Great local shop for your running needs.Good selection of shoes and other items. They may not have every color choice for every model (obviously, there are more choices online) but they do have just about every model you may be considering.Most importantly, the staff is very friendly and helpful.

I bought shoes here a couple of months ago. They are the best shoes ever. I just came in and bought another pair. And had my husband get evaluated for fit and buy a pair. It really makes a huge difference.

Best in store experience I’ve ever had. Great staff. Ericka made absolutely sure I had the right shoes for the kind of training I do. And the tech to figure out the insoles, etc was amazing. Should have done this a long time ago. Probably wouldn’t have the injuries I have now. Can’t recommend it enough. Will be my one stop shop for gear.

I usually dont review shoe stores, but because my experience was so excellent I need to! It all started with being greeted by Andres upon entering the store, he was laid back and welcoming, perfect! He explained everything step by step through their fitting process which was brand new for us.We became VIP members even though we live in northern Michigan because of how awesome our experience was. Roadrunner Sports in Solana Beach was a pivotal experience with how I will further approach footwear. I came in with a very unique issue; a 23 year old with a neurological condition called drop foot, due to limb salvage surgery with bone cancer, in which part of the surgery consisted of removal of a nerve that allows dorsiflexion (ability for the ankle to move up). I provide this information because I wear a brace called an AFO (Ankle Foot Orthosis), which helps the lack of Dorsiflexion by lifting up the ankle for me with a carbon fiber spring plate that goes in the insole of my shoes. {I have the same brace as the 2020 NFL Comeback Player of the Year, Alex Smith (QB)}. I been Cancer free for about 9 years and have had drop foot since. I have never been able to find a perfect shoe for my AFO braces. I was previously a baseball player and now am an overall active person. I needed something that allowed me to feel normalcy within my gait and I how I perform.STU, was very helpful in this process. He took measurements for insoles that will allow me to be more successful with my gait and physical activities. STU then found a perfect pair of shoes for me (we went through 10+ pairs) that accommodated with my foot structure and most importantly, my AFO brace. STU took nearly 2 hours of his time for me, and that is something that meant so much to me. STU was very informative and educational when explaining things to me that relate to my performance and how the anatomy of my feet can be fixed in a position that is beneficial for me.STU went above and beyond.I didnt give this google review information on myself to boast about my life, I gave this background information to help describe how STU was able to take my out of the ordinary situation and make light of it. STU made it happen. STUs out of the box thinking was something that gave me new perspective on my performance and the way I approach my footwear going further. STU has made a huge impact on myself and the many others that I see have praised STU for his outstanding customer service and work ethic on finishing what he started. Thank you STU and the rest of the Roadrunner staff at the Solana Beach location for giving people better opportunities to reach their performance goals.

Not as many shoes or apparel to chose from compared to the larger, primary store but they can always order from the warehouse if you don’t find the shoes or size you’re looking for. Good return/exchange policy because you don’t always get the right running shoe on the first try.

The team and Stu went above and beyond to help me find the perfect shoes. Very knowledgeable and helped me feel confident with the shoes I choose! But, if I were to not feel the shoes I chose was the perfect pair, I know I can come back and exchange them (paid for this service).

Giving 5 stars as encouragement as the effort and attention is there… but I am glad I arrived within the first hour of opening as they quickly became packed and staff was overwhelmed… PLEASE STAFF UP!! They have a great, if expensive, product with their custom insoles that my giant of an 11 year old desperately needs with the growing pains she’s been having, already topping out on max shoe size for women… I appreciated Taylor’s time and effort early on. Sorry she was taken away and we were left to select shoes on our own as the store became packed… perhaps a post COVID volume spike…

Super helpful staff! I had been trying to find the right trail shoe, often wasting money on shoes from sporting goods stores that would hurt my feet. Went to the Road Runner store in Solana Beach and Teresa did an amazing job doing the analysis of my foot structure, making me a custom orthotic, and finding the shoe which was the best fit. The service alone is well worth the money spent here.

