Store refused to exchange unopened item (with receipt) one day after 30 day return rule. Reminded them they compete with Amazon on this stuff and I am trying to support local business. Could have had it cheaper in 2 days from Amazon (no shipping). One day that important? Bad decision. Amazon next time!

As a Sys-Admin SWS is my go-to for misc parts with reasonable hours, prices, and service. The techs provide good advice, are helpful, and quick. The product selection is more convenient than ordering online and they typically have what I need when I need it in a pinch.

I had a hurried trip to Tucson yesterday and managed to bring my laptop computer, but failed to bring the power supply. I briefly considered an online store that could deliver the product tomorrow or the next day. It would have been fine, but when I found SWS, I found they were open on Saturday, they had living breathing staff with great experience and who offered options of used AND new power supplies, and who allowed me to check the power supply as connected to my computer. This is what local service is all about - immediate, trusted service and still at a reasonable price!I also could not help but notice the amazing high performance gaming computers....if only my ISP could provide speeds above 5mb!

These folks had a good idea and made a great product (computers NOT loaded with all the useless junk that the major computer makers force on consumers), but, as a company/customer service etc., SWS is awful to deal with! Great products but definitely not worth the hassle!

Purchased a component for my computer. Always had a good experience when we needed computer parts.

This store is deceitful, dishonest and not reputable. I took my computer in for a diagnosis, they charged me $50. When they called to tell me it was the battery and that replacing the battery was going to cost me an additional $190, I decided that the $35 dollar battery I finally purchased on EBay was not aligned with their $150 battery and $50 installation cost, so I decided to not have the battery replaced. At this point they demanded $25 to return my computer because this was a reassembled cost before they would return my computer. This tactic was employed by a dishonest transmission company 50 years ago. It was deemed consumer fraud by the government back then. The “reassembly cost” was not disclosed when I made the diagnosis payment when I dropped the computer off. I will never trust SWS.

Easily the best experience i’ve had buying a computer. Knowledgeable people with price competitive parts. I got a Gaming rig which would have cost me $1500.00 at Best Buy (Best Buy Name Tax) that only cost me $1047.97. Plus if i have any problems with the computer, all problems solved for free within the year. SWS Customer 4 Life. I can’t wait til they do 3D Printer parts and accessories

I went to SWS to purchase a graphics card and I was appalled by the high prices over MSRP. A card that goes for $250 (MSRP) is double that here. Amazingly enough eBay actually has cheaper prices for the new card in question which is unheard of. I understand the market is pretty crazy for graphics cards, but youd expect a local shop to have reasonable prices and not 2x over MSRP.Edited to reflect that I was referring to new card prices and not used.

Dont fall for their scams. record your conversations and have them write down every promise, offer, discount, etc. why? I tried to swap out a motherboard and CPU, was having a lot of difficulty getting it to boot to windows. RAM issues, mobo issues, ended up buying a new motherboard since the first was defective. I pay $50+ to diagnose to figure out why it wasnt booting to windows to paying them $100 more to just swap out the motherboard and they never checked to see if it booted to windows. they just said its fixed and when I called them out on it they told me I paid for them to ONLY put the motherboard in and nothing else. So here I am, a week with no PC and out $200. what did I get? A pc that couldnt boot still.The kicker? I would have to pay another $100 just so they could fix the issues I was trying to get them to fix earlier. Save your money and buy pc parts else where. this place doesnt deserve the revenue.

Great place to find computer parts in a pinch

I visited SWS Computers on Thursday April 6th to have a computer tower looked into and i was attended to by a young employee by the name of James. I was very pleased with the knowledge and attention and service from this young man who is VERY professional and pleasant and who gave me excellent advise I ended up buying a refurbished computer, and had a great experience at this store thanks to James and his great and pleasant demeanor.

This place is amazing and they have everything you need to build you next pc. I went in here just to check it out, and I was a kid in a candy store. They have a pretty good selection on main components, offering many of the most popular brands. They even have a lot of smaller stuff that wouldnt be worth the shipping if you got them online, like fan splitters and motherboard io headers. They also have a really good used selection, great for things like case fans that are overpriced these days. The staff was super friendly and willing to help any customer, as I saw them doing in the background. As for myself, a staff member helped me find the fan splitters and case fans that were on my shopping list and I got a great deal with them. They even have a waiting list system for all the parts that are hard to come by these days.

I have used this company twice for repairs and upgrades and was very satisfied both times. The staff is pleasant, courteous, and responsive. I thought their prices were fair and the work was done when they said it would be. They are the best local computer company I have used.

