I had my 79 911 SC engine, carburetors, and transmission rebuilt by Frank and I couldnt be more pleased with the service he provided. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone with a classic Porsche. Frank was communicative throughout the process and was always open to walking me through what he was working on at the time. He was also able to give me a ballpark estimate on the repair before starting the job and came sufficiently close to that number, even though the project grew quite a bit as time went on. I will be coming back to Frank for all my 911 service needs.

I’m waiting on my car to get some minor routine work done and I just want to say that Frank is awesome. I came here after a bad experience at Audi Greenwich. Sometimes, as a woman who doesn’t know too much about cars, I feel like I’m being spoken down to by the guys at auto service centers and body shops. Not here at Autobahn. Frank was clear and honest, let me explain my issue (without interrupting or talking to me like a child), and called me by my name instead of “miss”. He is so kind. Prices are also extremely fair - about half what the dealer quoted me. I’ll be coming here from now on for anything my Audi needs. Just wish I started coming here sooner!

The owner, Frank, did a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) on a vehicle I was considering buying. It was well worth the cost — he saved me thousands of dollars. The car I was looking at was very aesthetically pleasing but there was a TON of things that were mechanically wrong. Frank was thorough and honest with me. He even sent a video to my phone explaining what was wrong with the car and why. (I was not at the shop while the PPI was happening) I dont live in the area, but my positive experience with the shop has set the bar high for mechanics I will use in my city.

Brought my car in after the dealer gave me a high estimate for some significant service. Autobahn came in about 33% less than the dealer. When they looked at my car they found some other problems just waiting to happen and pointed them out to me and suggested I might want to cut my losses on the car, even though they would lose a big job as a result. I appreciated their honest advice. Based on this, I ended up trading in the car.

Great service highly recommended! I want to thank Frank a lot for saving the life of my BMW 5 series from serious engine damage, he explained everything what the car needed & even inspected it much better than BMW of Darien’s techs, the dealer was going to charge me thousands for the repair & told me only “one” pipe was leaking coolant vs Frank who found they were multiple coolant leaks around the engine even the upper radiator hose! Once again thanks to Frank for the big help & his honesty.

Frank was professional and courteous and he gave us more than one option in how to deal with a very costly repair job, which is not what can be said for the dealership who first looked at the car. Frank does great work and a good job communicating why you need to spend so much money fixing your out-of-warranty German car. Its not easy to find someone outside of the dealership who has the depth of knowledge that is necessary to work on these complex vehicles. Ive used Autobahn for routine maintenance (oil, breaks, etc) as well as random repairs (fuel pump, e-brake) and he has never let me down. I would definitely recommend this shop.

Wonderful service, a practical approach, and 1/3 less than the local dealer.A pleasure to actually discuss and prioritize repairs instead of being ‘oversold’ by dealer’s staff who, on past two occasions, really couldn’t discuss the repairs they proposed.Update: with Winter starting I needed a new battery installed and calibrated on short notice while out of town. AAA intended to install (swap) a lower end generic v. what was discussed and the dealer couldn’t tell me which battery they would install – only that it had a (very low) two year warranty.No one touches my car except Autobahn. Got it jumped, came home, and Autobahn squeezed me in and saved the day.

I went in due to my temperature gage acting up. He quoted me on a water pump which was just as much as a dealer would charge. I didn’t want to drive the car around like that so I left it there. He ended up keeping the car for 3 days. After I finally got it back on the next day, the exhaust got detached from the clamp while I was driving home. He kept claiming that he didn’t do anything to the exhaust and fixed it free of charge which I am thankful for. But now 2 months later it happened again and the first question in the repair shop was who fixed on a first place because it was not welded. I will most likely not go back there.

Brought in my VW to fix a fairly significant oil leak. Frank was both very knowledgeable and professional, and the leak was repaired in a timely fashion. Costs were very reasonable too (about 25% less than the VW dealership quote). When I picked up the car, Frank did a great job explaining the charges and even showed me the old broken parts from the repair. Highly recommend!

Whilst Frank clearly knows his stuff his prices are as high (and often higher) than the local audi dealership. I had a number of big ticket items done here and a trend emerged that I felt I was constantly being upsold. He also quoted me a number of prices and then increased them when it came to pick up the car. Im still on the search for a good European car specialist close to NYC....the search continues............

Took a little longer than I wanted but the job was done right and I trust the owner, which counts for a lot nowadays.
