MM was so wonderful! My muffler had rusted through and came loose on my truck and when I took it in to them without an appointment they were able to take it right away and said it would be no problem at all. They got it totally replaced within few hours! The price was fair and they did an awesome job. They were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!

I was doing a road trip with my boyfriend and his family and we noticed that one of our tires was leaking air. After being on the phone with the Hertz for hours and no help we stopped here. Within 20 min they were able to check all of our tires and plugged in our problematic tire. Everyone was super nice and worked fast to make sure we would continue to have a safe drive to California.

My motorcycle battery died and I rolled it down from the other end of the parking lot. The manager and one of the mechanics helped me wheel it into one of the bays, got the seat off and got the bike charged and started back up! Great group of guys, excellent customer service! And the manager, what an epic moustache!Hard to find quality help like that these days.

Amazing. I called them at 5:15 to get a battery replaced, and it was installed by 5:45, and that included my 8 minutes of travel time. Plus the battery was still under warranty, so it was free.

Ive brought in two vehicles in the last week. The first is my business van for which they tested the catalytic converters and found one to be completely blocked off. After replacement the engine breathes like it should and pulls stronger than I ever remember it being.My second vehicle is a 2002 Toyota Camry. Rather than replace the catalytic converter they were able to perform a repair to the flex portion of the catalytic converter assembly for only $147! Thank you Brent!

My 2002 4Runner has had a check engine light on for a while.I had taken it to another mechanic who stated it was various issues, but I told them I corrected the issues they stated when I took it in.I took it to Master Muffler today, Jacob helped me, I had a misfire, and they got it fixed for me the same day. They did good and honest work exchanging the exhaust manifold. My car sounds brand new! The mechanic called a few days after and wanted to make sure there were no issues. Exceptional service from exceptional folks.

Both Brent and Jacob provide phenomenal customer service. They are so personable and just seem to be genuinely caring people. I took my car in for the advertised $80 A/C service and drove away with cool air. A couple weeks later, it stopped working and Brent offered to do the service again, not only at no cost but taking the car overnight for a more thorough service. They found a problem with the A/C hose and worked to replace it quickly, efficiently and for a fair, honest price. Upon picking up the car again, we actually ended up leaving our 2nd vehicle with them to be looked at for other issues because we felt so comfortable and trusting in this shop! Were so appreciative of the good service so far and plan on calling these guys up whenever we need more work done.

I love this place. Its the only place Ill take my car! The staff is so kind and knowledgeable, and I never feel like they are ripping me off or telling me that I need to fix things that dont need to be fixed. They always take great care of my old car and give me the best tips for me to do what I can to keep it running too! They are always super fast and when its something that will take a long time to fix, theyre so good about calling me and keeping me updated on the progress! I love this Master muffler location!

Always great and quick service

I needed a simple repair to one of my exhaust pipes. My vehicle had already been seen by a mechanic as well as a dealership. The vehicle is 15 years old and I am already familiar with all its flaws. This shop tried to sell me a new manifold and catalytic converter that I already knew I did not need. They also tried to sell me new tires saying my one-week-old tires were out of alignment so bad that they were wearing down to the metal. When I got the tires a week ago I also got the alignment and the warranty. This place tried to sell me parts I knew I did not need. The vehicle is 15 years old I told them at the beginning it does not need a rehab its not worth the thousands they want me to put into it. I needed just the new exhaust pipe. They guy let me take my car but tried to scare me that it wont last the trip back home. Ill update when my vehicle gats home no problem with the simple repair another shop does.

I had a Large EVAP Leak for years. I just made it a daily routine of seeing that Check Engine Light. Master Muffler solved the problem !!!!!

Dont let the appearance of this place give you the wrong idea, these guys are top notch!As an ex mechanic, I do most car work myself, but occasionally need help. 10yrs ago we had a SUV with a rotted exhaust system, and got quotes at 5-6 places, and all were very expensive. Tried MM&B and they were around half of the best other estimate. They got the job and did it fast, and it was very well done on a car hard to get parts for at the time.Fast forward to this week, I was doing a brake job on my Sprinter van, and the rotors needed turning to freshen them up. 5 places turned the job down, saying they dont do slotted rotors (because they chip bits, etc). I know this just means they are rushing or dont know what they are doing, I used to do them. I ran over to MM&B from my experience 10yrs ago, and they did them for less than everywhere else (who also refused to do them). The work was perfect, and they called me promptly. I get to bring the front rotors in next week for them to do those also.I cant say enough good things about MM&B, this place is great! Great team!

I would recommend this Master muffler, there customer service was awesome. The price was reasonable for the work I had done. I am going to say the part that impressed is they said 2 hours and was done 30 mins early. I had my muffler from front to back done the caliber and a oil change .😁

This place is awesome! They are very honest. I took my car in and thought the muffler was broken, it turned out to be missing some bolts, I was out of there in 15 minutes. I will definitely take my car there anytime I have issues in the future. Thanks Brent for your help!

