Scheduled an appointment a week in advance. Was told that my issue was under warranty. Arrived at 8am to drop my truck off. Once I dropped the vehicle off I was told it wasn’t under warranty. Then my vehicle sat there all day and was never looked at. No diagnosis no answers no nothing. No respect for my time at all.

Our RV was stuck on a rural road, hot day, in rural Frederick. We were on vacation with our family, 1,000 miles from home, and it was a Saturday. The service department readily took our vehicle. The mechanics/technicians were fantastic; detailed attention to safety, including test driving before returning it to us. Great care and expert professionalism. Highly recommended!

I have bought many cars and trucks over the years, but I have never had a better Experience doing so in my life. I have never laughed so much or had so much fun spending money in my life. My salesman, Rick Moffett, was awesome. He really knows cars and trucks and is willing to share his knowledge. After buying my Ram 1500, he was able to get me set up with an appointment with Line-X to have a spray on bed liner applied, and gave me a contact to have the undercarriage properly cleaned and treated. Rick is the type of man who stands behind what he says and the contacts he recommends. Paul in finance made the whole application process easy and enjoyable. And in the end he got us a deal from the bank.You can not go wrong buying a car or truck from Tate.

Not a Dealer review but a person review. Mark Kalisz is more than just a shirt with a logo trying to make a buck. I went to sell my vehicle and he put down his lunch to assist me when I could have waited. Although he could not offer what I wanted he still tried to help me by recommending other places where I could get a better offer. He valued my time and I appreciate that.

Had such a great experience buying from Tates! Yesterday I traded in my car for a used Jeep and I couldnt be happier with the purchase. So why would a buyer in Michigan choose to purchase from a Maryland dealer?? The first part is easy . . . they happened to be one of very few dealers across the country who had the vehicle that met what I was looking for, at a reasonable price, and ready to give me top-dollar for my trade. Love the car but not this place. They said they would get me a second key since they couldnt find one. 3 months later, not ordered yet. Went for an oil change and they didnt have the right type of oil. Id spoken to them the evening before so they knew I was coming and what car I had.Was told they transferred everything to my insurance company and they didnt. Other examples of the same wrong info or poor management.

Awesome dealership. Best experience I’ve had with one honestly. I was looking to trade in my 2016 challenger RT and was checking countless dealerships for several months for the perfect car to switch too. I ended up finding a 2017 392 T/A; and for a great price. I inquired further because I live pretty far and wanted to make sure, it wasn’t going to be a waste of time. Sure enough, they made it happen! And went out of their way to do so. Gave me all the info I needed before driving up and continued to as the process went on. Great sales guy named Duke and Paul was the amazing financial manager. Great guys. Talk to those guys if you need a car. Period.

Rick took care of me, didn’t give me any run around and was straight forward with me. All in all the whole process took about 5 hours from start to finish. The man who did my loan payment was great as well, got me under the rate I expected to get and never tried to up sell me on dumb stuff after mentioning I was not interested when I walked into the room. Bought my 2019 ram 1500 big horn 2/15/2021 and would go back for my next or recommend working with them on the used side. Thank you again to Rick and the rest of the team

Hostile, Rude, Worst customer service ever in my life. Including the manager. Cannot figure out why they are so angry, every time, like employees at a cheap hotel. SURPRISE BILLING! They will not call you to make sure you are aware of what all will be done and that youre good with the price. And the manager will argue you down even though they are wrong. No one there is on the customers side.Not to mention an employee blocked the only exit leisurely talking to a guy and would not move when I pulled up (this was the only exit out of there and an EMPLOYEE was blocking it). Go to the Leesburg location, this place will only bring you troubles.

Bought my very first Jeep (pre-owned) at Tate. Had a lot of problems initially. However, once I identified those to the Management, they went out of their way to take care of everything! They really made me feel special, and enjoyed seeing me happy. I highly recommend this place for a new or used vehicle! Definitely going back there for my next car. By the way, Im the envy of all my friends in my Lifted, Jeep Wrangled Sahara! I love it.

