This Walmart off of hwy 280 in Hoover is one of the best Walmart stores I have ever shopped. This is a very large place with a great selection of merchandise. It is clean and very easy to maneuver around. However, this store has the same issue as the other Walmarts. They never maintain stock of items. What you can purchase today may not be in stock, or on the floor, tomorrow. They have many empty shelves and there is no consistency with anything. There is also no employees to help you with items that may just be in the back stock. But this large store appears to have a better variety of items which gives you more choices if your item is unavailable. I like there merchandising of the cold items. They use enclosed refrigerated units to hold the cold items. Nice!

Just horrible. They never answer the phone. Customers need help sometimes.

If Im being honest I received the excellent customer service as the associate got on her hands and knees to help me find a shirt for my husband for fathers day and his bday next week(she and I clean this up as we searched, it was way worse). This is why ppl just go with Amazon, no organization or pride I the store at Wal Mart.

The store is okay! But the guy who makes the sushi is horrible he puts way too much rice in there. After I had that Sushi I feel like I need a cup of water to wash down the Sledge of rice. Really the worst sushi but I had. The rice overpowers the flavor of the actual content of the sushi.

It sucked. Shelves were bare, not a true Deli to be spoken of..it all came wrapped in plastic. The pharmacy sucked. While they were very friendly and helpful, having a prescription from Michigan.... and this is Alabama....🙃

Grandbaby and I went shopping. For her groceries, she wanted to take home with her,and shes just 6. She loves smoke sausage, grits, oatmeal with raisins, pancake, waffles and other vegetables, we found everything but the Zieglers red hots, here we call them hot links. The store was clean we got in and out fast just in time for her mother pick her up.

This store is horrible. I really dont like giving bad reviews during this time of life that we are in; however, this store is dirty. I will say that they stepped up during the initial pandemic, but things have definitely gotten back to the way they used to be here. My husband and I shop here regularly and this week just totally grossed me out. First of all, the vegetable bins are always so dirty and empty. This week, I picked up a container of grape tomatoes and tons of bugs started flying around. I picked up another container and the same happened. Shelves are always empty and dirty and the self checkout is totally gross. I dont think the check out stations have seen any kind of wipe in quite a while. Also, some people that hang in this store are annoying and scrary. I have been yelled at in the parking lot when ignoring a request for money, I have been asked for money while shopping in the store, and this week the same happened. Someone that I see in the store on a regular basis came up to my husband and pretended like he knew him (this person has done this before) and was standing right outside of the door asking people for money as they exited.Management at this store has always been an issue - people are bothered and purses being snatched in parking lot, dirty and empty store, some personnel just plain rude, attitude, and more interested in conversing with each other. This store needs new management for sure!

Awesome store. I felt safe, and I was confident when finding what I needed. A lady had already closed her line but offered to go ahead and check me out because I didnt have alot and because I had my grandbaby with me. So, whoever checked me out, Thank You for going above and beyond to help me get my teething, cranky grandbaby what she needed and out of the store as soon as possible. I wish this Wal-mart was in my local neighborhood.

For the area it’s in, you would think this was a nicer Wal-Mart with good workers. Such the opposite. I will travel to Chelsea to try to avoid this location.

The Auto department here is great. Closing time for them, car in front, took me and another customer. Patched my tire. Thank you!...today 9/6/19 they told me they were not taking any more cars at 6 so Im changing my own tire but they let me use the hose and told me where the pressure was on the inside panel or my door. They were busy ... Thats them taking a car... 9/7/19 2:20pm came back today and they are not taking cars again and tires still losing air.

I get so disappointed with this stores pharmacy! They send messages that your prescriptions are ready, but they NEVER ARE! Their whole system was down on visit today, so not only could I not get a friends prescription, but I was also unable to purchase Sudafed, which I desperately needed! Ugh!

This walmart is superior. I worked at the Walmart in roebuck in 2020, and it was not so great compared to this one.

It’s extremely frustrating how slow pick up is. I’ve been waiting on ONE bag to pick up for almost half an hour now. I don’t know why I bothered to do a pick up. I could have gone in and gotten it myself in less than 10. They need to get on it, because this is ridiculous.Edit: not to mention you can’t get ANYONE on the phone. Literally no one. It’s a dial tone that goes on indefinitely.Edit: been here for 45 minutes now. Most incompetent group of people I’ve EVER seen.

Folks in the auto department are superb. Roderick was the only name I caught - and he was great to work with - but everyone in that section was friendly and eager to help. Wish I could get the rest of their names so they get the credit they deserve.

Most of walmart associates need an attitude adjustment.... Treat customers with respect and be willing to help. This may boost business. Also, answer the phone when a customer are calling and acquiring about a product(s).Been to Publix many of times, have yet to meet associates with rude and nasty attitudes.

I seem to go there almost everyday and the bathrooms are always clean!

I bought something online from Walmart I ended up needing to take it back so I brought the original box it was sent in to customer service and they told me they didnt have printing labels so I was unable to send it back and get my money back

This is WalMart. Pretty standard stuff. Which is what you want from a very standard type of place. My wife loves when the greeters say hi, so she can say hi back to them. The greeters are what make WalMart great.

