This place will not honor your appointment. I had a 10am appointment so I left my vehicle overnight. They didnt look at it at all. I called at 3pm for an update and they told me they havent looked at it. I gave them more time as I was still at work. When I called them at 5pm they still didnt do anything with it. I dont like anyone messing with my time. I will never go back here and I dont recommend them. I would have left them with no star but I had to add one to post.

Kevin has been great every time I’ve spoken to him and gone. This time though, not only was his Assistant manager, Matt, rude and dismissive, he also denied stealing money from my car. Once a report was filed, as they stole from a company car and my job required it, he laughed and claimed “I don’t care. I’m not worried.” Don’t go here. They’re liars and obviously thieves.

I am gearing up for a big move out of state and needed to get my car in tip-top shape before the big day. From day one Matt greeted us and told my dad and I everything we needed to know. He even gave us a bundle deal on everything we needed. Best of all, Matt was honest! Unlike other auto center personnel who normally would have tried to scam me for extra services, Matt told us exactly what we needed and exactly what we did not need and thoroughly explained his reasoning. Matt did a 100,000 mile maintenance, installed new breaks, and aligned the car, all in one day. He upheld constant communication and delivered great customer service. The car runs great. I really could not be happier. Thank you Matt and Monro!!

I felt my brakes were going a few years ago on my way to stop and shop in my Ford Escape.. at the light after division st they just went and I safely turned right into Monroe auto service. I’ve never been before. What r the odds my brakes fail right as im passing a mechanic 🤯Frantically I went in, they calmed me down and I was back on the road in no time. First time customer, we just bought a car at Carvana, so we went here to check it out even though it was something that wasnt covered. A shield under the car got half ripped off from parking in a snowbank. They took it off so it wouldnt drag on the ground. It was not a covered part on the warranty, but they did not charge us for it. Hard to find service like that. We will definitely be coming to them for all our service.

I have recently went to Monroe in Derby CT. I have to say not only was I pleased with the outstanding performance but the professionalism of everyone that took care of my car was outstanding. Edwin the manager of this business not only made it easier for me to understand he also educated me on showing me exactly what the issues were. I highly recommend this business. I used their online website to book an appointment for this morning. It gave me 10:00 as my schedule appointment time, but when I arrived at that time I was told the schedule was full and they couldnt get me in even though their website have me an appointment. They took no accountability for the incorrect information provided by their website. Dont use this location and dont trust their site because it is not accurate!! Taking my business somewhere else!!

I cannot prove or disprove the fact of the matter that the two separate cars I have brought to this shop something has gone wrong on the car within a week of bringing it there being caused by the shop, but it feels that way. I personally have paranoid delusions sometimes, but with that being said the first car I brought there a spark plug went within 3 days of oil change. This car the plugs are located right next to where you put the oil in, and they didn’t use a funnel probably because if oil gets in the spark plug it will go. The second car we guess they overfilled the engine because it caused the head gaskets to leak, which then when I brought it up to the shop they blamed the car and tried to get me to rebuild my engine on a car that was worth 750$. I understand needing business, but it wasn’t until the second car that I brought to this location that had something go wrong with it that I contacted the shop to figure out what’s going on. I just think maybe possibly the auto mechanics need to be a little bit more careful with how much oil they put in the engine and how they put it in, but that’s just me. My mom and brother are auto mechanics and are too busy to help me, mind you.

I have brought my vehicle to this shop several times because they gave me the best price within the area but my experience was less than subpar. Management did not seem to care and it showed through the employees and the lack of cleanliness within the waiting area and bay area. But on my most recent visit, I noticed new management that seemed to have turned that shop into a great place with friendly, courteous staff. The bay area looks like it got a fresh coat of paint and they did some much needed cleaning. When it came to my vehicle, they got it in and out right away and got it done right the first time, which I cant really say from repairs that I had done previously. I have referred several friends and family to them who shared the same pleasant experience that I received. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone that cares about their vehicle. To bad I cant give more than 5 stars.

Matt, Joe and the rest of the guys are a delight. I have been to them on a regular basis when needed and on an emergency case also and they have always welcomed me and help me out. I would definitely continue and visit here every month for regular service. They are quick and efficient and they do a wonderful job without putting on the pressure of doing anything additional without your say-so. They do make it a point to tell you what your car might need in the near future And I really appreciate that as well. Keep up the good work guys and thank you.