Upon arrival I was greeted immediately. They quickly took my car in and took a look at my muffler. They told me that it didn’t really need to be replaced, but that it would be ok. I went ahead and had it replaced anyway. The had my car done faith quickly, in under an hour or so. Overall these guys know what they’re doing.

I took my car in last week to get a new catalytic converter ERG and muffler. That part went great but then I had a massive fuel leak that they didnt catch so for a week I was smelling gas and couldnt figure out what the issue was. Finally I caught it dripping on the engine, talk about potential fire or explosion. I took it immediately back in they got it fixed and it seems to be running okay. While I was in the second time I decided to get the driver side window fixed. Now when I get home the driver side window will not go up on track and smacks into the side of the mirror. Now I have to leave the entire window down for the weekend. Being charged $400 to install a new regulator and motor with a handle and I cant get the window up. Now I have the potential of somebody stealing my car over the weekend because I cannot secure it. So far the worst experience I have had. Definitely a frustration and sense its after company hours I cant do anything about it until Monday. But by Monday I may not have a car because it could be stolen. I would not recommend going to this location unless they can get some severe issues handled quickly.

Amazing service and professional!

Went in thought I needed a fuel injector replacement was informed that I need a new distributor cap spark plugs and a tune-up it went from $400 to almost $800. They did fix the problem hence 2 stars but charged me way too much. My car is idling funny I called back and they said they did not touch my carburetor I assume that would be part of the tune up very disappointed wish I could find an honest mechanic.

Once again they proved they are the best and the most honest. When we lived near by I always took my cars there. We moved to St George last summer and happened to be passing through Salt Lake this weekend. I needed my trans fluid checked as we were getting some warnings of it heating up. I went there this morning. They spent about 45 minutes checking things out. Even took it for a drive to make sure the trans was shifting OK. They said everything checked out OK and to just be more careful pulling our trailer up any grades. Go slow and dont stress the trans. And they did not charge me. I know for a fact there are places that would have told me they needed to replace the fluid maybe even do a flush. That is how they always treated me in the past and everyone else I saw as I used to sit in the waiting area. I cannot stress enough that these people want your car to be safe and will tell you the truth but will never try to oversell you. Believe me this is a rare quality nowadays for any business that basically has you at their mercy. Go there.. you will be a happy person

Referred to this Master Muffler location by my local mechanic. They replaced both leaking exhaust manifolds for a reasonable price and answered all of my questions (including showing me the old warped manifolds). They offered to have the mechanic stay late the day I dropped it off if it was important that I get the car back that night. I was very impressed with the service.

I totally found my favorite master muffler ever the employees were fast and honest. The service was great, they even called the next day to make sure everything was good, no one does that anymore. Also today I got brownies in the mail from them today, so nice.

I brought my truck in two weeks ago and Vic was really nice and trustworthy. Ive had one shop RIP me off and another that just didnt know how to keep a schedule. I originally came in two weeks ago to have them fix my muffler. I asked them to take a look at a few other things while I was there and they took a look and gave me some prices. There prices where totally far and I told them to fix it all. They fixed everything and my muffler the same day. And I had them replace two tires! I just showed up at 8am and wasnt expecting them to be able to get to it all but they where able to. I was super pleased by this shop. I highly recommend this place. I have been bringing my vehicles here for years and have always had great service and honest fair prices. Shane has been my goto guy and the only mechanic I will refer anyone to. Many of my friends and family have come to be long time customers of this shop because of him. I dropped my truck off today to have some work done and heard some news that does not make me happy! Its my understanding that he is no longer in charge of the shop and may not be there much longer. I do not trust just anyone with my three vehicles and my kids vehicles. I know many that come to this shop because of his knowledge, skill, ability to get the work done fast and the relationships he has built with them. I am not company loyal, I am however loyal to those who treat me right. I can say that if he leaves my business and the business of many others WILL go with him. Shane has worked his butt off the past few months to keep customers coming back. Even being short staffed or not having the qualified help that is needed in a shop of this caliber. I will be a great loss both in talent and business if he has to leave. I truly hope that he can remain at this shop!!

They did a full re-pipe job for me 1.5 years ago. I recently had issues with a hold in the pipe after a mountain logging trip. Seems a hanger got torn out. So they fixed it on a warranty!!! Really very nice of them!

So I went to this location for the first time about two weeks ago and I definitely recommend this place especially this location due to the customer service and also the price. Not only is it reasonable but the employees that work there are very professional and get the job done right. This is now my go to place.

I had been told by someone to not take my car to this specific master muffler but took it there anyways for convenience. There were issues with my car and in the end after putting in $2000 to have my car fixed it completely died on me. I dont know exactly what happened and who is at fault if anyone but I would not ever take another one of my vehicles to them!