My daughter was treated disrestfully by Creston Tate, regarding her safety, while trying to purchase another new vehicle from them today. Customer loyalty means absolutely nothing there. Well find another dealership that likes loyal customers, speaks respectfully to their customers and enjoys selling multiple new vehicles per year to our family.

Bought a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica from Tate 4 months ago. Overall very happy with the vehicle. Low mileage and like new. My salesmen was very pleasant to work with. I believe his name was Ted or Brian (cant remember). I was able to text him with and questions or concerns I had about the vehicle before the purchase. He was honest and upfront about everything. Never pressured!! When we first met the finance manager he had a attitude. We wanted to leave the $5k down to hold the vehicle and bring the $20k check the next day. He told us to just keep it. No need to have a attitude. He was pleasant when we came back with the $25k to purchase the vehicle. Go figure.When we finalized everything we noticed the vehicle was very dirty in the interior. Stains, spills, marks etc. Needed a full cleaning. Sadly it was on the lot in this condition. But we asked if it would be cleaned prior to us picking it up. We were told yes it would be completely cleaned. My husband went to pick it up and it was still dirty. They wiped the windows and vacuumed. Sprayed one spot on the very back seat with shiner. Which Im unable to remove. My husband asked why it was not cleaned properly. They told us we have good cleaners, and some bad cleaners Guess we got the bad cleaner. This left a bad taste in my mouth about Tate. What dealership sells a dirty vehicle? Or even let it sit on the lot dirty with a price tag on it! Cleaning a vehicle is one of the easiest things to do to sell a vehicle. I have cleaned the vehicle myself as it was gross and was not driving it in that condition. Used or New, vehicle should be CLEAN!

My 2013 Dodge Avenger SXT needed a repair after the check engine light appeared and Tate found the source of the problem quickly. My car was repaired and tuned-up in the same day, I am very happy with the results. Tate replaced my front brakes & rotors, thermostat, spark plugs and changed my antifreeze fluid and brake fluid. My car has 143,482 miles on it and Tate was able to make it feel like new again! I am very satisfied! Thank you Tate for your great repair and tune-up!

Parts department do not know anything about their vehicles. JK Rubicon models do not have limited slip differentials. They have open differentials. Tried selling me additives that I didnt need and proceeded to argue with me about what my vehicle needed. Left because I do no buy from rude and very clueless people. Truly an amazing dealership amd I strongly recommend a visit if you need a new or ceetfied preowned vehicle. I purchased as used vehicle. The saleman, Duke, was amazing, he was kind and people friendly. No pressure, just a very pleasant person. Mark, the gentleman who assessed my trade in was thooughtful, explained how he valued my car, just was super nice, amd gave me the price I expected. The final person I visited was Paul, the business manager. He is incredibly talented. He worked efficiently but carried on great conversation. Horrible service. Brought my car there last year and radiator was replaced under warranty. While there i was told these cars have a problem with radiators cracking. 7 months later I start to smell coolant and got oil change there and tech told me radiator is leaking. I make an appointment with service take my car and they tell me there’s no leak. Radiator won’t hold pressure so the only thing they can say is “it may be the seal inside radiator cap”. They recommended a $500 job to replace reservoir and cap which I did myself a few days later and still could smell the coolant. I took my car to another dodge dealership and they tell me the exact thing I told the dodge dealership when I brought it “the radiator has a crack in it and these cars have problems with the radiators cracking for some reason”. I call up Joe the advisor and he’s telling me they pressure tested my car and found no leak but the radiator wouldn’t hold the correct pressure. Which means there would be a leak somewhere, correct? So I spend the money to do the reservoir and cap all just to find out the radiator has another crack in it like I thought from the beginning. I then spoke with the manager who tells me “you’re car is still under warranty just go get it replaced again” which is not the point. The point is I paid 130$ because I used a coupon for a “diagnostic” that wasn’t even correct. When I tell the manager and the advisor about the 2nd opinion from another dodge dealership they are telling me the radiator probably cracked when I left there.. lol which is really weird because you could see and smell coolant before it was brought there. Horrible service overall. will never use this dealership for any kind of work again

