Went for a hitch inspection. After getting the run around, Barry looks at it for 2 secs and replies “yep, it’s a 2in ball. You’re good.” Didn’t touch anything, did not test any lights or connections. The lady at the desk was nice though.

Best service I’ve ever had using U-Haul. I presented quite the challenge of wiring my Audi Q7 for pulling a trailer with electric brakes. Every single person was courteous and knew their business. They promptly ordered the unique parts for my application. The true stand out was Todd, the technician who did the actual work. He is a subject matter expert on wiring. Thank your whole team for the best service possible. I appreciated the military discount you provided. The dealer wanted $1100.00, you guys were half that amount. You have my humble respect.

We tried to drop off a one way truck rental at this location on Thursday. After one employee did a safety check of the truck, another employee came out and told him / us that we had to take the truck three miles east to the Valrico dealer on Hwy 60. After they got our truck out of their traffic jam and turned around, we had wasted far more time than we had planned for. If not for the great assistance we received at the Valrico location, this return would have gone very badly.

Made an appointment for a hitch install. Called days before appointment to confirm parts are in and receive no help from call center. They asked me to call main store, no one picks up. Contacted call center again and they said they will leave a message to have the install location to call me back. No call back and on the day of appointment, I arrive to be informed the part is still back ordered and not in stock. No email or call or any type of notification of this matter. Person at the desk has no idea how to help as she is also routed through call center too. Extremely frustrating for all party involved except corporate. Person at the desk is doing her best with an extremely broken system.

I ordered a hitch online from them and my install date was 2 weeks later. When I arrived on my appointment date they said the hitch was never shipped to them and it was hard to get or back ordered. I really needed it done and all they could do was try and locate it and have it shipped priority to them. I left with no hitch or future install date.

Went to fill my propane tank only to find out, after waiting for a guy to fill his 5tanks before me, that they dont have the necessary attachment to fill my 100lbstank. The guy there was supernice but as a company that fills propane, you cant invest the 20$ to buy the attachment so you dont have to turn away customers. In 3yrs with this tank, Ive never had that happen at any location Ive been.

I want to say a big Thank you to ms.crystal she did an amazing job helping my brother check his trailer in and deal with the paper work. You are truly the best. Coming from a uhaul employee I really appreciate it!!

Wow! The wait was horrible but Dylan saved the day. I ordered a lot boxes and supplies and Dylan cheerfully helped me load everything. Clearly the staff was overwhelmed today but Dylan did his very best to attend to everyone without showing his stress.

I ordered a 5X8 trailer on Satureday and the Lady got my credit card information and print me off the reservation sheet and said Av 9500 K is the trailer I am getting. Later that day I went to there and check the trailer, big enough for my need. Then the nautious part happened on Sunday, I received a call said there is no 5X8 trailer in bradon, I corrected him instantly, I saw that trailer yesterday. Then he said that trailer need stay in Brandon and can not go to BC. If i need a trailer I need drive to the next nearest location (Dophin 160 KM away from Brandon)to get it. He claimed it is not their fault because I just booked yesterday. I have to give you thumbs up, well played. Do I need that trailer? Yes. I will go to Dophin and see what happens next.

Moving is stressful, Desiree went above and beyond at the W. Brandon location. I made my reservation on the phone with the call center, it was not correct. Desiree fixed the reservation, tracked down the trucks and trailers I was promised and arranged an install/ came in early the next day so I could get a wiring harness installed and get on the road at the time I needed to. She did all of this while keeping a friendly and happy attitude. People like her make me want to stay loyal to a business and any employer would be lucky to have this woman on their team! Thank you Desiree for taking a heap of stress off my shoulders, a friendly attitude can mean the world to a person going through a stressful time. ❤️

Horrible customer service. I reserved my U-Haul online and it still took an hour to pick it up at this location. The employees were super slow and the line was backed up out the door. I’ve never seen anything like this at U-Haul before. To top it off they didn’t even provide me with the dolly and rolling cart that I rented. If I could go lower than one star I would. The employees were too busy checking their emails and playing with their phones and helping customers.

DO NOT HAVE A HITCH INSTALLED HERE. They put in a hitch and a cooler with they understand improperly. I have written proof, pictures, and the broken part and they completely blew me off for compensation. Their incompetence cost me hundreds of dollars.

Got a price over the phone for $280, went there and the paperwork said $363. Told them thats not what was discussed over the phone. Left to think it over, went back an 1hr later and they told me to sign, before i signed i flipped the paper over to find out they raised it another $30! No apology from these people, no care in the world. I told them i would write this review and go to BBB and their response was Go right ahead!

