have a huge assortment of food- from breakfast, salads, smoothies, paninis, wraps and soups. Unfortunately we didn’t order their specialty, Pizza. Another patron raves about the pizza, I ordered the turkey and avocado panini and it was Delicious. Coffee was fresh and tasty, the staff is awesome- super attentive, they know customers by name, looks like they really do care about service. The only bad thing is parking, super limited, this place is a good spot to check out.

I drove over 120 miles to visit some new friends this past weekend. This was the place they decided on. We were there for about an hour and a half.A couple of us got there early enough to get in on the end of brunch. I got the croissant sandwich with eggs, bacon, and cheddar with a cappuccino. My friend got a pizza to share and another got a calzone (sorry, no pic.)The sandwich was super flaky, the bacon was nice and chewy, the cheese was appropriately gooey... That was a tasty sammich! The pizza looked amazing, too. It must have been because the leftovers went in a box to go, as did the remainder of the calzone.Parking looked like it could be a bit iffy on busy days, but I lucked out and got one right by the entrance. The location was easy to find, which was really helpful for an out-of-towner.The staff that I got to speak to were pleasant and helpful. If it happens we plan another meet-up I would happily go back. They had a good selection of yummy sounding foods, beer, and coffee, and I felt like I got a decent meal for a decent price at a nice place to visit.

We were visiting Austin for the weekend and on our way out were looking for a good cup of coffee and a solid breakfast sandwich. Barley Bean provided two good cups of coffee, specifically a lavender vanilla latte and a caramel latte. So I definitely say show up for the coffee, but don’t waste your money on the breakfast. We ordered the avocado toast and the sandwich #1. All breakfast items come with scrambled eggs, but these scrambled eggs are not fresh eggs. They’re the scrambled egg you find at a Hampton Inn or LaQuinta breakfast. The powdered eggs that when made look like yellow sponge bits. The sandwich #1 said eggs came with green peppers, the peppers aren’t mixed in with the egg and are cold. The salsa was really good and helped in eating the sandwich. I don’t like to waste food. The avocado toast, well, nothing fabulous. You can make a better avocado toast at home. Trust me. The meal wasn’t worth 30$, hence the two stars. But go for the coffee cause that was 5 stars.

Went here for the first time the other day. I only got their drip coffee but it was delicious. I would definitely love to try their lattes another day. Also got the pumpkin bread and it was also yummy. It was more spiced than your average pumpkin bread but for me that was welcome. I can see myself coming here often to support a local business instead of waiting in line at Starbucks. They also have food here that lol forward to trying. The service was quick and friendly.

I tried Barley Bean for the first time yesterday and liked it so much that I came back today!I got the draft latte with vanilla & oat milk and an order of oatmeal my first time, and this morning I got an iced lavender vanilla latte w/ oat milk and another order of the oatmeal. Both coffees were delicious, but the lavender vanilla was especially good. The oatmeal is great, nice and thick and topped with fresh berries and a really tasty almond crunch. Weve been to this location three times. The first time we went, it was not very good. It had just opened so we chalked it up to the fact that they were all new employees. Every time we have gone, they have gotten our orders wrong-it truly seems like the employees are flailing. They dont seem to be able to communicate orders to the kitchen and get the food out when it is hot. There was foil in my avocado toast and the turkey bacon seemed to be just warmed, not cooked. Despite their vast menu with fairly high prices, the ingredients seem to be store bought. We were really excited for Barely Bean coming into our neighborhood, and I hope they can make improvements and fulfill their obvious potential.

I gave it 2 stars because the staff was fairly friendly and accommodating and the smoothies were β€˜ok.’ Other than that, it really was not a good experience. There was very limited parking. Upon walking in the dining area it felt cold and too open. Not very welcoming. First time here and wasn’t sure how it worked but was finally given some direction. The menu looked alright, but when we got our food it was seriously hardly worth eating. Actually we didn’t eat it, even though we were starving! The sandwiches were thick slices of not very tasty bread and MAYBE 2 small round slices of cheese and a very small bit of turkey in one corner of the sandwich. The other sandwich was a caprese with 2 thin slices of tomato and 2 dots of cheese. They were so bare! We ate the contents and threw the bread away. The soup of the day was a type of gespacho that we took one sip of and tossed. Bland. We also expected an extensive selection of drinks and only saw a small cooler off to the side. We called a few hours later and was told there was no manager but someone would call us back. Nothing. Driven by here several times and was excited to try it. Very disappointed. Maybe hit it on a bad day but not sure if worth giving another shot.