Absolutely appalling communication. I was tasked with bringing in my roommates computer, which was made by SWS. My roommate had called in multiple times to ask questions normally on speaker phone with me nearby. She asked about upgrading the CPU and was informed as long as she brought the part they could do a parts swap for 25 dollars. One of these calls was also to ask about having me drop it off which was said to be fine. Come to find out that she was lied to, and that the actual information was if you buy the part through SWS the price is 25 dollars to swap the part which wasnt in the call so they tried to upcharge it to a 37.50 because she didnt buy a hyper-inflated price for a CPU through SWS. (Because having tried buying parts through them, most of it is massively overpriced compared to market value.) They also didnt inform her on the phone that the price was an upfront cost so while they said I could drop it off instead they charged me the money rather then my roommate. Needless to say I wouldnt give my business to a store that cant even communicate to the customer the actual information and price of their request.Edit: So now the owner has replied that this was unjustified, or a hefty insult for something small like $12.50. To put context, I myself work as a tech in the front lines of customer service as well. Had I been that representative taking care of me, I would have been spoken to afterwards. The owners definition of rude or customer service based seems rather loose as Ive normally been treated better by other staffers. They also only honored the $25 dollar amount after I asked for management and they couldnt be bothered to come forward. I asked to speak with a manager because they should be able to explain to me why their staffers all give me different conflicting answers to one question. By the way Ive come to SWS well before the pandemic (for years) because I wanted to support local business. But their prices have been inflated since well before the pandemic, ram sticks and SSD that were charged 40 to 50 dollars more then anyone else. There is trying to make a living as a local company and inflating the prices. As to why it has stayed a low score, on explaining to their client (my roommate) what to buy they assumed a basis of knowledge that they did not have. So they bought a CPU based on the information given by SWS, that now cant be installed because it needs a dedicated graphics card. Which since the computer is a model that they built, SWS should be able to see whats in the machine and notify the client appropriately. Also, even if it is $12.50 your clients money regardless of the amount should be important even more so in these trying times. Which again, my roommate was not informed it was an upfront nonrefundable payment rather then payment upon completion of services, so I had to pay. It speaks volumes that the owner responding to me is complaining about being local and trying to stay afloat when they themselves do not apparently take the money of their clients seriously.

Well, theyre a bit inconsistent. Have taken stuff to get fix and sometimes they do good sometimes I have to take stuff back. Sometimes they are quick sometimes they take too long. Dont like that they charge you 25.00 to take a look at your item to see what you need, in addition to the charge for fixing it and for parts..

Update: SWS Manager and Owner stood behind this repair. We took it back and it was repaired so that it now works back. It was a hassle not having it fixed right the first time with a wrong setting but we appreciated the direct contact and the re-fix.FYI SWS Computers was recommended to us for a laptop failure. We took it in. A week later and a few hundred dollars and we got it back, came straight home and up pops a critical error message and the whole side of the computer is hot. SWS says we will have to pay to have it repaired.

I bought a supposedly refurbished laptop and it went out the first two days. After it was supposed to be fixed it went out a week latet again. And when it was in for warranty i got it back, took it home to find the the track ball mouse is missing the rubber cover and the enter key popped off and was just rattling around. I live 50 miles away and they dont understand what it costs to have to keep going back. The fingerptint scanner and the brightness controls dont work either.

Was looking to get some RAM and a GPU but I guess this store was not trained in customer service. Stood in one spot for about 5 min no one asked to help or if I needed anything then walked around and still nothing. It looked like a great selection.

I just wanted to see if I put my pc together properly. Dunno why it would take 3 days to do something that should only take 5 or 10 minutes

Called ahead to figure out how they were operating with all the new covid rules. The guy was very helpful, told us to come by, line up and they would bring options out for us to view at their set up booth. The wait was quick, got in line behind 6 people, and only waited a few minutes. Told the guy exactly what we were looking for, and he brought out exactly what we needed. Quick, efficient, and friendly. Would definitely recommend coming here for your needs, so much better than waiting days for shipping online.

Be aware! Keep your receipt in a safe or something. I bought a Corsair keyboard and mouse from them, which started to malfunction months later. I called them to inform them of that, and since I couldn’t find my receipt they said they wouldn’t do ANYTHING for me and to contact Corsair instead. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. I even went there and showed them the transaction from my Chase Bank app on my phone, and they said nope sorry, no receipt no help.I will NEVER EVER shop there again, and I wish I could’ve given them 0 stars, but 1 star is the lowest...

Great place to buy hardware upgrades, as often they are just sold MSRP everywhere. Might as well buy it here locally and drive home with it.Easy to get essentials around the PC, gadgets, cheap but good quality cables. Its a fun place to be. Never been let down by them.

Made me wait 72 hours on their own mistake, and now claim they will charge me for installing components I could have installed myself 72 hours ago. I will not be going back to you guys. Do not go there, l paid to have a computer repaired, they kept it for 2 weeks and did nothing to it at all. Now they are not allowing people to look around inside at the products they sell. Its totally ridiculous, l can look around in tons of stores, but not SWS Computers.

Their service department is run by helpful experts.

I needed a upgrade from Windows 7 (:() and was very happy with the service at SWS. I have been here before, but not with such a complex problem.I want to add, I know little to nothing about computers. I am an Oldster!At least that is my excuse! SWS knows EVERYTHING and is very patient. They set me up with everything at a very reasonable cost. I will always use SWS.

