Every time I call, I get transferred at least 3 times. They take forever when they work on cars. Sometimes different people have given me different answers that are opposite for the same inquiry. Their warranties are a gimmick. I much prefer supporting smaller business mechanics. I also have had better experiences with dealerships in other towns.

Does a CV joint repair usually cost 1500$ or are they trying to pull insurance scam? I had one guy quote me a couple hundred bucks turned into 1500 and they want me to file it under an insurance claim. Also, quoted me 2000$ for a simple wiring harness replacement in the past. I thought that was absurdly high so I choose to wait. Brought it back in and the new quote for the wiring harness is 4000$!!!!Follow up edit: axels automotive fixed the cv joint for 200$. Do not go to thurston it is a scam.

Very upset with this company. ZERO 0 STARS!!! Went to buy new vehicle here. Met Mark my salesman. Asked to get a price on my vehicle for a trade in. At the end I didn’t agree to the proposed deal for the vehicle in prospect. Later that evening after returning an hour plus travel to my home I found they had loosened my oil plug and there was oil front the oil plug back, splashed all over the bottom side of my vehicle. I guess this is what you get from a company that takes the time to make fun of another customers review and the minor spelling error they made just to tease the poor person. That review is on the BBB if your interested. They spelled shady, shoddy if you look for it (there are only 3 reviews). If I had the power they would be terminated as a business, and as to my car they have a police report written up on them. Keep it up at Thurston and you will be encountering legal actions.

Bought a truck there today and had a little surprise: the truck was a rental unit which I was only informed about after signing. Make sure you check before signing! Sales experience with one sales person (Eric) was really good. Clean offices taking covid measures seriously.,

I had a recall on my truck and scheduled a service to get that fixed. I asked about a approximate time so I had an idea of what day would work best. I was told it would take about two hours. I explained that I had just bought the truck and Octavio from financing had promised me a detail because the truck was filthy when I bought it and the the guys had left by the time I was leaving. So I drove from Clearlake and when I arrived the first thing I asked was about the detailing when they were reviewing my service order. They said they needed to confirm that with the finance dept but it shouldnt be a problem. They didnt open until 9 so it would be about another hour. I went into the waiting area where a employee came in and informed me that they wouldnt be working on my truck for 2 hours because it was driven from clearlake and it needed to cool down first. I asked why they didnt tell me that when I scheduled it and he told me sorry, they normally do. So Im waiting in the lobby for two more hours when I ask if they spoken to the finance dept ...oppps they forgot. My truck was still sitting in the bay untouched at 1012 am. Rather than sit around I ask about how much longer until they can work on my truck and then its going to be about two more hours and they said its next. I ask for a shuttle to Verizon and the gentleman say of course. He then walked past me and asked if anyone else would like a ride and where were they going. A woman who was unmasked and coughing stood up and said that she did. I discreetly stated that I prefer not to ride with a stranger that seemed sick. The staff driver loudly stated what are you worried about you have your mask right? then proceeded to engage the other customer and leave. I was embarrassed and my feelings were hurt. I went to the service dept and spoke to the same manager and explained my situation. I was mortified and clearly not happy with the lack of screening, safety precautions, and clear disregard for the pandemic. I called a cab company and asked the manager to call me when my truck was done and left. I called them after 2 more hours to get a update and was told about thirty more minutes. I called a cab and when I got back I waited until almost 130 pm because they were going to detail it. I sat outside waiting and when they parked my truck I left because I knew if I went back inside to deal with the worst wash job ever I would unleash my disappointment. They didnt wash it completely, it was wet and dirty on the outside, they didnt clean the inside that had dust still on the dash and dashboard but they helped themselves to the hand sanitizer that had grease smudges on the pump. The worst of it is they do not care.

Always a patron of this business and even though some of the guys at the parts department are great, I have to say that at the Service department I am disappointed with them. Simply put Ive given them a few chance and today it was proven that its a mistake to take a vehicle to them.

I brought my truck in for warranty issues. I repeated multiple times that it was all warranty issues. The warranty was not honored and I was charged $145 for someone to drive my truck and say”yep, transmission not working properly.”I have a $200 deductible. I was charged $145. Mike Pappas told me that I would have to talk to the warranty company to resolve it, that he would not apply the $145 to the deductible once we figure out warranty. I should have been charged the deductible one time to fix warranty issues.