Why is Walmart getting rid of cashiers? Every time I go in, there are less cashiers. What about elderly people or handicap people who would struggle to ring up, and bag their own groceries? Where is the customer service? You are taking away jobs from people who need income.

No employees to help...ordered online for pick up and still took me 45 minutes to pick up 1 item..I assume Walmarts philosophy is their customers dont have money to shop anywhere else so long waits and zero customer service are not affecting profit.

The employees that work the night time self checkout department are very helpful and informative, the store closes at 11p.m SHARP the woman that announces this on the loud speaker makes that VERY CLEAR in her announcement!

This Walmart is kept pretty clean majority of the time I shop here (bathrooms and all). Produce gets restocked midweek I noticed because it is usually out if I shop on the weekends. Most of the staff that I’ve come in contact with is friendly and helpful. The only thing that I will say is not to use VISA gift cards here because for some reason they don’t work and you will be stuck trying to get an associate to help for a while just to realize that you can’t use the gift card.

One if the cleanest stores here in Birmingham. And easy in and out.

The store had the big plastic totes i was looking for. I didnt have any problems finding it. The price on the shelf was different from what it rang up. But the cashier took care of it

When this store opened it was great, but over the years it has gone to the dogs, I dont know who manages this store but clearly they have no leadership skills. Its run very poorly, too many people standing around in yellow vests and not enough people manning the checkouts, the self checkouts not always working because theres no one to service them from behind when help needed, Walmart corporate needs to look at this location, walmart owners, directors, make a lot of money, its us, the public that spends a lot of dollars and they need to visit this location, but Im sure they dont care.

In 1998 I found this Walmart and never one time has it been even a hint ofA bad tripFrom cleanliness, customer service, to product selection, it’s always above par.

Absolutely the most incompetent group of humans ever assembled under one roof. I ordered tires 7 days ago and was told it normally takes 24 to 48 hours for them to get them from the supplier. I was informed they would contact me when the tires arrived. After waiting a week I tried to call the automotive department. I let the phone ring for over 5 minutes but no answer. I then called the main store and after 4 minutes a person answered and told me the automotive number didnt work and I would have to call them back on another number to get connected. Called that number was transferred, waited 5 minutes but no answer. Called main number and after 5 minutes asked for management, waited 15 minutes but no answew. Since then I have called the main number over seven times and still cannot contact a human.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well-lit, clean, and organized this Walmart was! The produce selection is great. Definitely one of the better Walmart’s I’ve been to!

This particular Walmart is in a good part of the city and is always fully stocked its nice to not have to worry about parking lot crime shopping late night when I get off... Plus being that I always work late its usually the best place for dinner instead of fast food in the middle of the night also... Walmart gives you convience with no convience fee and thats why they will continue to dominate and Ill probably be shipping here late nights for the foreseeable future.

I do a lot of traveling, and I’ve got to say this was one of the more impressive Walmart’s I’ve been to, mainly because of the great customer service! Everyone seemed genuinely excited to be there.

One of the worst Wal-Marts Ive ever visited. At 900pm, its like a damn ghost town. Nobody wants to help, no workers anywhere in sight. Took me 20 minutes just to get a manager...who then had a bad attitude. As usual Wal-Mart sucks, sucks, sucks......

Four stars for a Walmart (let’s keep this in context).

This is by far 1of the best Walmart locations Ive ever gone to! I live in Trussville but work off 280 so I try to go to the 280 location as much as possible, unless Im wanting to buy plants.. Its always stocked, they keep up with the restrooms, and it always smells clean. There are always plenty of employees on the floor to help and have all been very nice! However, I do have 1 grievance, They DO NOT take care of their indoor plants! I get so frustrated over their crispy, un watered, un nurtured, unnecessarily deceased plants! Please do a better job of taking care of the living things..if you do not want to take care of them, just donate them to me and I would be more than happy to keep them alive! Other than that, this is a great, well kept Walmart!

Its Walmart, as much as we hate it we have to go there sometimes. If the cashiers where polite and friendly, or even there it might be better.

Not a friendly environment. The greeter was not welcoming. I did not find the 2 things I was looking for.

I use the pickup service, they are very accurate. I have not had a problem as yet. I love the service being able to drive up and get my order within minutes. I think now they know my car

The people were helpful but the cashier seemed uncaring, uninterested in service. Did not say one word.

Walmart is always Walmart!!This one however has unique character in that the employees are always sweet, kind and available, the store is always well stocked and Very brightly lit, (Thank you Walmart). The hot food is always hot and always fresh. I very much suggest.Oh and if you need automotive services, Joey or Ms. Pam will help you on your way!!

My experience at this Walmart was surpsingly good today. I was greeted by about five different associates and had one ask if I needed assistance. Thats never happened before at this location. The store even looked brighter and cleaner, maybe from all the courteous employees.

Its was a big store, so you had lots to choose for. The isles where bigger than any store, it made it easy to get down with out bumping into other customers. I really enjoyed visiting this store
