I was super skeptical about this company after reading these bad reviews but I trusted my gut and hoped for the best and I was not disappointed!! Wendy was super nice who helped me and assured me with this purchase! The lamps came quick, the quality is amazing and they look so good!!!

Great experience with Sales and Service. We had ordered a total of 10 Dolan Design lamps and I was nervous given the size of the order. But they all came in well packaged boxes and good condition. Sales provided the 110% price match guarantee even on a follow-up order for the same lamp. Awesome Sales and customer service! Highly recommend!

2.9 rating is way to high.I recently over the last several months spent over $2K with this company and they refuse to credit my account correctly or offer a store credit,GO FIGURE!A used 2 debit cards and a visa bank card to pay for my last order of $550.00.One of the items was used and missing parts so I returned it.Before returning the item I informed NYL that the credit could not go back to the debit cards because they are expired and cannot be activated again. NYL deliberately ignored my request and credited the debit cards in the amount of $184.89.NYL will now profit $184.89 because this money will never be debited from there account.Also beware that returns are extremely time consuming with all sorts of restrictions!There is no upper management willing to assist so if you encounter an issue with a product you are just out of luck.AGAIN 2.9 RATING IS WAY TO HIGH!

Purchased some parts from them earlier and they sent the right parts quickly. But this time, I was sent the wrong part (Model number of the part they sent is number off). They wont let me exchange it or provide a refund if I returned, so wasted $60 on parts that cant be used. But of course theyre willing to sell me more parts!I could have bought brand new light fixtures for the price Im paying for these parts. I think Ill do that instead...but Ill find another retailer.

Buyer Beware! After waiting 7 days from assigned tracking number with no activity I called. I sat on hold over an hour the first time then again over an additional 3 days spoke with Dana, Sandy, Jackie and Kristi. All blamed Sandy since she originally took call. (great customer service huh? )All said they had to confirm with their sales rep reason for delay. Each one had already verified the delay. Another stall tactic. This company sources products they did not actually stock the product I ordered. On day 10 I called to cancel order. I requested a cancellation email as proof. Kristi sent it. Two additional days went by no refund and then I received an email notice my package had been picked up. They advertise “world renowned customer service” which you will hear a hundred times while sitting on hold. The reality is they make up every excuse and only after you demand a refund do you find your product is suddenly now in transit. 16 days later it arrived.

Great customer service, selection, quick shipping, and great prices. I needed to return 3 outdoor wall fixtures because I didnt measure properly and one wouldnt fit the space. They responded to my email in a matter of minutes. The return shipping was free and they credited my account the day they received my returned items. They are the only vendor I could find that lets you search by fixture width, which was crucial for me to find something to fit my narrow space. I ordered new fixtures from Lighting NY and they arrived within days.

Would give it zero starts if possible. this company has no service at all!. Ordered 2 lights took weeks to get hold of someone who could figure out that this was not being processed. then finally one day after once again asking to cancel the order surprise it was shipped! no shipping e-mail or anything received and the product was shipped to a completely different address then on the order! Fedex then returned it. so if you actually want to receive your lights do not use this company.UPDATE: it takes a bad review from this company to finally reach out. No communication or emails until finally fedex returns the package and now you reach out to me? Where was this service during the month long trying to get hold of the status of my order?

Lighting New York is by far the worst company I have ever worked with. 2 1/2 months after my order and two shipments they still have not shipped correctly what I ordered. Keep leaving out a light and shipped even a light I never ordered. The follow up and any sort of timely service is subpar. I would save your time and shop somewhere else.

We ordered 3 pendant lights online from this store. They arrived on time, but 1 of them came damaged. We reached out to them, and it took them about 5-7 days to acknowledge our email and then they said they will reach out to the manufacturer to sent us a replacement light. It took about 5-6 weeks for the replacement light to arrive. Upon its arrival, I noticed it is the wrong light. It has a yellow tint, looks very old and doesnt match the other 2 lights. At this point it has been 6 weeks and I reached again asking to return all 3 lights so I can go to a local store and buy lights from there. They refused to accept the refund, and said they will ship out the correct light once again. What an inconvenience! As the other reviews state - avoid this company at all costs, unless youd like to wait 2 months for them to get their order right.

I live in Ohio and I have placed two on-line orders with this company -Six lighting fixtures. When I received the order, one of the exterior lights had a broken glass. The light was packaged very well in two boxes. I called and received excellent customer service and received the replacement glass with-in two days. Their email communication to me was also excellent. Thank You, Kassy, for the service behind the sale.

