Rob Garcia at Berthod Motors GMC was awesome! I’ll admit my must have list was a tad ridiculous but I knew what I wanted and Rob was able to find me exactly what I was looking for. He made the whole experience so easy. Usually purchasing a new vehicle can be extremely stressful, but Rob made it a great experience. I drove hours just to buy a truck from him and I would totally do it again. I 100% recommend letting him hook you up with your next vehicle.

Just bought a 2018 Chevy volt from Adam and his team at Berthod motors. I had done a lot of shopping on the internet and found a really good deal on the volt in Glenwood. I live in grand junction co, so Adam and I were able to get all of the negotiations done before I drove up. The actual purchase was very pleasant and Adam was very kind and helpful. We share a love of the mountains of western Colorado so were able to enjoy some pleasant outdoor-themed conversation. I would highly recommend Adam and his team at berthod motors !!

Really enjoyed our experience shopping with Josh VanSeters at Berthod! We live in Montrose, a good 2.5 hr drive from the dealership, and we have a new born. So when I called up with questions about a used vehicle and to make sure it was worth our while to make the trip, Josh was very helpful and informative to answer all my questions. Then when we came to test drive, he had it all ready for us to go as soon as we got there, even had calming music playing for the baby! We called two times and left a message but never got a call back. So we drove to the dealership and talked to someone in the service department about a pump for our Jeep Wrangler. He quoted us an outrageous cost for the part and labor. He gave us the quote on a piece of paper handwritten. He told us it would be 3 weeks until they could work on it. We left feeling he really didnt want our business. We will not be going back so he got his wish!!!

Update 08/04/20: Finally got the Jeep back from Berthod. The transmission was completely replaced and under warranty thanks to Jason. After speaking Jason and all the issues Ive had, he was able to get my transmission replaced under warranty. I hate that Ive not had the vehicle for a month now, and had to talk to the service manager to get it covered.If your service advisor is Don, ask for someone else. He doesnt care about getting your car fixed in a timely cost effective manner. Don is also terrible at wearing his mask/face covering with customers in the shop.Update 07-28: Theyre still working on the Jeep. Apparently the warranty replacement transmission was approved, now looking for a new manual transmission. I guess manuals are rare?Update 07-20: Speaking with the service Manager Jason, and laying out my issues over the last few weeks, Jason has agreed to look at the Jeep more closely. So far Jason has been very communicative of the steps hes taking to resolve the problem with the Jeep. Hopefully Ill be able to update my review with higher stars.Original review: Made an appointment on July 6 for my Jeep. After I heard nothing from them for a couple days, I called in and was accused of not making an appointment. After reminding Don I did have a appointment and theyve had the jeep for 2 days already they said theyd get back to me. After they finally looked at the Jeep and then they claimed they were unable to reproduce the problem. I asked them to try again, as the issue with the transmission is painfully obvious when driving around town. After they successfully reproduced the issue, (by actually driving it) they didn’t even look at it for 4 another days. Once they looked at it, they claimed my clutch malfunctioned in such a way as to invalidated my warranty on the transmission. BS. Replaced the clutch on their recommendation instead of rebuilding the transmission. Shocking enough the new clutch didnt fix the problem. Obvious transmission problem is obvious to everyone except Berthod motors. Wasted 2 weeks and 2 thousand bucks for nothing fixed. NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR HERE.

Christian Schlubach is an absolute Saint of a service advisor, as are the rest of the service team. My wife and I have our Jeep serviced at Berthod regularly and are always treated with the utmost respect. I just recently had an electrical issue with our Grand Cherokee. While I went through hell with my aftermarket warranty and FCA, Christian and his team went above and beyond to try and resolve the problem to the absolute best of their abilities. Regardless of outside circumstances, our Jeep was fixed swiftly and is back to running smoother than ever. I really appreciate being able to rely on such genuine, helpful people. It makes car problems at least a little less miserable.

Walked in with the intention of spending several hundred dollars on a chainsaw. I stood in front of the chainsaws waiting for assistance for several minutes. There were two unmasked male associates behind the counter, talking to another man who was also not wearing a mask. He may have been a customer, but they were not talking about anything related to equipment sales. I made eye contact with each associate. I was the only other customer present. Still, they chose to ignore me. Not sure if it was my mask or my gender, but they didnt think I was worth even acknowledging. Ill take my 700 bucks to a business that respects all customers.

