This store is so amazing I was so shocked to see all the different desserts in dishes here! They have a big Carousel of gelato and sorbet and it actually spends around! Imagine that! They have a self-serve bar you can choose from meat salads even tofu! If you have not visited this store you must get here pronto the prices are steep but this is a very good health food store

I come here at least once a week for the hot bar/salad bar! After working all day, its a great way to give my family healthy, delicious food fast! My family loves the bakery! Also, this is my favorite place to buy produce and healthy snacks. Because of the Kids Club, my son expects to get free fruit at any grocery store now! Haha!

I love shopping at this location! Well, that’s until I received really bad customer service from the cashier this past Saturday. I didnt catch his name but I can best describe him as wearing long dreads. He was not nice at all. As he started ringing my items up, he would not speak. Even after I spoke to him. He didn’t tell me my total. I guess he assumed that I could read the screen for my self. After the transaction was made, I said “Thank you.” He simply looked at me as if I was poison & never said a word back. I have never been treated like this at this location. Should I return, I will much rather stand in a line wrapped around the building to keep from being service by this guy or simply go where me & my hard earned money will be appreciated. Someone needs to tell this guy that he chose a service profession therefore he should not take his bad Saturday’s out on paying customers.

I was excited to have this location in my area because I frequented the Mountain Brook location. I soon realized there would be several disappointing visits due to the lack of products. Including produce and vegan options. The hot bar is mediocre at best. Especially vegan options for breakfast. The fact that I cannot purchase chicken by the pound for my family is frustrating and I’m forced to buy the prepackaged meats. One of the biggest pluses for this location is the staff. They are always friendly despite the minimal choices available as compared to the Mountain Brook location. It has gotten to the point where I bypass this location and make the long drive to 280, simply because I know they will have what I need.

Tried out the Hot Bar at this location yesterday for lunch...incredibly disappointed. Very few options to choose from and what was there, looked like it had been out for awhile. If I could make it 280 during lunch, I would. I know you can do better Whole Foods! Also, the lines were crazy long as only 2 cashiers were open but they did eventually open a third to speed things up.

If you are a fan of the salad bar/hot bar from any other Whole Foods do not go to this store expecting the same. Usually the salad bar has at least a few pans of toppings that you have to scrape the last little bit out of the bottom, but today absolutely nothing was out. I was going to get something from the hot bar but everything looked like it had been baking under the lamps since last night. I would rather waste an extra 20 minutes of my lunch break and go to the store on 280 than go to this branch again.

My wife and I frequent this location at least twice a week. A few weeks back I purchased some oysters and when I got home shortly thereafter many of the oysters were rancid despite being placed on ice. Today I purchased some of the turkey wings that were on sale and once again when I got home I opened them for grilling and they smelled absolutely terrible. I considered grilling them but ended up throwing them away. The meat and seafood staff are incredibly helpful and courteous but sometimes I am skeptical of the quality of fish and meat that comes from the department. As for the remainder of the store, it’s not uncommon to find expired items on the shelves, especially in the produce section.

I’m in Hoover frequently for business and was excited to have Whole Foods nearby as an option for take out meals to keep me on my diet. But it’s incredibly disappointing. The hot food bar is slim pickings, the food looks like it’s been out all day and poor selection. The produce isn’t anywhere close to what I’m used to seeing at other Whole Foods.

Great location. Pricey products though. There is a place to order food and a seating area. Dont assume all is healthy though. I got a slice of pizza, thinking it would be healthy but is was very greasy. Fresh delicious food bar, but, its about $8 per pound of food.....OUCH to the wallet! Is this really necessary guys? How about some specials or considering lowering the price? On a positive note: The produce is fresh. Dont assume all is organic. Just read the signs.

I keep forgetting I can use my Prime membership at whole foods. I have not used the Amazon Locker service yet and decided to try that today. I also needed to make a stop at the Walmart Neighborhood Market as well. I can safely say that I couldnt tell which store was which. I travel for work and eat at whole foods hot bars all over the country. This one needs serious work. The first night I came in I left without eating because nothing looked fresh. The second day I came in before lunch and picked out several items. Nothing wowed me and once again, freshness was questionable at best. They also have a whole hot bar taken up with nothing but plates and food containers. That might be a sign that not enough people actually eat at the hot bar for them to care about the quality of it.

When this Whole Foods opened they put a lot of effort into customer satisfaction. I ate at the hot bar at least 3 times per week for several weeks. It had a decent selection and it was kept fresh. It has steadily gone downhill. Several times over the last few weeks I have walked out and went somewhere else to eat.Today was the last straw. The hot bar was atrocious. Almost everything was crusted over and had obviously not been checked on or stirred in an hour or more. The icing on the cake was the 3 workers behind the deli counter on their cell phones instead of doing their jobs. Stirring food on a bar isnt that hard and Im sure it is someones responsibility. This is nothing but poor management and they better get it under control if they want to stay in business at this location. Whole Foods customers are willing to spend too much for groceries but they arent the type of people that are going to tolerate substandard products and terrible customer service. Personally Ill drive to 280 from now on. Im not going to spend my hard earned money eating garbage while the workers are standing around with cell phones in their hands.*edit- the cashiers are fantastic, very nice and helpful. My problem is with the way the food is kept on the hot bar, specifically lazy workers not doing their jobs. It doesnt take much effort at all to stir the food to keep it from looking disgusting and to restock selections when they are empty.

Good presentation and friendly employees, but was immediately greeted with an overpowering fish smell that nearly made us turn around and leave. It seems overpriced on many items. That said, there are some excellent things that are worth the trip and cost. The make-your-own peanut and almond butter is excellent (if also a bit overpriced). The on-tap / beer growler selection was well rounded and local (and not as overpriced). Im not sure if it is management or suppliers, but this store never has everything that I need. I can get some of my groceries one weekend and then others the next it is never consistent. I am former military and I’ve lived all over the United States and I have to say this Hoover location is by far the WORST Whole Foods I’ve ever been to. They are never stocked up on anything, the sushi is never ready and the few ones that are ready taste awful, they have ZERO idea as to how to make the sushi and they don’t care to even learn since it’s been this ways since they have opened! I asked about the ready made sandwiches today which every other Whole Foods seems to have packaged and ready by 11:30, and was told they don’t do those at this store, smh. There were two or three wraps in the ready made section that were expired, no take home pizzas and some weird cold croissant thing and that was about it. This has been my experience EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. I go to this location. I’m done, won’t be returning, lesson finally learned.

The produce was also very fresh. The cheese counter didnt have a super exotic selection and the man working the counter didnt really meet my standards for the qualification of cheese monger. The restaurant at the front, Hops N Sauce, was nothing. Everything offered on their menu was also available on the hot bar in the prepared foods section. No need to eat there unless youre excited about eating in a grocery store. On the upside, the store was very clean and I had a delicious cold brew coffee from the coffee stand, which I believe is run by Bham favorites Revelator Coffee...Ill be back to try more meats and cheeses, but I was a little let down after all the 2 year hype building up to the opening.
