I found Chirco while researching my Baja Bug project. You cannot ask for a nicer better staff who is always ready to give you technical advice on any project and help you find any parts you need. Their wealth of knowledge about anything VW is unsurpassed. Their willingness to help you through your project is amazing. This is the only place I use to get my stuff. My only negative comments which may not be all their fault is the time it has taken to get my parts, and the shipping seems really high compared to other places.

Prices reasonable and they say they will match prices. I have never tried to see if they do. They have been able to get the parts I needed in good time if not in stock for a 63 bug.

Very disappointed, having to replace the gaskets on the exhaust system Chirco replaced exactly 6 months ago. Funny how the shop down the street does a better and more thorough job then the Experts. 2 stars because they DID do a satisfactory job with the generator replacement - once I took off the tape and used heat shrink on the connections. NO, I wont be using these guys again.

Great VW products and prices, backed by friendly staff, and they are super knowledgeable too! I cant say enough good things about Joe, Frank, John and the rest of the gang. Ive learned a ton from them all. Plus they make you feel like family every time you walk in the door. I wish more automotive retailers did the kind of job they do! Such a standout business, plus every year they throw an awesome Bugtoberfest celebration. Ive been going for the last 5+ yrs and I wouldnt dream of missing it! Thank you for always taking excellent care of this amateur hobbyist!!!

I want to start off by giving a big THANKS to the Chirco staff. I have only had my Baja a little over a month now but they all have been very helpful in everything I’ve needed. If I didn’t understand something they explained it very well. I took the Baja from something that hadn’t run in two years or so and got it moving again, I couldn’t have done it with the help from them and the extensive parts selection they have.

👍✌️🚘🚘Chirco automotive is your one stop shop for all things VW. They always have everything in stock and their prices are some of the most competitive in the industry. I ❤️love the fact that you could go in to just buy a five dollar part that you need for your old Volkswagen bug and joe The owner is behind the counter and treats you like you’re spending 1000 bucks💵Always friendly they know everything in the world about Volkswagens🚘. I’ve been getting parts and service from them for over 20 years and have never been let down. Heck one time I called ☎️📞and I needed a starter and it was close to closing time ⏰and they said they would stay open until I got there. And you got to go to the bug Tober fest. I feel didnt get the correct value to cost ratio! i had no problem with paying them the amount they charged if the amount of work was done to my car as i was led to believe. Heres the scoop. I dropped my bug off on feb 20th to get it running, i had a new motor that had been linebored by them, new bearings and all internal parts except the case was from them basically i had them sell me a motor kit and do everything but assemble. I had my uncle who worked there for a few years previously as the shop mechanic/master fabricator assemble the motor well he died before the job was completed and i brought it to them with the explicate instructions check the torque on the motor and get it running. He does and i get a bill for $1200. 12 hours later oil is pouring out of my motor. I go back the next day and drop my car off a few hours later i get it back and the nechanic says there were a few loose bolts, he tightens them. A week later same problem so i take it back and its dismissed as a non issue vws just mark their spot im told. I take it back 3 more times before the issue is found. My case studs were finger tight. He says he only tightened the bottom bolts, really? He says hell fix it for an extra 150. Why only the bottom bolts torque checked, what did i even pay for? i dont know. Its called due dilligance which i feel was not done. their shop charges 75 pr hr so apparently it took them over 10 hours to do this job. They charged to unstick the valves, install oil pressure relief plug and a sand seal, (i didnt even need a sand seal i have a few differentpulleys and a simple call would have resolved this, besides the pulley he rigged on doesnt even turn smooth its bent, friggin bent not to mention the gland nut being finger tight) tune up, i have since then called other mechanics to get time estimate for said work its a few hours tops. I calIed the owner on it and was offered no consideration sometimes it can cost that much true but generally those are old motors with problems not new never been run ones. i was quoted 1600 for a complete motor rebuild new heads/cylinders in and out from a local competitor (who has also been in business just as long), so 1k for basically a tune up is steep. i payed for a performance job but instead i got what feels like the bare min for the maximum possible charge. My motor started running badly 2 days ago i checked it out and there wasnt any nuts on my right exhaust studs. Also have no bottom cylinder air deflector tins, sigh! i was led to believe that the mechanic removed my heads in order to unstick the valves which is the reason is was so costly but upon investigation the other side exhaust stud nuts (the ones that didnt come off) are rusted on, theres no way possible my heads were ever removed. 6 months later i took my car to another mechanic cuz the throwout bearing went out, i had an oil leak looked at, that has been happening since i picked my car up from chirco, looks like my rear main bearing is spinning in the case, apparently they never checked the endplay, or even attempted to investigate the leak, which they assured was fixed, and they assured my endplay was correct as they linebored and cut the thrust. thanks again!!! caveat emptor!! VWs are such money pit. Im out of patience and funds! No problem with them otherwise just seems like i paid too much. otherwise helpful staff that are knowledgeable, however with the amount i have paid them over the many years ive owned my vw and the pos condition of my car i just cant see spending more money with in their repair shop.
