I was actually across the way having a bite to eat tonight, not at Childress Service Center. Childress is a great family owned vehicle service center. Fast fair prices and prompt repairs. Ive personally been using Childresss for over 40 years. Its changed hands a few times, always remaining in the family.

They are awesome. We have taken all of our vehicles there. They keep you posted on all issues with your vehicle and their prices are great

I got my state inspection done here. Everything went reasonably quickly, with a good system in place for managing Covid risk. Staff was friendly and responsive I showed up just before they opened at 7am, and my car was done at 8:10.They look run down, but get the job done.

If youre African American, dont take your car here.Because its true. Im not afraid to say it

Except for my not getting there early enough Childress is always quick, competent, and reasonably priced.

Great little place, fantastic service and fair pricing. I took my car to the dealership (my first mistake) for an oil change and state inspection. They told me that it failed the inspection that I HAD to have my rear struts replaced, an estimated cost of approximately $1000, along with a few other small things. I called around a few places and decided to get a second opinion from Childress Service Center. They were not only able to fix the issues for WAAAY less than the dealership quoted me (like, under $100), but they also quoted me almost half of what the dealership did for the struts.

You can get an honest inspection here. No easy pass, but also no bs stuff to take your money either.

Ignore the bad reviews its probably other mechanics in the area trying to lower their reviews. I always bring my car and my wifes car here for state inspections. They are always friendly and get me out quick. Their state inspections are cheaper than other locations.

They took care of my wife and I when we had surprise repairs and had the decency to help us out without taking advantage of us. We are always very busy with work and its nice to have a local mechanic that we can trust.

A fantastic, trustworthy mechanic here. They are small business with a focus on doing what is right and getting the job done and wont screw you over with pricing. If there is something that they cannot do, they will suggest someone who can.

This place is dishonest and takes advantage of women. Also very expensive. Dont bring your car here! Family has been loyal Childress customers for years and theyve done nothing but get worst. Will charge you repeatedly even though they never actually fixed the problem in the first place and will pick your car apart on an inspection to try to get more money out of you. Have also heard of them putting used parts on peoples cars.

Outlandish prices. Ive tried to use them on different occasions. This week alone there was a four hundred dollars difference around town. They dont even seem to want your business when you call.

I had a great experience with their repair. They got my truck right in and replaced my starter the same day. I was also happy with the cost. Definately a place you can trust.

Childrens Service center is a great place to take your vehicle for simple maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, all the way to major repairs, and anything in between. Occupying its same familiar location in Willow Oaks Shopping Center, on the corner of Clemwood PKWY and Fox Hill road in Hampton, VA. it has been a familiar sight for many passer-bys for quite a few years. So if you need any kind of work done on your vehicle, Childrens Service center is a honest and respectful garage to take your vehicle to.

I took my car in because it was running hot. Childress checked it out and informed me that my car had a crack in the engine block. Furthermore, they also told me that they had done some research and that my car had an extended warranty because of a design defect. They encouraged me to take it back to the dealership and push the issue. I did what they said and now I am getting a new engine for free. Childress Service Center has a lifelong customer in me. They are honest, hard-working people that will look out for you and not try to get over on you! Thanks Childress!

They may not be the cheapest, but they do great work at a good price, and best of all - they will tell you exactly what they can or cannot do, and give you good advice on what you should do - without trying to sell you anything you dont need. The best auto shop in Virginia Ive been going there for about 8 years and they are the best in Hampton Virginia in the whole state of Virginia.

Horrible customer service. The owner treated me terribly and hollered at me in front of a customer and argued with me about what his son told me about my car earlier and said he didnt even look underneath it. Then he barked that Id been there 3 times and asked me what I wanted? Wow! I barely got to say a word as he wouldnt let me talk.