First off I have family who works in sales. So I decided to take my Yukon Denali in for an oil change, winter wheels and tires installed, and an airbag light. Thinking I would be treated like family, but i wasnt, i was quoted 300 to fix the airbag sensor, 30 for oil (was on black friday special) and 20 for the tire change over. Oil and tires were taken care of, but then I was told it was going to cost 650 for the airbag sensor. I asked why and Don said they already performed 2 hours of diagnostics. So I asked how long is the sensor going to take to install, they initially said 2 hours, when I said I didnt want the sensor for 650 Don said well you still have to pay for the diagnosis, and I said Im not paying you for something I told you was wrong, do you really need to diagnose an airbag light? So Don then said ok its going to take a half hour to install, Ill take 100 dollars off your bill, im thinking thanks for giving me money off my bill that was put on for a diagnostic that was not needed anyways. But I agreed to have it fixed. He said it would take 30 minutes. It ended up taking 5 hours, when I returned to pick up my vehicle I noticed there was a lug nut missing, I asked why that was and why it wasnt noted in the remarks by the technician, he said Im sorry but it should have been in there. I asked if he could get me a lug nut ordered and he said no we dont do that. Call discount tire and ask them, if they have the part call me back and Ill see if I can help you. I called Don back as he told me to. He then told me he wasnt going to help me get the lug nut his technician lost. So I said youre not going to help me? And Don said I already gave you a discount. What else do you want me to do? I said help me get the lug nut your technician lost. He said no, he said he stands by his technician and said it was my fault. Dont expect Don to help you, he wont. Im never taking my Yukon here again and hope nobody else does either after reading my experience. This is my first review ever as I never like to dog a company, but this one deserves all the bad accolades they have. I should have read these other one star reviews and seen that Don is not there to help you. He actually told me that the discount he gave me was coming out of his paycheck. What a jokerUpdate to Dons response:There is not another side. I asked you for help getting a new lug nut that your technician misplaced and you said you wouldnt help. I spent all day figuring out how the manufacturer can only sell to distributors and not private buyers(which Berthod is a distributor and Don could have called the manufacturer and ordered a 3 dollar lug nut from)I finally got big o to order one for me. Shout out to them for the help I was looking for, if only Don would have a heart to help people out, but nope i realized he doesnt have one

Whatever you do, do not buy a vehicle from this place! You will be blindly taken advantage of mislead and and disrespected. No deals will be made as it’s too close to Aspen. I never ever write reviews but they are the worst dealership in the state. If you buy a car months later you’ll be hit with 2,000 dollar bills and if your car wants service try calling them right now for fun and see when the next time they can see your car as it’s months out. Randy the sales agent will lie directly to your face and pretend he’s your buddy knowingly taking advantage of you. Do not buy a vehicle from this dealer go to a big dealer in Denver, Randy the sales agent will completely scam you and lie to get the sale no matter how big the lie. The financing director is a crook. Do yourself a huge favor and drive to Denver or Junction where they sell lots of cars and don’t need to take advantage of people.I promise if you buy a car from them you’ll be writing the next horrible review. Expect lots of hidden fees to come even months after the sale. Bottom line Berthod motors can not be trusted. Purchased a used 2014 Cherokee (not from Berthod) in May and in the end of June the transmission light would randomly come on, the car would drive rough, and then the light would be off a day later and driving fine. One morning I couldnt reverse so I got it towed to Berthod to get it checked out. After a day or two of sitting there, they called to let me know there was no light on and the car was running fine. They checked the codes and all seemed good and well so I should come pick the car up. I thought that was strange because I literally couldnt reverse two days before, but picked it up and drove it home.Of course, a week or two later the transmission light began doing the same thing, on randomly and driving poorly, then off and driving fine. I called Berthod again and they were a month out for appointments, but mentioned it might be the transmission fluid (not covered under warranty) and suggested I take it to a local shop to get it checked out. I did, and it turned out that the transmission hydraulic sensor was malfunctioning (is covered under warranty) and needed to be replaced, among other things that needing replacing.Berthod was still a month out for appointments, but since I couldnt reliably drive my car and already had instructions from the local repair shop on exactly what needed to be replaced, they said I could come drop it off and theyd take a look at it as soon as possible. Dropped it off on Monday after hours. Tuesday went by... Wednesday went by.... Thursday went by and I finally called to see if theyd even looked at the car. They hadnt, but were going to get it checked out on Friday. I called on Friday and the transmission guy had called in sick and theyd get to it Monday. Called Monday afternoon and it wasnt ready but said that it would be soon and theyd call me tomorrow (they didnt).I called them Tuesday, it wasnt ready, but I finally got an update- theyd ordered new parts and were waiting on them to arrive. They were supposed to arrive that day (or so they said) and then it would be a day of work on the car. Its now Thursday and the parts havent even arrived. They are apparently at some warehouse and even though they have a tracking number, for some reason cannot give me an estimate of when theyll arrive.And the worst part? Ive gone OVER A WEEK WITH NO CAR. They apparently dont have loaner cars and since I didnt purchase my car from them specifically, wony pay for a rental for my inconvenience of being without a car for over a week. The car is under warranty and they act like its an inconvenience to repair it. Likewise, they give me zero information upfront. It has taken me calling them daily to get updates and even then its always just maybe tomorrow. Honestly, if the day theyd looked at it, theyd called to inform me that they had ordered parts which would arrive in a week and as soon as the parts got in they would repair the car, I wouldnt be so angry. But alas, it is too much work to call and inform their customers of the status of their car and give an upfront date of when it might be repaired.Look, I understand its the only Jeep dealership in the valley so theyre busy, BUT just a little customer service would be nice.

