To fix check engine light on Saab now, during pandemic, is a challenge; all repair shops are short of staff and time and you may have to wait a week to just have it checked. But not at Auto Pro! You can just walk in get the service any day any time, not at midnight, of course. As a new customer, I just walked up to the service desk, stated the car problem and had it fixed the same day at a fair price. I could not believe my luck.I have finally found a good, reliable, professional and super efficient place to repair my car. Staff is friendly and AJ goes extra mile to take care of all the customers ( I did overhear a few conversations).Additional plus is that Auto Pro is close to my home and work and they offer you a ride to/from home/work. I recently brought my Jeep in because my tires were shaking and I wasnt sure what was wrong. I was quickly greeted by a young man named Billy. I told him what was happening and he offered to test drive my car. When he returned, he explained the problem in detail which was my brakes. I had taken it to another shop who told me I needed new tires and brakes. Billy said all I needed was brakes. It made me feel comfortable knowing I wasnt being taken advantage of due to my lack of knowledge. Billy was extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the issues. Even made me laugh. First off, great staff in front, Billy and AJ (the two ive had the most experience with) have always been polite and friendly to everyone i have overheard them speak with.While my car was only in need of general repairs (brakes/oil changes/maintenance) they always had time to do it and were able to get the job done relatively close to when they quoted. Got to meet the owner who was equally pleasant to speak with as the front staff. Was buying a car at a dealership down the road and was gonna take it to a mechanic for an inspection. My mechanic was booked that day and the next day and since I have trust issues, I can’t take any car to any other mechanic, but I had to get the inspection done asap. So I got on google and looked up mechanics in the area and found this place. The reviews were all excellent and that’s what pushed me to come here. I called them beforehand to ask how long it would take approximately and right away I could tell what kind of staff they had. You can tell a lot by the way people communicate on the phone and it was inviting and with a friendly tone. I go into the shop, tell em that I need a used car inspection and the dude at the front desk was very professional. They have a nice lounge area to wait in with free coffee, snacks, and water, which is always nice. The mechanic that inspected the car - Zain (hope I spelled that right) - was fantastic; absolutely terrific. Like I said, I have trust issues and this guy was able to put me at ease right away and trust him that they did a good job. He was communicative, explained things carefully, pointed out potential issues and we had a nice chat about the car overall and its strengths and weaknesses. They weren’t trying to just get it done, tell me “nothing wrong with it”, and show me the door. I got the sense that they cared and they actually enjoy working on and learning about cars. Zain said that since there was nothing wrong with the car, they wouldn’t charge me for the inspection. A nice surprise and this review doesn’t even get close to repaying them. I just wish they were near where I live; I would definitely take my car to them for any issues.

In 2019 we had a Jeep Liberty completely die, the motors time had come. They replaced the motor on that jeep in an acceptable amount of time. Ive been having my 2005 Hyundai repaired at Auto Pro for years and A.J., Mike, Billy and all the staff are the best! Theyve always had my repairs done on time and if any problems arise they do their best to get it fixed right and 99% of the time they are on the money with the diagnosis. Ive got trust in the mechanics and management and staff, the car is returned clean and the cost for repairs is on par or less than many other shops or dealerships. If you need repairs, be confident in allowing these folks to do their best work. Kudos to all the people at Auto Pro!! And my car is running like a clock! Thanks fellas!!

I brought my 2018 Jeep in for service came in for an oil change and they did a complementary inspection and noticed that my front brakes were ready to start grinding got it done within an hours time while I waited! Coming in from out of town, I noticed I was well overdue for an oil change. I made an appointment with Auto Pro and on arrival I was greeted by AJ and he was very helpful. He made checking in a breeze. I was on a tight schedule and he made sure I was out within 30 minutes for both an oil change and tire rotation. I randomly stopped in because my truck was throwing a code that I couldnt figure out what it was or how to remove it. I was there for 15 minutes while Billy took it fixed it and sent me on my way. Thanks again saved me time and a lot of frustration.

I took my 2010 Audi TT in for a front end vibration occurring around 70mph, and requested they check the oil in the transmission and AWD system since I was at the service interval for those.After a day of checking out the vehicle, they were unable to diagnose the vibration, but suggested that replacing the front axels for ~$1800 and balancing the tires for $100 could fix it. They also recommended that I replace a serpentine belt for $220, air filters for $180, and tuneup the car by replacing spark plugs/ coil packs for $350 (plus a coolant flush, brake flush, fuel system “flush”, and an air induction “flush”) for a total of ~$3000!!!The spark plugs, coil packs, air filters, and serpentine belt were ALL new, I replaced them myself a few weeks prior. They never even looked at them, just said they needed to be replaced.I asked them to balance the tires and declined all other services. They never even checked the transmission or AWD systems.I later replaced the front left wheel bearing myself for $100 and solved all of the vibration issues. I will be taking my transmission and AWD services to another local euro mechanic.Edit: After speaking with Billy (this location’s managing partner) about this, he was kind enough to offer to comp the fee for balancing the tires, the cost that I paid for the new wheel bearing, and provide 1 year of oil changes for my vehicle.I only accepted the refund for balancing the tires, as this did not correct the issue I brought the vehicle in. I will think about the oil changes.I understand the difficulties of managing and overseeing automotive repair, as I deal with it heavily in my line of work. I much appreciate Billy’s ownership of the issue and his efforts to help right this. My family has previous experience with their Shelby Twp. location, and they all speak very highly of their experiences there. Changed to 3 stars.

