Im always thoroughly impressed with the service and communication from Tigard SUV. I knew my truck needed some work, and they were patient and polite while talking me through my options. I know they care about me and my safety and I will continue to bring my vehicles in for service here.

I had my vehicle serviced by Dan, the owner, and his team and they did an incredible job. They did a thorough inspection of my vehicle and Dan explained everything in detail and made recommendations that fit my budget. The work was done quickly and right the first time. I am thrilled with how my car is running and will definitely be using them again.

They were able to get me in to fix my a/c within a couple of days. They explained everything really well and even got my brakes done! All at a reasonable price.

Excellent company with ETHICS. My wife had her Subaru stall, and we were sure either the fuel filter or something was wrong with it. They took it in after hours (very easy process), and they looked into. They diagnosed it for 2 days. They found nothing wrong (turns out it could have been bad fuel), and charged us NOTHING. Ill certainly be using them again.

Went to this place the first time a year ago, because we were desperate and needed a quick battery fix! They were so fair we became repeat customers! Brought it back today for general maintenance and once again they made me smile with their service! This place has my business from now on.........

I came in for my old safari van. Got an inspection and coolent flush. My complaint is that they were very expensive. I called six other mechanics in the area to get quotes on the repairs. Tigard SUVs prices were significantly higher than all the other shops I called. Also the recommendations of repairs needed were excessive. When I went to other shops, they did not recommend all the same repairs. Example: They charged $270 for each coolent flush, while the other mechanic didnt charge at all for that. The repairs I got quoted were several hundreds more than other shops, it would have costs me at least $1500 more to get work done at Tigard SUV. Chris spent lots of time talking to me on the phone and he wasnt pressuring me, which I appreciated. This is a very thorough repair shop and I am sure they are dependable but the prices were excessive.

My 26-year-old truck needed lots of maintenance/repairs before a summer camping trip and DEQ check. I worked with Dan to schedule a visit for a Monday, got the full diagnosis and parts/labor estimate by 2 pm Monday, authorized the work, and they started. We hoped they could be done by Tuesday so we could leave early Wednesday, but there was too much work. So Chris worked with me to prioritize the most important repairs, and one of his techs stayed late Tuesday to finish as much as possible. Tigard SUV had the truck ready for us on Wednesday at 11am.In short, the owners and mechanics at this shop are not only professional and customer-focused, they are fast, flexible, and courteous. Ill be taking my truck back to them to finish the low-priority repairs, and will stick with them after that.

I stopped in and spoke to Chris about getting an estimate for repairs. He took all my information and said he would call me with a quote. I told him I was on a time restraint as I was moving out of state in 3 weeks. It has been 2 weeks and I have not received a call with an estimate for the repairs I need done. If they wont call as promised, what does that say about their repairs? What are they not fixing that they say they will?Edit after response below: nice lie about leaving a message. Chris left a voicemail after I left the negative review, so number I left was accurate. I checked my call log and had no calls or voicemails on the date he states he left one. Just admit you forgot to call. Lying about it makes you look worse and also makes it look like you’ll lie to customers about work performed or work not performed but you say you did.

The absolute best place for auto care and repair. You cant go wrong here. They answered all my questions and provided exceptional information on necessary repairs. They were very helpful and able to get me in and out much quicker than I ever expected. I highly recommend them to anyone needing a quality shop to work on their vehicles.

Their diagnosis was a blown head gasket which would have costed several thousands of dollars. I took it to another reputable mechanic and the diagnostic revealed a stuck thermostat, and no blown head gasket. They checked all the valves which were operating with specifications, no mixing of fluids found, replaced the thermostat, and retested with no pressure failure and consistent engine temperature since. Fluids look good. I am very disappointed with their assessment and will not go back there.

Ive been here multiple times now, and the service is always thorough, speedy, and transparent. They kept in contact with me, both via phone to inform me of service needs and recommendations to get my approval before proceeding, and via email to provide labor updates. The results of their thorough inspections are available through a cool site that makes it very easy to guage the overall health of your car and assess current and future service needs. I did shop around once when I required an expensive service, and their price was the same as others I called. Now I dont feel the need to shop around - I just come here.

Tigard SUV will always be my go-to place for any of my cars! I started taking my 1997 Ford Explorer to them back in 2005 or 2006 when she was starting to show signs of reaching the end. Tigard SUV kept her running safe for another 6 years until 2012 when I had to tell her goodbye.I bought a 2012 Ford Escape and recently hit 115,000 miles on her but realized she wasnt running that great. So I took her to Tigard SUV and they did a really thorough inspection. After they went through all the key things that were needed I opted to get the work done. After I got her back it was like driving a brand new vehicle!!!The really impressive thing about the experience with Tigard SUV is not just the friendly and helpful staff but they send you an email with a digital inspection report listing the results of the 35 point inspection with an overall vehicle health rating. They rank each item they check as to Passing, Non-Urgent, Urgent. If you have your brakes checked there is a separate report for that as well. They even provide videos to explain the issue, or the vehicle element (like coolant hoses and why they should be replaced at some point).So happy with the service there!!