No matter what I call for, it is always 3 weeks out to get an appointment and the staff never makes any effort to even try and accommodate (not even fake it). To make matters worse, they usually dont get it fixed in one day and if they do its not done correctly. One time I got home and my service light came on just a few hours after picking up the vehicle. I opened the hood and found the mechanics tools resting on my engine. I will guarantee a mechanic worth his weight knows exactly where his tools are (thats how he makes his living). If a mechanic forgets his tools on my engine block, what else did he forget.....to put the oil plug back in? You want an oil change? Schedule 2 weeks out and plan to spend 3-4 hours in their waiting room while the oil change is completed. Anyhow, I hate to bash these guys so hard, but in 13 years of doing business with them, nothing has changed. I guess GMC & Deere sell themselves.

Recently purchased a 2015 Jeep Patriot new from Autonation in Golden, but live in the Aspen area so Berthod Motors is the closest for service. After driving the car off the lot, I discovered the drivers window on my BRAND NEW vehicle did not work. I called Berthod to get it in ASAP, they told me We have a lot of tow ins and they take priority. So I would have to wait a month and a half to get my vehicle in. Waited a months and they still could not get me in. I had to call and talk to both the General Managers at both stores (where I purchased my Jeep and Berthod). They were very unfriendly and acted as if they were doing me a favor. I purchased a car with a warranty that can be taken care of at any dealer. That is what I was sold and why I purchased a new car. Luckily my window now works after a lot of hassle but with the Jeep only having 3k miles on it I have a HUGE loud squeak and wobble coming from the rear brakes, and it is very difficult to get in reverse. After making 4 phone calls, being told it would take another month or more to get me in, then driving 45 min to the dealer, where they were suppose to have a loner car ready for me. The first thing they do is tell me they have no technician to look at the car AND there is NO loner for me. (I called right before driving down and was told the car was there and ready) Proceeded to test drive my car and say there is nothing wrong with it. That simply is not true, and further more a non tech test drove it, AND never looked at it. What does he know about fixing it. I feel I have been sold something that no one will stand behind. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALER IN ANY WAY. So in the end, I have done three 45 min drives to the dealer for them to make appointments with me, then say they can not help once I am there. Customer service? I think not.

I was charged $132 for a tail light failure diagnostic on a 2017 yukon xl. The diagnostic didnt even find the problem. First time Ive ever been charged for not doing a job!Update: after my initial frustration at this repair not being solved. Don and his team in the GMC service department went above and beyond to rectify the situation! They spent countless hours on the phone with GM and pulling apart the wiring harness to find a likely factory fault, they also made the point to GM that I should not be on the hook for this repair. And had the $800 plus charge comped. I truly appreciate the effort that they went to! I highly recommend their service!

Worse customer service by any dealership i have ever been to. They are unwilling to help. i called to make an appointment for my dodge avenger and they were about a month out and i explained to him what the car was doing and he said he had no idea what i was talking about but a tech would call me after calling 5 days in a row to speak with a tech. he told me he cant help me without seeing the car and has never heard of a car losing power( which i heard is pretty common). bad customer service all around.