I’ve purchased several pairs of shoes from Road Runner Sports. The last pair was purchased on line and just simply would not work for me. I took them to my local Road Runner Store where I was met by a very helpful and happy customer service person who asked if I knew what style and size I needed. She exchanged them for me no questions asked, even though it had been several weeks since I had received them. VIP CLUB IS THE WAY TO GO.

Staff was friendly and helpful, but they sold me a bad product. I said I needed shoes with good lateral movement for playing ping-pong (in other words, tennis shoes), but the attendant sold me ~$100 weightlifting shoes that are very sturdy and heavy and pretty awful when I need to be light on my feet.

Very positive experience at Road Runner in Solana Beach. Personal attention despite very busy staff. I will say that, during the Perfect Fit process, the staff should make clear to the customer that the custom-insoles are an additional cost. That was never spoken nor was it suggested that you could go with the insoles that comes with the shoes vs. the custom insoles. It’s a little deceptive. Other than that, great experience.

Best running shoe fit and purchase experience Ive ever had about 2 months ago now. Did you know your feet continue to grow in late adulthood? The advanced digital technology and approach that Stu used to examine, size, and match my unique feet (yes one is different than the other) and body to running shoes was remarkable. All 3 shoes he recommended were superb and are the most comfortable new shoes Ive ever had. A+ 5-star treatment. Stu delivered gracious, humble, and knowledgable world-class customer service too. I shall return!

I went to RoadRunner Sports yesterday (26June2021) in Solana Beach. I walked out with a fantastic pair of shoes and these ridiculously comfortable insoles.I had a wonderful experience with my fit expert, Erika, who took the time to explain everything that was happening to me. She explained the each step and why it was important, interpreted the results so that I understood what they meant and really went above and beyond explaining the shoe types that would work best and why.Ive spent the last 8 years buying insoles from Walmart or ordering online, and they were better than the sock liners that come standard with most shoes, but they have nothing on RoadRunner Sports customs insoles. Its well worth the money.**If youre like me and dont want a lot of people staring at you/prefer a smaller crowd, make sure you do your fit test at this store. San Diegos store is bigger, but the fit test is done in the dead center of the store where everyone can watch you.

It was a pleasure shopping at this store. I did not know what running shoes would best fit my foot and was pleasantly surprised at the salesman’s knowledge of the particulars of each shoe. He also measured my feet, videotaped me walking on the treadmill and created custom insoles that are a dream to wear. I bought two pairs of shoes and will definitely return when I need more.

By far the best experience being fitted for soles and shoes. Arielle was extremely helpful with the fitting and it was very quick. Would recommend to anyone and will be going back to upgrade on cross training shoes.

The staff here are super friendly and helpful! great customer service here! really impressed by that. the only thing I dislike about this store is that they don’t have a ton of options in my opinion. there wasn’t a lot to choose from. also another thing is that the process of getting fitted and trying things on takes a real long time. Personally I don’t really prefer spending this long shopping but it is great for those who really want to invest in their shoes and learn about each one and find the best fit, but for me I didn’t fall in love with any of the shoes I tried given the limited options. But the return and exchange policy is a really great service and I really like that. Lastly the prices here are pretty high compared to other stores, you can get shoes 20-30$ cheaper at other places. But if you are really looking to invest in shoes, it is a pretty good place

The employees are excellent, very helpful and the store is really nice. I have been there twice and both times there where 4 or 5 customers ahead of me and only two employees so I waited over 20 minutes and when no one could help me I left. I wish they had more employees on the weekend. I will no longer be going to this location. The wait sucks !!

Taryn assisted in finding a new set of runners. Had previously gotten a pair at the Road Runner in Kearny Mesa. While this store isnt as large they still had a solid selection of shoes and apparel. Taryn and the other staff were very helpful and knowledgeable they offered plenty of recommendations without being pushy on selling extra stuff.

We came in with some challenges finding the correct size for a pair of Altra Torins. This had been going on for several weeks and was starting to get frustrating. Aaron and Isaac quickly put our troubles to rest and resolved our issue in a matter of minutes. They were calm, courteous, and kind.