I own an older car (1999) that I generally maintain myself. Recently, the clutch started to go, which was a little too big of a job for me to tackle myself. I called a few shops around my house, and these guys by far seemed to be the most knowledgeable and confidence inspiring on the initial phone call. Reviews looked good, so I chose them for the job. Im glad I did - they did a fantastic job. Clutch and a few various seals were replaced in a day and a half, and everything is working flawlessly with no leaks. They did do a 35 point inspection and discussed some other recommended work with me, but I never felt as if they were pressuring me into work that I did not want to have them do. Overall, a great experience - I will be back for any maintenance that Im not able to do myself. Thanks Chris and Dan.

They are always extremely helpful. They answer all my questions. I feel they are telling me the truth and I very much appreciate that. They keep records and can easily access them to help answer questions. They are always able to provide me with loaner car as well which I need. I am very happy with their level of customer service and maintenance of my car. I highly recommend them.

Complete scam of a shop, taking advantage of others that they think dont know about vehicles. Per hour rate is outrageous and price on quoted parts is double or triple what you can buy them from the manufacture for. Avoid this place like the plague.Edit to owners response: Oh Im reviewing the correct place alright, thanks for your concern though. Ive never seen a more opportunistic and deceitful business in my life. If your reading this review before taking your car here, you would likely be better off almost anywhere else in town. Call around, do your research, dont give scammers like these guys your money.

The people at Tigard SUV have serviced my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee for years, always providing the best of care at a reasonable price. They are great at letting me know when a repair is an immediate necessity or when it can be monitored for awhile. Ive had repairs done here twice and Ive never felt like they are taking advantage of my lack of knowledge. Chris is very good at explaining what the issues are and what is needed to fix them. Margaret is also very knowledgeable and super nice! I just think they are decent, honest folks who will make the necessary repairs without adding a bunch of unneeded things just to make a few extra bucks. I will continue to take my car to them and will recommend them to everyone!

My partner brought her car here for some work. The guys where spot on and gave us a list of what should be worked on and in what order. Affordable and not pushy! You can tell they arent here to make a quick buck. Had to work in the lobby while waiting for new tires and everyone was super friendly and accommodating. Will be back for sure!

Got Quoted for a price got charged something Else they kept it 5 days past the fix date when I got my car back cruise control didn’t work and also my horn needed my car for work so I didn’t want to take it back and try to argue they messed it up who knows if they would have or kept it longer again or even would have tried to fix it my steering wheel had loose screws I had to retighten my self all for the proud price of 1550 plus to add 2 days they say it would be ready I came in got told sorry it’s still not ready no call to tell me it was going to take longer a little communication goes a long way and I should get my car back with loose screws and two more things wrong with it when they worked upon being brought in I don’t need excuses I need solutions to the problem

Got my DEQ test here instead of driving to Hillsboro or SherwoodIn and out in about 15 minutes. Well worth the $25 charge. Very nice people.

Straight upfront. Their diagnosis as well as their 35 point inspection completely coincided with what i generally knew was wrong with my vehicle. Thought it was my catalytic converter first...or a tune up second. They determined it was tune up. Also hit on the head a few other things i knew were going on...which all proved to me they were being honest. Found my new mechanic.

They did an amazing job not only working on what I needed, but inspecting everything else on the vehicle.

Really unhappy with both the work quality and integrity of this shop.Regarding quality: My truck was not driving well, and I brought it to Tigard SUV and Auto for repair. Unfortunately, after they reportedly fixed the problem, I still noticed the same issue. I had another shop check the truck, who confirmed the problem was not fixed. I then brought the truck back to Tigard SUV and Auto, only to be told there was no issue (by Dan, the owner), but they would check the problem again. After this, they made adjustments and the problem was fixed.Regarding integrity: I realize no one is perfect, and shops make mistakes. However, instead of apologizing for not fixing the problem the first time, and my inconvenience of having to bring the truck back, the manager (Chris) became upset at me. He was not happy because I had another shop check the truck, and he blamed me for inconveniencing his shop to check the truck again. He said there was no problem because they are skilled ASE technicians. Evidently his ASE technicians are always right in this shops mind, which shows poor integrity and leaves the customer vulnerable.I cannot trust a shop that does not listen to customer concerns, and cannot admit a mistake or oversight, and instead misdirects blame to the customer.