Matt the manager and his crew went above and beyond to ensure my vehicle’s safety. The guys at Monro always service our cars, but this time saved me from brake failure on the road. The price to replace my entire brake system was better than anyone in the Valley and they even installed the rear 2” lift. In the end, they helped me bypass a simple shifting issue and sent me on my way happy. Thank you for taking the time to help and being beyond reasonable and fair in price.

The manager Matt is the best! Always works with me, answers all my car related questions. Just a nice dude in general. The techs are great, never had any problems and they always get the job done right. If your car is there, that is there top priority! Best shop around in my opinion

I have been going to Monroe mufflers for only about a month I have been treated with the most respect from Kevin he has looked at my car taken care if the problems on my car given me a very decent price for the repairs and gotten the work done for me in a very decent amount of time he has gone above and beyond for me and my family for being a new customer I have never gotten that kind of treatment at any other garage before and not only will I tell people I know to come to this establishment to get there car fixed I will make sure that they go there and ask for Kevin its the first time I can say that I can trust a repair shop.

Never in my 30 years of driving had I ever had such a horrible experience with a service mechanic, let alone ANY service for that matter. I live in Florida & was in Derby, CT for a visit. Took my car there on a Monday morning at 8:30. Told them I needed it back by the end of the day because I was going out of town before heading back to Florida. By 9:30, man called and said pads & rotors were great. Just needed rear calipers that seized up - truck would be done within a couple of hours. 5 Hours later, I called for update. Not done yet. Another few hours later, calipers done but NOW it needed x, y, z...but they couldn’t finish it that day...oh and that’s going to be an extra $900 on top of everything else. Needless to say, I was upset but approved the extras. Now I had to rent a car, complete my travel, and come BACK to CT to pickup my truck. On Thursday, they called saying brake repair was all done, the extras were all done, but now AGAIN it needed more “electrical” stuff. Now I knew I was getting scammed and told them not to touch anything more - as long as the brake repair was done. Got back on Friday to head back home to Florida the next morning —- after FIVE DAYS that they’ve had the truck — & after paying them hundreds of dollars in repairs, they handed me the keys, looked me in the eye and told me the brakes were fixed. I got into my truck, tried to pull out of the parking lot AND ROLLED. MY TRUCK WAS NOT FIXED. When confronted with the truth that the truck was NOT fixed, they admitted that they didn’t know how to fix it. I demanded a refund, which I have yet to receive, and I will be contacting the corporate office as soon as possible. That they would watch me & my 3 children get into my truck to drive 1000 miles KNOWING the brakes were NOT fixed is disgusting and horrifying. Puts all GOOD mechanics to shame....And speaking of good mechanics, I took the truck to someone else in town who immediately told me that my problem had nothing to do with the brakes. It was the vacuum pump that was causing the brake pedal to freeze up and that he believed that Chevy had done a recall on some Suburbans. He told me to take it to a Chevy dealer so that it can be replaced FOR FREE. I called the Chevy dealer who confirmed, saying it was classic. These guys at Monro in Ansonia are either thieves or just completely incompetent. I say BOTH!

Made an appt for oil change & 32 point inspection. They gave me detailed report and recommended services all for under $35.00They didnt try to hard sell me on any of the recommendations... I am very pleased with the time and commitment given to my vehicle. I will go back not only for oil changes in the future but other automotive services as well.

Frustrated. Got charged an additional $25 for a tire rotation on my car after getting my wheels balanced. It literally takes the same amount of work with or without rotating the tires because you have to take them off and put them back on anyway in order to balance tires. It takes the same amount of labor. Othe places do that for free...

I brought my car in for rear brake pads and rotors. A leak in the brake line was discovered. The work was going to take several hours. I was given a ride home and picked up when the work was completed. The manager was most friendly and professional as was the mechanic I was most pleased with my experience with Monro in Derby.

Oil change was done quickly and we were in and out in no time at all. A terrific experience!

Asked for my Mazda 6 oil change about a month and half ago. It took about 3 hrs of wait time until the job was done. First week it was ok, but then start hearing some noises form the engine compartment area. As of now, car drives, but very hard and much noisier than it was before. Ive never experienced something like that w/ my car in the past and wonder what kind of stuff was used for the oil change. Will have to put a new oil again, if it helps, but I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Monro has been my car garage for 10 years. No longer. New manager has already cheated me on simple repair once, charging $260 for a simple part that costs $50 and after I brought car back for oil change, which should take 30-60 minutes, just left it sitting in the parking lot for more then an hour and did not even bother to give a courtesy call to mention that there is a delay. Take your business elsewhere - this is the only way they learn to respect customers.

