I had to have my car serviced in the midst of the pandemic. I appreciated that they installed a shield at the counter, and that everyone was properly wearing a mask (covering their nose and mouth). They even posted a sign informing that all customers were required to wear a mask in the building. Im very happy I got my car serviced here.

So I came needing my flex pipe replaced and oil changed, but I was on a tight budget because I was moving to New York three days after my visit to the shop. One of the guys ASKED ME what my budget was and made it happen. They dropped me off at my house and picked me up. When I arrived at the shop to pick my car up my car was still making the noises that it was making and I thought what I got fixed was going to fix that but I was wrong (which is my fault) but the pipe did need fixing (it was leaking)they read the codes to my car and and we found out one of my cylinders were misfiring. Remember I was on a budget so this really upset me because I didn’t want to travel 11 hours like this, but AGAIN they worked with my budget and fixed it! My cars running beautifully!

Been here a few times for incidental issues like tire punctures and patches and alignment. But this week my 2008 Chevy Equinox with 122000 miles requires some extensive repairs. I took it in for a groaning noise vibration coming from the front end vibrating the steering wheel and foot pedals. The service writer had told me its probably wheel bearings. He and the team inspected the car and found that to correct the problem from recurring it would best be a complete front end suspension away bar and tire replacement with alignment and serpentine belt replace. They explained the work and helped save money on the work. After I drove it home I noticed that the grease had leaked out of a CV boot on o e of the front half axles. I called them and examined the issue they told me to come right in and they would see what they could do. They immediately addressed the problem and had me back on the road before a had to get to my job for the next day. Great honest and caring folks here. The demonstrated their professionalism and caring kindness to me. They earned my business and I would recommend them to all my friends and family. Come support a great local Waukegan business.

I love bring my car here they get the job done. They explain and break everything down for me. Plus you can drop your car off and they will take you back home or back to work and pick up once your car is ready. The front desk workers have great customer services. They are better then all the car companies i been to before i started coming to them.

Wheres Don? For over 5 years I have taken my cars to Merlins for any and everything I could. From my first encounter Don told me whenever I needed to bring my vehicle in ask for him. It wasnt until the change that I understood exactly why. Whatever service my vehicle needed Don would patiently explain what was necessary and why. AND he would always offer a range of prices. Low end to higher end parts and what I could reasonably expect from whatever choice I made. Just recently I brought my car in, there were a few things that warranted service which I already knew. I was a familiar face so I didnt think a Don only request was necessary. I regret that decision. I was told what maintenance was due and an order from in which was most pertinent and what could potentially wait. However I was given no options for parts. Only a bill for each. I want to be specific so hopefully my review makes sense. New tires. I knew I needed them. I even knew which ones I wanted. Except I was never asked. I dont need Bridgestone all winter tires. But thats the only quote I got. This unfortunately put a bad taste in my mouth. I dont know if its because Im a woman, or if maybe they thought I wouldnt do my own research into options, or if maybe theres some quota now. Whatever the reason, it has me shopping other places simply because I dont want to go back and hope that maybe Ill get a better offer. The quality of the work was always great, or if I thought it needed another look at they were always accommodating. Great work for sure! But where is Don?
