Great service and location! The flavor combination of the Rick Ross was excellent and the Mclovin had some spicy aioli kick to match the heaping portion of cheese and sausage. Cant wait to come back and try the others. You can buy half gallon jugs of drinks to go if you love the flavors. You can also adjust the sweetness for drinks as well. This seems to be a local favorite in the east bay.

A quaint coffee shop located downtown. They have uniquely named menu items that pack a tasty punch! I got the Yonce coffee and McLovin sandwich. I typically dont like Chipotle sauce, but theirs was tasty and the sandwich was great (just look at that cheese)! Yonce is delicious with a light sweet caramel flavor. The shop itself is decorated with cute furniture giving it an at-home feeling. Ill be back to try more!

The coffee was delicious way better than I what I expected. I must admit I dont like trying new coffee places but this place was a hit. Both my husband and I regretted not getting a large. Ice loves coco and sorta kinda latte 😋

I love hippies brew from the first time I went to try it. It has a chill atmosphere inside the cafe shop and delicious coffee. The workers are very kind. The menu is not complicated and very simple to choose from with cool familiar names. I reccomend Ice luvs coco or rick ross. Definitely try the cinnamon toast! It is always a treat to go to Hippies brew!

Fancy coffee combinations but the cold ones are more on sweet side and less espresso taste. The coffee shop overall has a pretty hippie cool kinda vibe. No wifi. Staff is really nice.

We got two cold-brews and a boba drink. Everything was delicious, should have gotten large instead of medium sizes. We were able to substitute almond milk so it satisfied the dairy-free needs of one of us. Definitely plan on coming regularly - so happy to support a small local business instead of a mass corporation that gets many of our coffee dollars.

Where do I even start... This place is definitely for coffee lovers! And is a must try! I have never been to a coffee cafe that really welcomes you into the store. The staff here are amazing! The vibes and energy you get here are one of a kind. Hippies Brew has two location which is the one in Union City on Smith Street and the other is in Hayward in the Hayward Library on C street. They use to have a location on foothill years ago which is why some people maybe confused about the location in Hayward, but I am so glad that they came back and are bigger than ever! My go to coffee is the Rick Ross which is cinnamon vanilla sweet cream cold brew with cocoa powder and it is sooooo amazing. Because we are living in the pandemic at the moment and some people want to get coffee, but dont want to take the risk of being exposed by getting it everyday (no worries Hippies got your back!) they sell baby gallons, half a gallons, and gallons for certain drinks! They also have a preorder website and walk ins to buy on the spot. Literally my happy place! Take my word and try you wont regret it!!

Employees seem pretty groovy. However, if you like a simple coffee experience i would look elsewhere. Study the menu before arriving. I also suggest asking for half the regular sweetness. $5.50 is pretty steep for me for a cup of coffee.

Staff is very nice, but I dont care for their food, nor do I like their coffee. Right now theres no drink menu, and hence, no pricing visible. So I was a little surprised when my small hot chocolate cost $5.50. FIVE DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS FOR SOME MILK AND CHOCOLATE SYRUP. Nice to have a coffee shop in the neighborhood and I wish them the best, but Ill go elsewhere.

This place definitely tries its best to have customers social distance. There are markers on the floor, telling you where to stand. There’s a menu on the outside of the front door.True they only offer cold brews right now, but it’s still pretty worth it. I spent $11 for two medium cold brews and I’d probably spend the same at Starbucks anyways.

3 days ago I had ordered through Door dash and the food was excellent. Somehow I didnt get the drink that I ordered. But today...the food sucked. There were extras missing and its like everything was just thrown into little bags. I averaged my star rating to 2 stars. If I were to base it on todays food you would have 0 stars. Such a disappointment. I threw the food away.

Customer service a little rude, did not explain which drink is best, or what to recommend, that little girl w/green hair dye needs to be a little nicer to customers or give out nicer vibe, not no annoying vibe, especially for customers who is new to coming to Hippie Brew. Though I was familiar with the a in Hayward, cause of my boys. With the drink, its mediocre, food is ok, just like any coffee shop with weird names and lingo. This place is just gonna be another hype spot for younger kids. Would I come back to this place, no. Kind of got annoyed with the first impression of the shop.

I went to Hippies Brew for the first time today. The 2 stars are for the coffee alone (Rick Ross), which was excellent. However, the inside of the shop was unorganized and frankly, unnerving. No one was distancing from others and though the shop had a huge empty space to the right, people kept waiting for their orders on the left side. When in line to order, it was impossible to have any distance as people exited. This shop has double doors but only one door was open. Staff seemed to be in double digits but they didnt bother to give customers direction on where to stand. The music was incredibly loud so one couldnt even stand outside to wait for his/her order because the name would be impossible to hear. I wont return on a Saturday again...Ill try a weekday next and hopefully that means fewer people inside.

Watsup all you Hippies!!! This place was just another coffee shop before turning into a Hippies Brew, and let me tell you how happy I have been since. They really do their best in keeping people social distancing. Staff is great. Theyvare very welcoming and gets your drinks out quickly. They dont have as big of a menu, but thats what makes them stand out and good. I have only had their breakfast sandwich, but its really good. You can have your choice of meat between pork or turkey sausage as well. The sauce is great and I love that they use a great string pull cheddar cheese.Overall, if you are tired of the same old coffee that you normally get or make every day and want a great coffee treat, I really do recommend this place.

Horrible online order experience. Worker cancelled our online order, and didnt notify us that it was cancelled. Drove 20 minutes to this location, ordered online using Doordash, parked outside until the timeframe when the order was done, walked inside, and worker said he cancelled the order because they didnt have mint. He didnt apologize, and didnt go out of his way at all to show any type of remorse. Bad customer service. We will not be recommending this place at all to anyone. Well continue to bring up this story whenever anyone asks about this business. Take your business elsewhere if youre considering this place. Dont support this place since they obviously dont care about the customers.

I loveee the coffe here and breakfast also. Right now they are only doing cold brews (thanks covid) my favorite is the rick ross or the yonce. But I cant wait until they start doing hot drinks again. Peppermint patty and iced mint drip are my absolute 2 favorites. For the foods my hubby loves freakin french toast. Staff is ALWAYS super friendly at both Union city and Hayward locations.

My sister introduced me to Hippies Brew at their old location on foothill years ago and they’re definitely still a staple in my house. Staff is always friendly, drinks and food are on point( Rick Ross is my go to) and plenty of parking. I was not a coffee person at all but I’ve converted thanks to them. I also love love that this is a Black/ Latina owned business🙌🏼

Great spot for coffee lovers, drinks are worth it for the prices. They also have delish, really bomb french toast and a high quality version of the McLovin.Really enjoyed the Yonce and Rick Ross drips from here and would highly recommend. Can’t find better coffee anywhere else in Union City or the general Tri-City area. However, their boba, specifically the Pepe Le Pew threw me off. While the pearls are amazing, the lychee syrup in the drink does not go well with their coco sweet cream. Instead of enjoying a refreshing fruity taste that you would typically associate with lychee, it tastes like a weird sweet, yet slightly bitter concoction.
