Some of there employees have a bad attitude specially the lady who always a cashier she dont have manners to her customer she was yelling and whispering just to say bad to her customer. There’s alot of boba place why I would came back to this place if there employee have no respect to there costomer 😏

Ordered multiple popcorn chickens for my friends and I today after school but felt very disappointed if I’m being honest. Cashier lady turned around and complained to her coworkers in mandarin right after I ordered, thinking I couldn’t understand her, and said, “These students are so annoying*, they don’t even know how to order,” (*way ruder term). Honestly I don’t mind if she thinks I didn’t speak clearly enough, she just had to tell me and I could repeat what I said. But because she claimed I was annoying* it did ruin my visit today and my past experiences as a whole.

Oh mang! It has been 19 yrs since weve been going here!This is the best tap ex in the area or perhaps the Yay area....and is one of the spots we go to when in the East Bay. Food and drinks are on point!! 😋😍Pretty cool now that they have a mini arcade/claw machines.

Went here after dinner at Sama Uyghur next door - highly recommend Sama!Pretty standard boba shop. Long line at 10 pm but it moved and wasn’t long after we ordered - maybe just poor timing for us. Good amount of seating. We ended up splitting the mango ice cream (they were out of sesame). Forget the name, but it was about #270 on the menu! I couldn’t believe how long the menu was.The ice cream was even better than we expected - tasted like real mango. We also had mango cubes, pudding, and little jellies. But I was just impressed with the ice cream.We sat outside backyard it was noisy inside. Outside was chilly and a lot of people kept driving up in noisy, supped up cars. It was kinda fun to watch the people just hanging out with their cars.Overall, pretty much what I expected. Ice cream very good, seating and environment just average. Bonus points for being the only place open so late (we even tried to get cones and sit in Burger King, but they close at 10!). Tapioca Express was open til 1, they were still busy when we left at midnight (Saturday night).

One of my favorite boba shops of all time. There is also a gachapon place connected to this place next door. Love the variety of Japanese goods in the machine. Highly recommend you come check this place out if you are in the area.

The prices are low, the drink variety is high, and the quality and taste of drinks and food is good. The only downside is its cash or debit, no credit cards. Additionally, debit cards have a $1 surcharge.I got popcorn fish since Im a fan of popcorn chicken. It was good.

Always a bit rude when you order, weirdly set up for covid. They removed the game room entirely and it appears as though they have never cleaned that giant fish tank... please clean it for them 😔 other than that I love my snow bubbles with no Boba

Theres a lot of drinks and appetizers to choose from. The popcorn chicken level 5 spice is the way to go. Make sure you pick up a nice drink to cool your tongue.

I wish I could say the food was super good, but I never had a chance to try it. When I ordered my tea, I tried to add something they had called exploding boba. The lady punched it in, and I was trying to tell her the flavour of boba I wanted because there are three flavours. I started to think it was a different drink or something, but she kept trying to give me another drink in that flavour instead of the boba. She was incredibly rude and got visibly angry with me very fast. I ended up getting a plain tea. The next lady wanted boba in hers, and kept repeating it into the microphone, over and over, but the cashier ignored her (or the speaker happened to just stop working...?)When given my drink, the cashier was still incredibly rude, so I didn’t want to go back in out of fear I would get something I didn’t want because this lady has horrible customer service skills.

I have been coming to this place for so many years but Im guessing that now that we are in quarantine they cant afford many of their employees so the owners are the ones at the front. Sadly to say that their service is horrendous, they talk down to the customers for no reason. They dont know how to communicate well and end up insulting the customer. I will never come back, the guy that spoke in an insulting way to me is so lucky that I had patience at that moment because naturally I would have gave him a lecture on how to be a decent human being. 🙃

I have been coming to this place since 2001 and this is the best Tapioca Express in the Bay Area. My go to is Combo A with a number 3 chicken.

I love the drinks!!! My favorite midnight treat or summer treat. The lines sometimes can be long, typically I found it more at night, but it’s worth the wait.

