I purchased a new to me vehicle, he checked it out, told me everything I needed to have done and the company I purchased from and him collaborated to make my vehicle a great reliable one! Tony is amazing to work with. I have been a customer for over 15 years and have never had a problem. Tony and his staff work for me to keep my 2001 vehicle on the road and safe. I have never fail an emissions test. Still going strong at 189,000 miles (yes, 189,000).

I called Tony and Auto Authority on a recommendation for a problem with an older BMW. Tony was easy to talk to treated me very professionally and kindly explained options. I was concerned about costs because a previous shop where I had the car quoted a really high repair cost. I did my research, and they had an absolutely fair price for the work I needed. The repairs were completed on the timeline Tony laid out at the start and they also completed additional items I requested timely. Ive had no issues so far, and Tony even called a week later to ensure all was good with the car. I plan to continue going to them for all my needs.

Tony and his team are excellent!! Tony truly has a passion for his work! His work ethic and genuine concern for your vehicle and your safety is unmatched. Love their digital inspection report as well. It includes pictures and description of area of concern; along with upcoming needs or maintenance suggestions. I have been taking my 2005 Tahoe to him for years and will continue to do so.

We took a used car to Auto Authority that we recently purchased knowing it need some care. We wanted to be mindful of how much we were spending on the car. The staff looked at the issues we brought the car to them for and also gave the entire car the once. They reported back on the primary issues of concern that we brought car to them for with pricing for those repairs. They also gave us a list of other maintenance that we should consider soon and additional things that we would will want to consider down the road. The repairs we chose to do were completed on time and as quoted. Auto Authority is a very professional state of the art auto repair facility that we will bring our other vehicles too in the future.

For almost 50 years, Ive doubted most recommendations Ive gotten from mechanics. I felt like they were just out to pad their bill, not fix my car correctly! That will never happen again, now that I have found Auto Authority!Tony at Auto Authority explains EVERYTHING with amazing detail, not only about what is wrong, but why it is significant! Then, he and his staff do the job right. Every time. I needed tires and Tony explained how cheap tire shops have a goal of getting your tires installed as quickly and cheaply as possible. But by paying his crew an additional 0.1 hours of labor, I know the tires and rims are well cleaned and completely ready for the tire installation. Small price to pay to get it done right.I also took my sons car to Auto Authority shortly after we bought it in 2020. Its a 2006 Acura. After looking at it, Tony called and spent 40 minutes telling me what he found and the significance of each repair. I want this car to last until my son graduates college, and with it under the watchful eye of Tony and Auto Authority, I have no doubt we will get there!Tony will fix the car according to your needs and wants. If you have a car that you want to nurse for a few thousand miles until you are ready to trade it in, for example, I bet Tony can make that happen, too!I know you can find less expensive shops for automotive work. I used to go to them, too! But you get what you pay for! Auto Authority is simply the best! Go see Tony. You will not be disappointed!

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS SHOP / TONY will rip you off. I cant even begin to describe the level of poor customer service my family has received from Tony the owner of Auto Authority. I sent over 8 e-mails asking what the status of car and he did not respond back at all, not even once. And then when I did go pick up my car, he tried to do a bunch of repairs that he DID NOT even talk to me about first, or even offer a QUOTE for me to review or give him an Approval before starting any work. They he replaced my radiator that cost me $900.00 over the summer and just a few months later he tried to charge me another $230.10 for a radiator flush and fill. And when I called him out on it, to remind him he just replaced the whole system over the summer, why would I need another full flush and fill, he stumbled on his words and lied thru his teeth how all of the sudden he said the PH was maybe not correct and he needed to bill me another $230.10. YOU GOT TO BE KDDING ME, he did not even ask me or provide me with a QUOTE as I would have told him to never do the service as the unit was brand NEW with NEW fluid. DO NOT TRUST Tony ~ I WOULD NOT SEND ANY FRIENDS NOR FAMILY TO THIS SHADY SHOP EVER. The worst car shop I have ever worked with. Even Allstate Insurance Company sent me an official Letter asking Tony to let them take the car out of his shop because the lack of service he showed to them and myself. And to top it off he sat on the job for months, THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE...

There are no words good enough to describe Tony and Auto Authority. They are so honest and caring. Safety first is their motto. We have had cars since 1972 and have never had a mechanic that care so much.

I took my car to a local dealer. They had no idea what was wrong with it and needed to take it to Rockford to plug it into the Mercedes computer for $175 to find out what it needed. One trip to Auto Authority and I knew everything that was wrong quickly. Very simple to drop off, thorough estimate and fantastic communication. I will return within the next 5,000 for new brakes. Top notch, locally owned auto shop in the NW suburbs. Have taken my cars there for the last few years with a multitude of normal wear and tear issues. From normal oil service to differentials and motor mounts, always the same great service. Very knowledgeable staff and fair pricing. Highly recommended.

Really nice people at this shop. Tony gave me helpful information about changing transmission fluid and why manufacturers dont put it in the maintenance schedule. Deducted a star because they still charged me for resetting tire pressure sensors even though it didnt work. The wheels were from a Mazda previously and had incompatible sensors with Kia apparently. Not their fault but wouldve been more fair to not charge full price for something that wasnt able to be fixed. I did tell them the wheels were from a Mazda beforehand.

I recently call this shop for a transfer case swap. The job was well done. But messed up my transmission by not filling up with right amount of fluid. Now I have gear shifting issues and he is even asking money for checking fluid levels in the car.If you have to get a simple job done go to this shop. If it is related to other sensitive system please avoid.

We have been taking several of our vehicles to Auto Authority over the past 6 years. Tony, the owner, is very good to work with. He always explains exactly what needs to be done immediately versus what should be done and outlines the associated costs. I will say that he is not the cheapest, but provides good honest service that you can trust. He stands behind the work they do and if there are ever any issues they always take care of it. This level of service makes it worth the added cost. I highly recommend Auto Authority.

I have had the my mini van in for both repairs and maintenance at Auto Authority. The service and quality of work performed is timely and top notch. Honest and efficient, he will educate you on problems you may want to be aware of with your vehicle without up-selling or pressuring you into anything. Ive used Tony now for several years. Very honest, gives your car a complete review and then goes over every little step with you on what is going on and is honest about if it needs to be worked on right away or not. I first had him replace a radiator on my CRV. The cost of this one job was very much in my favor. Another example - my distributor on my car was getting old and malfunctioning a little. He informed me not to buy a new one as he could probably find a used one that is fine for much cheaper. Turned out, he found me one almost like new and saved me tons of money. No problems with it the past 2/3 years since.Since then, Ive had him work on a few of my cars and as always - very honest, trustworthy, and complete. I would highly recommend Tony and his staff to anyone. Give them a chance and you will not be disappointed.

I have used Auto Authority for the past several years for both of our foreign cars (Honda and Mercedes.) The service is great and there are NO suprises. Tony and educates and informs you about the problem prior to doing the work. I have always found his rates (I do call around and check) to be very competitive.