Be aware that if you at all install your light to see how it is going to look they will NOT return it! You have to do some digging to find this out but they are happy to boast RiskFree shopping, no where in this risk free shopping do I see unless youve installed it. Be careful. Read and understand their return policy before ordering. Although they have every right to enforce their written return policy, the attitude displayed feels to ignore the care and the customer in their customer care philosophy regarding their business. Dont you just love companies that ignore you AFTER the sale? We spent $850 on a light fixture that came with no basic installation instructions. I mean, its only electricity. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?So we called sales who passed us on to customer service who passed us on to technical support. You would have thought we were asking for information on how to wire the Space Shuttle. (Seriously, they seemed genuinely perplexed.)We called 12 times in one day with no answer. So we left a message. And then another one. No return call.That was two weeks ago.Makes me feel so warm and fuzzy. Or maybe that was me electrocuting myself.So here we have a WHOLE HOUSE that needs new lighting. Guess who were NOT going to be doing business with in the future? Plus well likely share our experience on social media.Consumers have more choices than ever thanks to the Internet. This was their chance to gain a bunch more business and they failed miserably.

I decided not to deal with this company after reading the poor reviews. I was offered the lowest price on some lighting and even an extra 20% of as a new customer. There is no place in ordering to add that percentage code. Seemed shady so I did a bit of review digging. Didnt like what I read so will purchase from a more trusted company. Great prices, but still waiting for my product (12 days and counting) which has been mysteriously been lost, the tracking number supplied was for a different customer ! Customer service told me mistakes happen every day and has been unable to contact their supplier to provide status updates (over a day now and waiting). Little understanding displayed of the inconvenience caused and so far no effort to try and expedite shipping - was told they cant even though the shipping was supposed to be 3-5 business days.

Spoke with Raheema over the phone this morning regarding 5 items I was interested in purchasing. Got great prices and walked into the store and was helped by Glen...also amazing. I narrowed by choices down to three. Easy enough, right? When I spoke to the store manager, Tom, the deal fell through. He didnt even honor the prices I got from Glen. He said he couldnt do it. Keep in mind this is Glen whos been in the business and knows how much he can chisel from the listed price. After spending the first hours of the morning there, walked out empty handed and upset. What was said should have been honored and the order put through. Would not recommend this store or speak to a more personable manager. You might have better luck.

SUPER HAPPY!! Excellent customer service!! They are fast and the best price anywhere on the internet. The prices advertised dont always appear the cheapest, but when you call for a quote they are by far cheaper than anything else out there. I purchased 3 gorgeous chandeliers from them and they allowed me to returns the ones I didnt like at no charge with no hassle.

Normal shopper, not getting paid for this: I’m so shocked by all the 1 star reviews that I almost didn’t order, but oh my gosh, the price was worth it and I called and they even offered us a cheaper price. Most of our order arrive within days and the last pieces arrived within a month. We weren’t in a rush. I’ve even shopped for additional pieces after because it’s so competitive.

This is the biggest scam anywhere. They make websites appear as if they are lighting manufacturer websites, but theyre not. The company will ship you lights, even if you cancel an order, and then will NEVER respond to you. Youll have to work with your credit card company and provide verification of all your attempts to contact them via phone and email before you can resolve the scam. This is a horrible scam of a business. Thank goodness for online reviews, which will hopefully save others from getting scammed.

Returned items with no hassle and they paid for the shipping when they didnt have to as it was our mistake. Customer service/sales (Jeannette S.) have been great. I highly recommend them.

Terrible customer service. I have left three phone messages asking for a return code in order to return merchandise and no one has returned my call. Whats more there is a 25% percent return fee. These items are drop shipped from the manufacturer, so Lighting New York charges you 25% percent of your item total to generate a return code and email it to you. There are better companies that offer better service on the web.

Customer service was responsive. The products I purchase were from bigger name manufacturers so quality was no issue. They do brag about FREE Returns and NO Restocking Fees but beware. When you CALL US FOR BEST PRICE as the website prominently displays, you will get a better price BUT you better look at the Returns policy (Item#3). That special discount renders your purchase non-returnable. I would purchase from them again but make sure I knew I wanted what I ordered.

This company is A+ They had the best prices by far. they beat Amazon and Ebay by 20% and included free shipping. I ordered 4 lights on Sunday and had them sitting on my doorstep in Seattle 8 days later. I highly recommend this company. I read the same reviews and had my doubts but I am a happy happy customer. They will be getting all my lamp business from now on.

