Seems to always have what I need. Online pickup could be better as you still have to stand in a checkout line though

Academy has sizes of shoes that I didnt think would fit me and I know where ill be going next time and they have very nice and respectful staff

This place has what you need for the most part but, trying to get out of this store is ridiculous. The new cattle shoot style check out is horrible since of the 10 or so registers, there are only 3 in use even at the busiest time of day. Put others to work.. A tip, if it aint broke, dont fix it.

Academy sports and outdoors really made me mad. I ordered a pistol offline, good price, lightweight, something that a girl could use. I went through the whole application process and everything, entered in my banking information, credit card information, etc., etc., waited for the confirmation email, got the confirmation email, went all the way to the freaking store, then suddenly I have to have a hard copy of my ID or drivers license. now nowhere on the site or during the application process did it say I had to have a hard copy, I do have la wallet, and I think if its good enough for the cops it should be good enough for freaking academy. that was my experience be careful buying firearms online, especially from this store, make sure you get all of your information and it might be a good idea to call the store before you ever even make the order.

Academy has a lot of great items for great prices great deals big sales but there are no kind words to express the way I feel about the $25 laser rod and reel the pole itself looks sharp and its very high quality the real however is so dysfunctional and I missed out a whole day fishing trying to fix it for my son needless to say I will spend more money next time...

Sales persons were friendly and helpful. Answered all my questions. Will shop there again.

Very disappointed this time,what workers they have were standing around talking,waited 15min for someone to come to shoe dept. Absolutely HATE there so called new check out system, we are people not cattle!! Seems they no longer care about their shoppers that are paying their wages.

There was no one that offered assistance, with many employees just standing around talking. I did find one employee that was taking down shelves that stopped and assisted me. They did have what I needed.

Never will I spend a single penny in this store again!!!! She spent more time saying she couldnt help me when it would of took a split second to point the direction of the bathroom!! I understand its Christmas time and folk are busy. I went into the store to purchase a punching bag for my sons Christmas. At first I couldnt find it so I went to ask the guy at the front door if I could get some help. He was nice and called someone right away. Well long story short after about 20 minutes looking around the area waiting for some help I finally found what I was looking tucked away in a back corner with a ladder propped in front of it. The guy at the check out was nice.

About a week ago we stopped by Academy on the way back home from ULM. Management needs to pay attention to the restrooms, especially the mens restroom which was especially nasty! We were also disappointed that the store did not have a better selection of ULM gear.

Wonderful store. Well stocked, helpful staff. No wait check-out. The cashier was a sweet and courteous young lady. We are satisfied with the store and staff.

Beginning of July, only two weeks into summer and ALL of the kayaks and equipment had already been removed. They are getting as bad as walmart, trying to stay 2 months ahead of the season is NONSENSE. Employees are mostly cheap labor and counter help and not very knowledgeable about products sold in the store

Monroe has hundreds of tennis players who all are forced to shop online or when they travel out of town.Their outdoor cooking section is great. They have good quality items at great prices.

Garrett was amazing! We were looking for an oversized comfy fold up chair and I found one on the website that was in stock in the store, we grabbed the one that was in that spot and he was like no wait, thats the wrong chair! Someone had put the wrong chair in that spot and he helped us find the actual chair we came for. Very happy with the service received.

We were followed around by police me and my son just came from gym and had to get something for my wifes plantar fasciitis shes a nurse and always on her feet and we were looking around in this day and age you never know what kinda cop it is cause in Louisiana you best be scared of a cop even when hes an off duty cop rented out

They have a large selection of shoes but not a large variety of styles. They are very commercial, not stylish. Its like the dumping ground for all of the other Academies cross the region. The styles are very dated and similar.

I Placed an order for same day pick up. I waited all day to receive the email saying that my order was ready. It was not until the next morning that I heard back from them and they told me that the item I ordered had been sold out. I was in the store earlier that day so I know that it was also sold that day.I placed another order the next day for a similar item, since the previous one was sold out, and spent 45 minutes trying to get ahold of that department to ask if they had it available; they still have not answered.I have no guarantees that I will receive my order at all or even when to drive over there for it. I am fed up.

