Went today for the first time and had a great experience. Had an El Diablo, shaved ice version of the diablito, very tasty. I will be back to try the food. Great prices.

Happened onto this great place a few months ago ran in to get some water and was pleasantly surprised by there wonderful food and drinks, plus they have a great happy hour menu I now go to at least twice a week ( Im hooked on the root beer floats)

Best Pastrami in north county - had the little pastrami dog, pastrami melt, pastrami sandwich, and the pastrami fries with seasoned salt. Not since the 70s and my very first Togos pastrami sandwich, have I experienced grub this good.Top it off, great friendly food service that is just rare these days. Ill be back there again soon

This is a great roadside establishment. Im from the UK and had the best hotdog Ive had in the USA. I opted for the Cali Dog but theres a whole range on offer. For desert I had a hot fudge Churro. Yum.They do ice creams and snow cones plus loads more food options. You can get a beer here too.Best of all though is the very friendly service. The staff are great. We were brought mini portions of thick milk shake for free during our meal too.Highly recommended!

Good old American comfort food!! Delicious. I had the Chile Dog Shack Combo. Small fries and soda and tasty Macadamia nut cookie. The small fries are huge. I thought they were large. I almost ordered a second Hotdog but glad I didnt because the Chile Dog was huge. (Costco dog size). The Chile was very good.

Love getting my water filled here. Nice team and delicious food. Also I bought their last copy of The Pink Panther which Im proud of.

This place has good prices. You can also purchase and consume the ice ceam of your choice and if you dont eat dairy the water shack also has snocones which happen to be bigger than youd expect and at a very good price. I believe you can rent movies here as well.

Pricing reasonable for water refills. They have alkaline water and purified drinking water. Lots of ice cream etc menu items. Had a shaved ice with mango and coconut flavor.

Great local spot for affordable and tasty alkaline water. The store is clean and never too crowded. Easy to get in and out of even with a ton of bottles. They have trolleys to use to help with the heavy bottles to your car. The staff is very friendly and helpful also and they have a loyalty program that frequently gives us 5 gallons of water free!

I remember when this location was on E vista way by little ceasars the best and the new location way better and the food especially the chile cheese frys FRESH

Everyone is always friendly, but today was a bit different. My husband and I went in for the awesome shaved ice. My daughter and my nephews also arrived right after we did. They had rented a video. My husband and I were already being helped by an Asian employee who is always friendly and she is always a hard worker. Another young America girl employee with glasses asked us if we were together and I said we are family, but they are next I pointed to my daughter. The American young girl looks at me and said, well you will have to be helped all together. She made the employee who was helping us work on all orders by herself. This American young girl should have helped out since we were in line and my daughter was next. I always support local businesses, but this young lady needs to learn what next in line means. No one likes to be ignored.

I went today and got ice cream and the lady there was so nice. It really made my day. She had the best attitude and I love how you seem welcomed in. The ice cream is good, the cookies taste like home made which is also quite nice. I was surprised by how soft it was. I liked it. The teas are also nice and the coffees. They keep adding more and its so close to my home I really love that too. The snow cones used to be my favorite part before I started getting more interested in ice cream but I gotta stop doing that. Its just a nice place. Sometimes a little too hot, but for the most part quite nice and very friendly! Thank you!

The really nice family that owns and operates this well-run business are great people. I have been getting my water and supplies from them for close to 4 years and I always feel better after having visited with them in store twice per month. The quality of water there is the best I have ever tasted and their food items are delicious and priced right. They are my favorite retailers out of the many who I do business with in the North County and I wish them the best of luck for their continuing success in Vista. PS Any negative reviews about this place on Google or Yelp are crazy and should be ignored. They are probably planted by competitors in the area who are envious of the Water Shack’s success.

The water Shack is a fun place where you can have a bit of nostalgic fun.You can actually walk around a video store and pick out a movie as a family! Unlike red box they have all the wonderful Classics you can think of and plenty of random obscure movies you may have forgot existed. Plus the staff is super knowledgeable on movies and can give you some great recommendations. Also they have the best ice creams and treats!

The hotdogs and desserts are delicious. This is the closest I get to Chicago style hot dogs. Great portion size and reasonable prices. There is a really neat DVD room connected to the place with movies and shows ranging from Anime to classic movies. I cant wait to try some of their sandwiches. My husband and I loved the place. People here are very friendly and always provide great service. Highly recommend.

