Very professional, very knowledgeable and extremely great at communication! Matt had reached out to me numerous times to update me, or let me know of something new he had discovered, or a new benefit he could add that fixed an existing problem. It didnt matter what it was, he was brilliant. He treated my car like it was his own. He has a passion for this stuff. He even went so far as to send me update progress pictures of the work being performed. It was great. Matt is honest, fair, and a very good mechanic. Look forward to working with you again! I would and have taken my cars to Matt no questions asked, He has always done great work for Oakos and now his own shop. He cleans and takes care of any parts better than many dealers would.He will be handling any work on my Subarus that I dont want to handle in the future and doing track inspections for my car.

Tried multiple times to get my car in, not much of a response other than Ill get back to you. Seems impossible to get my wrx worked on there. I was ready to spend a lot of cash too. Im still giving 5 stars because I now understand hes working alone, and I know from his FB page that he is passionate about his work and does a great job. Just wish he could do my car lol

I swear Matt is the smartest and most knowledgeable Subaru mechanic I think I’ve ever met. Not only does he do incredible work for the price you pay, he knows what he’s talking about. You can tell he is extremely passionate about his work and he puts so much time and dedication into these cars. Not only has he inspected my car before I bought it on a only a days notice, he has saved me numerous times from misquotes from other shops and dealers. He treats your car like his own and will update you if any hiccups occur during the process or if he just notices something that needs to be done at some point. He is my go to guy and I recommend him to anyone that owns a Subaru hands down.

Matt at Flat Four is the kind of mechanic you are looking for.See it appears to be just him there, And when you get the one on one attention he will give you, You will feel a lot better about handing over your keys and hard earned money.While I was there I witnessed him give the same face time to a guy getting just an oil change as he gave me who is going to be spending a lot more than that by probably 10 fold.He will talk to and hear you no matter what your level of skill is, And a mechanic like me got no better than the guy who appears to not know as much., He treats everyone equally.Hes just a fair and honest guy.Its cool, Take your car to him, The wait is worth it. Had timing belt and water pump replaced. Matt was extremely helpful and accommodating, easy to work with. Great competitive prices and even better quality work. Best place to go, i highly recommend it.

I was recommended Flat Four by a fellow Subaru WRX owner and took mine there to have a creaking sound diagnosed. Matt was able to pretty quickly identify the location and cause of the sound, and he fixed it very quickly on the spot. From what Ive head and seen in his shop, Matts the go-to metro Detroit Subaru mechanic, especially for the turbo models like WRX, STI, etc.

Matt is a one in a thousand mechanic - extremely trustworthy and very expirenced. 10/10 service.
