These guys are very honest and professional. I recently moved to Stamford from Dallas and needed brake replacement. They gave me an appointment next day and shuttle service to drop me back to my apartment. They explained me what condition my brakes were in and how much the it will cost me. The price was reasonable and the job was well done!! I would definitely give them more business.

I own a Saab, so it’s not always easy to find a reliable, trustworthy, flexible shop for service these days. I’ve been taking my car to Mike and the guys for years now and have zero complaints. Not only is the work top notch, but the quality also extends to the people and customer service. The type of place where you feel just as comfortable dropping off your car as you do sticking around to talk shop.

I’ve been taking my Audi to Auto Tech for over a year now and have always been happy with service provided. As a girl, I feel they are honest with repairs needed and don’t take advantage of my lack of knowledge of cars. They have a driver whom will take you where you need to go whilst your automobile is being serviced. I highly recommend!

I have a 2008 Impreza with 60K on odometer that stalled on a stop light. I call the tow company and suggest the nearest auto shop. Unfortunately it was Auto Tech in Stamford. Service writer told me $129 for diagnose before he can give estimated price for a repair. He call later that day and said the technician has found nothing major issue except I need a new battery and minor tune-up. And told me it will cost $650 It’s a stiff price for a labor and new battery. I said I have other concern about my AC is not blowing cold. He said they will do another diagnose and give me a quote to fix it. They found out my car need a new AC condenser which cost $750 to fix. I paid $1400 after my Triple A discount. After a month my AC is not working again so I bring it back and they told me the new AC condenser works fine the problem is the compressor it need to be replace. it’s kind of fishy to me because when they diagnose my AC for the first time there’s nothing wrong with the compressor now they insist it’s broken and wants me to spend a $1000. Sorry to say but these guys are crooks and untrustworthy. I suggest to avoid this shop they will take your money and never fix the problem.

My wife was shopping in the area and got a flat tire. She called the facility and they got her right in with no questions asked. The tire was punctured and couldnt be repaired. They put my wifes spare on and didnt even charge her. Good ole customer service. Great guys!

Yesterday Auto tech once again proved to me why I trust them with my auto repair needs. Recently when I was at Honda for an oil change with my minivan they told me I needed new brake pads on front and rear relatively soon. I quoted the job with Auto Tech which both saved money but more importantly they told me I had 6 more months of wear on the rear and 1 year on the fronts. They sent me home and no charge. This integrity is so not present in the auto repair business and why i trust Auto Tech.

Picked up yesterday our 2005.5 Jetta MKV. Replaced sideview mirror switch, front passenger lock actuator, driver door wire harness and rear disk brakes. All OEM parts warrantied 15 months or 20,000 miles. Workmanship fitting and replacement was done professionally. You get what you pay for, assuming the installation and parts hold up, this is a good shop but it doesn’t come cheap.

Check engine light came on, my OBD meter said there was a problem with camshaft timing. (My VW has electronic variable valve timing.) Took the car to Auto Tech, they repaired it, at great expense, and I drove away, poorer but happy. But three months later, lights back on, same error on OBD. I returned the car to Auto Tech, who pulled it apart again, found a problem with the third-party camshaft adjuster theyd installed. This time they installed a genuine VW part -- job took the better part of a day, but they absorbed all labor costs. I only paid the extra for the new part -- which was a crapload more money, but what can you do? Its German. Never did I have to argue or persuade them to re-do the job. There were no issues at all. And the new part is covered by warranty from the day they installed it. Im guessing that I paid substantially less than the job would have cost at the VW dealer, too. I have used Auto Tech several times before this, and have always gotten a good job at a fair price. And now I have proof they stand behind their work. What more could I want?

I used Auto Tech for the first time today after receiving a Get to Know Us coupon in the mail. I have a 2009 BMW 3 series with 80k miles that needed its oil changed. The coupon included the oil change as well as some other checks on the car, including some fluids, tire rotation, etc... I work locally, and they dropped me off at my office, which was convenient. The shop called me after an hour or so after I dropped off the car to say that my air filter should be changed, which was outside the coverage of the coupon. The cost was reasonable. I said proceed. In summary, Michael (and the other gentleman) from Auto Tech was straight forward and easy going. I never felt pressured to do unnecessary work, as I often did at the BMW dealership. The pricing was fair, in part due to the coupon offer in the mail. I suspect they will be a better value than the BMW dealership and I will look to go back to Auto Tech when I need additional service or work done on my car.Ill continue to report back on my future experiences, which I hope are as good as my first one.Dean

These guys are great. Much better than dealership service center prices and just as technically proficient. Excellent customer service too. A day after my oil change and tire rotation, a screeching sound started coming from the driver side wheel well. They told me to bring it in without hesitation, found that a pebble had wedged itself in between my rotor and rotor plate. They removed the wheel and fixed it free of charge. Phenomenal experience. Theyve found themselves a repeat customer.