If I could them a zero, I would. I dont even know where to start. We reserved our truck way ahead of time online. Our pickup location was changed at the last minute and was all the way across town, which resulted in us going over the slated mileage amount (which we were billed for) and messed up our timeline. We werent provided with any of the equipment we reserved. They did offer to bring it out to us after our slated move but that was WAY after the fact. We were already done! We found out when we dropped off the vehicle at another location that this particular location charged us for the equipment they didnt issue us, even though they acknowledged they didnt provide it and stated they wouldnt charge us for. This was straight from the store manager, Jay Scott. After waiting what seemed like an eternity over the phone, customer service representatives told us a manager and then regional manager (the second time we called) would get back to us but nobody did. Im held to a high standard at my job and honestly dont expect much from certain places, but this was ridiculous. Moving can be one of the most stressful times and this place made it so much worse for us. Penske and Budget are much better and will save you a ton of time, money and hassle.

I can track a pack of oreos....these guys dont know if a hitch is arriving as promised a WEEK IN ADVANCE? Called corporate, they promised GM would contact me for resolution. NO CALL, NO CONTACT. When a companys failure single-handedly causes your ENTIRE VACATION PLANS TO BE RUINED, I think a call to perhaps ATTEMPT to correct the situation is perhaps, warranted? Dont waste your time with a company like this. No customer service, no responsibility to the customer.

Absolutely terrible leadership store manager(Jonathan) always hanging out with guys screwing around leaves store for hours at a time assistant manager Krystal shouldn’t be a manager can’t even detain issues in store when escalations happen I was used by this leadership for a very long time and abused when they decided they didn’t need me anymore they send me home for asthma attack like I had covid which violates the American disease act and I was out store 2 weeks with no pay and location was not shut down then brings me back working 2 days a week forcing me pretty much to quit but I didn’t I needed a trailer so rented one like he let’s all the guys do and decided to fire me for same thing he lets others in store do picks and chooses who has to wear mask depends who you are and what sex you are to how your treated with this douche.

Extremely disappointed with this location. I have rented U Hauls many times in my life and never had this experience. The guy who assisted when we picked up the truck was obviously new and had a lot of trouble with the computer system. Even after mentioning several times that we were in a bit of a time crunch, the more experienced employee (or manager, not sure which she was), continued to ignore our needs. We traveled a total of 19 miles (I mapped each address) and were charged for 114! I called the company and put in a complaint online but have received no return call or acknowledgement. Since U-Haul locations are a dime a dozen around here, I would recommend you go somewhere else.

Friendly and helpful staff, installed my tow hitch and wiring on my jeep in a half hour, only has to wait 15 minutes before they finished the vehicle before me. Good job, good prices. Only problem, not much parking for customers, but I see that at most U-Hauls.

Terrible customer service, doesnt answer the phone and when they do they just put you on hold and eventually send you to the same automated system that put you on hold. I could tell the guy was just blowing me off whether he was busy or not and I just had a quick question

Waited 30 minutes in line to buy a few boxes and tape they need a 2nd cashier to handle all the reservations and drop offs, rediculous.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. Did not receive equipment I rented with my truck. I called, was told I could come back and pick it up (didnt work with my timeline). They supposedly credited my account. However, I was still billed for the equipment. The speedy check-in process still kept me waiting in line for 20 minutes prior to getting the truck. My suggestion? Penske. Much better trucks, better customer service, and they dont make foibles like this.

Rented a car trailer online. They had me hooked up in no time and even supplied the proper wiring adapter for my truck. Drop off was easy as well. Just be warned the parking lot is small.

Rude, rude, rude! Very unprofessional and lazy employees! Made a reservation a week prior to pickup. Mind you we live in Tampa but thought it was a better idea to rent from an actual Uhaul store than a gas station. Get there to be told that they didn’t have a truck or dolly... their yard is FULL of Dolly’s and trucks!! Had to go to a far Uhaul to pickup our reservation which had been moved and we received no notification. We clearly didn’t learn the lesson and tried to again rent another truck for my mom who is also moving and the employees take their time to walk around doing nothing. Again no truck when they have tons of trucks!! I was ignored multiple times by the employees and even had the employee I was dealing with be told to ignore me?! Get out of here!!

Charged me for cleaning fees, although the van was clean.When I returned the van the guy working there said you can leave and I don’t have to come with him to check for anything.And when I saw my final bill they charged me for cleaning fees and also charged me for extra miles which I never drove. I did email to the supervisor but never heard back from them.Very disappointed.

I paid them to install a hitch on my jeep. After I picked up the vehicle, the left tail light was left unplugged, the fuse box cover was left off under the hood, the main power wire was left loose where they installed the power line for the hitch lights, the left and right fender well and mudflaps were not correctly bolted on, and the hitch wasnt secured properly. As you can see in the photos, the hitch bolt was cross threaded and left loose. I have called three times and told a manger will call me back but I never receive a return call. This was a horrible experience and I would not recommend this company for any service.

This corporate owned Uhaul has a small parking lot but many trucks and trailers, Ive always received friendly service and if you didnt reserve a truck in advance of your move they will help by finding one for you. If you need help loading or unloading use Father and Son Moving just tell them you have your own truck for a lower price.

