VERY happy I decided to buy a new mattress here. Family-owned, fair prices, and salespeople who are helpful but dont hover. They offer a sizeable selection of mattresses (which they produce themselves), soft and firm, and delivery is free.

I bought my mattress about four years ago at Urban Mattress. I am the quintessential princess and the pea--very picky about mattresses and had been through a nightmare of trial and error purchases. My Urban Mattress is PERFECT and is unchanged after four years. Keep up the great work!

Extremely impressed with this mattress company! A very professional and affordable experience from beginning to end. We bought our Cali King back in July 2019 and have looked forward to getting in it any chance we can. We owned a Tempurpedic for many years before that, and this mattress is every bit as good, if not better, in quality and for the price. It was time to replace my 15 year old Sterns & Foster mattress, the mattress had developed an indentation and I was waking up each day with shoulder and lower back pain. Based on a recommendation, I visited the Urban Mattress store in Vienna. Nathaniel greeted me and spent the time I needed to pick out the best mattress for me. I had done some research before I went to the store, so I had a little background on mattress construction and what makes a great mattress. I could tell right away Nathaniel know his stuff and his no pressure approach made me feel I was making the right decision. The mattress was delivered about two weeks after my visit to the store. The delivery crew was great, they arrived within the two hour window Nathaniel gave me and they called when they were on their way. The guys were polite and respectful of my home and had the new mattress in and the old one out in 15 minutes.I ended up purchasing the Virtues Gratitude and I have never slept better since the mattress was delivered (about two weeks ago). I switch from sleeping on my side to sleeping on my stomach, and the Gratitude give the proper support while soft on my shoulders when side sleeping. The shoulder pain and lower back pain are gone. I can’t say enough about the outstanding mattress and the service I received from Urban Mattress. If you need a mattress go see Nathaniel!

Two weeks ago, went to the website and discussed I was looking for. The next day, I went in and Nate/David remembered all the details. Very knowledgeable and courteous. Two weeks later, my new mattress is in-house. Definitely recommend to anyone seeking a great mattress, along with great customer support.

After looking around at other stores, we went into Urban Mattress in Vienna, VA after a friend recommended UM to us. We ended up buying an “Iris by Bloom” mattress after a bit of side by side comparison. Our old mattress really was worn out and I had been waking up with a sore back. Ugh! Anyway, our new mattress has been excellent and so comfortable. Best of all, my back pain is gone! Should have done this sooner. If you are near Vienna, you should check them out.

Loved everything about this store. We had been to several mattress stores and were so tired of pushy sales people and trying to get the best sale/price. Urban mattress makes buying a mattress a very easy and non stressful process. The staff is knowledgeable and give you as much time as you need to try the mattresses. We absolutely love our mattress and are happy with the price we paid (for the feel/quality/construction). We would 100% recommend buying a mattress from here. We intend to come back for mattresses for our children.

Great place to buy a mattress. The individual who helped me out was incredibly knowledgeable and allowed me to try any mattress with no pressured sales pitches. He explained the various materials and why their good, and he was able to explain the differences between some of their Good, Better, Best ratings. I get the new bed delivered Monday (free delivery too!).

Almost 3 years after I bought my mattress, and I am as thrilled as I was on day 1. So amazingly comfortable. I travel a fair bit for work, and regardless of how luxurious the hotel where I stay I am always eager to return to my PranaSleep Latex mattress.Nathaniel was so helpful and knowledgeable. Never pushy. He tolerated my coming back 3-4 times before I made a decision. When the bed was delivered to my new home he was kind enough to send a house-warming gift along with the drivers. A class act!