Recently bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude from Tate (around a week and a half ago) and had such a great experience. The sales Person named Duke a nicest person and was too courteous and polite with all details for the Car we purchased. The customer service was excellent. Further will know much about the Car after 6 months or so. Purchased a Mopar vehicle protection plan for 3 years will see and after an year as per the conversation by Tate official can cancel after a year or so if not required and can get a prorated amount refund for balance 2 years. Took my fleet vehicle for service in March. When I left I noticed my gas mileage was horrible but didnt think too much of it. Thought maybe the car was just getting old. When I recently took it to get another oil change they noticed I had a cabin filter where the air filter was. No wonder my gas mileage was awful... Now its doing what it should be. Save your time and go elsewhere... Apparently Charger 392s are very rare (theyre not) and cannot be test driven. Its a $40k Charger, not a Ferrari. I went to another Dodge Dealership and drove a Charger 392 without any issues. The time for these old-school salesmen tactics is long gone. Ive test driven eight vehicles from eight different dealerships over the last few months to cross-shop. This is the first time that Ive had this sort of negative experience with a Sale Manager.With that being said, the actual Sales Rep, Eddy, was actually really helpful and wanted me to test drive. There seems to be an issue with the management.

Patrick who works for the used cars department at Tate is nothing short of amazing. Our grandparents were in need of a vehicle as their van was having constant issues. We went in and we worked with Patrick. It was important that they had a low interest rate, a back up cam, a warranty and the vehicle would be easy for them to get in and out of as they’re in their 80’s. We were worried they were going to get taken advantage of or get a bad deal due to their age and Patrick did just the opposite . He was so incredibly kind to them. He spent several hours working with them to make sure they got a great deal, great interest rate and they were happy with the vehicle. He truly went above and beyond any salesmen I’ve ever met. He made sure their every need was met and took the absolute best care of them! Our grandparents are so happy, and we are as well. Patrick went above and beyond for our grandparents and I wish I could put into words how thankful we are for him and that he was their salesmen . I cant believe Im going to say this, but not only did I not hate buying my used Jeep from Tate, I actually had a pleasant time. Hit it on a busy night so I was there for a while, but sales rep Benjamin Crossen saw me right away, took me for two test drives, and answered all my questions. Finance manager was a great guy too. I got a fair deal and not ONCE did anyone ask me where my husband was, which is not something I can say about a lot of places, shame on them. 10/10 would recommend.

Jason was extremely unprofessional. I made a verbal agreement to buy a car from Tate and it needed a few repairs (new side reflector and a ball joint in the engine). Jason said it would take about a week. So, I called him a week later to ask about the car and he said it was still in the shop. The next day, I receive an email from him stating his manager had sold the car to someone else. The lack of communication within Tate astounds me and the lack of character on Jasons and his managers part left me without a car and cost me a week of searching for other cars. If you want to deal with an honest business, please do not consider Tate or Jason.

I was very surprised that they got it done quickly.Also one the salesperson was very honest with me by offering me to keep my current vehicle as I was looking to upgrade. Had the worst experience I have ever had with a shop. Brought my truck in for a recall, I noticed I had a small transmission pan leak. I asked them to check it out, they did at which point they recommended changing the pan gasket and the transmission filters while we were at it. When they gave the truck back it was not shifting correctly. I brought the truck back, they took a look at it and recommended a possible valve body replacement. I declined explaining that the truck shifted completely fine when it came in. They went back and checked there work. I then received a call telling me I need a new transmission. My truck went in for a 300 dollar fix and came out needing a new trans. They immediately stated they would not help with any fix or cover any cost. When I spoke to the manager he was completely unsympathetic and offered no solutions, nor did he try and work with me at all. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE THERE TO BE SERVICED. Over priced and apparently they like to make your vehicle worse not better.

Tate has been good in the past, but the service has gone down. Vehicle has been in for recalls multiple times but is never fixed correctly and has to be taken back. First recall was for gas tank replacement and then gas would spill out constantly when filling up, then airbag module was replaced and now airbag light is constantly on. I spoke to their service manager who insist I pay a diagnostic fee for something that had no issue prior to their technicians repairing. Do yourself a favor and find a hones repair shop as this location is now only looking to make a quick buck.

