This was my second visit. Its nice not having to go to a big box store for art supplies. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Great Customer! Luke helped me find everything on my art list. I was so lost in there at first and would have taken hours finding the things I needed for my art class. I was done so fast, which was great because I was pretty stressed with trying to stay ahead of my summer classes. Thank you guys for being so kind and helpful!

I used to feel like they had knowledge and good customer service. No one knew how to help me including the manager. I had to repeat what I needed over and over to each person and to one guy who kept saying he wasn’t the right person and to tell him again and again what I needed. I had to finally say okay let’s do this thing pass me on please. Finally, I ended up with a rep who didn’t know what she was talking about. I appreciate it when someone says they don’t know how to do something. She insisted she did. Thank goodness I went to another place afterwards. It turns out what she told me and I purchased would of destroyed my artwork. BTW this piece of artwork was already sold. She clearly just wanted me out of her face and my $. The manager wouldn’t take responsibility when I called to complain. I even told him I knew he had been there because I recognized his voice. I will drive out of my way to avoid this place!

Great customer service from Luke. Helped me find all the items on my list. Was patient and friendly. So glad to see this business survived COVID. It is so important for artists to have a small art business in their community.

I always have a good experience shopping at the Arizona Art Supply store in Tucson; the people are helpful and knowledgeable, the prices are decent and if you are taking classes, they have a student discount. Im glad that this store is in my area!

Has a sign saying they require masks but does not enforce nor do they care (an assumption made by their responses to others reviews..). They say they ask customers to wear a mask but cannot do anything if they refuse. This is false; as a fellow small business owner I find this funny as my business does not allow you in the door without a mask. It’s as simple as not allowing entry in an effort to protect your staff and customers.I know I am going to receive a response to this, so I would just like to inform those reading this from AZ art supply that there are laws within ADA that state that you can refuse a customer entry to your establishment if you can determine that they are a health hazard to yourself, your staff, or your patrons. Being in the midst of a pandemic, any person not wearing a mask or practicing proper safety protocols would fall into this category.I urge management at this small business to wake up to what is happening in their city (masks are also mandated by not only the county but the city as well, but that’s a whole other thing) for the better of their business, because halfway enforcing something that will protect your patrons just goes to show how much you really care about them. Hopefully you guys don’t try to buy me out with a $20 gift card as well, because my health is more important than any amount of monetary value.

Every time over the last year, when I go to Arizona Art Supply for prismacolor and Faber-castell pens and markers their supply is missing the popular colors and points. Very frustrating!

DONT SHOP HERE! UNSAFE. Not enforcing Tucsons mask mandate. Every customer was unmasked & they werent even asking people to mask. When I asked why, they said our governor has lifted mandate. No... our gov never created a mandate and 17,000 Arizonans have died. The City of Tucson still has a mandate. I attempted to call headquarters in Phoenix and they started pushing alternative facts re: covid safety & mitigation measures. Dont give your business to this conservative Phoenix company that doesnt care about welfare of Tucsonans.

Unsafe: Employee wore his mask under his nose. As far as products, not particularly knowledgeable. So-called sale prices are high. If not under time constraints, as I was, order elsewhere online.

Knowledgeable, professional staff. Store is well stocked. During this pandemic, all staff are wearing masks. They care about their customers. Bring your teacher ID and ask for a discount. There is parking right in front of the store. This is our favorite art supply store in Tucson.

Went with a friend and ended up finding some neet stencils. Was very surprised the amount of stealing that happens there. The poor guys are on there toes at all times. I guess starving artist translate to stealing artists. VERY sad... On a happy note i did learn some different techniques from the helpful staff. Thanks guys...

Better selection than the big box stores, competitive prices, and knowledgeable employees. I did not know about it until Covid-19, when other craft stores and departments were out of supplies. Now it is my go-to place. Ive shopped there a couple times now for a friend who cannot leave her assisted living residence. Once I bought the wrong product for her, and they let me return it. Michaels is saying no returns for 3 months or longer. Great place. Let everyone know.

This was my first time in AZ Art Supply. I was looking for a particular type of pen my daughter needed. I was greeted warmly upon walking in the door. The associate asked if she could help me find something. I told her what I was looking for, and she took me right to them. Not only did she direct me and escort me to the pens, she also showed me how the various types and qualities worked, so I could make the best choice for my daughter. They are knowledgeable, helpful and very welcoming. You will enjoy shopping here.

Its so strange to read about all the negative comments in regards to customers coming in with children. I brought my 4 year old and my 8 year old here more than once (both in the AM and toward closing), and never once felt unwelcome nor did anyone attempt to reprimand my kids. Maybe its because my kids dont touch anything, and the second they do, I make sure it stops? The thing is, the products they have that are well within childrens reach are toxic, sharp/dangerous, and/or VERY expensive... So if your kids arent being as angelic as you wanna think they are, and youre not doing anything about it, (or maybe arent paying attention), they have a right to make sure that they protect their products and protect their minor customers who dont know any better.

I am highly disappointed. Your cashier had the audacity to try and reprimand my 2 year old child for touching a case. Mind you I was in the middle of handling the situation she interrupted me to tell my child what to do. I will never be shopping here again which is unfortunate because I was about to spend. Lot of money buying all new art supplies.

Absolutely love this store. I typically gravitate toward Hobby Lobby and Michaels for art supplies because of the coupons. Arizona Art Supply was having a sale the day I went in and their prices are better than the chain stores with a coupon. I’m very happy I stumbled upon it!

The staff here are the most friendly and helpful I have found in the city. They have a tremendous supply of materials, and have called me when things I like arrive in stock. Its a nice place to just hang out and browse, or find just the thing you need for many different types of artwork. Its the only place I go in Tucson.