Well, I cant say I was not stalked by online apps selling all the hip mattresses for days Ive been researching beds and everything good bad a buddy for a week.But Ive walked by Urban Mattress on my sojourns to the dry cleaners I frequent and stood marveling at the front things.. tall jars ofofibers and horsehair and maybe some beans from the milagro beanfield . Making the inner structure of these magical sleeping units a grand experience. interesting..window out front...I thought then too magical for my budget...Still I called and they invited me in. Masked of course....SOON Nathaniel opened up the door.. we went by the sleeping stations.. all low key.. low stress... and CALM.The coffee bar is a nice touch where a little familiarity allowed Greg, my primary sales person and Nathan a chance to know a little bit to help get you into the right FABULOUS.Sleeping station, bed, place to read think sleep whatever... The cocoon...as I say..Anyway it smelled like clean stuff. as Greg was my guide he allowed for me to recline ask good or dumb questions such as, what color sheets should I get the bed ? Still as Greg further showed me a metal thingy that, well actually nothing felt like metal but pillow cloud soft and gosh that little piece of a larger bed Ill soon get..well i that small piece was lucious yet supportive . NO chemically smells just that clean cotton.even the top was ohh so nicely calm and tones of creamy soft cottony fabric....nothing fake.only clean and real..compare toif you were lucky enough child to sleep on sun and fresh air dried white Cotton sheets!!Before you go to sleep in them, just smell.. Naturally it was in the Midwest. Naturally...Anyway back to Urban Mattress...I thought a bed made by hand and not just pulled from stock ..just this day .buying a mattress or anything very special, is a good experience and is Gregory and Nathaniel truly get this ..that is the way you get treated at Urban Mattress and its a special way and I cant really explain much more But you know when its happening...thank you

Its been 6 weeks and I absolutely love my new mattress!! I think it was the Essentials Silver Lake Firm, and I got a shredded latex pillow too. Best and most comfortable mattress Ive ever had (and pillow too)...and the best part is the whole shopping experience was comfortable too. Nathaniel is super nice & helpful, laid back, and no pressure. When my mattress couldnt be delivered as scheduled because of the Thanksgiving holiday rush...he called to let me know ahead of time and offered a discount for my inconvenience. Finally, a good place and way to buy a new mattress. Highly recommend.

Urban Mattress will earn your business. Nathaniel is very friendly and knowledgeable. I never felt pressured to buy. Nathaniel was very understanding of my budget and offered genuine advice not generic sales pitches. It would be well worth the drive for anyone in Northern VA, MD, or DC. You cant go wrong here because they have great prices, selection, and service.

Id just like to preface this review and say that normally, Im very apprehensive about going to any furniture / mattress store where the employees there work on commission. You know the type - the ones that never leave your side, try to up-sell you on the next model up, and are visibly frustrated when you dont buy now, because to them, youre wasting their time otherwise.Thankfully, I can say that my experience with Nathaniel at Urban Mattress were none of these things. Though I ultimately did not walk out with a mattress (as of yet), there were a couple of distinct differences that stood out on this visit.1) He wasnt pushy. At all. Whenever I had a question, he answered in a direct, honest manner. He wasnt throwing out 100 facts and statistics about the well-being of my health, nor was he hovering over my head when I was testing some of the mattresses. Whenever I had a question about one mattress vs. the other, he gave an unbiased opinion based on characteristics I was looking for. Also, as a side note, his most expensive options werent at the front of the store, which again, is contrary to most of the other specialized mattress shops around the area.2) His demeanor. I was at the shop for a good 30 - 40 minutes and, as stated previously, did not make a purchase. I told him I needed to think about it and check out some other places, and not once did I see any visible sign of frustration cross his face. He was very professional and very courteous, and understood completely that buying a good mattress is a small investment for your future.Overall, if I were to buy a mattress, I would definitely buy it from this place. Nathaniel offers a quality selection, and knows it, and lets the products do most of the talking.

Nathan is extremely helpful and goes the extra mile for his customers. They are honest, never pushey and down to earth folks. Great quality mattresses that are harder to find elsewhere. I am long term customer and highly recommend them to my friends and family.