Neat and organized while very presentable store. The only downside for me was the police waiting at the door. Just makes me feel uneasy. Otherwise, its a great store.

I go to this Academy Sports a lot. The retail area is great! The areas that I frequent, fishing, mens clothing and footwear are great, as are the employees. The reason for the low rating is the restrooms. They are always dirty. The stall locks are broken off, no toilet paper in all but two in the mens room. My wife said that the ladies room was dirty, only one sink actually worked. Does anyone clean the restrooms? Ive been to probably 10 Academy Sports across the south, I fish a bunch. None, I repeat none are this dirty.

I couldn’t shop at this location. I had knee surgery 4 weeks ago and I’m still on crutches and when I went inside and asked for a wheelchair or electric buggy they didn’t have neither. I’m really tired of business who are supposed to have equipment for people who can’t get around easy, that never have the equipment available for the public.

I just left and they don’t allow you to get your money back they want to put it on a gift card or the original card they say they are not allowed to give cash back. Which I know is incorrect due to they have before this acedemy sports has officially lost my buisness due to the rudeness of the female manager as well as her not wanting to give me the cash

This is a good place for outdoorsy type people. Academy has anything and everything that you need for The Great Outdoors.

I made it out there door and to Texas to my daughter dance competition to see that the lazy girl that was sitting and pouting on the shelf where the register is didn’t do her job and to call and the manager CHUCK says well what you want me to do about it.... I Love this store, its so worth the 30 mile drive! Found my sketchers for work, only place I can get them without having to order online.

I have bought multiple items from this particular store and not once have I been disappointed. This last visit I went into buy a pistol. I forgot my mask and they had a representative at the front that had some for those who didnt have masks. The total time in the store was 30 minutes +/- a few, that is extremely quick when buying a firearm. This store was also opened on a Sunday, which in my area most smaller stores are not. No hit against the smaller stores but I am off on the weekends only and that is when I do my shopping so the stores that are open will be the ones that get my business.

Good place to pick up gift items and everyday hobby items. They were very low on ammunition and out of stock on fishing items I was looking for that night.

Nice store but no pride in keeping parking lot clean and the restrooms are nasty. Walls need to be cleaned and mopped.

Easy to navigate the store. Needed assistance from floor associate to get the item needed. Associates brought the item up to front of store as I breezed through check out. They brought the item outside and loaded it up into my truck curbside.

We woke up this morning w/ no power and no way to cook breakfast.We purchased a Coleman propane stove for only $1 more than Amazon and a 6 pack of gas. I couldnt be happier and relieved we do not have to deal with rude managers at IHOP next time mealtimes roll around.

First time actually going into the store to shop and I am very pleased. My friend girl has told me for months to go in there because I would love it and I did. Despite the Saturday holiday crowd, the staff was available and helpful. I definitely found myself buying more than I initially planned. Great trip.

I usually do not shop here and my son told me to go get my fishing license at Academy. They start you out at register, then the employee takes you to customer service and finishes there. In the meantime, people behind me waiting to check out are still waiting through this process. There were only two lines open to check out.Definately need more check out lines open and different procedure for getting your fishing and hunting license.

Love Academy. Sporting goods, cooking, fishing, hunting, clothes....My wife can pretty much get all my Christmas Shopping done in one place.

If you dig through the clothing you can find really good deals! I liked the brand assortments, high end and cheaper options. Shoe selection is GREAT! Tons of sporting items carried, would check here first for anything needed for your kids. They have outdoor toys too.

Lady was very nice that brought my merchandise to the car. But I had to call the store a couple times to let them know I was there. The app was not working properly that day

I purchased a firearm online and when I tried to pick it up after filling out the forms the gun sales person informed me I had checked that I was a felon and I couldnt purchase a gun. I told him I had check no on the question and I had only had one traffic ticket in my life but he said that it would be thirty days before I could fill out the form again. BEWARE! The iPad answers can change after printout so ask for a paper form instead or you will be sorry. Ive never had a problem purchasing a firearm before so I made a complaint on the better business bureau website. After assuring me the felony answer couldnt be changed in the computer I asked if I could fill out a paper form and she said yes.