On top of terrible customer service this dealership is blatantly disregarding health and safety guidelines.Employees are not wearing masks inside of building. And if they put one on its only for appearance of safety when a customer comes to talk to them.Already a terrible experience made worse by lack of consideration and care for public health.Clearly Thurston is under poor management that disproportionately benefits from being the only dealership for miles.Will be taking my business elsewhere.

I came here to buy a car and I was rejected by these people. They had told me that my bank rejected my car loan. When I went the bank personal; to complete pay off my loan for my previous car. The bank informed me that they were never contacted about the loan. So I decided to by car at dealership in SF and I got a loan directly through my bank.I guess they don’t sell cars to black people.That’s ok, California is dry state. If the car lot catches fire, no one would bat an eye lash.Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

Hare Krishna. A very bad experience with the Tim Johnson (sales) and Tim Jason (one of the owners?).I wanted to purchase a GS450h. I asked them the lowest price they are willing to sell it for. Mind you I had conversed with them before via text message then I called to complain about my experience.I got a very rude and unprofessional reply via text message from Tim Johnson.Then I called to speak to the owners the sales manager lied saying he is hardly in..anyways I think the owner picked up (?) and started giving me a lecture if you dont like the car get lost.They claim to be a dealership but they cannot treat potential customers or have a decent etiquette on how to make a sale. They are trying to run a business ?The owner was completely rude over the phone. I can post the whole conversation and you can decide was it proper or not.I asked the so called owner how old just to see if he would respond, he didnt reply, he asked me how old I am. I told him 35. He told me I am old enough to be your father. WFT?Completely avoid these dealership. Go somewhere else. They wont be in business long. They will be finished soon. While I have only interacted with one sales person there - I was horribly turned off. I enjoy cars, working with sales people (weird I know), and the general process of buying a new car. I pride myself that I dont approach a sales person with disdain, or expectations of what cannot happen - and usually in return I have a fun conversation and a sales person interested in helping me out while I dont try to expect 50% off a new car. However, I interacted with a sales individual here this past weekend that absolutely horrified me. They were so desperately hungry to UP SALE me I was quoted numbers that had a 20k deficit, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and explain it - and again was quoted a price 20k above the sticker price of the vehicle. After stating, strongly, I was going to take off - they began to talk to me about the options of leasing. Again, benefit of the doubt, Ive never looked into a lease or considered one - and dont know much about them. I allowed them to give the pitch, and asked All things in life have a positive and negative... what is the downside in comparison to financing? The sales person continued to make the point that A. There is NOTHING (I asked twice to make sure I wasnt assuming) wrong with a lease, B. It is the BEST option (so why didnt we lead with that? and C. I should do it this second.Anyways, long story short, very disappointing that I come in level headed, happy, ready to buy, and excited for the process - but I left after a salesperson tried to up-sale me and push THEIR desire THEIR sale THEIR needs. So I bought one in Santa Rosa and it was awesome :)

Superb service. I especially appreciate Rod Cavanaughs help with navigating my insurance claim. I drove 193 miles in order to have them do the work because I had them work on my car once before, both times during cross-country travels, both times rodent damage. So this is my 4th experience with Thurston Toyota service center, twice with my Tundra, once with my wifes Sienna, and once with our grocery-getter (Matrix). I can honestly saw the Matty and no Mike, the service writers who have helped me, have done a stellar job and getting me in, getting the vehicles into the shop, and then keeping me UpToDate on the repairs and very flexible about pick up and drop offs of the vehicles. I wish I knew the service techs that have performed the repairs, but you know how it is; at a dealership the service writer is the face of the department. The services rendered on my vehicles have been great, and the immense flexibility that they have shown me due to the distance from my home to the dealership has been a great time-saver! I never thought Id buy my next car from a dealership, but the service has me very seriously considering that exact scenario with Thurston. The Thurston administration should seriously consider that department as a superior example of how one department can win over the confidence of a consumer to the point of his consideration of changing his purchasing tendencies and putting faith into the rest of the organization. I will follow this up in the future with my experiences- guaranteed!

Called last week to have my 2017 Tundra serviced: it needs the 10,000 mile maintenance. Was told it would be a 3 week wait so I asked if they do walk-ins. Yes they do. Got there this morning at 9:45am and was told it would be done by 5pm. I said ok. The guy at the desk takes my keys, gets my phone number, and says theyll call when its done. He walks away and Im left standing there until 5pm apparently. No shuttle and if there is, I was never offered it. I LOATHE Thurston. I wish there was another dealership close by. Makes it completely not worth it to buy extended warranties or even use the regular services covered by it. Also, all these people giving them 5 stars work or are friends with people that work there. Bunch of B.S.Edit 8/5/19Called trying to set up an appointment for scheduled maintenance. Was put on hold for 5+ minutes and never got to schedule it. Guess Ill try again on my lunch. Wish it was different but why change when you have captive customers due to the distance of the other nearest dealership?

