So/so if you just want to buy something like you would from a vending machine this is the place to go. Don’t expect anything more. Cash and carry.

I came in perusing like any other customer and was looking for a rifle bag and was not even greeted let alone helped. I was looked at with discontent because I guess they didn’t want a minority to make a gun purchase or any kind of purchase in their establishment thinking I would commit a crime or something of that nature. And here I thought my money was as good as the next man. For those of ya’ll folks of color, might I suggest you kindly take your business to apocalypse arms, folks there are mighty kind.

Good selection in not only firearms, but accessories. Prices are comparable with other shops.Not sure where all these comments on the rude staff are coming from. Every time I visit the staff are courteous, know their stuff, and are helpful. I suppose a lot of folks want other to smooch their arses when they go shopping.The shop is one of my weekly stops- not so much for purchasing every trip, but I always leave a little smarter about firearms.

I bought a Springfield 1903 from them a couple years ago that was supposedly refurbished. They told me it was in good firing condition, which is why I chose the vintage model over the brand new model. It was supposed to be a nice gift to myself that looked good, but also fireable if I wanted. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to shoot it before I left town, and there is a massive deformity in the chamber which prevents the spent cartridge from ejecting. Just an expensive decoration now. As always, exercise caution when purchasing used firearms. I was absolutely cheated by this store, but it’s my fault for waiting so long to fire the rifle and have it inspected by a gun smith. I give them 2 stars instead of 1 because of a previous purchase that was ok.

Staff was rude and insulting. I guess business is good enough to get away with treating people that way. I rolled out to a little shop in Huachuca city and they were 100% better.

Great selection, and great staff that gives excellent customer service and full attention to each person they are attending to, but occasionally this means waiting my turn as a customer to receive my opportunity for their full attention. I dont mind, THIS IS WHAT ALL THE BEST GUN STORES DO, dont let anyone else tell you differently. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, laid-back and really listen to what I am looking for. Best gun store in town, hands down.

I have been to Trail Boss guns many times and have always left with a good experience. The owner Mike B. is very knowledgeable and takes time to answer all of my questions. I purchased a couple of used rifles for a really good price, both shot exceptionally well.

Great spot and great customer service. the price listed on the guns are fair but they are definitely not final. talk to anyone who works there, especially the owner and you WILL get an awesome discount. and they have great deals for military so talk to them before making a decision.

Love this shop! Theyve made purchasing a firearm a very smooth and easy process, and theyve got competitive pricing to top it off. Trail Boss will even service your equipment after you purchase it. Other stores will just tell you to contact the manufacturer. If youre looking for quality service, this is the place to go.

I purchased my rifle online from trail boss website had no issues, i picked up my gun within 5 business days. Staff greeted me and others entering the store. I have nothing negative to report very happy 😊

Much better experience than with Lock Stock and Barrel. They pried out the colt insignia on an handgun after the sale. Took 3 months to make me a holster after telling me it would take 2 weeks.Much better experience than Lock Stock and Barrel. Will never use them again.

2015: The former owner was an absolute @$$#ole! But the new staff is really friendly. Talk to Will (white mustache) SUPER friendly, knowledgeable and no pressure. Fair pricing finally as well. Glad to see this place is turning around.2020 UPDATE:This store has gone back downhill once again over the last year. Its unfortunate they cant seem to find their balance and stay there. Prices are way too high again, stock is hit or miss as are the employees attitudes. Its gone from a 0 star store for a decade, to a 5 star for a couple years, now a 3 on a good day.

Went into Trail Boss Guns with a front sight issue with my Glock 19 yesterday, (8/20/18). The gunsmith (Bill or Bob) helped me out. He told me that the Loctite and oils mixed together and didn’t adhere to the screw. He replaced the sight with a factory night sight. I wasn’t charged and went along my way. Awesome service. I don’t know if I came on a good day or what after reading the reviews from other people. I would go back.

Purchased a few firearms from this shop this year. Tried to special order some today. Terrible rude service. Will not spend a cent in this store again. I try to support local businesses when I can. Wrote an email to the manager detailing the incident. I NEVER write reviews....thats how pissed off the salesman made me today. I wasnt surprised to see the other reviews detailing similar bad experiences.

Came back to Huachuca for some training. Spent a Saturday going to all the places I frequented last time I was stationed here. Figured why not see if Trail Boss is still around. I have never spent less than 30 seconds in a gun store in my life. Walked in, noticed yup this place looks different. Two employees standing behind register talking. Walked right up to them to start my browsing from there, Hey, how is it going?, I ask. Nothing. They continue on with there conversation, as if I wasnt even there, about how much they enjoy cigars. So I just shake my head and turn around and leave. I get that this is a small town, but come the hell on. Cant even acknowledge your own damn customers? Really? Good luck with that. This is the part of the review were I say I spend roughly 5-9k a year on guns and reloading supplies (I do). Here is the part of the review where I say - Ill never spend anymore of that money with these jack nuts.

Supposed to open at 9:00 A.M. I called from 9:00 A.M. until 9:15 A.M. and no one answered the phone. I guess they run on millenial time.

I visited the store in search of an inexpensive firearm for safety on a long hike. Rather than sell me an expensive gun, they told me that my best bet would be pepper spray. Moreover the staff was very kind, patient, and answered all of my naive questions.

Might as well go to walmart. Having spent $649.17. when I went to pick up the purchase, I was ignored until I stared somewhat rudely at the clerk( only one other customer in the place) and then had to wait until they could find the record. Then I had to ask for the original box and the manual for the item. It was as if I was intruding on their time. Go to High Country near Sierra Vista, courteous and friendly folks. This was Trail Boss in Vail.