BE CAREFUL OF THIS PLACE.Apparently first you cant order with your party next to you even when youre in same household, so it makes ordering 10x harder. But the hardest part is they cant hear what youre trying to order and blame it on you as even my girlfriend was trying to yell out her order, they couldnt understand her. And as we were looking over her receipt after she ordered, they yelled at us to social distance. Like firsthand, we are in the same household, and second, we were trying to discuss the order they had messed up. How can we do that if we are too far apart? Also, I had came back in to tell them they messed up our order and they had the audacity to tell me that my girlfriend had ordered that wrong item, when I was standing semi-nearby, 6 ft apart, and explicitly heard her say she wanted right item.I mean, their customer service has always been not the best, but this is just plain frustrating, especially when you cant even get the item you want :/ and they blame it on you.

Been coming to this place for like 10 years. The drinks tend to be pretty sweet here so I always ask for less sugar and to me it tastes better that way. Sometimes the line can get pretty long, particularly Friday and Saturday night. Parking is usually easy to find.

Milk tea/slushes/drinks and food are really yummy! They also have pretty fast service. Only thing is could be much friendlier service but alas, the food and milk teas make up for it.Also, be prepared on busy times to be in a line out the door as many come here to hang out after work and school.MAKE SURE TO BRING CASH since they charge for using debit and I believe theres a minimum to that too.

Best Tapioca Express location out of their chain. Their spicy chic and reg milk tea is the best here. Lines can be long but dont feel deterred. Lines go fairly quickly.

The food is good. But the lady (cashier ) with short hair has very unpleasant attitude when she service customers. She looks like I owe her money (rude ). I highly recommend the owner replace her with other nice ladies.She doesnt know what is customer service and doesnt know how to smile

This is one of my all time favourite places. They have one of the best fried chicken(popcorn chicken) and popcorn fish I have tried in the baybarea!!Also in the evenings on Fridays/weekends this spot doubles as the hangout spot for local car enthusiasts. They are all well behaved so no revving to be found here, which is a good thing.

My hands down favorite tapioca spot. Been going here since 2007 and never had a disappointing trip. Highly recommend the popcorn fish/chicken snacks and the caramel snow bubble.

Its also a popular hangout for the locals, and school children.Pros: FREE Parking; Open late into the evenings; foods and drinks are consistent in taste and flavor; seating outside and inside; lots of choices for drinks and foods; prices are very reasonable; orders come out hot and fresh; if you like spicy foods - try the level 5 Chi-chi Fries (start with level 1 and move up to make sure you can handle it)Cons: Close parking spaces are hard to find; very busy and long waits most of the time to order and to pickup order; very small store, so it is noisy, confined, and lines often go out the door; extra $1 charge if you want to use your card; if you are diabetic or cannot handle spicy foods, be careful what you order; They open late (near lunch)My youngest loves this place, but I cant handle the sugars anymore. Cool sweet drink on a hot summer day! I come here to order my favorite cold milk tea with boba. They come in a nice clean no spill package I like, guaranteed not to spill on my car. Plenty of 30 min parking spots so you can come and go with your take out. Be patient though this popular place has a long line during peak hours. Must try!

Great spot to get boba. The cashier lady seems rude every time I go. (Magically I always get the same one) She never smiles or acknowledges you. First time I said thank you to her, she said nothing with a straight face. Every time I go there now, I just state my order, grab my change, and walk away. I always get different flavored milk tea and they never disappoint me. I love the calamari here and crispy chicken, this is literally the best tapioca boba place ever! From the other reviews that Ive seen I just want to make sure everything that theyre saying are all true. They accept card not just cash, they have a fast service and hella good drinks and food. I definitely recommend this place for a quick bite to eat and a refreshing drink!! I always get the spicy Thai basil chicken level 5. It’s dpi but not too spicy, just right!! I also get the mango/peach icy with lychee jelly it’s very refreshing and you should definitely try both! This place is honestly one of my favorite spots to come get my boba and the best spicy Thai chicken basil. Best time to get it is during lunch time on a hot day or any day for that matter!

Boba done right, every time! Have been coming here for over 10 years because the boba is never hard, always soft. Even though we moved out of the area, we still drive for miles to come back because it is so consistent and we love the fried mushrooms, #3 spicy. Try it, youll love sucking on their supple balls.