We have had our cars serviced at Tigard SUV for years. The service is excellent and always prompt and complete. They also do checkups when we bring the cars in to see if anything is amiss, but never do work until we approve it first. We have a Subaru and they always keep it in good shape.I highly recommend this shop for any auto repair needs, not just SUVs.

I was referred to them by a friend and I was really happy with my decision to try them.Very informative, quick repairs, & fairly priced!Have used them twice now and had great experiences both times!

We had to take our 96 Rav4 in on the fly for a temperature gauge issue. I called 2 other places for quotes and I knew right off the bat this was the place to go. Even in the initial phone call, they felt genuine and honest. After having the work done, were still thrilled. It was done quickly, efficiently and they communicated the entire time on cost. Were bringing our car in for some other maintenance next week. Dan and Chris will absolutely become our go-to mechanics.

Apparently we miscommunicated? Chris said the price of the initial inspection *could* be included in the price of the rework? I was under the impression that the inspection *would* go towards the repair, since thats what I was told on the phone and was why I brought the car here in the first place. But it was my fault for selectively hearing what I wanted. Will not be coming back, except to pick up my car once they put it back together.

I took a Subaru there for a check engine light, they took over 2 hours to diagnose it, when it was promised in 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. Then they found over $3k worth of work that needed to be done. I declined and wanted another opinion first. As I was pulling out of the parking lot, I noticed the battery light was on, which it had not been when I took it there. Jake pulled it back in the shop and they told me that I would need a new alternator, costing $400 now to even drive home. I could have had it towed home, but I let them fix it. Not feeling right about the experience there, I took it to another mechanic the next day for a second opinion. They checked the exact same things and told me everything checked out fine, and that the sensor was broke, not the cat converter and head gaskets they told me it was. So instead of shelling out $3k, I had it fixed for under $250 and the car works great again. He also said that I may not have needed the alternator replaced. But how can I prove that now? The kids they have working there dont have experience and could charge you for one of their mistakes. Just a heads up.

That being said Ive been going to Tigard SUV for over 3 years to help confirm my own diagnostics and get the more serious issues taken care of. Their troubleshooting capabilities are spot on and the prices always fair. If you need a team of trust worthy, honest folks to work on your car look no further.

$114 PER HOUR! They scam those they think they can get away with too!!! DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!! Nowhere on their website can you find that. They charge $114 per hour JUST FOR LABOR and cant do simple math.I have a 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid that broke down so I had it towed to Tigard SUV and Auto. Turns out the gas engine failed. So its going to be $5000 to fix it. That hurts but okay, so they take it apart and now its the gas engine, electric engine, and transmission that all are ruined cost to fix now $10,000. Cant do it, car isnt worth that. So for just ripping everything apart and assessing the damage they want $916. Never actually telling me what went wrong with the car. To reassemble the car enough to roll off the lot they want $1800. For a car that will never run again.After a brief conversation about how this is going to ruin my finances and life they are quite rude telling me Oh youre young. Youll get over it After multiple inquires as to how they landed on this outrageous price they ignore us. Since I work regular business hours my girlfriend who works nearby spoke with Dan who lied saying I had approved up to 21 hours of labor and $5000 of work (under the impression the car would work again). He yelled at my girlfriend COMPARING HIMSELF TO A DOCTOR who gets paid even if a patient dies.We again explain that $916 is outrageous and ask for an explanation breaking down the price. Im sent the first picture with a generic labor price. Again we ask how are you getting to $916. How many hour and at what rate. Dan again is very rude to my girlfriend saying Do you want a breakdown $20 for each bolt turned ect?We tell them DO NOT DO ANYMORE WORK. We dont want to pay $1800 and will find a scrap yard to take it. After again lying to us saying nowhere will take it without the front end assembled (All three scrap yards I called will take it dissembled) they wait a day then WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION reassemble the car enough to roll out of their shop, saying they are taking pity on us when really they just wanted the bay BUT they wont charge us for the reassembly just the $916 for the initial dissemble.Again we ask how are you getting to $916? Finally we are sent the second picture.$114 AN HOUR FOR LABOR for 8 hours of work. However if you use a simple calculator 114 X 8 = 912 So they are clearly scamming us or cant do simple math. Not sure which is worse.When I went to pick the car us they had rolled down a window then disconnected all electrical function in the car so I cannot roll the window up. They offered me a trash bag to cover the window, but Oh look at that Im out of tape.Stay away from this shop they will scam you if you express a lack of knowledge about cars and will not tell you they CHARGE $114 AN HOUR or whatever number they feel like. I thought this shop was good and honest but it is neither of these things. Dont make the mistake like I did.