Paid a lot of of money to get some work done the guy that helped me was nice but I feel like I paid to much for my car to sound the way it was after they so called fixed it and the sound was not the sound I brought it for and it was a different sound and way louder after they so called fixed it too . I called and even brought it back for them to check it out they told me it was another problem that I would have to get fix and that problem cost bout 500$/700$ to fix and came to Michigan for work so I need my truck … so ATP I think ima take it to someone else to check it out and get fix what I needed to go back to them to get fix but I feel like they are trying to get over on me cause ima a girl and im from outta state

Had to take my 2007 Subaru WRX in for a new clutch, I was skeptical on pricing because of how expensive clutch jobs can be. Gave me a discount for being a new customer, and inspected and tweaked some extra things for free. The job was done proffesionally, driving the car home it felt fantastic. They also called to update me consistently on how things were going and was all over a great experience. Going to be one of my top choices for a future mechanic.

Came in for a power steering leak on my 2009 Mazda 6. They found the issue within 45 min because they wanted to clean it all off and make sure they find exactly what’s leaking. Replaced the rack and pinion and got me an alignment the same day! Aj was on time and fair with prices even did an oil change for free! Thanks will be back again

Right before the pandemic my car started over heating. They changed everything they could think of while the bill racked up. Eventually they changed the problem part, my coolant thermostat. Fast forward until last month, everything they changed out has now broken again. The water pump, the fan clutch (that they said they would replace for free because they were so sure that it was the solution) and the thermostat now have to be replaced. Of course I called and conveniently all of their warranty is one year which Im just over. I cant believe the amount of money I threw away on this auto shop just for it to break again.**Edit**Billy reached out to me (after I sent my car to another mechanic unfortunately) but he was very accommodating. He was also concerned over the miscommunication of the warranty length. Since my car had already been fixed, Billy offered to give me a years worth of free oil changes and a free alignment. I appreciate the effort him and Zaine put into contacting me to make things right.

Guys worked to change my shocks and struts. Rare car with hard to find parts and they worked through it. Courteous and cost competitive with other shops. Clean as well. They care about their work. I would go back. My car rides like new again.

BUSY SHOP! I came in when there was no parking space in the lot and had to park my car at the Collision Shop next door. Despite this, I was greeted and my car was taken in promptly, which was honestly a little shocking. Did my brakes same day and were reasonable enough. I would not want to wait in the lobby next time since it was a little hectic. And it was really hot to go outside. They do shuttles but the only downside is it took a while.

Aj gave great customer service. Kept me updated the whole time during the car service and I was really appreciative of that.

On our way home from vacation I noticed that my brakes were grinding. I took my vehicle in on Monday morning and AJ and the crew were very helpful, they diagnosed several issues I was having with the vehicle that needed fixing. They were kind enough to give me a ride home (I live in Troy). They fixed everything that day and when I picked it up that evening my van drove like a dream. Nowadays its very hard to find honest mechanics to work on your car. This was my first time at auto pro and it definitely will not be my last. I had parts installed onto my car and while they were installing it i had a problem with my oil pan that needed immediate attention. Luckily they caught it. They called my extended warranty and took care of all of it. The whole time while they were working on my car they kept me up to date so I knew what to exactly expect. Rather than showing up and getting hit with a big bill. Overall, definitely will be coming back and would recommend them to anyone needed work on their cars.

Solid group of guys who treated me fairly on changing my brakes. I went to the BMW dealer for an oil change and got an outrageous quote. I searched around and called these guys. Billy and the team looked at my 3 series and helped me out by saving the front brakes. The rears were a fraction of what the dealer quoted. They got it all done within the day and I revived pickup/drop off service along with updates via text. Can’t ask for more from a mechanic. I’ll be coming back!