Very happy with my choice, love my new, used vehicle! Duke Kentner, Sales Rep. was very nice and very patient with me. Using a face mask was very challenge for me when attempted to communicating (Deaf) but we found another method of communication by writing back and forth on a paper pad. Everything went really well. However I did not have the same experience with Paul Mahoney in Finance Department. He was impatient with me (because Im Deaf) and had a short fuse a few times. He even yelled at one of his Sales Reps in front of me and other customers. I couldnt walk through the paper works with him, I was afraid that he would give another short fuse. More importantly, Im happy with my vehicle now. Thank you Duke and Tate Frederick!

This dealership performed a state vehicle inspection on my truck after we moved to the area. The inspection passed save for window tint, which they offered to remove for the low low price of $165 (more than I paid to have it installed in the first place). I declined and they said that was fine, and to just bring it back when the tint was removed. I bring it back and they tell my wife its been too long and they need to perform the inspection again, and I need to pay them to reinspect a truck they looked at just weeks ago.They are only concerned with overcharging folks, and apparently dont care about customer satisfaction in the least. I was emailed at least three times about taking a customer satisfaction survey, and it seems suspect that just as soon as I decline the opportunity to be double charged the survey link expires. Could be coincidence, but seems suspect enough when considering the rest of the service I received.Coming from a dealership background, these guys had the opportunity to create a good new customer relationship, and chose to squander it seeking a few extra dollars and hiding behind policy. Very disappointing, and I will go out of my way to take my FCA business to either Century, Criswell, or Dulles.

Do yourself a solid and stay away from this place at almost all costs. They routinely have cheaper labor than competitors, but you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!Takes 2-3 hours for most oil changes and tire rotation services.Took 2 trips to find a leak in tire that I bought last year and because theyre running a promotion on tires (buy 3 get 1 for a dollar, which they mark up the price of a $200 tire to $260 so youre not getting cheaper tires, just cheaper labor) they wont honor the 2 year road hazard warranty with the deal. I have to buy 4 new tires because I have an AWD vehicle and anyone who walks in off the street will pay the same exact price I have to even though I have a warranty and they do not. A warranty protects the buyer, but not when it comes to Tate, depending on how much they stand to lose, they wont honor all of their warranted products.They quoted me at $1,012 to replace the four tires (with different ones) that have 28k miles on them since last year which I paid right around $900 for.Despite having a universal key they will use your wheel lock key and not return it each time so if you get a flat, youll need a tow because you wont get the tire off. They recommended my 4x4 fluid to be replaced so I took it to a dealer 75 minutes away from home (Tate is 15 minutes away) and had them do the service for 60% of Tates price and the dealer asked if I still wanted to do it after they said it doesnt appear to be needed at my mileage... I still had them do it since they ordered the fluid and when I went back to Tate to redeem 1 of 3 free oil changes/tire rotations they gave me based on a previous screw up they had, I was told again to replace the fluids... I told them I had it done the month prior and the response was Well, it gets dirty quick so you might want to think about it. That was a $336 service thats only recommended about every 30-60k miles depending on how harshly you run your vehicle... they recommended it after 500 miles from previous change.My tires were the last thing I had to deal with Tate for. I already switched every other service away from from them and am gladly paying 15% more to other folks to have service done right the first time and handled professionally. I recommend you do the same!

My husband was in desperate need of a new car. He originally found one he wanted to test drive online at Tates. Duke was a fantastic sales person! He was extremely knowledgeable about all of the vehicles we test drove, showed us all the features and cool tricks the cars did from the trunk to the dash. He was very patient while we decided what we wanted to test drive next, he even went on a long search looking for keys to a specific vehicle. He also gave us time to discuss what our plan was going to be. He was not pushy and did not make us feel like we needed to buy a car from him. After we purchased our new Jeep he even showed us all of the features in the infotainment system. If you go to Tates definitely ask for Duke because I know I would go to him again!

I just bought a 2016 Dodge Ram from Tate. I was helped by so many people. Tate really believes it takes a village to sell a car. I really felt like I was the only person on the lot!