I had the worst experience with Mike the service advisor on the Toyota side! He was rude and seemed like he had better things to do since he was glued to his phone and practically chased me away! Thurston has gone down hill lately. I hope they get some better employees in there that actually appreciate the customer! Pretty sad that I have to go somewhere else now. I’ll not be coming back because of mike. I’m not the only one with these concerns I’ve heard from at least 3 other customers with the same experience when dealing with mike. Crooks is what they are. Purchased a new vehicle that was on sale but they refused to honor advertised price. In addition they added bogus charges and fees to purchase price costing me over 4000. Refused to accept my outside financing and charged me for options specifically declined and they did not do anyways.

Words cant even explain how appreciative I am. This will be the second time in my books that Trevor Thurston and his crew have saved me from a severely upside down vehicle situation, when other dealerships could not. I will never buy a used vehicle from a small car lot ever again. My brand new Tundra will get me to and from all my dirtbike races comfortably, and family camping trips wont be a crammed mess! My bike will fit in the back without the tailgate being down yay! Ill get to take my kids to the snow this winter to get a Christmas tree and not have to worry about getting stuck cuz I now own a 4WD yay!! Trevor and his crew worked miracles for me, once again! They are professional, courteous, very efficient, extremely knowledgeable and capable of bringing you out of a hopeless state of misery in your current vehicle situation. Sold me a car without smogging it though I was told it was. They did take care of the smog by dropping off another car for me to use for the day since I live 2 hrs away & had to work. They were hesitant to reimburse my gas money for the 2 hr drive & extra miles put on. Also found missing bolts under the hood of my car 😠

Replaced recall airbags at Thurston Toyota and got 30k milage service done at same time. Tires missing stem caps, contents within glove box were crushed. When talking to service desk airbags would be done before noon (as I had plans later) and was assured that they could easily fit the service in to get out at that time. Rep from desk and service tech took lunches and didnt notify me that they had issues until I called past 1pm. Service was hardly explained and had two price levels. Higher cost was explained as injector cleaning and normal service and the lower cost was explained to do almost all of what the higher would do. I went with the lower cost and figured that even a basic service would include changing air filters. I should have asked but still received a call about wanting 60 dollars for filters and 345 dollars for brakes (still had some mileage left on them but could be considered low). Save your money on service charges. Go to a local shop.

I was called to Ukiah CA to assist with the Moose Fire. We arrived and started to assist CalFire as much as we were allowed to. During our engagement with the fire our new 2019 Chevrolet 2500 Type 7 Fire Engine failed to complete a exhaust burn.Eventually the computer recognized this failure as a problem and put our engine into what is referred to as limp mode. This mode overrides control and only allows the truck to move at speeds around 25 to 35 mph. This compromised my crew and I in regards to safety. I reported the trouble and took the engine to the nearest Chevrolet dealorship.Unfortunately this turned out to be the Thurston Auto plaza. As I waited out front for them to open I noticed several people moving around inside. even though it was an engine part right at the service door none of them made any moves to open the door or to see what we needed. I remember thinking this was odd.an hour later when they did open at 9 I went in and talk to the man in charge. He had come down to the service department in anticipation of our service call.The man in charge, and I wish I would have got his name. I didnt however. Immediately informed me that it would be at least two weeks before he could even see my vehicle. I told him that we were here to assist with the fire and we couldnt help the way the truck was. Said he was sorry and even though it was an emergency vehicle he couldnt help us. Event directed us to the Ken Fowler dealership. I remember feeling stunned, here was the Chevrolet dealership turning down their own truck, which was there only to assist local fire departments, and sending us to a Subaru dealership.As I entered the Ken Fowler dealership my confidence in Californians support was definitely starting to waver. However I couldnt have been more wrong. As I approached the service department a gentleman I believe was Ken Fowler came over to listen. when the service manager informed me that it would be at least a week before they could get me in as they were booked solid, Mr. Fowler immediately stepped in and corrected him. Saying that they would see me right now and fix the truck, ASAP. This was the best news Ive had all week is this and put us back in the fight. Why we made the long trip down to begin with. He personally went and got a computer came over and diagnose my truck and somehow fixed it. We were back on shift in no time.Even though it was our final shift and we were relieved and demobilzed at the end of the day I couldnt have more respect for Ken Fowlers dealership. The fact that they stepped up worked on a Chevrolet when the local Chevy dealorship wouldnt. Wow! Putting themselves in a worse time crunch with their customers. Still keeping their eyes what was important. Protecting local homeowners and landowners from what could have been another catastrophic wildfire. If I am ever in Ukiah and shopping for a car theres no doubt in my mind Ill be going to Ken Fowlers dealership. If I was a local citizen I would as well. Thanks Ken Fowlers Subaru!