I made an online purchase of a pistol described as a HK USP compact 9mm Variant 1 from Trail Boss, Inc on January 22nd 2019 it included two ten round magazines. I received an email from the owner, Michael Benson, a few minutes after my purchase, asking if I would like to purchase two additional ten round magazines. He included a link for the magazines that led to his website. I declined. He replied that he would include them gratis. I wrote back and expressed my gratitude.The image of the USP was a little blurry. When I went back and looked at it again later, I noticed it was of a USP 45 compact. As it turns out the photo was NOT of the actual pistol offered for sale. I called Trail Boss and spoke with Michael Benson. He said the image on the website was one he pulled from the internet at random. He assured me the HK USP that I purchased was in great shape.I didn’t actually see the HK until February 11th, 2019 because Michael had initially shipped the HK to the wrong address. When I did inspect the pistol, I found that it was not a Variant 1 (safety/Decocker) but a DAO/LEM with no Safety/Decocker Lever. I refused delivery. I never took possession of the weapon.I contacted Michael the same day by email. When I didn’t receive a reply email so I called Michael on the telephone the next day. He said that he wouldn’t credit me until he received the HK. I explained that I never took possession. He wouldn’t budge on his stance.It is my opinion that Trail Boss and its Owner Michael Benson acted not only acted incompetently but fraudulently. Michael advertises his business as veteran owned and operated. As veteran myself, I would never treat anyone the way this company treated me.You may see duplicates of this complaint with other agencies and associations. I have copies of emails and screen captures of the actual webpage advertising the USP for sale at Trail Boss. I can provide transcripts of telephone conversations.Please learn from my experience and avoid Trail Boss like the plague.

I have had mixed experiences at Trail Boss. I think it comes down to who you deal with. The owner is a stand up guy and will work well with customers to make a good deal and find a gun or weapon that a customer wants. There was another older gentleman that works there that was very helpful as well. But some others that work there just dont seem to work well with customers and instead want to push the whole tacticool attitude that I could care less about. Maybe its because they deal with soldiers from a training base that think they are hooah or they get a lot of people browsing and not buying. Overall I would recommend shopping there; they seem to have products, ammo, accessories and such that others do not.

Horrible customer Service. Went into the store asking is a specific model was available for them to get they looked at their case and asked which one to which I replied it was not one they stocked. They (two of them working, no one besides me in the store) went on to talk to each other as if I were not even in the store. I will never walk into this store again, just go across the street for what I need. They were beyond rude. I guess they did not need my $900 sale.

Trail Boss has a fairly good selection of guns and seem pretty knowledgeable. I have purchased two Glocks from them and both have been the cheapest in town. The only negative thing I have to say is that the customer service isnt the greatest. There is one guy that is particularly rude and acts like he knows it all and is the God of Guns but other than this one dude(cant remember his name) Trail Boss is a great gun store.

Have been coming here awhile to get firearms fixed and recently made my first purchase from them. Professional and experienced crew here that treats patrons with respect. They also take care of LEOs, Military, and other first responders. Glad to see a good dealer here in SV...they are the only one!

Worst customer service in a 100 mile radius. Certain staff members dont know how to speak without talking down to you, and the gunsmith doesnt tolerate any difference of opinion simply because hes been a gunsmith for 30 years and you havent (yet Ive never even heard of him). Honestly not sure how theyve stayed open this long. Must be taking kickbacks from the Clinton foundation for turning people away from guns.

I have bought several rifles and pistols from Trailboss. I have found the entire staff to be knowledgeable and helpful. When they do not have an item in stock that I desire, they have ensured that my contact information is available and then when it comes in, they call me so that I can get the item. I have recommended Trailboss to many people and will continue to do business with them as long as I live in Sierra Vista.

Went in after the change in ownership, swine one and all! Rude staff. Their master gunsmith must have been drunk or incompetent. His mods to my rifle could have resulted in a catastrophic failure! I had to go to another guy to fix what he fixed! And all they seemed to know how to do was talk trash about their competition and stare at my daughters! I shall never grace this pace with my business again!

Have never seen gunsmithing prices that high....laughable. Steer clear of this bunch, you will be fleeced. Do not see them continuing in business. Got my barrel chambered, threaded, headspace, muzzle crowned, and fitted to my 700 action for half the price at Omega Gunworks!

Supposedly having a Glock sale, but its not a sale and when you show them other shops sale prices and ask them to match it they just walk away and ignore you.Its also really sad when you know more about the weapons for sale than the salesman...Before you buy anything from these guys, do your research their guns are outrageously over priced!

Trail boss of sierra vista is going out of business in 2019. No date for the closing. And there gun Smith rumored to open a new shop in town ! Word is at the old driving rang in sierra vista.

I have been in this store several times since my return to S. AZ, every time Im in there someone is acting snarky or talking down to you. Last time I was in trail boss a man named Mike was particularly abrasive. He only talked down the competition in town, told a bunch of lies about Lock Stock and Barrel, Black Metal Firearms and Chosen. They have built for them ARs on the wall and they refused to tell me who manufactured them. The blue label Glocks in the store are over Glock blue label price, so either they are jacking up the price set by Glock or they are not blue label guns. I hope Lock Stock and Barrel puts them out of business.

Great customer service and can order just about anything. I recently purchased an item then found it for $50 cheaper at Cal-Ranch....

Website inventory is BS to get you in the door . I drove 40 miles to buy a Rossi 24 barrel 44mag rifle website said they had 10 left . When I got there the salesperson didnt care about me driving 40 miles to make a purchase or that the website inventory is a LIE just shrugged his shoulders and walked away . I will never be back dont spend your money or valuable time here