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. I took my car in after hearing some occasional noises needed a serpentine belt that I knew of and also an AC compressor. I just wanted a quick diagnosis to confirm my concerns. They confirmed what I thought and when I left were telling me be careful and acting honestly weird. They wouldn’t give me a print out of everything they were saying with breakdown in prices and such. When the guy who’s name I won’t say, brought my car around it was DRASTICALLY louder and worse sounding then when I brought it in. Fast forward about 12 hours, I’m getting gas and the car is still extremely loud. When I put the car in park, it turned off on its own after oil and battery lights coming on. I got gas, which was really noisy the whole time for some reason. I go to start my car and it won’t turn. I finally get it to turn after about 5 minutes of trying, starting, and dying again, but now my car is smoking. I hurry up and get it home to park as smoke is billowing from under my hood. My dad has been working on cars for 30 years so I called him to come look at it. He pops the hood and the serpentine belt isn’t even on the track and is loose. He goes under the car and the belt is hanging off to where he literally just touched it and the whole belt unraveled from the pulleys and whatever else it’s attached to and at the end of it is a clean slice that doesn’t look like any wear and tear I’ve ever seen. I can’t say they asked me for any money, but they’re scandalous and should not be open! People seem real nice but DON’T LET THAT FOOL YOU! If they were trying to make sure I’d come back and spend money with them they are sadly mistaken.

I brought my 03 Mach 1 Mustang in because it’s had a small leak and they got me in right away and even shuttled my boyfriend and I home. They fixed our oil pan and our differential and pinion in a few days. We ended up having to come back because we had some burned wires so we needed to fix the alternator and the starter. We towed our car back up there and left the key in the Dropbox and we were the first car to get worked on the next day and it was done within a few hours. Great work and great customer service.

I was surprised that they could get me in the same day. My exhaust was loud, also needed the coolant flushed and replaced for a while now, brake fluid had never been changed either. Their prices were very reasonable and these are things I continued to shoot down at the dealer. When they told me the cost of service I couldnt say no. AJ, Jimmy and the whole crew were polite, provided thorough explanations, answered all my questions and had my car ready within a few hours. Ive found my new go to mechanics! My car drives like a dream guys!

Im an incredible mechanic skeptic. I usually do repairs myself and it usually takes far longer than a mechanic by a good day or two, because I figure it out as I go but Im no slouch. But Ive been shopping around again. And these guys really gave a fair price, like I really was good with it which is big as someone who a mechanic somewhere else has tried to get one over on before once or twice at different places. And even accommodated financing. They were super fast since I was in the waiting room which I thought was incredibly considerate and even took the time to show me the inspections and repairs in the bay as they were doing the whole process. Which was also huge. Will definitely be coming back for all my maintenance and big repairs here, thank you guys for ending my search for a repair shop! Lol

THEY TRIED TO SCAM ME! Probably already did.I went in couple days ago for my check engine light. They said they had to do a electrical diagnosis which would cost $150. They said it’s usually electrical issue and we will fix it. So I agreed but few minutes later they come to me saying the engine valve cover needs replacement, which would cost me $600+. I hesitated and refused to get that service. They charged me $100 for electrical diagnosis and gave me $50 discount for being “new customer. ” The valve cover OEM costs $200 at most. They tried to charge me $600+! I later took my car to Troy Auto Care (NAPA CERTIFIED) and they did diagnosis for free and charged me $250 for entire repair. Please take my advice and go to NAPA Certified mechanics/auto shops. If you’re around Troy go to Troy Auto Care at Minnesota Drive, they have integrity which Pro Troy Auto Lacks (they seem so genuine, but I was close to actually paying $600 for a valve cover replacement.)Update:The owner contacted me and worked with me to resolve the issue. Although my trust was broken they promised to do better in future. I hope they keep their word.

They worked with my warranty company to make sure my entire experience was seamless. They installed a brand new engine and a variety of other parts that were damaged as a result of the blown engine. I cant say enough about Zain. Top, top notch. Dont hesitate to take your car here (no matter the model) for any type of repair. I know I received way better treatment here than any BMW dealer!

So this is a doozy, had my vehicle looked at by 3 different independent auto mechanics and none of which could figure out my issue on my BMW. I decided one last try with Auto Pro. I was shocked within 3 hours they were able to properly diagnose my issue as a faulty ground wire that 3 other master mechanics were not able to find out. Even better after getting some other work done there i was happily surprised by the fact that they cleaned my vehicle and washed it. Honestly i didn’t think independent shops were capable of such customer and thought that was only reserved for the dealerships but these guys blew that notion out of the water. Forever grateful for finding these guys. Don’t take my word for it go check them out yourself!