Improve your customer service or your company will fade away! Worst Customer Service and Chrystal Mitch is the worst manager EVER!Dont fall for their free, and easy return policy scam, they are a lie. I only found out when they sent me my receipt, it said it at the bottom that on orders of 10 or more you cant return them. I spent hours on the phone with sales and they never mentioned THAT part.I followed your procedures and waited patiently for WEEKS, have repeatedly left message with Chrystal Mitch to call me back and she would not. I waited for 8 days to get an authorization to return my lights, had to call several times for that, with her ONLY getting on the line when I asked to speak with a manager.I shipped the components back, 5 more days, then It was 2 days after arrival that it would be 7 to 10 days to get the approval to return the components.Im still waiting to to find out when I just get my damn lights and its costing money every day this is delay. I tried to explain to Wendy what has transpired, but when she argued with me and refused to allow me to finish my sentence, and then hung up on me. I have had to contact the Sales Department to try to speak with another manager because I asked Wendy if I could speak with a manager above Chrystal she said there is no one else. A lie, his name is Josh. People, your company WILL NOT exist without customers!Just to be clear, their sales staff was great, except for not telling me about the return policy up front. If youre even thinking about dealing with this company, hope that NOTHING goes wrong because they simply dont care about you once theyve got your money. There are lots of better lighting companies out there. Find another one.

Poor customer service. Purchased (3) pendant lights for above kitchen counter. (1) of three glass pendants noticeably larger. Measured and it was 1/16” of bigger than other two. Tried to tell them and get a replacement. They said it’s normal for a manufactured pendant to have a variance. It’s the most ridiculous thing I have ever herd, I work for an electrical contractor and we purchase millions of dollars in lighting products every year, never has anyone tried to use such a poor excuse. But hey I can buy a new glass pendant for $35 and see if it matches the other two. Shop somewhere else and save yourself a headache.

They pretty much bully you to purchase, but then cannot deliver. Took forever to receive a paid order that was, supposedly, in the warehouse in PA. My electrician installed the lamp and then showed us that it was previously installed elsewhere. Wires were hand labeled and glass and metal parts scratched. Definitely never buying from them again. They will tell you merchandise is new, and then take down the one in display, package it very well, and let you take it home. Same thing with the light bulbs . Thieves and scoundrels. Please save yourself infinite aggravation, and take your business to a place where the client is respected.

Dont ever do business with these folks. The return policy prohibits installing in any manner the fixture to see if it works. So I have a $500 fixture with all the parts, no marks, in the exact packaging it arrived in but with the ends of the wire twisted where it was temporarily connected and they wont take it back. Satay away from this vendor.

Called 9 days after placing an order and found out that item has not been shipped yet.... The item has to be shipped from the manufacturer. Still waiting. No apology from customer service.

For the past 4 years if so I have purchased all the new lighting for my home renovation projects from Lighting New York. Their customer service has always been outstanding -something very rare these days. The free shipping and return policy is the best. I have had to return a few items and they make the process easy. One time a vanity light had a scratch which we discovered upon opening the package. LNY sent me a replacement which I received in 2 days. Their pricing is excellent and I am able to purchase top quality fixtures and a fraction of the price of a lighting store. Call the toll free number and work with a representative to negotiate the best price. LNY is a win-win in my home renovation tool box.

Poor customer service. Ordered two glass shades for pendant lights and they arrived in about a thousand small pieces! Took several calls (with no promised return calls ever received) to finally get new ones. They had packaged the original shipment terribly.The chandelier we bought and installed has some parts that look bent to us. But the metal is so flimsy we cant straighten it. Didnt notice until we installed. It was a fairly cheap price so we will live with it for a few years and hunt for another one.Wont ever order from this site again.

Never again! A very badly designed linear pendant ceiling light fixture that droops at either end (yes, the ceiling is level!). Customer service states that the product was made that way. Guess the Chinese dont know what a straight line is. The weight of the light fixtures is too much load, hence the sagging at either end. Poorly designed product with no quality control. Never again!

You did not try if it works in the store and it was protected in the box.. Can someone.come.to.our place on 58th str with a new one that is not.defective? Dont order through their website -- It seems customer service is non-existent. I placed my order and waited a week with no information about my order. I sent them an email and got no response. Disputed the change through AMEX and finally got a response that my order was on backorder for a month. Finding another fixture elsewhere I emailed them again asking them to cancel the order. Again, no response so after a week I disputed the charge through AMEX and received my refund.