I bought 3 drawing pens and they lasted 1.5 days .they were used I suppose. I reported the problem to the store and they told me to call the pen company. Instead I m reporting it to you. THE A A SUPPLY HAS BEENY STORE FOR 13 years and never had a problem until now...

Small, organized store. Super friendly, helpful, personable staff. My recommendation is to ask for Paige (hopefully I spelled that right). Prices are fair and they know their stuff.

Staff was disrespectful. Made me feel like I was bothering them coming in, even though no one was there. Thought I support the little guys in this hard times but next time I’m going to michaels. They might be corporate but at least they make you feel welcome.

I first went to this store with 5 young kids in tow. My eldest, 13, was looking to start using water colors and, despite the moderate chaos of the others, they really took the time to make suggestions towards getting her setup properly. My eldest has become an avid painter and we have been back several times since. They continue to treat us very well and make helpful suggestions as she grows. The people who work there are artists and they really know there stuff. Great place!

Wonderful fine art supply store! Hands down my favorite in Tucson. Excellent and consistent availability of materials (from student to professional artist). Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, always willing to answer a question or two about products/material!. Best of all its local to Arizona! Lets keep those tax dollars in state, baby!

If I could have made this less than 1 star I would have. This review is long overdue. Right to the chase, the manager of this store should be fired and left to find another line of work - preferably on some deserted island where he wont have to deal with people. Had very unsettling experience more than once. I hope HIS manager is reading this.

I have enjoyed shopping at Arizona Art Supply. They carry a wonderful choice of products for the arts, from student grade to professional use. The staff is friendly and appear happy to help. They know the products and have been able to provide information needed regarding what product will fulfill my needs. Highly recommend!

Love this art supply store! Must be careful if you enjoy nice supplies. They have wonderful things and it can be difficult to leave without something.

I just moved to Arizona and I went in to buy a canvas. I was a little surprised by the steep prices, but willing to pay for my purchase. I brought my canvas up to the counter and realized it was warped. The employees were kind enough to help me find a flat one but nearly all the canvases (in ALL the brands) that were laid out would not lie flat against the counter. They finally found a flat one but the canvas was a little floppy and I ended up paying an extra $4! I am not sure that Ill be returning.

I was looking for a really niche product that they dont carry, and I didnt even know what it was called, but they helped me piece the last details together so I could figure out what out was and where to look to find it. The staff is great.

Staff was exceptionally rude - when I mentioned that a local competitor had an item for half as much, the person said maybe I should go there to purchase the item. I also commented on their web site - and was told lower prices for in store items on the website were lower to offset the charge for shipping. Amazing. Tried to order on website - but link didnt work.

Everything Ive bought here has turned out to be extremely low quality. I cant tell if theyre cutting corners or just dont know how to pick out good merchandise. Last time I was in, I bought a pencil sharpener and a sketchbook for Inktober. The pencil sharpener was so bad it ate through the lead and ruined some of my best art pencils. The sketchbook was so flimsy that after one normal ink drawing, the ink bled through 3-4 pages, and the outlines of the pen had imprinted on another 1-2 pages after that. Unfortunately, only par for the course for what Ive seen of this store. This store is located far away from me, but Ive been making an effort to go all the way out there, to support an independent local business. But everything Ive ever bought here has been so shoddy its gone straight in the garbage.

Had a terrible experience. Didn’t feel welcome. Was followed around the whole time like I was going to steal. My boyfriend is an artist, writing is his specialty, and I seriously feel like we were taken like a joke. All he was looking for was a parallel calligraphy pen, and some water color ink, and we were crowded by every worker in the store. My daughters bday is this month. Shes an artist too, so I was looking for a set of markers for her to use. I look down the aisle and I have a worker pretending to look at stuff on the shelf and she kept peeking around the corner at me. Finally I said excuse me to engage convo with her. Asked her if they had any gel pen sets. The girl who had to of been maybe 20 was all “how old is she?” I said “ Shes 8 years old” she shrugged her shoulders and said no this is all we have. When I look on your sight it stated there was kids crafts there, she didn’t mention any of it to me, more like I was being questioned like I was lying. Future reference, just because someone comes in with tattoos covering their bodies, doesn’t mean they are trying to steal. Obviously they enjoy art. I’ve never felt so criticized in my life. We went to Michaels, got help, wasn’t followed around, and got 40% off of our purchases. Thank you for being rude so we could find what we were looking for !

I bought a brush last week which at half price was $13.20. I used it for three minutes and bristles were all over my painting. I just brought it back to the store and the manager would not replace it because it was used. Very poor customer service. Will never be back.

Great awry supply store. This is no Michaels! This is definitely for a more serious artist and our crafter. Higher end products, more expensive however much better quality and a wide range of products covering many mediums.

Although relatively small compared to other stores Ive shoped at. The staff is lovely and will help you find what you need. This is now my go to art supply store.

They had everything i was looking for and the girl with the short haircut was knowledgeable and ADORBS!

One of my sons asked me to take him to this store to buy a sketchbook, and while we were there an associate came around and told me to ask my kids not to handle the brushes because they were very delicate. My older son was flabbergasted because he and his little brother werent hurting anything. I was insulted because I was standing right by my kids, making sure they didnt hurt anything - but she still came around and make us all feel rotten by what she said. The lady apologized at the checkout for having to say that - clearly uncomfortable with the management of the store being prejudiced against children. I am a professional artist and have spent a LOT of money on art, and I would never go back to this store pending some sort of change in this policy. Also, I wrote a complaint to their website and never received any reply. My advice to any artists with children is not to go near this place. When this happened to us, my son was actually the customer and they left him feeling insulted and confused.

Very friendly and a great selection of professional watercolor supplies that you dont find at big box stores. They even let my 3 year old paint with them!