7/27/21 update#1 no one contacted me from auto pros about my review or to inquire if Im happy after spending 5000 at their shop. I dont expect to much to happen in terms of auto pros trying to make the situation right I just want to warn others to not let these folks touch any car! Ill post another update in a monthLots of good reviews dont always equal a good establishment. Go see Troy at Bayliss auto (great guy) in clawson or Top Tech off Rochester both have skilled mechanics and will take care of you! Im still trying to figure out what the heck kind of a mess did I get myself into dealing with these gentlemen. Everyone is nice and does seem to care but I cant tell you that I would send my grandmother here thats on a fixed income and has a budget. Its very hard to review something that you dont really know that much about and you arent standing by whitnessing while the service is being done to know exactly what their care/skill level is . I dont know if the problem here is just a fluke with me or wether this is a common occurrence or maybe with covid the skilled mechanics are working elsewhere and labor pool is thin so u get who you can get. I brought two used vehicles in to have them tell me what they may need and I know you dont really know whats what until you are able to get into it to see wear on parts and other visual signs but I was hopeful they could give me a rough estimate on both. I dont know exactly but I think they need to pay better attention on tracking down causes of problems before slapping a bunch of parts on it to see if that fixes it. One of the vehicles is a e150 van that had an abs brake problem, after they did their initial inspection of the vehicle tires, brakes, fluids, and engine they narrowed it down to the wrong front brakes being installed so we changed those, problem persists, than they said the wrong rotors being installed caused the speed sensors to go bad. Drilled them out,installed new, problem still persists. Then they called said it was done only to walk into the door being told not done. No biggie I understand. They walk us through the problem I understand most of it. Than they call at the 11th hour only to say the van needs back breaks because theyre worn and the reason the abs is acting up is because of a pinched ground wire. Im still trying to figure out how they didnt catch the back breaks in their initial inspection of the van but ok give them the go ahead only because they said theyd do it for 200 which sounded strange to me but ok I want it done. I appreciate honesty to the fullest especially with mechanics to tell the full story, if u made a mistake thats fine were people mistakes happen. But what I dont like to feel like is being told you need a repair but for some other reason not because theyre worn but because its causing an issue that we didnt see originally. I dont want to feel like Im being told a half truth in order for me to approve a repair. I spent like 5 grand here in 10 days and my problems are not gone. See my receipts that tell a story on their own. Auto Pro= Auto NO . Ill adjust my review accordingly if anyone reaches out until than keep your eyes open and ears perked when coming here. I would know exactly what you need when coming here to avoid any headaches. I thought it must be a half way good place they have the most reviews by far more than any other local shop around. Its sad when u cant trust folks like u want to

I really cannot recommend this place enough. The staff is skilled, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I really cannot see myself taking my car anywhere but here from here on out!

Great service and excellent staff. The waiting area was very clean and they even offered snacks and drinks! Everyone was super kind and they solved my issue in a timely matter. Will definitely come back here if I ever have any problem and will recommend it to anyone.

Had a minor miscommunication on my first visit, but the owner invited me back into the shop to see my car on the lift and walk through the recommended repairs. He seemed to really go out of his way to make it right and earn my trust and my business. I plan to continue bringing my vehicles here for now, and will update this review if needed

Ive gone in a second time to get an oil change. The workers are extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable knowing what services were necessary for my car. Very professional and quality service!

This was the first time coming to this auto shop and can I tell you the service was amazing! I had such a good experience with Shakel. He was so awesome! He was very upfront and honest. I have never had this much of a good experience with an auto shop ever and I’m not exaggerating! I will be a returning customer and highly recommend them.

Excellent service!! Needed roadside help when my car would not start. They arrived in 20 minutes time. Fixed my problem for a very reasonable rate and treated me great! My new go to Auto Pro Troy!!

I went to this shop to check my car AC. They took 3 hours to check and said AC compressor needed to be replaced and they cleaned some wiring. For this I was charged $140. I didnt let them change the compressor because it would cost me $650. Then I went to a local mechanic and he fixed my AC without changing the compressor. Now you know how they do diagnosis and take money 💰 from customers.

I took my Honda Civic here for an oil change and I will never go to any other place but here. Nothing but a friendly professional environment with people that know what theyre doing and will assist you with any questions you have even if it isnt related to the oil change. Zain was the person that did the oil change on my car.. he was so nice and quick. I highly recommend this place!!!! Customer service is superb. People are great. Place is clean. Auto pro Troy’s service is excellent and priced fairly. The mechanics are thorough. When I went there, they explained how things worked with my brakes in a way that made sense to me.They diagnosed an issue another shop left me with and completed my brake repair in a fast and affordable timeframe with improved performance options that were reasonably priced.I will definitely be returning again for my maintenance or repairs. I see no reason not to expect the same level of service. I place my confidence and trust in the work they complete.

Was in a pinch needing to get my brakes replaced on Friday at 4 as i had a road trip the next morning. Have these guys a call got me right in no appointment necessary and got my car back to me by the end on the day i was shocked by how well this place is ran and how great the customer service is. I like setting up an appointment, and sitting in their clean, spacious waiting room while they work on my vehicle. All work was done correctly, and I am completely satisfied with the job. Talked to Zain here about my BMW X5. He did a phenomenal job fixing my oil leaks. Then had Shakel service our Chrysler Town & Country for brakes. Needless to say they have a lifelong customer in me.