Finding a reliable mechanic is stressful. When you arent a car expert you always wonder how much of what you are told about needing X Y or Z done to your car is actually needed versus upselling. Im very happy that I found Tigard SUV. The service people tell me what needs to be fixed, what might need to be worked on in the future, and things I should keep an eye on. I trust the information they give me and their service is reliable and quick.

I have only had very good experiences in whatever kind of work Tigard SUV has done for our two cars. They are real professionals and do great work. They are also very friendly and it is a pleasure to do business with them.

Ive been a customer of Tigard SUV for years. Dan and his crew genuinely try to do the right thing every time. Theyve saved me HUNDREDS of dollars from un-necessary repairs that were recommended by dealerships. Recently Dan spent significant time diagnosing a problem, and finding the right part for a wheel bearing seal, where Ford installed year-2000 parts in my 2002 Ranger.

Ive been going to Dan and his team for years and I have to say that EVERY repair is done well. I get honest evaluations of the problems with no inflation or attempt to sell me things I dont need. Its nice to be able to have a repair shop where I KNOW things will be done that exceed my expectations every time.

Youll save money in the long run. Theyll get the diagnosis right and fix the problems that need fixing. Dont waste your money someplace else that promises low rates. If you do you will probably spend more going back multiple times as they fix rather than diagnose your actual problem.

Ive gone to Tigard SUV for 11 of the 15 years that Ive owned my 2002 Mitsubishi Montero. Fondly called The Beast, the Montero had a check up this past week at over 216,000 miles. Dan, Bobby and crew have babied The Beast through thick and thin, repairing its aches and squeaks, soothing the tired joints and keeping it in running shape. This has always been done with integrity, honesty and transparency only with what needed to be done.Unfortunately, it was determined that The Beast is on its last legs and that there will be no heroic service measures taken.Whatever final outcome and whatever replaces my trusty Beast, you can be sure that any check ups will be done by Tigard SUV.

OK. My truck is old. 1989 with 117k on it but it seldom lets me down. It developed a problem at an idle and under acceleration when it would stumble and wanted to stop running. Since I had it repaired here once already with a similar problem ( turned out to be a vacuum problem) about 2 years ago I took it back to them. I was called the same day and advised that they needed another hour, in addition to the hour already charged, to nail down the problem. So that was 2 hours at $130 an hour for diagnosis. I authorized that additional time. The next call was that they had discovered that the injectors were bad and needed replacement but they were having a difficult time finding injectors but would contact me when they had found some. I told them that Rock Auto Parts had the injectors but they told me that they had several experiences where parts from Rock Auto had failed and they would not use them. I was told that my bill would be about $460 to have the repair done and was told that they would be under an 18 month 18000 mile warranty. I told them to proceed and the next day was called and told my truck was ready. The bill was $462.77. I picked up my truck and drove it home. It ran great! The next week I drove the truck to a store and after about 20 minutes I came out and the truck was very hard to start. In fact it took about 5 minutes to get started. Once started, it ran great. I called Tigard SUV and explained the problem and set up today to bring it in and have checked out. I dropped it off and about an hour later received a call the the injectors were leaking while the engine was shut off and creating a fuel flooding problem. To fix this they recommended replacing the injectors and my cost would be an additional $169.00. They said that the leaking problem was a known issue with remanufactured injectors. The ones they had just put in. So the part they had used had failed ( seems to be the same problem as the Rock Auto Parts story) and no offer to fix the problem under their 18 month 18000 warranty. I objected and asked if he was the owner or manager. He said he was not. I said he needed to speak with one of those individuals and get back to me as I felt the $169 was their problem and on them. Still no mention of the 18/18 warranty. I received a call about 5 minutes later. I went back over the issue with the individual and again said I thought the $169 was their problem and the repair should be do no charge. I was then told they didn’t want to do the repair as the injectors cost them $113 each but they were willing to refund me my original repair cost of $209 so I wouldn’t say that they had screwed me. His words.. The $260 was diagnostic time. That was where I got hammered. Hey, I am old but not totaly stupid, just a little. No offer to repair the truck under the 18/18 just a strong effort to up sell me on the new injectors. 2 hours to diagnose this issue? Hummm. Went on line and Googled the year, make, and issue I was having. Came back with crank shaft positioning sensor and injectors as probable cause with injectors and throttle body as the leading suspects. That took less than 5 minutes. So you decide. In closing why did this issue not come up in a road test. If the injectors had a reputation of leaking.....why use them? Fix it right or don’t do it at all. By the way, the first repair also had to go back. Seems a vacuum line for the 4x4 was not connected so when I put it in 4x4 it would die. Should have learned a lesson on that one. As you read this remember, auto repair is a tough industry and your not going to satisfy everyone. I was in the auto industry 45 years and I learned one thing, make it right. Pretty much no matter the cost, make it right. Repeat and referrals are the most important customers you have going for you.