Lol told me to get a bunch paper work together and needed 3k down was already trading in 2 cars kbb 5500 and 9000$ thay where gonna give 3k total. One is a 2009 low miles Subaru.then I saved the down payment drove to my bosses got letters ect.to take off work to find out management had changed and thay would not sell to me with my credit and all that put me through that would not sell me a 17000 car when I was literally giving 14k in trade in + 3k cash I went straight to Hansel trades I n one car the 6500 one thay gave me 5000$ value and took 500$ down.on a 28000 Subaru.never go to these people.

If you plan on getting work done on your vehicle here DON’T. If I could give zero stars I would. Took it in for stability control sensor going off. Spent thousands and the problem was not fixed. Just took my car to another shop and they said the rear shocks were bad, supposedly had been done. So we go in to Thurson to figure out about a warranty and apparently they never put the shocks in that we payed for, nor did they contact us to let us know of their mistake!!! They claimed to have left a message! What a joke!

Called 3 times for an oil change, lube shop never answered the phone...Drove over from lakeport. At 3:30 arrived at Thurstons. Nope not gonna happen the guys behind the desk says. Its a scheduled maintainsence I say. Make an appointment he says.. I called 3 time no answer. To bad. Terrible service in the oil lube shop. I called to ask about our complimentary oil changes, or if we get them at all since we were coming up on our first oil change for our new Highlander, and whoever the female employee was that answered the phone was extremely rude and very short with me. If you are in a bad mood or dont feel like answering the phone, then dont!! She did not need to be rude to me as a customer, even if she thought my question was stupid! I would rather pay for an oil change at Les Schwab where they treat me kindly, then deal with some of the people I have had to at Thurston. They tried to charge me two hours of labor for my car diagnosis but still didnt find the problem. They said because the computer in my car wasnt telling them what was wrong, they couldnt help. They did knock off an hour of the labor charge when I complained but still didnt diagnose the problem. Its the only Toyota location near Ukiah so unfortunately your choices are limited unless you drive down to Santa Rosa. Ugg.. I took it to Big O Tires in Clearlake and they couldnt find the problem either but they also didnt charge me a dime! Now thats customer service.

The absolute worst. The tow truck driver bent my tie rod on the tow in. Thurston fixed a couple of recall issues. When i went to drive the car home i noticed the alignment was very far out. I returned to the dealership and had their service rep. (Rod Cavanaugh) drive the car around the dealership with me in it. He informed me it was safe to drive home as is. It certainly was not. The left side of all 4 of my tires was worn down to the point of metal poking out by the time i got home to ft bragg. So i had to replace all 4 of those tires (adieu, $400!). Thurston was unaplogetic and never reimbursed me a dime.

I got a 2013 dodge dart back seat not the one that belongs in it my breakes have stoped working twice i had to take car to diffrent dealer to be fixed recall twice thurston has made no attempt to resolve i have a car that is parked i dont feel safe in not cool at all

May 2, 2017 I went to Thurston to get an oil change. The guy told me it will be 3 hour wait and advised me to schedule an appointment and it going to be 45mins service. I went ahead and make an appointment for May 4, 2017 (today). Walked in and he said its going to be 2 hours or more than that. No apologies at all. I said why is that? Give me excuses about a 30k miles service. I said why you didnt say anything when i was here the first time. I should have done this service on 2nd of May rather than made that appointment for what? Same 2-3 hours of waiting.He made me stand there wait & wait for him while he was listening to his voicemails on the speaker phone. He just gave me that look it is what is . Im the paying customer here made an appointment just like what he told me. 10am appointment it is 12:30 as im writing this review never heard anything from them yet 😡😡

I told the mechanics there that there was a sensor broken and they insisted it was perfect condition. Went to Les Schwab and behold!! The damn sensor was broken!!! Dont ever, ever!!! Go there.