Great place to get propane! But it can be a long wait if it is the morning, they have a lot of people picking up U-Haul trucks and the checkout line is slow.

After an awful experience with another trucking company, we called Uhaul. They got us a truck, quickly explained the cost and got us ready within minutes. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The cost are straight forward and there are no hidden charges. Our move was quick, easy and reasonably priced. We will use Uhaul for all of our moves!

Fast service, however they charged my boyfriends card 3 times. When we told them they did, the cashier said it did not go through, but it did. When we returned the truck later that day we showed the cashier the charges and he only refunded a partial amount and said give it a few days. Well a few days later all three charges were still on the card. It took multiple phone calls to that location and the uhual corporate and about 6 rude employees before we finally found a woman who was willing to help. Overall, it was a frustrating experience and we will not be coming back to this location.

Charged me for cleaning fee even though I returned it clean. They also charged me a $20 fee for dropping it off early after hours. Even with the mileage it should have only cost me $40 but my final bill was $95. Not a very good way to do business. Never had this issue with any of the other Brandon locations so I won’t be coming back.

Renting a vehicle is to much, but once youve done it, its not bad and also the cost is not bad either.

Took truck in for wiring harness to be installed and was told one hour. Two and a half hours later, got my truck back. Went home to hook up my camper, wiring wasnt working. Took truck back and was told to come back today. Was told I needed a relay, two trips to the auto parts later Im told the old relay may be good but the wiring still isnt working and they dont have the tools to check where the issue is. Maybe instead of having 100 trucks cluttering their parking lot they can buy their techs the tools they need to do their job. Summer walks the parking lot smoking instead of getting involved with customer complaints and Brian sits on his phone with a scowl on his face. UPDATE: took it to another uhaul in Riverview. Ended up being the ground wire. $35. I can return the $30 relay I didnt need.

Horrible experience where U-Haul falsifies gas readings to charge more. I took a picture of the gas guage and mileage when I left which showed near full. Upon return where I only went 11miles & used 3 gallons of gas after fueling. I noticed the fuel guage then read well above full. I advised John at the rental counter the guage was inaccurate. He stated nothing can be done since it stated I signed contract that listed it as full. The guage did show near full which was not accurate. I asked to speak to the manager who was not there and he said on Sunday the manager will not pick up the phone. I demanded a partial refund on the fuel and he refused.

DO NOT USE BRANDON UHAUL FOR ANY HITCH INSTALLATION!!! I ordered my hitch installation a week before my appointment. I took it in after paying $400 to get it installed. After I came back to pick up my car, the guy told me to make sure that they had put the ball on (that I paid for), because sometimes they forget. I then go a week later to pick up my uhaul trailer down in Naples, FL to drive up to New York where my husband is coming home from a deployment. They did not correctly instal my hitch so I could not pick up my trailer, which means they did not test or do any diagnostics after installing it. I had got the run around, and am now a day late leaving for my trip, and have not yet gotten my hitch fixed. Thankfully the district manager down in south Florida has been helpful in trying to resolve this issue, since Brandon Uhaul could care less about their piss poor job.

Mis-quoted & mis-charged. First worker claimed they or neighboring uhauls didnt have small van sizes. Online said differently. Then they claimed itd be more expensive and that we couldnt drop the truck at a different location. Kept trying to get this man to explain why and he finally said itd be more expensive, $83. Told him it wasnt the price quoted online. He basically ignored us so we said fine we need to leave, (a line was forming) and paid still telling him that wed never had such a problem. So he said look at the computer, if you dropped it elsewhere itd be $73. $73 is less than $83 and more convenient than driving back there. Incompetent.

I was in a bad situation and my aunt was kind enough to help. She sent me a $200 Uhaul gift certificate so I did not lose my storage. I called and confirm with UHAUL and they give me the go ahead. I fill out the certificate and head on my way the next morning. When I get there the lady behind the counter tells me I need a credit card. I tell her I have a gift certificate. She called another associate and then tells that I pay after the trip with the gift certificate. I knew I could not make the trip in time to get back by 7pm, so I come back early the next day. The new associate (the one the other one called the day before.) tells me I still need a credit/debit card with $100 on it, even though I have a gift certificate. Wait, that wasnt what was told me on the phone. I ask her, Why would I get a gift certificate if I already had the cash?, that didnt make sense at all. Alright, well then I will have to go about this another way. I asked her, How do I get my aunt her money back? She answered, I am not sure, call corporate. I call corporate. Guess what? They dont do refunds on gift certificates. Although it states, no cash refunds, it means no refunds. I explained everything multiple times to Gavin, the customer service supervisor. All he is able to do is message the man behind the curtain, who denied the refund. After all of the times I have used Uhaul, they get stingy with $200 that they misrepresented. Hmm, perhaps I will give my 14 year old daughter the certificate for an early going to college present. As a veteran and someone that still serves, I move often and all over. I have always used Uhaul. After this, not again.