Great honest service! I️ heard a rattle and they had me come in. My car was seen in just a few minutes and they found that I️ had a heat shield loose on my muffler. This master muffler has always been my go to shop for exhaust work on my cars (i have brought 3 different cars here). They do quality work, are fast and all for very reasonable prices. They are also very honest about what work needs to be done or not done.

The last place i went to shop for prices was Master Muffler in Layton and the prices they offered were amazing i had my car down in no time and the guys were happy to serve us.

My car failed safety at another place so I brought it in here to get a part replaced. When they looked at it they didnt notice anything wrong, gave it a thorough inspection, and let me know that the person who had done my initial inspection had made a simple mistake. They spared me a costly repair rather than just going ahead and getting me to pay for it. Friendly staff, professional service, and above all honesty. These folks earned themselves a returning customer for sure, I recommend this place to anyone who needs work done.

Weve been taking our cars to Master Muffler for over 20 years. Theyve always provided prompt, excellent, and honest service. Over the weekend, my rearview mirror fell off. I didnt have the right tool to put it back on. I took it in to Master Muffler, and they fixed it for free in 5 minutes. I cant recommend them highly enough.

They checked our vans alternator without charging a diagnostic fee. Fortunately nothing was wrong. They also waited while my husband walked there to make sure he got the keys even though it was almost time for them to close. We highly recommend them.

I have been bringing my vehicles to this location since December 1997. They treat me like family and always are looking out for my safety. They will only perform the work that is necessary and have advised that some non-essential repairs may wait for a while. Ty Madsen, the manager, is to be trusted to be honest and straightforward. This location of Master is the only placer that I will come. I have recommended this location to a number of friends in the past and they have taken good care of them also. Thumbs up to them.

Great prices and service. But my car came back reeking of cigarette smoke, which Im allergic to. Had to drive home with the windows down with it below freezing outside, then leave them down all day to air out. Not only is it rude to smoke in someone elses car, but its against the law to smoke in the shop (Utah Clean Indoor Air Act).

I took my car in to get the rear brakes replaced before winter fully hit. After picking up my vehicle I noticed a noise that had not been there coming from the front. I went back and was told that I had not only a bad bearing but a warped rotor as well. Not sure why they were in the front to begin with but they offered me a deal of $200 for them to replace the bearing that they had messed up.Please note: this would have made the THIRD time I had my front bearings replaced at this location in the course of 2 years. I had gone to this shop for the last 3 years but after what happened this last time, I will not be going back.

Best experience in a long time with a mechanic shop. defibrillation have my business and will drive for miles out of way. knowledgeable and compassionate staff. took care of my car like it was their own. saved me hundreds of dollars off of other repair shops.even when a repair took several hours or most of the day, they only charged me a couple hours labor. I just had a custom fitted exhaust put on for my 2005 Volvo S60R here and I am really impressed with the craftsmanship of their work. Im pretty OCD when it comes to my cars and they did a great job with the bends, fitment, looks and sound. They also gave me the exact price they quoted me for. While I dont have experience with their other services (being a car nut I do most of the mechanic work myself), I HIGHLY RECOMMEND exhaust work here!

I had a cat converter issue. I called and got a rough quote over the phone on my way there. I pulled in, had two guys right there to meet me even though they were still helping other people at the same time. They were very professional and charged what I expected based on the conversations we had. The lobby was clean and well maintained and I would def go back to them for additional service.

We did not have a mechanic for either of our vehicles since moving to SLC over a year ago. Master Muffler basically ruined my Honda minivan. In addition to having a couple of repair or maintenance jobs botched by them, most recently I was given poor advice that ultimately damaged the engine of my car. Master muffler could not diagnose my van needing a new cam shaft sensor and over the course of 2 weeks, my van was in the shop being run while attempting to diagnose the problem. Because it took so long for the problem to be diagnosed, my catalytic converters were also damaged or plugged up. After repairing the sensor, I basically drove my van away with a check engine light on as it came on during the drive home with catalytic failure. The mechanics, however told me to save money to just run some cleaner through the fuel system and it could clean them out and I could avoid a $1200 repair. I did this and even told the mechanics I would be driving the car to Oregon and they said it would be good for the car to get hot and put more cleaner in and clean out the cats. Well this did not happen. In the middle of Idaho, my van broke down and to make the story short, driving with plugged up catalytic converters damaged the engine. Master muffler was incompetent in diagnosing my original problem which led to other problems. Although the company may say they ate the cost of some of this whole fiasco, I am ultimately the one that has to pay by my car being ruined. I dont ever plan on using them again. Why is it so hard to find a decent mechanic?

Always reliable and fair pricing. When theres been times they could have charged double, they didnt. They have a good reputation which means theyll probably be busy when you need them so do yourself a favor and call ahead.