The Vienna Va store was clean and has a great selection of mattresses in very reasonable price range that are made with Natural and Environmentally conscious materials. I came to Urban Mattress in December with an idea what I wanted - I had the name and the type of the mattress and described that to the owner. He acted like he knew exactly what I was talking about and pointed me to one of the mattresses in the store.When I said that it felt hard, he assured me that this was the mattress I was looking for, he knows the brand I mentioned and this was it. I trusted that he indeed knew what he was talking about and purchased the mattress.I have been waking up with sore shoulders ever since. When I tried to do the promised free exchange, it turned out that I bought the cheapest mattress in the store and the other softer model would cost me an additional $1000 plus the $170 delivery fee that is not mentioned anywhere.This was an attempt to help a small local business that really backfired.

We got our mattress from Urban Mattress about a year ago and we couldnt be happier! Its a no pressure environment. Unlike most shops where the second you walk in someone is there to follow you around, they simply say Welcome! Check things out, when you need us or have questions just call us over! When we did test some out, they asked what we liked and how much we wanted to spend. They didnt waste our time with trying to upsell but took us straight to our options. They are very friendly, knowledgeable, accomodating, and have great mattresses! Very well priced for the high quality. The only complaint we had was that its damn near impossible to get up for work in the morning! The mattress is just way too comfortable! Never buying a mattress from anywhere else!

After straggling for several months trying to buy a mattress, we ended up in Urban Mattress in Vienna. This place is absolutely great !! Knowledgeable people and fantastic service. We received our two VI Spring mattresses within the time frame promised (as a matter of fact a few weeks earlier) in excellent condition and was put together by two wonderful guys. If you are in the market for a mattress you must go to this place. It will save you a lot of time and frustration dealing with shady salespeople trying to sell you anything that they can sell. Nathaniel and his employees are the best by far !! By the way, the chocolate and the bottle of wine delivered with the bed were a great touch. Congratulations for operating this wonderful business.

My wife and I purchased a mattress from Urban Mattress a couple of weeks ago and were really pleased with our experience there and also happy with the mattress we ended up buying. We originally decided to check out Urban Mattress because my wife was more interested in organic and natural mattresses. They had a really good selection and had several brands that other mattress stores in the area didnt carry. The store itself is nicely laid out and has a really relaxing feel to it. We worked with Nathaniel and were really impressed with the way he took the time to answer all of our questions, but still gave us plenty of time and space to just lay on all the different mattresses to try them out. We didnt feel pressured to buy anything or like we were being given a sales pitch like we have in some of the other mattress stores in the area. Our mattress was delivered on time and the delivery guys were great about having to carry it up two flights of stairs! Id definitely recommend stopping by this place if youre shopping for a mattress in the Northern VA/DC area.

Bought three mattresses and they were delivered the same day. Nathaniel (owner) was very helpful and patient as I flopped on basically all the mattresses in the showroom. Had to return one mattress and buy the box spring (we thought we could use the ones we had but they were the wrong size) and had no issues. Definitely recommend this place!

