Sleazy and underhanded way of doing business. Hidden fees are not disclosed upfront. This place will charge for equipment reconditioning when you bring your gear back - WHAAAT? Thats right. They expect you to pay that on top of their OUTLANDISH rental rates. No other rental shop has the audacity or insanity to do that. This is like chipping in for next oil change on a rental car. Way to go, Powder House!!!Its never a sound idea to rent equipment on the mountain (long lines and unreasonably high rental rates compared to anywhere else). However, Powder House manages to outdo even the Heavenly on-mountain ski rental rates. How, you may wonder? Easy. By dishonest advertising, slight of hand and non-disclosure.Case in point, their in-store display price next to different type of skis refers to the rental cost of ONLY skis, not a package. And because the rates are already so high, you wouldnt even think these may not be for a package. How is sleazy is that, considering that 95% of renters need an entire ski package? Its not until you return your gear that you learn youve been charged for boots separately. Your rental total is never pre-announced to you. Gets even better when you learn that theyve matched a pair of upgraded (read more expensive) boots to a basic ski package. All because they care about your comfort, of course. This business is run with ZERO integrity and hit-and-run attitude which is borderline fraudulent. Feeling dirty having dealt with this joint.

So sloppy, people working there show up and close when they choose, rude and don’t care.

Harold and his staff were great. They honored our Groupon even though it was technically for another Powder location. They had helmets which was great. Had large size boots too. Should have rented goggles though. Picked up the night before so we were ready to ski first thing the next AM. Drop off was a snap. Keep up the good work!

These guys are great. Friendly and know their stuff. Helped me choose where to ride and sold me my lift ticket. Powder house Express, go see Preston hell take care of you.

$6 an hour for a bike rental is the only reason for the 2nd star. Worst staff Ive experienced outside of a gas station. Equipment was in bad shape too, but we still had fun. Fire the staff and maintain your equipment people, then and only then will you have better reviews. Looking at prior reviews this should come as no surprise.

Awful quality equipment. Ive rented demo packages from Breckenridge, to Vail, to Keystone to Mammoth, and Ive never had the quality of equipment or customer service be this low. Travis the manager was disrespectful, and the employee who gave me the rental at the beginning didnt even ride. The range of board brands they have was minimal to say the least (2 boards to chose from when I was there). The board was minimally waxed. If youre a beginner and getting beginner gear it may be a good place, if you know what youre doing avoid it

Arrived when the store opened and the staff person said hed be with us in 15 minutes even though nobody was in the store except us - why tell the only paying customer you cant help them. Tried to rent the basic sport ski package but sport ski package not available - must upgrade to performance or high performance for additional charge. Hidden maintenance charge of 8.75% on all skis. Honestly only came here bc it was so convenient but next time I will choose another store.

Can I give this zero or negative stars?!I just wanted to rent snow pants, which Powder House cobfirmed over the phone that they do. When I got there, the cashier said he would check when he got a chance. I waited for 30 minutes only to overhear him tell another employee that they werent doing any more clothes rentals for the day. I was irked and asked him, who said that it was too time consuming. Nope, he didnt even give me an appology. Thanks for wasting my time...

The hours on Google Maps say 8:00 pm. Got here at 7:45 pm and the NEON OPEN SIGN is still on and door says closes at 7:30 pm.

Service was not good. Had to tell the person behind the counter so that he wont ignore me and just go talk to people that are next in line. Very chaotic.

NO RETURNS. They will sell you the wrong item, and will NOT exchange or return. This store lives on FRAUD. DO NOT SHOP HERE.

Not cheap, decent selection but not very friendly. Take a coupon.