My husband has been going here for years. A couple of weeks ago he bought me a helping hands with magnifying glass tool. It is of mediocre quality at best and is difficult to use. (In fact it was never used because the set up and adjustments were limited and a mess.) Hence we tried to return it. Apparently they do not do returns on tools because they fear being a tool rental store. Perhaps SWS should sell better tools and make it clear they do not do returns when an item is purchased. We always try to support local businesses, but this was a bad deal. Maybe I can find a better product online.We tossed the item the day after trying to return it.

I have been going to SWS computers since 1999. They have amazingly low prices on cables and tools. The staff is very knowledgeable.

They are only performing curb side pick up. This would be fine if they said something on their website. As of 5/18, they do not. They also dont have any way to see what they have on their website. Also, this is the third time Ive come by for a USB c cable and they dont have any. What kind of electrics store doesnt have USB c cables in stock??

Im going to try to make this brief, and not a stab or rude. However, I desire simply to share my experience, and other shoppers/visitors can take or leave this information.I have visited SWS many times over the last year or so, simply to see what a local PC hardware shop has to offer. I am a very tech savvy person, I build my own PCs and know exactly what Im looking at, and looking for. I visited with the full intention of buying products I need if they had them. There has only been one time in approximately 5-7 times I visited that anyone has spoken to me. As an example I went to the store yesterday 1/23/2019 and there wasnt a single other customer in the store when I arrived. No one said hello, hi, or can I help you find something. Through my time browsing the store, still, no one said anything to me. I made eye contact with at least two of the store associates and the situation remained the same; no greeting, response, or offer of help. I proceeded through the gaming keyboards, the two sides/isles with computer cases, looked at the processors they have behind the glass cases - bearing in mind that Im on the market for the i9-9900K - I looked around and still nothing from the staff. I looked at the motherboards that are also displayed in the glass case, the graphics cards, all of which are VERY high priced items - again nothing from the staff. After about 15 minutes of browsing the store, and no communication from the staff I proceeded to leave - without surprise not even a have a nice day, come again, good bye - nothing. I will not be revisiting SWS because Ive tried too many times without success to support this local business.

I needed a new computer and decided to try a local company to give me the machine I wanted with nothing I didnt. I chose SWS and Im so glad I did! They were very helpful and professional to work with. Im not a computer guy so Brandon helped me choose based on my needs. They then set the computer up for me and installed the additional programs I wanted. They did all of this on the spot (took about an hour). The computer is great, suits my needs perfectly. It only has the programs and features I want and no extra programs or bloatware. They installed anti-virus, anti-malware, etc. and provided instructions on general computer care/maintenance. This is where Im going for all computer needs from now on.... Dan

While friendly and knowledgeable I purchased a motherboard during the hight in az of the pandemic the board was broken from the manufacturer due to the whole virus thing the receipt was either lost or i never recieved it despite acknowledging that it was likely possible to look up the card transaction and my willingness to take a downgrade just so my son has literally anything for school I was told too bad Im sorrry but we cant/wont do anything. Was my goto pc/part shop guess ill be switching to newegg/Amazon and will recommend the same for my friends and family.

Went in this morning to drop off laptop that needed to be fixed. Waited over 5 minutes and no one waited on me so I left, frustrated. Totally contrary to assistance I get on phone and past experiences in the store

If it wasnt for the 15+ minute wait to speak with someone I would rate 5 stars. Still the best place in town for anything computer. From networking to assembling your own they usually have the parts on hand. Technical help is very good if your willing to wait for it. Parking was a little rough with no exit out the rear and no signs stating that fact. Overall experience okay. I recommend them over anyone else in town in the same business!

I will only buy here. I was given a price over the phone for a part I needed. After a half hour drive I was told the item was on the wrong peg and it would be $15 more. In short, the owner honored the price that I was given over the phone. That is great customer service !!!! I am now a lifetime customer and will recommend SWS to anyone who needs computer related items.

I am giving one star to SWS Computer in Tucson. I recently ordered a new computer from them. After 7 days they called to say my new computer was ready, but they had forgotten to tag my tower when I brought it in for data transfer. They asked me to describe my tower so that they could find it.When I expressed anger and frustration at their incompetence, they became angry and focused on my anger, and not their screwup.These angry employees included a guy on the floor, the floor manager, and the owner.No one ever apologized. Even a do-it-yourselfer like me runs into trouble sometimes. I fix family computers all the time, but I managed to mess up my Surface Pro 4 beyond repair when I was installing a new driver. Nothing was working, the pen, the screen, the keyboard... I took it in and they offered to diagnose the problem for $40 and fix it for $100. This seemed like a bit much at first, but I needed it fixed. They came back only a few days later and said they could only fix the screen and pen, but would only charge me the $40. It was a good start, so I could at least use the tablet again.Then when I got home I found out they had actually fixed the keyboard too! So everything was fixed and it was a very good deal. Ill definitely be back next time I get in over my head.

Although they could not help me with repairing my computer they were friendly and offered other solutions for my problem