One of my tires was reaching thread bare, so I dropped in right before closing to replace the tire. They offered to stay later to do the work, so I cant knock them down too low; however, once I hit the freeway, my car started shaking violently. After a quick check I noticed that the lugnuts were only hand-tight. So a mixed review - excellent service, but yall really need to have a system in place to double check your work.

My Son Matt DuHaime, is the Manager.of the shop. He is hard working, honest, trustworthy and an excellent mechanic. He makes sure the shop and his mechanics do an outstanding job on every vehicle that comes into there for service

The staff do not do relatively common sense things (e.g. making sure they put screws back on), so honestly coming here for basic maintenance is more of a hassle than its worth. Ive had increasingly worse experiences that have inconvieniently required me to do basic things to fix their mistakes - buy washer fluid when theyve charged me for allegedly refilling it, buy tire valve caps because they didnt put them back on (and I had to put air in the tires because it leaked out due to them not replacing the caps), and return to have the skid plate properly put back in place, which they didnt do correctly the second time either, so I went elsewhere where it was fixed quickly and correctly. Additionally, on at least two occasions when I have made oil change appointments, they took me close to half an hour late, and took significantly longer for jobs than they told me it would take to the point where Ive wound up waiting at the shop for a couple of hours longer than anticipated.

They’ve always been accommodating of me and my fiancé. The mechanics have great attitudes and we especially appreciate Sean and his pleasant demeanor. Being new to the Ansonia/Derby area, it was nice to find a shop nearby whose employees care about their customers.

The people are very nice and the one time they told me I needed some additional work done I declined to have them do it and brought it to my regular mechanic who I trust and they told me yes the problem Monro told me about was valid and the cost to fix it ended up costing very close to what Monroe quoted me.

This place is terrible. The workers there were all extremely rude and did not offer me any help when I first arrived. I came in for an oil change, less than a month later my check engine light came on signaling I needed another oil change. They gave me a quote for 536$ for my front breaks which is outrageous. They assumed since I am a woman I would not know anything about cars. They added mileage to my car, when I came in my car had 136,000 miles when I drove off my mileage read 230k. They put my next service date for the very next day on the sticker on my front windshield. The workers were playing music that contained very vulgar language. All around it was a terrible experience. These guys are crooks. Not to mention my overflow box is leaking anti freeze and my car is constantly overheating, a problem I did not have until I went to this place. Come to find out my hose on my overflow box had been tampered with. This has been by far my worst experience.

I made an online apointment .. when I showed up they told me the wheel balancer was broken and apologized for not calling. The manager didn’t know what tires I had ordered or what I was going to service. Had to show him my order on my phone. Well that was Monday and today it’s thursday .. still waiting for a call.. that’s awful customer service !! Going to town fair to get my tires. Monroe muffler definitely will not be visited by me EVER again!!

I went in for an oil change, about 8 am on a Friday. I was told it would take about 45 minutes, but I was out within half an hour. The manager and the mechanic who did the work (oil change + tire rotation + brake check) were both extremely friendly.

I had a total brake inspection. They told me rear brakes were fine. I needed front brakes. The day after having front brakes were done the brake pad cracked while driving on highway. Very dangerous! Three months later brake light comes on and they tell me rear rotors are rusted and I need rear pads. How can rotors rust in 3 months?? Also they replaced serpintine belt. Next day belt started squealing. Turns out they put wrong belt on. They adjusted it but wouldnt change it to correct belt. Later I was told by another mechanic that the belt tensioner is cracked in half and they should have replaced it when they changed belt. And last but not least my power steering pump went . They fixed it but car has been making a whirring sound since. They said it was AC compressor. Another mechanic said thats not it. Its power steering pump. They should have flushed it after installing ps pump. So disappointing since I know nothing about cars and trusted them. Never againCalled Matt this morning bc I have a power steering leak. He replaced the power steering pump a year and a half ago. Took him 2 power steering pumps to get it right(thats typical for him) when I called this morning to tell him about the leak he was rude and condescending(thats typical of him) and told me because I DIDNT WRITE A NICE REVIEW OF HIM HE COULDNT HELP ME.

Scam artists. Brought my car in because it had coolant leaking, tried telling me it would run around $600 to fix, told them nvm because it sounded outrageous, a friend put a leak stoppage fluid in it and hasnt leaked over a yr. Cost $5 btw lol

Went in to get a new tire put into my rims...aired almost 3 hours in the parking lot and had to watch many people who came after get their work done most of the customers seemed to be good friends with the employees as well.....poor management skills on a simple 15-20 min job