So ive been to the water shack wants to eat a chili dog which by the way was good just a little too salty for me. So i decided to come back with my wife and try the pastrami sandwich. If you look up the outside you would think its just some hole-in-the-wall which it is but you wouldnt believe that they sell one of the best pastrami sandwiches i have probably tasted. I compare their pastrami sandwich to that of The Hat.. and i freaking love the hats pastrami sandwich. This pastrami sandwich came with pastrami busting out the seams of the bread it was a very huge sandwich. Me and my wife split it and we got very full, they say it is about half a pound of pastrami in each sandwich. I went to another place about two days earlier and order pastrami sandwich and it was horrible. the pastrami sandwich from the water shack is the best around. You should go and try it.

Update: they now serve chili dogs & chili cheese fries!!! And they are really really delicious! I know it sounds weird coming from a water store, but the owner apparently grew up in LA and found the same suppliers as Pink’s & Cupid’s for the chili and hot dogs. Legitimate & highly recommended. Pricing is extremely fair, plus the staff are always super helpful and friendly.Love this place. Clean, friendly staff and lots of parking. The water (both alkaline and regular) is cost efficient and easy to fill. Great selection of goodies for the kids from shaved ice to Thrifty ice cream to frappes to cookies, etc. video store in the back so all in all, a great trip for the family and will continue to be regulars

I go for the water! Purified by reverse osmosis + alkalized to >9 = crisp, clean and pure, refreshing, thirst quenching, goodness. Its spoils me for anything else. Easy on the wallet, and on the environment (no more plastic bottles!).

It is one of the few places where employees make the customer feel like another member of the family. Great variety of products: sweets, purified water, movies, and desserts are just some to mention. They are complacent in every sense of the word. There is a little waiting time, but its really worth it.

Ive been going to this lovely place since they were over by Little Caesars on the other side of Vista. Definitely some of the best shave ice Ive had in CA, totally random location lol. The shave ice sizes are pretty generous, so I would usually just get a kids size or whatever the smallest size was for myself & be more than satisfied. Cheap, delicious, & refreshing; what more could you want? Fun little place to go to after a movie or if youre in the area.

Their alkaline water is so good plus they have yummy home baked treats and ice cream! They also have great deals on prepaid water cards to save some money if you get water regularly. Video dollar day is right inside the same building so you can grab a movie while youre there.

This place is really interesting. They have ice cream, movie/video rental, coffee and filtered water. Im like whoa this is cool! You could also pre pay for filtered water for a cheaper price per gallon and free bonus gallons of water. Im definitely coming back!

Ive been refilling our water jugs with alkaline water. It tastes much better. Maybe its me or the ice cream chilli fries soda and shaved ice I consume while visiting.

I come here about twice a week . Love their shakes, ice cream, burgers, grilled cheese and they sell beer so it works great . Affordable prizes my kids love it and so does my wallet.

They have shaved ice with ice cream like in hawaii!!! Great place to fill up on water (alkaline too) and easy to bring kids because of treats like cookies, smoothies and ice cream. Video store in back with huge selection. This store is clean and has friendly staff. Highly recommended

Nice. It had more then just water. You can get snacks and ice cream. There is a section in the back where you can buy movies or more snacks/candy.

Cheap to refill a 5-gallon, and delicious classic ice cream! Shave ice could go down a bit in price, but otherwise there are movies right next door- in the same building. Movies are usually only a dollar plus tax.

Mold in my shaved ice. Employees not cleaning the shaved ice machine properly or the ice machines. This has happened more then once. People can get sick from mold. Clean your machines...dam.

I love the atmosphere the ladies set as soon as i walk in reguardless how terrible my day is going as soon as i come thru the front door i just forget all about my day. The ladies are nice they make sure that we are taken care of they have awesome chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies. I work at a hotel and i have a bunch of people asking where they can rent movies i will definitely send them to Video Dollar Day.

Used to get water at Carlsbad Alkaline, but theyve been down. This place makes it so easy, no lines, easy parking, and carts to help you to your car. I wont be going back to the parking mess and lines, now that I found this place. Also Hawaiian Shaved Ice!!

The water here is good and they have reasonable prices but I was sadly disappointed when I bought a groupon for 40 gallons of alkaline water and it was not honored after the fact. I went into to the store to redeem it and create an account a little over a year ago, was told my new account could be located using my phone number and name and that once the Groupon was redeemed and added to my account it would not have an expiration date. I went in last Sunday to use it because I had since moved out of the area, and I was told my account could not be located at all either by name or phone number, therefor my 40 gallons were forever lost because they could not tell if I had used it previously. Even if the credit had been used my account should still be in the system since I did go into the store to create one and redeem my promotion in the first place. All that was offered to me was one free fill and wasted time. Seems like a poor account system is in place... :(