I had a BMW with 100K miles that I took to the dealer when the transmission started vibrating. BMW of Darien wanted $5,000 for a new transmission assembly. I checked the BMW forums and figured it was just a worn universal joint that connects the trans to the axle, so I brought it to Auto-Tech for a second opinion. They installed a rebuilt axle for a total of $1,000 ($300 parts and $700 labor)... saved me thousands! Now I have my Audi serviced there since the Audi dealer is a crook too. Again, saving me lots of $$$... They are very easy to deal with - always easy to contact by phone or text. Honest quality work

DO NOT take your imported car to Auto Tech for a Service Engine Soon or Check Engine light issue. I brought my BMW 325ci to them for this problem and they charged me for unnecessary repairs without ever solving the problem. They charged me $739 to replace a $35 mass air meter that didnt need replacing. The cars odometer showed that they drove the car 61 miles! When I brought the car back ten days later with the Service Engine Soon light still on, they tried to convince me that the engine was running cold and needed a new thermostat. I checked the temperature reading on the dash and it was perfected centered between Hot and Cold, so I declined the $700 repair. Earlier, they tried to charge me $750 to replace another working sensor, a Steering Angle sensor that only needed to be recalibrated, not replaced. I reset the sensor myself.

I took my Mercedes to AutoTech for an oil change and I couldnt be happier. They took care of it super fast unlike my last dealer experience where I waited for over an hour. They are far less expensive and every bit as qualified. In contrast, the dealer charged me $300 for my last oil change. AutoTech also included a safety check free of charge, unlike the dealer. They might not have a fancy espresso machine, but they are great mechanics and the free shuttle service is icing on the cake.

They will do a good job, but they are over priced. A $100 part is marked up more than 100%. They like to position themselves as an alternative to the dealer. Okay maybe they are 10% below the dealer. However, the dealer is so overpriced this does not say much.

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT take your vehicle here for repair. I have a 2001 Porsche Carrera. I took it here for an estimate on (2) easy but costly repairs. They quoted me $2250. I had the sense to read reviews online and thought to get a second opinion. The dealer quoted me $1750 and I ended up having it done by Morton Competition for $1600. These guys are a rip off. I believe they thought I was an easy mark, a woman in a Porsche, sorry not this time.

Had an appt for a simple fluid flush/replacement of the brake line as a maintenance procedure. I was told Should take an hr or so since youre the first appt of the day. OK, Ill go for a walk and be backWhen I got back, I was presented with 2 other repairs which were recommended. One being replacement of front brakes. Well, I asked the owner, Why does my electronic readout on the dash say Brakes OK, replace in 16K Miles. ??? And rear brakes 25K???Guess he didnt think I knew about the electronic reporting of the cars basic maintenance items.I just keep wondering how many people have been taken, as I may have been???True, I believe this repair shop may have the technical skill for repairs, but their business ethics are truly abhorrent. (and BTW, I had to wait another hour to have the original repair done)

27 months ago, I bought a secondhand Mercedes E500 4matic with 44,000 miles on the clock. I had it checked at a Mercedes dealership: $6,700 needed to be spent. I took it to Mike at Autotech; net bill, $2,700. I have had it serviced there ever since: they charge at least 30% less than the main dealerships but have all the original, and after market, parts and have saved me money whenever I needed that. They have the Mercedes computer for analysis; they have negotiated prices on new tires for me, below where all the tire shops charged; where I had a recall warranty, they sent me to a Mercedes dealership where I had a major repair carried out for $0.00. In short, my E500 now has 95,000 miles on it and it runs like a 3 year old at Belmont. But, more than that, they understand my needs and I can TRUST them

I had a common conductor plate transmission issue that Autotech were unable to repair. When I subsequently took my car to another Mercedes specialist I discovered that Autotech had damaged brackets on the transmission while putting it back together. Autotech wanted to charge me almost $400 for a problem that I had specifically identified and they claimed to have been able to fix, but could not. After I complained they agreed to no charge. My AMG had a suspicious 3 additional miles on the odometer. When I asked why?, the response was it was driven to their other facility, which is < 1/4 mile away (driven in 1/4 mile bursts?). Be wary of being surprised by the bill when you get it.
