Got to me fast when I had an unexpected no start issue. Towed my heavy truck to my house for a very reasonable rate. Driver was also very friendly on the ride home. Hopefully I dont need a tow again, but if I do, Ill be calling them

Got my oil changed while I was there. I also have to mention the very cozy seats to sit in while I was waiting.

We returned from a weeklong vacation to a car that would not start at the Park and Fly hotel in which we had stayed. Gates Towing service was exceptional. The problem turned out not to be the battery but something minor. The driver had us on our way in minutes and refused any compensation for his efforts. All this on the July 4th weekend. Thank you!

Late last night, our Mini Cooper got swallowed up by a pothole in CNY. It blew out the tire and left us stranded on a busy highway. We called Gates Towing and arranged for a tow and tire replacement. Everyone we talked to - driver, owner, and service manager - were attentive, personable, and professional. Although we hope you or your family never get stuck on the side of a busy road late at night, these are the guys to call if you do!

Car broke down so I called my insurance company’s road side assistance. Was told I would be contacted within a few minutes by Gates Towing. A hour and a half later I had to call my insurance company again. They contacted Gates again and they said someone would be here in 30 minutes. A hour later no one came. I called my insurance company for the third time and they said Gates said it would be another half an hour. I asked the insurance company to cancel Gates and find another Towing company. I would push my car to its destination before using trying to use them again. I wish there was a way to leave zero stars.

The towing staff were fast, professional, and courteous while recovering the vehicle and took the time to explain the details about picking it up. When we called the office they made the pickup simple and provided a discounted tow to the repair yard. Have to say thank you to the owners for going above and beyond to knock off a days worth of charges too!Thanks for doing what you do in such a tough, misunderstood field!

Ive been to many other Companies and this one is the best Ive ever worked with very professional and prompt with all our vehicles. I wish I could of find them years ago.

Filed a complaint and they lied!Not only did they say he was wearing a mask they said he had disinfectant in the car. Be ware do NOT use this company. If they will lie about health issues imagine what else they would lie about. Tow driver was awful. First he did not wear a mask or even have one in the truck. Second while driving, my insurance adjuster phoned saying in needed to be towed across the street. He screamedI dont work for you! I replied by putting the adjuster on speaker, Its right across the street. He screamed again I dont work for him either . He refused to take the car off the truck saying he owned my car and refused to give me the keys until I spoke to the owner. To the best of my knowledge he has not been fired so be ware.

I really appreciate theirs service and will try to have them be of service to others in our community and region

I used roadside assistance through my insurance provider. Murrays towing was initially assigned, showed up and the technician was inexperienced and left without helping. I called a second time and Gates got assigned and I could not have been happier. They showed up right away. Knew what they were doing, got the issue resolved quickly and Brendan was super polite and professional. Highly reccomend them!!

Found myself with a car that wouldnt start. My husband and I made several calls looking for a truck to come and finally Gates Towing was able to come. They came within 30 minutes! The driver/mechanic was very efficient and nice. Thank you . Hope not to see you again too soon.

We called at 4pm to have a car towed at 6 and they were over 3 hours late when the truck driver called us he said he was still another half hour away so we had to cancel because we couldnt wait anymore. Their excuse was a huge accident on 390, but we called well before that took place so its pretty clear they care more about money than they do about customer service. Definitely will not be using them in the future.Edit: They did their best to amend the situation after the fact so we do appreciate that. It doesnt negate a bad first impression, but it was nice that they reached out regarding the oversight.

Showed up in less than 30 mins. I was expecting 45 mins to an hour.

I have only had my van here twice for different things but I absolutely love them here. They go above and beyond to make sure Im satisfied. They seem to really care about their customers and dont overcharge or do unnecessary work. I have 2 vehicles, so I will definitely bring them here to get any work done for now on!!

They go out of their way for me and after being in Rochester for ten years and having gone everywhere else for service and being screwed over by everyone else, I only trust Gates Towing and repair with my car.

These folks are legitimate, professional, and honestly all-around pleasant to work with, every time. While Ive never met Jim Fonzi, Ive been a fan of Gates Towing and the former Gates Automotive for perhaps a decade now. Had to call to get my truck towed. I called in a day before I had it towed to get pricing. Both times they were super professional and courteous. They told me the cost before hand and when the truck arrived, the driver was so friendly and professional and was really efficient. Was so impressed. Anytime I need a tow I know who to call and who to recommend.

My stepdad lives in Philly and bought an auction vehicle and some equipment attachments locally- I had heard Gates Towing had a great reputation so I recommended them; he arranged from Philly for them to drop these things off at my house. Tim, the man who towed my car, was kind, patient, and caring. He reassured me that everything would be okay, and he made sure I was warm and comfortable in the truck. Tony was very helpful in making sure I understood what was wrong with my car and how much it would cost to repair. He kept me up to date with how the repair was going, and he was fair and honest with the pricing. He let me know about another issue with the car that we will need to get fixed, but he explained that it could wait at this time. The entire company made a crummy situation better by making sure I was comfortable and confident in the process. They gave me a ride home so I wouldnt have to sit at the shop all day. They even got the repair completed the same day.

They were very slow. It took them 8 hours to pick up my car. Though it took them forever to get there, they were very personable and knowledgeable. When they get the job done, they get the job done well.

Im impressed with how much development that gates towing has been making to their business in the last decade. Ive been treated well each and every time I have visited and that is across all of their locations.

My insurance road side assistance hired Gates Towing to help me as my car broke down on 490 Saturday as I was heading home. The driver Bill was very professional as well looking out for my safety along the highway. I was kept posted on delays and he arrived right on time as the estimated time arrival stated he would. If I ever need to get a tow with my road side assistance I would sure hope they hire this company again.