Very arrogant customer service. I asked why I was getting charged an extra dollar for a debit/credit card transaction. The cashier lady responded, Im telling you this because is what Im supposed to tell you. She said it in an upset tone of voice. I believe is how you say things, and not necessarily what you say. Not friendly. Plus a 25% extra charge (debit) over the price of a tapioca drink is too much. Also, the drinks have a sugar overkill. I will never go there again.

My experience at Tapioca Express was very umpleasant.My daughters asked if they could stop off and get some of their chicken. As an Afican American family, my youngest daughter went into the place of business with a MasterCard Gift card to purchases 2 small oders of chicken.The lady behind the counter taking the order RUDELY said to my daughter they dont take them cards but she also had cash money.My daughter came back out to the car and told me what happen. I politely when back into Tapioca Express. I waited patiently until she (the lady taking to order to finish completing the order before us). Once she was finish waiting on the other customers, she immedialtly began taking plastic bags out of a large box and I said I would like to order and this lady told me I had to wait. Mind you, I had been waiting for 15 minutes just order. I asked again, I would like to order. I was told once again I needed to wait. I wait with disbelieveOnce she was ready after waiting for so long, we were finally asked if she could take our order. I politely told her never mind and walk out of Tapioca Express to NEVER return there AGAIN.Ive been in this Community for over 25 years and this is one of the first time my family had to experiences this type of behavior from a place of Establishment

Recently I visit one of the Tapioca Express in Union City. The food over there is ok, but not the service. There is a lady name Cindy who took my order. I order a Eel Bento with a green tea and eat over there. She asked me spicy or not? That seems a strange question for Eel Bento. I am not ordering Popcorn Chicken something like that. The next question she ask me was what size for the drink? I don’t know what size they have, so I asked what size come with it. She didn’t say anything just point her pen to the sample cups. There are two of it and I need to make a guess what size it should come with the meal. I can tell by her face that she is not friendly no smile at all and the voice not nice. Finally pass all the questions test and sat down wait for my order. When my order is ready she call out a table number instead of the ticket number. I almost missed my order. When I go there to pick it up I only saw my Bento is on the counter. I wait a bit until she look at me. I said I didn’t get my drink. She replied because she didn’t see me, then she started bring out my drink from behind the counter. If because I didn’t show up right away, why not hide everything but just the drink or why hide the drink not the Bento? I think this is an excuse because she forgot. I normally eat with the fork and not chopsticks, so I ask for a fork. She ask me back said “you don’t eat with chopsticks?”.Well, what kind of question is that? If I eat with chopsticks, I wouldn’t ask for a fork. Anyway anyone don’t like being get challenge, don’t come here. The End!

Ive been their customers since their grand opening over 10+ years ago. Best authentic Taiwanese fishcake (甜不辣), popcorn chicken with basil salt-n-peper, crispy hot juicy meaty chicken fillet that will fulfill your daily protein demand, aldente calamari tentacles… Bobas always fresh and pre-soaked in sugar syrup, soft and tenderly chewy. I order all my boba drinks with 1/4-1/2 sweetness and less ice as personal preference. Awsome mango snow shave ice rivels even some overseas Taiwanese places (but still cant beat juicy Taiwanese Aiwen mangos locally grown there). Tis the only place I go for Taiwanese boba drink and street eats.Keep up the great job TapEx, and please continue to update your menu to sync with the current Taiwanese fads! (Hint: dark brown sugar syrup laced in dark sugar bobas in whole fresh creamed milk!)Yes, be ready for lines and wait.Cant comment much on front line service as I try to come on non-peak times and just order to go (to avoid secondhand smoke and the lines thats stressing out the young staff). Advice: decide what you want while waiting in line and to avoid holding up the line, customize your drink (1/2 sugar, less ice etc), pay in cash, and just grab and enjoy the food!

It is a top favorite spot to come to when I cine to the bay area. This location uses fresh basil unlike the location in San Leandro.

As far as bubble tea and snacks go, TapEx is what you might call run of the mill. Neither spectacular nor mediocre, its the McDonalds of pearl milk tea.

Had the Kiwi icey with boba, was so good, going back tomorrow
