Fishing section has been kinda thin lately. Went in the other day and it was well stocked again

All the staff was Super great! A new pair of shoes, a new fishing rod and line and good advice on some great fishing holes, not to mention getting my fishing license! It really is a great store and the most excellent staff! If you need anything fishing, definitely see Craig- hes the best!

Very clean and little stock store. Great customer service. The man behind the counter had all the answers. And was really on top of his game. The gentleman and helped us over in the knives and firearm department was absolutely a great gelp. Thank you gentleman.

This store only cares about your money. wouldnt offer any assistance for helping with this repair. Gad to walk a half mile to another shop. Those are bad optics. Terrible customer service. Why would i buy the parts if you cant help with the install? that is disgraceful

Pretty much the same as all the rest of the Big 5s. I shop there for camping items, shoes, and today I bought a new large duffel bag. I also got a few of the blue ice things you freeze and put in the cooler. I looked all over the place but, I discovered them here at Big 5. None of the markets have them, nor did Kmart. They also have a good selection of winter clothes at a fair price.

Went to get 1 day fishing license. The guys were very helpful and friendly.

Hows everything you need when youre out visiting lake Tahoe

Theyre very rude. They think everyone is trying to steal unless theyre white.

If youre a person of color, do not shop at this store! My husband, our children and myself went to BIG 5 to look for shoes, and what we got the whole time we were there was an employee (this old man) following us like we were going to steal something. This man pretended like he was putting items away. But every time we looked there he was watching us, particularly my husband. The next time we decide to vacation in South Lake Tahoe we will not shop at this BIG 5... NEVER AGAIN!!!👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

Needed some hiking shoes/socks last minute before a hike and the staff was super helpful. Prices were great too!

Inventory is severely lacking, covid limitations on # of people in store was inconvenient but ultimately not too bad. So many bare shelves, or picked over and not restocked. Very disappointing to only find half of what I was looking for, while the Big 5 at home easily has stock on all of it.

It’s a Big 5, so pretty standard in terms of what they have. However this particular Big 5 has the most helpful staff I’ve ever found at one of these stores. Customer service is a dying art, but the team here is keeping it alive.

Everything you need when youre in lake Tahoe

If youre going camping or to the parks or any of the beaches and you want to BBQ, stop at Big 5 at the Y and get a propane grill and little bottles of fuel first....Tahoe has a ban on open charcoal flames. Cost is only $39.00 for the grill. Propane bottles sold in pairs at about $6.00. You need to assemble the grill but trust me its worth it! Big 5 is the only place in town that we were able to find a small tabletop Grill. The staff is Awesome by the way!

They actually sell sleds. Spent about 45 minutes around town trying to find a sled. Google only had a few places (each about 30 minutes to 2 hours away.

Bought a brand new fishing combo at home before I went to Tahoe. Sadly, the rod broke the first day I was there. I went and explained how it was bought at a different big 5. I asked if they would replace it and they were more then happy to help. They replaced the rod for me and even let me keep the reel. Thanks Big 5 :)

I really like this Tahoe Big 5. The lady manager I think her name was Kelly did the paper work for a 2nd amendment purchase. Shes very nice and patient and knows what shes doing.. She made shopping here a pleasure...

Every year we come and we forget/need something; excellent place for all our outdoor needs.

We stopped by to get some snow gears while visiting Lake Tahoe. Surprisingly they still have the stuffs were looking for: ski gloves, snowboards and boots. Every helpful and friendly staffs. Will definitely visit again for our sporting gears needs next time were in Tahoe. Conviencely off highway 50 right before you town.

They have the basics covered but the brands sold here are not the greatest. Occasionally they good sales on pocket knives. When youre in a pinch or need basic outdoor supplies theyre not a bad go to, but when I can afford it I take my business to Sports LTD near the village.

Very nice staff so four stars there. Had to knock down a few stars because the place is such a mess with equipment and goods for sale all over the floor. Place looked like a giant workers comp or injury liability case waiting to happen. We found sleeping bag on a clearance price anyway though and got back to our camping trip.

Great sale prices on shoes in general and a large selection of different brands. generally a good selection on ski and snow gear at reasonable prices.Some of their camping gear can be a little expensive but in general a good selection.

Thank Goodness for Big 5!!!It was our first time in the snow and we needed a couple snow worthy items. We were staying in South Lake Tahoe and it was a challenge to find decently priced quality clothing and shoes at the local stores, we went to five different stores and even a thrift store before going into Big 5.We found everything we needed at Big 5 to make our snow experience everything we hoped for! Thank you Big 5!

How do they fit so many sports under one roof? They have stuff for pretty much any outdoorsy activity or sport you can think of. Wait a minute... I didnt see any cricket bats / paddles (which is it?). Thats OK, they have pretty much everything else.

Great EXCEPT 😆 i need the Adidas tracksuits to drop down to 20 bucks a set. Then i can buy 3 or 4 and be done. Im reticent over buying a sh*t ton of em over prices. But one day i will do it. Only place in Tahoe that the older lady at che checkout was so rude. I was trying to find a coupon on my phone that I found the night before reason I went there. But now will never go back!

Overwhelmingly great year-round sales and a massive range of sporting goods, from Airsoft rifles to kayaks and camping equipment, this is definitely a great space for all Tahoe needs.

Its a good sports store. Looks like they got everything you need for what ever sports you are in to. But its kinda tight to get around in, in places.
