Komoda is my favorite shop in all of Chicago and I’ve been living here for going on a decade! Every time I go in I have a hard time leaving. Sherri’s always rotating in new exciting items and she really puts her heart into selecting such unique and special pieces. She cares so much about supporting local makers/artists and believe me when I say if you’re a jewelry addict like me, you won’t ever have to look any further. Linda is also one of my favorite people to see there! She is just so darling and helpful. Both her and Sherri are simply the greatest and if I ever leave the neighborhood I would probably miss Komoda the most. If you haven’t gone yet, you must!!!

Such a fantastic shop. Every time I come in, I always seem to stumble upon something new and unique that will appeal to a specific family member, friend, or work colleague. You can tell that the assortment of items, whether it be books, jewelry, lotions, or socks, are all carefully and thoughtfully curated.

Absolutely delightful gift store with something for everyone--especially yourself! I was especially thrilled with their inexpensive selection of plants, but they also carry books, cards, jewelry, puzzles, ceramics, candles, and artisan beauty and shave products.Bonus: they wrapped our gift in neat paper with a pretty fabric bow at no extra charge ☺

A welcoming and cozy collection of everything rare to kitsch. The lovely owner is a down to Earth and always wearing a smile. I even found a purple plant for our place.

Sherri is wonderful! I needed to send a care package during this pandemic and she was so helpful in creating a customized package without requiring me to go to the store - she sent me pictures of different options of items to include, wrapped them all, and mailed it - and all for an affordable price too. Ive always loved this store, but appreciate it even more after her recent help!

Sherri has been buying and selling super cool stuff for decades in the East & Ukrainian Village area. She has always supported & featured local talented artists and makers. I’m a down-to-the-wire gift purchaser and I undoubtedly will find something I would be proud to give. Komoda makes me look like a thoughtful gifter and there’s always something to gift myself. Ah man, I love this place. And the owner is rad. I find it almost impossible to leave this shop without buying SOMETHING. It is a one stop for small to medium sized somewhat unique gifts.

Lovely shop, picked up a hand-poured in Chicago, soy candle along with a pretty box of matches for a friend’s housewarming. Was tempted by the gourmet chocolate bars at the register...Plenty of street parking around

Sherri is wonderful, I called for Polish, handmade house shoes . She bagged the like a gift (to me) and was up and waiting on me at 7:35 AM. Nobody does that. By the way she remembered me from 2 Christmases back !!!!

Very awesome store with many cute, unique items. The owner, Sherri, is an absolute gem. I found some great, handmade birthday cards, and found a great selection of incense. I bought some nag champa and Sherri gave me samples of her favorite -- an incense from Japan -- of which I am now a fan, too!

This is a dream store. Mega options. Called ahead and they had what I needed. PEACEFUL ATMOSPHERE! Great place to unwind and purchase nifty, useful items.

The staff here is incredible. Both ladies that are behind the counter have an intimate knowledge of their stock and give great gift suggestions. Komoda is a little hidden gem on West Chicago Ave. They carry books, cards, and trinkets, as well as a stellar stock of jewelry from local artisans and faraway lands. Every time I buy something from here (a gift to myself- oops!) I get endless compliments on it.

The ladies the run this place know their products. Locally crafted soaps, French hand lotions, knick knacks for all ages, and the jewelry! Oh the lovely affordable jewelry! This neighborhood needs a little shop like this. Certain things can be pricey. Such as incense, wine rings, homemade cards, and some books. Last time I went there, I got some mothers day gifts. Mom is still loving the soaps 👌