“I don’t want to get out of this awesome bed!”....is what my husband has said to me every morning since we purchased our mattress two weeks ago. Urban Mattress is simply the BEST mattress buying experience. If this sounds like a fake review because I’m so effusive with my praise, I assure you it’s not. Our experience was just that good. We first shopped around at all the big name mattress retailers and felt like we were being sold a used car — so much pressure and lack of transparency on pricing. No latex options. No ability to return a mattress if you don’t sleep well on it at home. Ugh. Then we purchased one of the highly rated online mattresses (Zenhaven) that had a sleep trial policy, only to return it a month later because it was too thin and mushy. Not worth the lower price. Then we went to Urban Mattress. Nathaniel, the owner, is hands down the most helpful, honest, genuine, low-key salesperson I’ve ever met. No pressure. No BS. Just the most comfortable mattresses I’ve ever laid on. Ever. The store has Tempurpedics and high end innerspring mattress from a British company called Vispring. But what we really loved were their own Urban Mattress brand offerings. We previously had a Tempur-Pedic — great for one’s back and shoulders while sleeping, but the deep sink of memory foam makes it difficult to easily turn in your sleep or fool around. We were sorta looking for the unicorn of beds — a high quality (but affordable) mattress that had what we liked about memory foam (the supportive hugging feeling) while having more rebound like a tradition inner spring or latex mattress, no mechanical parts / air pumps (like sleepnumber), and a sleep trial policy so we could try it at home. Nathaniel had us lay on several mattresses and then, based on our feedback, pointed us toward the “Wonder” mattress....pure Talalay medium firm latex, topped with a layer of dense memory foam, finished off with a plush topper. The bed is built specifically for Urban Mattress at their factory in Colorado. This was the first time my husband and I ever lay on a mattress and immediately both said “aaaaaaaahhhhhhh” out loud. It is somehow hugging without sinking, supportive yet plush. The price was good. Not cheap mind you — you cannot get a high quality mattress with these materials for cheap — but absolutely fair and worth every penny. My husband and I are both health practitioners and know that the latest sleep science has shown sleep quality impacts everything from stress levels to weight maintenance to cancer risk. Spend the money on a great mattress...it is literally an investment in your health. We bought the Wonder a few weeks ago....and it is everything we hoped it would be. As an extra plus, the delivery team was on time, careful and efficient. Urban Mattress was an A+ experience from start to finish. I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends, family, or my patients.

I was lucky to come across Urban Mattress. The customer service was great, Nathaniel was personable and very knowlegable. And to top it off the mattresses were extremly comfortable, I had a hard time deciding which one I liked best. I was excited to learn that they are eco-friendly and that the company takes your old matress and either recycles them or donates them to a shelter. I cant wait for my new mattress to arrive! One of the only local DC metro area stores recommended by the folk on the Mattress Underground website, which is where i learned about this store. Having struggled to find a mattress for months (and going through several with no luck) I was thrilled to find a local store that carried high quality mattresses made with quality materials from lesser known manufacturers (no Simmons, Sealy, etc. here (which is exactly what you want)). I was impressed by the selection Urban Mattress had as they seemed to have a mattress for every budget (including a crazy $40,000 dollar VI Spring Mattress). The biggest sell on Urban Mattress is an awesome exchange policy, which I have learned over these last few arduous months is one of the most important things. Its hard to tell if you like a mattress in the store so anyone that offers free delivery/pickup and a 30 night exchange period with no questions asked is in a league of their own. When we went to the store we worked with the owner, Nathaniel, who was a pleasure to work with and really knew his stuff. We settled on the BioTemp Retreat Luxury Firm mattress, which we have recently received and have been enjoying so far. I should also mention they were able to deliver the mattress the very next day (with no delivery fee at all). We needed something quickly so the fact they could deliver in less than 24 hours was amazing.My advice: skip the big name stores that sell you mattresses from manufactures that dont disclose the materials they use (because they are crap materials) and head to Urban Mattress for high quality mattresses. I would also not recommend buying something via the internet, which is a failed experiment on my end. Not only is it a huge pain to put a mattress together but the return shipping is a nightmare. I only wish I had found this place months ago.

My fiancé and I were specifically looking for locally-owned mattress stores in the northern virginia area and came across Urban Mattress, which had great reviews on all of the local sites (yelp, google) and mattress underground. I also really wanted a latex mattress because latex is more environmentally-friendly (although frequently more expensive). I did my homework before going to any stores, and found Nathaniel, the owner of Urban Mattress, to be incredibly honest, and easy to work with. The 100% talalay (highest quality latex) mattresses were all comfortable and affordable, but Nathaniel suggested my fiancé and I try out a talalay/soy foam mattress that was less expensive, which we ultimately bought and are incredibly happy with! We also love the two pillows we bought, the free local shipping, and the 2% of sales donated to a local charity. Urban Mattress was a great find!
